I will never take my dog there again I spent the night at the emergency vet after I got him back they pulled so tight on that thing around his neck that he had tracheal collapse and they're saying they done nothing to him but there was nothing wrong with him when he went there now I have a grooming Bill a vet bill and of course they have no cameras in there to show what they done to my dog they will be sued I will own the damn place the girl has no clue what she's doing and the animals are not treated right read more

I would give negative stars if I could. Do not bring your pet here, the people that work here do NOT know what they are doing and do not care about the pets they groom! I feel so bad for leaving my dog with them and never will again. They do not know how to cut nails properly and do not take care of the animals while holding them there for several hours. My dog had clearly not been given water or let out to go to the bathroom for the seven hours she was there! I called to check on my dog multiple times because they keep them here for so long- they didn't mention any issues over the phone and eventually told me she was ready. I show up and can hear my dog barking when I walk in which is unusual. I wait over ten minutes for them to bring her out and her back paw is soaked in blood. They don't even say sorry and try to say that her dew claw was in her paw (I know that it wasn't when I dropped her off). They tell me they had to "dig it out" and that it wont stop bleeding. I asked them why they didn't let me know before they touched it to see what I wanted to do about it- so that a vet could handle it if it was really that bad. I asked why they didn't let me know that it wouldn't stop bleeding and they said that it just happened right before I got there, but the blood all over her paw was dried and black because it had oxidized over some time. They knew it was bad and didn't even try to make me pay for the service. One of the employees started to tell me where the nearest emergency vet was....The owner was right there and didn't say anything at all and the groomer started arguing with me. I can clearly tell that she cut the nail way too far up, cutting the quick which is very basic grooming knowledge. read more

I wanted to like this place. Good location. A bit pricey but that's okay if they do a good job. I am not even saying they did not do a good job.. My problem is they did not listen. I took my 2 dogs for the first. One is a Standard Poodle. When I made the appointment I said I wanted a smooth cut. When I arrived I said the same thing.No poufy ears or long hair on top. She is a rescue. We have a doggy door and she goes in and out rain or shine. She is white. She's happy and stays much cleaner just cut smooth. I guess the groomer decided she needed to be cut like a show dog. My husband picked them up. She looks lovely. I paid $90. And they ignored what I ask for. read more

They were able to get me in for an appointment the next day which was convenient, but it was fairly expensive for the results. Also I left a tip before they brought my dog out which was a mistake. I asked them to give my dog a "trim" and take an inch or so off - he's a Great Pyrenees with pretty long fur, so I figured he'd still have some length afterwards. I told them they could use the clippers if it was easier than a scissor trim, I just didn't want him buzzed... they gave him a buzz and now he looks like a completely different dog and not in a good way. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I took my docile foxhound for a nail trimming and bath/deshedding. Dropped off at 10am, they called to say he was finished at 12:30pm. I picked him up at 2pm as agreed upon, and found him BLEEDING PROFUSELY due to a severely clipped toenail (in attached photo you can see where a significant amount of tissue was removed). I can only assume that the nail had been bleeding for the full 1.5 hours since he was finished. His jowls were bloody from licking the area, and his paw was DRIPPING blood across the floor. The woman who brought him to the front was very agitated and had clearly had enough. My dog was absolutely distraught. She unsuccessfully tried for about 10 minutes to stop the bleeding while I waited, then finally gave up and wrapped it with a makeshift bandage. She was impatient and ill-tempered with him during this time, which really bugged me. The nail bled off and on for two days. Ironically, my goal had been to get him spiffed up before leaving him with a friend for the weekend. Unfortunately, I instead delivered a traumatized and injured dog who bled all over my friend's carpet for two days. To add - quite literally - insult to injury, this woman blamed my dog for the injury, stating that he had broken the nail himself. However, the attached photo shows that this was caused by a clean cut during nail trimming. DO NOT take your pets to this business. read more

Not professional and expensive. I drove 25 minutes to get my puppy groomed and when I got there was told they were unable to do anything to his coat only cutting down around his face and nails.... Not paying $60 for that...the person answering the phone is the first point of contact and should've asked the appropriate questions especially for a new client. They would've known he was a puppy had they asked instead of wasting a customer time. read more

