The reviews here on Yelp almost made me second-guess Pupsi. It's conveniently located by my job and home, so I decided to try Pupsi for myself. So far my pup has been here twice. Once for day care and another time for grooming. I was pleased with both services. I do feel on the grooming pickup was very transactional and fast. I felt rushed! The front desk also questioned if I wanted more hair cut while the groomer was still present. All of this taking place before I saw my baby. I was asked to answer gratuity prompts to pay before they even brought my pup out. Without seeing my puppy I had no way of determining a proper gratuity. I do like to tip for services when satisfied. All in all, I'm pleased with how my pup is when he leaves and he seems to love Pupsi so far. The groomers did exactly what I requested. We look forward to coming back soon. read more

I want to preface this review by saying I was SO excited about Pupsi. I was nervous about boarding our dog for the first time as we took our newborn baby to visit family across the country, but Pupsi was highly recommended by a dear friend. My beagle even went to daycare here a few times before his stay so he would be familiar - and seemed to love it each time! Unfortunately, his stay the first week of August 2023 was riddled with issues that we are still dealing with. I was disappointed that we received zero updates or photos of Copper during his stay. The only time we heard about how Copper was doing was when we reached out and initiated a conversation. We only received back a very vague statement "eating and playing well!" Not one little detail? Not a single photo? I'm not even convinced they knew who my dog was, but instead just sent out this blanket statement to anyone who texted them looking for an update. (Don't bother calling - they won't answer or call back.) I mean, c'mon it's 2023 - they should at least be updating their socials daily with pictures. Even more troubling are the health and hygiene issues we've been dealing with since his return from Pupsi. Upon picking up Copper, I noticed that he had a bad eye infection - red eye, yellow gunk, lots of pawing at his eye. How was this not noticed by their "professionally trained" staff? And if it was noticed, why weren't we notified immediately? We also noticed copper was itchier than usual. When taking him to the vet two days later, we found out he was infected with FLEAS while in their care. We have a newborn baby who wiggles around on the floor - and have since noticed flea bites on her as well. This has been extremely upsetting. How are we supposed to remedy this flea situation with a newborn? We have no choice but to hire a professional exterminator. When reaching out to Pupsi about our situation, instead of showing concern, they placed blame on us. They claimed that he must have gotten the fleas and eye infection after leaving Pupsi. Do they mean from the 15-minute car ride it took for my father-in-law to drive from Pupsi directly to the airport where we first noticed these problems? That just isn't logical. Quite frankly, their response was rude, cold, and lacked any sort of customer service mentality. The vet, pediatrician, and cleaning costs we will endure from the issues caused by Pupsi will far surpass the expenses for our dog to stay there. We entrusted him in their professional care and they failed time and time again. We will be looking elsewhere for our dog in the future, and you should consider doing the same. read more

