Your dog's safety is not their concern only making money. Find other options! I have used Camp Bow Wow for two years for boarding, prior minor incidents...however, this last stay he was there for 8 days.... when I picked him up (545pm Saturday July 6th) he seemed ok, when I got home and I inspected his neck...he had severe skin irritation and his hair was clumped like dread locks...nobody did anything to help my dog likely his entire stay. In addition he also had an infection on his front paw (claw) ...that needed medical attention from his vet. While this was not life threatening, I had to wait til Monday to see a Vet. Needless to say, we will never return and I hope their careless ownership and management staff learns a valuable lesson. They took no responsibility and hid behind the waiver I signed. Oh, $55 a day for My dog to be ignored and thrown in a kennel. Heading back to Biscuit Garden or Green Level Kennel and planning his boarding well in advance. Cody is a Golden Retriever who is 100lbs and a gentle giant always happy to see people. I will not post the response from Camp Bow Wow because the assistant manager did apologize but otherwise offered nothing, I asked them to refund his $117 vet bill and they declined...but I will say that their ownership took no responsibility and claimed they were un reachable for a family emergency...awful convenient...I wonder how many times they use that excuse?? Shady and immoral business practices. First time boarding my dogs and decides to give this place a chance. Despite reading its many negative reviews I decided to disregard them. DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE. First day with camp bow wow our dogs returned after one day of camp (not even over night) and they reeked of urine and feces. The facility is filthy and smelly. The staff are unenthusiastic and the owner is rude. Despite all the above we had already had a deposit down and decided to see it through. We put a deposit down 45 days in advance and we're told a specific price and we budgeted for it since our dogs were staying 9 nights. When we came to pick our dogs up we checked out only to discover we were overcharged $64 over the price we budgeted for. After calling the manager they refused to refund the price stating they had changed the price 10 days before our stay (35 days after our deposit where we were told the price would be $64 less). We spoke to the owner on the phone about this and she just reiterated the manager. On the call whenever my wife chimed in she would interrupt to tell her that she wasn't the account holder and that she wasn't apart of the conversation. RUDE, FILTHY, AND IMMORAL If you want your dogs to be cared for, clean, and you want transparent business practices go anywhere else. With the new price change you'll pay the same amount everywhere else but with much higher quality service and cleaner facilities. read more

CBW takes the time to evaluate your dog with a free one day session. Our dogs got a lot of exercise and socializing. I'd give Camp Bow Wow Cary a 2 out of 5 stars now that I've used them several times. My main criticism is that I've sent my two dogs to camp and they've come back with the same amount of energy that I dropped them off with. They don't provide toys due to potential aggression issues and - If you watch the cameras like I do - your dog(s) are placed in a room with a cement floor and all they do is walk in circles all day. Seeing this, I'd rather pay a local kid to take my dogs out for a walk vs spending $60ish for "day care." read more

Wow, love this place. Second time I've taken my dog for boarding for the week while on vacay. They have cams I can view in day and give me a report card on him at end of the week. They take very good care of him and are reasonably priced. I used to go to Carolina ranch-yuk. Way overpriced and they try to up charge you on everything. No cams and no pics unless you pay on FB. We have three dogs total and only one can participate as my other two didn't pass their interviews, which was perfectly fine. Not all dogs are made a match! Our frenchie Tony Stark absolutely loves Camp Bow Wow and the staffers have always been so pleasant. The managers and owners have always made an effort to ensure we are happy and satisfied. The best part? I can watch Tony via virtual cameras to ensure he is living his best life (and he always is living his best life). Stay away! Should have gone with my gut from the start. After 2 visits my older dog didn't want to go in the door and he is a very mild mannered dog. Took my puppy there. First day was too much energy for a pup and they didn't notice. Second day I asked that she be given a break and they accommodated. Third time I asked if they could continue the break and the manager gave me an abrupt very rude "we can't do that" even though they had done it before. She is obviously caring more for her bottom line than for your dogs best interest. This place is a bad situation for your dog. They put them in a pen with a bunch of other her dogs and 1 person walking around in a circle. You can watch it happening on video. Several times I would look and the person was not even paying attention to what was happening around her. They are not reading the dogs behavior well at all. If u have a smart breed this walking around in circles on a concrete floor is not enough stimulation and can only add to nervous behavior. read more

I was not impressed with this place at all. While the guy at the desk that showed me around was okay, the facility past the desk where they keep and let the dogs play was very smelly!! They keep all the cages for boarding right along side with the play area for the dogs. And while they claim that they have 4 outdoor play areas, it's more like 4 small patios to just let the dogs relieve themselves. So don't be fooled. There isn't a huge outdoor fenced in area that they can run around in....and no one is supervising them when they come inside and outside...since they can walk in/out as they please. The doors are always open and separated by plastic slates. And for the dogs that choose never to go outside to relieve themselves, they do it inside. Lovely. No wonder it smells in there...and the dogs are subjected to that while they nap/sleep since the cages are right next to the play area. Oh, and no one is on-site at nights while your dog is sleeping...they only monitor through web-cam/security system. Not a fan of that at all....will be researching other boarding options. read more