This was my first time at Bow Wow Boutique and I dropped off one of my two Yorkies and I have never been this happy with how his face was shaped!! The groomer suggested tipping his ears, which my previous groomer had never mentioned in four years, and it was exactly what he had been missing! I was walking my dog today and I passed by this dog salon and saw many people bringing their dogs in. I thought how wonderful it would be to support a small, local business so I went inside. It's conveniently located right by my house so I dropped my dog off to get her nails trimmed and just ran home for a short two minutes to get my card to pay. I paid, picked her up, and we walked home. 2 minutes later, I looked down and noticed her paw was BLEEDING. I have never had this happen before at ANY of the PetSmarts I have taken her to. I took her back and was furious. I reluctantly gave her back so that the woman could clean her nails. I will never be coming back and I will be telling all of my friends with dogs about this traumatic experience. I called PetSmart and scheduled an appointment to have her nails checked and have her groomed. I do not recommend this place. read more

While I appreciated that my dog was able to be squeezed in last minute and that his haircut looked great, when I picked him up his back paw was bleeding (I didn't notice until we we're driving home and I saw the blood on my shirt and the car seat) and he had the smell of cigarettes in his fur. It wasn't a strong smell, but he did need another bath once we got home. My usual groomer has never mentioned an issue with him acting up when his paws are touched, so I was surprised. read more

I recently took my 2 dogs to get groomed. I was assured that they were just finishing up with my older dog. Standing in the entrance for a minute, I could hear my dog whimpering from the back room and the lady grooming her was repeatedly yelling at my dog to "be quiet!" and "stop whining!". My dog is very docile has always behaved well with other groomers. I could hear her continue to whine and get yelled at until another lady went back to "help" the other groomer. I will never return to a place that treats my dogs like that. I was disgusted by the behavior of this groomer. read more

***THEY DO ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS NOW!*** I love this groomer for our standard poodles, bichon frise and shihtzu dogs. Best we have found in cincinnati and we have tried MANY. They know their dog breeds/cuts. Dogs stay nice looking for a longer time. They are very nice. Price is great. Building is older and small, but you can stand there and watch as they groom if you need to see what they are doing. Everywhere I take my poodle (my service dog) I get stopped and complimented on her look--most people think she has just been groomed for several weeks afterwards--even other groomers compliment how nicely she is groomed. I have never had a bad experience here! Don't let the store front throw you off, they offer a great service. Everyone at Bow-Wow Boutique is so nice and you can tell they care for the dogs. It is so easy to get an appointment and they are extremely efficient. Their prices are hard to beat as well. Not as ritzy as other grooming places, but they took great care of my nervous pit mix. He's very sweet but STRONG and very uneasy at places like the groomer, but they worked with him get him all groomed, trimmed, and handsome. Awesome prices too! read more

This place is great! They always treat max well. They call me promptly once he's done. The prices are reasonable. It is just what I need I take my Schnoodle here every month. They even give me tips when I ask how to better care for my pet. I would recommend them. For Christmas they give the pups a treat bag which was very cute. They now take credit cards. read more

This place was awesome. We needed to get our dog groomed quickly and they were able to get me in the next day. He's a terrier so we like to keep his face on the longer side which doesn't always turn out how we expect. They did great and he smelled lovely. Also, most of the other places we take him are usually around $20 or $30 dollars more. We will for sure be coming back here! Oh and they had him done in 2 hours, which is unheard of. If you love your dog, do not send them here. This place has made my dogs nails bleed and when I have picked her up, there was brown stuff on her face. I asked what that was from and the groomer said "oh probably rust from the cage" excuse me what???? And not to mention the groomer was yelling at a senior citizen dog on the table getting groomed when I walked in. They did give me a courtesy call to tell me my dogs appointment was over, and after that conversation I was butt dialed. I answered and could hear nothing but the groomers yelling at the dogs in the background. Awful, awful people. read more
