Bring your dog and try on the life jackets
Jill M.

Easiest purchase ever! Our beagle needed her first doggy life vest and we shopped online saw what was available at Petsmart in our neighborhood and arrived with dog on leash. Thankfully we could try them on her and discovered she is not a small; she has the girth of a medium dog. We would have never known this shopping online. Howard the store clerk greeted us at the door asked what kind of help we needed, walked us to the lifejackets, waited patiently while we tried them on and then actually walked us to a register that he opened just for us to make the purchase. Bitsy tried out her life vest later that day. The handles made getting her back on the boat as easy as shopping for it.

PLEASE READ BEFORE SCHEDULING A GROOMING SERVICE IN THIS LOCATION. Bad grooming experience in this location. We scheduled a full bath and hair cut service online. And dropped him on time. So far, everything seems to be good. We talked with the groomer how we want to trim him. And we also paid $15 for brush and demat service. This is what we told the groomer and she agrees, "Take half of the hair off on body, leave the hair on ear as it is and a little short on his feet." Sounds normal and clear instructions, right? But when we went and picked him up, we couldn't even recognize that is him. They didn't trim him as what we discussed. THEY SHAVED ALL HIS HAIR OFF!! They didn't even follow a single thing we agreed on. And they didn't give us a call to talk about the change. And no words to explain why they shaved all his hair when we picked him up. Just asked us to go and pay the bills. We feel like they just want to do their job quickly and complete the service in the easiest way. And they didn't actually care how they treat him and the quality of the service. And he was also so scared and screaming when he saw us. The groomer told me he doesn't like to groom, so I can't imagine how they forced him to complete the grooming. And after came back home, he stays in his crate and doesn't want to come out. He becomes timid and vigilant. Again, dear friends who are considering to bring your furry friend here for grooming. PLEASE please your furry friend deserves better.

Ahh, Petsmart! I'm in here about as often as I'm in Harris Teeter which sort of makes sense. I'm pretty sure my bengal cat is part pig, he definitely enjoys his food... Must take after dad! While I'd love to shop at a non-chain pet store, Petsmart does a good job in terms of food, toys and other accessories. They've got a nice assortment of fish, lizards, birds and often have pet adoption days onsite. There's also a Banfield's Veterinarian area where you can pick up pet meds. The employees are all pretty nice and definitely animal people. Love checking out the dogs over at the boarding area, it's fun to watch them mess around with each other as they adjust to their temporary "pack"! The only downside I've seen at Petsmart is their policy for allowing pets into the store. While it's fun to play with someone else's dog at the checkout register, I'm not much one for trying to dance around piddly puddles or poopy piles! Seriously, and I don't blame the animals, just the owners! I once saw an old dude walking his bulldog around, let the dog take a dump in the main aisleway and then just walked off as if nothing happened. Totally disgusting and nasty! I'd hate to see that guy's home... But other than errant and lazy customers, Petsmart will keep your pet happy and entertained for a reasonable price. Yeah it's a chain but sometimes that can be a good thing...

I received 5 star service at this location. The store employees provided great customer service and talked through options for car sickness for our puppy. The cashier was super nice, too. This was also our puppy's first groom. They did great and were super nice throughout the check in and check out process. They trimmed just as discussed. She was so clean, soft, and fluffy. They will now be our regular groomer.

Millie after a shampoo and cut! Happy dog!!

Lately, we seem to have an issue with getting the dog washed or nail-clipped there. They claim the dog is being aggressive by showing her teeth to the tech. We even gave the dog Gabapentin which was recommended by the Gentle Care Animal Hospital but still, they couldn't finish the assignment and blamed her (the dog) for being too aggressive. Our dog is not aggressive, she probably just didn't like what was being done to her. The clinic is supposed to know how to handle larger dogs in similar situations and not make excuses all the time. If this would be super easy, we would have done this ourselves. This is your line of business and you should be able to tackle slightly more complicated than straightforward assignments... This happened to us there (at Gentle Care Animal Hospital at Tryon) on several occasions even as we followed pre-procedure procedures given by Gentle Care Animal Hospital. Tried discussing this with the local manager (I think her name was Becky Stevenson) but that didn't help. We will not be returning there and be taking our business elsewhere.

Armadale Farm Kennel - Tonight. Completely happy, loved and exhausted from play

My dog is timid and does not usually get along well with other dogs or people (apart from myself and a select few). However, she loves the Armadale staff! It is such a reassuring feeling knowing she is being taken care of and loved on while we are away. The staff are also able to accommodate by taking her out alone and not during group play. I love that the kennel also offers grooming services that can be completed during their stay. I highly recommend the staff at Armadale!

This place is fantastic…read more After my baby was born, and my dog's temperament changed (loves the baby, loves other dogs, hates everyone else) and we struggled with finding him a place to stay that would accept him for his dumbness and awesomeness. Our vet recommended this place as a venue that was known for working well with dogs who could be a pain in the butt. (That's not to say all dogs who come here have attitude problems, most of them don't) but if your pup can be a pain with strangers, Armadale works with the dogs comfort level, making them happy and giving you a sense of relief when you have to leave them for a bit. Fast forward two years later, our dog is happy to go here, and when we do have to leave town or have visitors come over to stay, I know he's happy and in good hands. The groomers here are especially patient with my dog, know his quirks and they are always able to send him back to me clean and polished up. The staff here really treats the dogs that come for a stay with the same love and attention as their own. They have a variety of options for activities and treats for the dogs and cats, including a Sunday brunch and play time with report cards. The a la cart menu can add up, but it's nice to be able to have the choice of these options making you and your pup feel right at home.

There is a nice outdoor area where they could walk around when they wanted to, but mostly they enjoyed the love and attention they got from Terri and her family. I got nice pictures of my two being spoiled!