Incredibly disappointed. Was recommended to Lauren Byers at Camp Bow Wow for in home dog training. I did my due diligence, had a phone call with her and other trainers and ultimately agreed on a few dates to get started with her. We were eager to get started on our leash reactivity issues, and really loved her methodology. Fast forward about a month after our research to the week that we were supposed to have our session - I called the front desk daily and emailed daily because we never got confirmation on what time she'd be coming, so I still hadn't paid. I kept leaving my name and number and explained I was just trying to find out when Lauren was coming, and once that was confirmed, I would pay. The day she was supposed to come came and went and I still never heard from her via phone, email, nothing. I emailed her for a 5th or 6th time explaining how disappointed I was because we had told other trainers no in order to work with her. We waited months for nothing. I was hoping I would have heard from her by now with an apology or an excuse but I haven't heard anything so I am leaving this review so others can know that Camp Bow Wow's follow and logistics for in home training specifically is awful. read more

I have never left a negative review in my life, but the owners of this company have zero respect or concern for their customers. The first time we boarded our dogs we dropped off four bones for our dogs to enjoy during their stay, and they were returned to us completely unwrapped, and we were told "your dogs weren't interested in the bones," which was obviously untrue. The second time we boarded them for nine nights after giving a $180 deposit 45 days in advance, and when we picked up our dogs they overcharged us. When I spoke with a manager she absolutely refused to give us a refund for the amount that we overpaid, stating that they increased their prices 10 days prior to our stay. We were never informed of the price increase until we picked our dogs up. The owner of the company called me, only to refuse to speak with me about the matter since my husband was the one who made the reservation. While he spoke to her, if I chimed in during the call she would interrupt me to say, "Ma'am I cannot address you, only your husband." In the end, we never got the refund we deserved. read more

I explained that she is deaf and doesn't interact with other dogs. She loves her sister Sandy our other rescue dog, but she likes people. She'll chill by herself. Instead of making me feel excited about Camp Bow Wow she made me not want to bring my dogs. She explained that Camp is a high profile dog facility, they get a large amount of dogs. So I said " I guess you don't have the time or patience for Lilly? And she basically told me to find another place, it sounds like Lilly is going to fail. And she hasn't met Lilly yet? My dog loves camp bow wow. In fact once he realizes that I am taking him there he gets very excited. Once we walk inside the front entrance, he practically climbs over the short door to get to the other dogs. I have never seen any problems with the facility. The staff are friendly as well. My dog always comes home worn out and tired from playing all afternoon. We usually take him there about once a week. I would definitely recommend the camp to my other friends. I give the review 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons. It would be nice if they had a swim area more often for the dogs and also the online video streaming quality could be improved. read more

They're friendly and take an interest in the care of our doggies. Also, the facility is always clean. I am not a fan of this place in the least. My dog was not new to the daycare experience. That being said, she needed some interaction encouragement from the staffer inside the small dog pen, due to the change in environment and new circle of potential pup friends. I voiced my concerns to various staff during our three visits, both in-person and via phone. Everything was sweetness and light to my face, yet the play-area doggie cam did not lie. "Who's your dog again?" was a constant refrain when I called. My dog just sat by the gate, and sat. And sat. The staffer who constantly circled the play area never interacted with my dog, despite my numerous requests. I saw him immediately after one telephone call interacting with two other white dogs, but neither of them was mine. There she sat by thevgate. Another dog relieved himself near mine, the staffer retrieved a wet mop, then left the mop inside the play area. Some staffer(s) arbitrarily elected not to nap my dog on that third day to "help her integrate", despite my lengthy submitted application that clearly stated that she needed her naps. There she sat by the gate. I contrarily responded to an email from the male owner, Neil Bleau, requesting me to Yelp and Google+ a favorable review for his business. Sadly but expectedly, he did not possess the courtesy to personally respond. I played phone and email tag with "Summer" who I later discovered to be an owner, but grew weary of leaving messages and being told she was not there when I called back. I have happily secured another daycamp option for my dog. Certainly Camp Bow Wow Cary will not falter under this one review, as the place appears packed on the doggie cams. I do encourage dog owners to be conscientious and to not assume everything is fine and dandy because there are play-area cameras. read more

I just took my furry child in yesterday for the initial interview and I was so impressed! First off, I was late because of the road construction on Cary Pkwy and I couldn't find my way. I called and the girl gave me spot-on directions and I made it there only 5 mins late. They were so friendly and informative and my puppy seemed so at ease. They even call all the dogs "campers" which is just adorable! I left her there for 6 hours and she slept the entire night when she got home! Heck, I may drop her off there everyday as long as it helps with her energy level ;) I'm so anxious to try the daycare and overnight boarding with her! We liked the idea that we could watch our dogs on a live feed streaming! But we couldn't see them that often as they were in an area that was not viewable by the camera! When you walk in the door, the receiving area has a very foul odor! BUT What I REALLY HATED was that when we picked up our babies, they smelled like some unholy, putrid, disgusting odor! SOMETHING LIKE THE RECEIVING AREA BUT WORSE! At pick up T hey were wet down by the staff but not bathed! and they smelled so horrendous that we had to bath them twice after we got them home last Wednesday! I just bathed one of them for a 3rd time! When I complained, they would not let me speak to a manager or supervisor and offered a free day of doggie day care and bath. The person on the phone didn't act as if this never or rarely happened! She was rather glib about it. We won't be going back to the Cary Camp Bow Wow facility! But we are planning to check out Camp Bow Wow in Durham. It looks like a much nicer facility! But if it stinks as we walk in the door like the one in Cary, next time we go away, our dogs will not be staying at any Camp Bow Wow! PS I just read a very disturbing review of the Durham Camp Bow Wow, suggesting some animal abuse is taking place there! Next time we board them, we will be going back to the vet! read more

I brought my dog here to prepare for boarding; his regular doggie daycare only uses crates for overnight. I liked that Camp Bow Wow has little 'cozy cabins' and esp. love the web cam. But their outside runs are extremely small. And I didn't like the REALLY STRONG ODOR at the front door. That should have been a warning to me but the smelled subsided at the front desk. However, the ABSOLUTE AWFUL smell of my dog. He REEKED so bad I had to drive home with the windows down. He rarely needs a bath as he has so little of the dog smell and dirt just falls off his coat but he needed a bath and an airing outside before he was able to come inside again. I've had dogs come home from boarding smelling a bit like pee but never this sort of RANK, STRONG ODOR. And he NEVER smells bad when he comes home from his usual doggie daycare. So something is definitely WRONG at Camp Bow Wow. read more

We have been bringing our dog to Camp Bow Wow Cary for the past couple of years after switching from a different dog boarding facility. Gus used to come home stressed out and exhausted after a week of boarding. But at Camp Bow Wow he doesn't. Absolutely terrible customer service. I had an unfortunate experience as a new customer due to miscommunication from their staff as well as inaccurate information listed on the website. As a result I missed my flight and had to reschedule my flight and my vacation plans. Once I returned I called to speak to the manager to let them know what happened and to recommend updating their website so other customers don't have the same issue. I was immediately treated like the enemy. She was rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. And to my surprise, I was talking to the owner! I wasn't even asking for a refund or discount, although I expected the store to offer one given what happened. I also wonder how my dog was treated if this is the way they treat the owners! (The cameras aren't on all the time) I will NEVER use Camp Bow Wow again because of how the owner handled the situation. I hope she matures and improves her business model and customer service, for her sake. read more

I came across an unenthusiastic group manning a booth for Camp Bow Wow at en event in historic Apex. The flyer seemed fun and I chalked up the group's behavior to the heat. After filling out an online application I find I have to wait to be called for an interview. I get it, I work in a luxury field, but I needed to find a day care for my dog so I also stopped in. It turns out the lack of enthusiasm wasn't the heat. I was told the manager left for the day and I had to speak to her. I left my phone number and the next day I get a call while driving my car. I asked if I could call back in 5 minutes after I find a place to pull over, fine. I do that, I hit redial, and get a woman on the line who quite surly proceeds to tell me that no one called me even though I'm explaining that I hit redial from a call that came in on my line. I ask to speak to the manager, she tells me she is the manager, then laughs. That was enough for me, like other Yelp reviewers I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I love Camp Bow Wow in Cary! My dog, Chai, started going to this location earlier this year and has been loving it. She gets super excited when we pull into the parking lot and is ready for some sleep when head home. I enjoy being able to check in on her via the webcam and she clearly enjoys playing. The staff is nice and some (not all) recognize and know Chai's name when we arrive. I definitely plan to continue to take Chai to Camp Bow Wow. read more

We have been taking Chelsea, our chocolate lab, to Camp Bow Wow for over a year. We mainly use Camp Bow Wow for the doggy day care service, but we have also boarded her there. I would recommend Camp Bow Wow whether just dropping your dog off for a day of play or boarding her overnight. I also love the doggy cam feature. I love being able to check on her while at work or out of town. Another huge plus is that you can really tell that the counselors are very friendly and you can tell they really love dogs. My dog has been going to daycare at least once a week here for months now and she loves it. She is always beyond thrilled when she sees the building and is a happy but exhausted girl when I bring her home. The staff is wonderful! They are all so nice and really care about my dog. I had to board her for 3 days last month for the first time and I was very worried about how she would handle it. The staff took the time to update me when I called in the middle of the trip to tell me how she was acting and how her eating habits were. The hours for pick up and drop off for daycare are also great, 7 AM to 7 PM. read more