It has been years since I've had a dog. When I got this dog he was just a puppy and full of himself. Not having access to any services where I live now except vet services I was lost about where to start. Having lived in Cary for 35 years and knowing lots of people, Pupsi came highly recommended. So i five q hour to get the Pupsi experience. My dog is very social and has never met a stranger. It was interesting for me to see the lay out of the facility and be able to watch my dog interact with other dogs his size. They have always been helpful in answering questions and helping me navigate the system. I have used them for boarding, grooming and doggie day care and cannot say enough good things about them. It impresses me how clean the facility is and how strict they are about vaccination records and flea and tick prevention records. My dog loves this place. When I ask if he wants to go to pupsi he goes to the door ready to go. He has a little friend there also so when I mention her he gets excited. Trace has always been very helpful and upfront about what is expected of the dog and me. I can't say enough about this place and Trace. Thank you for making us feel special and for all the patience administered with me trying to manover their system. (I'M a bit technology challenged) The staff is also great and very helpful. Wow, so full disclosure I didn't even board my dog here. I called to see if they had the capability to board my problematic Frenchie for a week. He's exhibited some aggressive behavior in the past and he has to be boarded at specific places with professionals who can handle that... which is why I always check first. I've worked at Pupsi since the summer of 2022, on and off, because I'm in college. Prior to working at this job, I had zero kennel experience. I've never had an issue with any of my co-workers; there was never a shift where we weren't joking and playing around while cleaning the kennels or doing our closing duties. Trace is a very nice and funny guy to work for. He definitely cares about his employees, which is what I liked most about this job. For a new employee who only worked one day to write such an in-depth bad review is strange. New employees are always put in the small yard; you allowed small dogs to trample you... all you had to do was stand up love. One thing that I learned when I first started working at this location is that it is very fast-paced, and you have to keep up. If you fail to do so, you will be told that you're moving slow. It's not to be rude; it's to let you know that you have to move faster. We're all adults, and we should all be able to handle criticism. Trace has cameras in the kennels, the hall, outside showing all of the yards, by the back door, and the grooming area. Just as you would have cameras in any other establishment, he has his. If a dog were to get hurt, these cameras would come in handy. I don't think any dog parents would be upset about the cameras, and neither should any employees unless you're doing something on the clock that you shouldn't be doing. We do put our belongings in lockers, and that's for the dog's safety. No one should be on their phone while watching the dogs. If a fight does happen to break out between the dogs and you need to contact someone, we wear mics so we're able to call to the people working inside and let them know that we need help outside. We definitely let the dogs play; if we see that it's getting rough and their body language is changing, we intervene by either spraying them with the hose or tossing a jug that is not FULL of pennies; it has maybe 3-4 pennies in it lol. I had to cancel my trip to Canada for this July due to COVID19 and asked about how long the deposit would be good for. I was told end of the year. You would think, given what has happened this year with all businesses, that Trace would be more flexible, but oh hell no. I told him fine, l would try and use it before year end but that I'd have to find my dogs some other place, which was a shame since my dogs love it. Customer service is awful, the guy up front is the worse. Never admits fault to anything, very defensive, never apologizes. Very condescending towards any issue we ask. After more than 3 separate run ins the past year with the guy up front, we decided to take our money elsewhere. The only thing they have going for them is the convenient location. I try to give people grace & being that this place can highly recommended the standard was already set extremely high. Such a disappointment for a first time puppy cut. I wish I would've had the opportunity to really look at his hair prior to leaving but it was extremely choppy, his fur has lines chopped all in it, his ears are uneven & he just doesn't look like a puppy. AVOID PUPSI IN CARY FOR BOARDING--I can't find a vacation foster for my foster dog for 2 weeks in July so I went online to Pupsi to see what they had. They require a day of daycare before boarding so I completed that and paid for it and went online that night to request the 14 days of boarding and see how much that would cost. I wasn't sure if taxes would be included or any other fees. As I went through the process, it took several screens before I found the final amount. Once I got to that final amount, I called the rescue to make sure that it was OK, but the amount was too much, and they said to use a different kennel. By then I closed the window without submitting my boarding request to get to the final page. That was Thursday night. Friday I got a boarding confirmation and replied to them asking them to please cancel it because I never submitted the request after seeing the amount. Pepsi has absolutely positively after multiple emails refused to refund my money. They are keeping $233. They say that I agreed on the very first screen that they could keep 1/3 of the total amount if I cancel, and they consider it canceling. They said that the reason they tell you to look at the rates on their main page is that the charger goes through without you seeing the final amount that they're going to charge on your card. Just absolutely horrible. And the guy was rude on the email and they refused to call me even though I keep asking Trace to please call so we can discuss this. I will avoid them at all cost in the future, and they are just a bad business model. read more

Pupsi is awesome! I have been taking my dog to Pupsi 2-3 days per week for about two years for doggie day care. They remembered my name and my dogs name after our first visit and continue to be super friendly. The dogs get to play outside all day long (they have pools for them in the hot summer) and the small breeds are kept separate from the larger ones so that everyone stays safe. My dog has never come home with ticks / fleas / illnesses / injuries afterward, but she does come home exhausted (in the good way). We've been taking our 7 year old Boxer to Pupsi for 5 years, and our 4 year old Brittany since we adopted her a few years ago. Both dogs start going crazy with excitement as soon as I pull into the parking lot to drop them off, and practically drag me inside. The staff is very friendly and they get to know you and your dogs by name. Even after 6 months without a stay, when I call and mention my dogs' names, they know exactly who we are. I have only used the grooming at Pupsi, so this review is for the grooming only. I have taken my biggest dog there several times now and each time has been great. I have a retriever/lab mix that is about 65 pounds. He's got longish hair but I get him shaved. They do a great job shaving and bathing him. They also trim his nails. They always do the lion cut like I ask and leave some on his tail and around his head. They always cut him super short like I ask. It's easy to make an appt. and the appt. is a one day thing, you drop off in morning and pick up in the afternoon so it makes it really easy for those of us that work full time. I have to confirm among other reviews that Trace is the biggest douchebag I've ever met in my entire life. The whole time I took my dog to daycare here I prayed to god that Debbie was working front desk. Trace would always talk to me like I'm stupid and we had our final argument today. The lack of professionalism is appalling. I was met with questions like "are you good?" When I would ask a question and needed clarification. The final straw was deciding to book for boarding and having an uneasy feeling after dropping my dog off due to the interaction I had with Trace. The feeling made me so uneasy I made arrangements to pick my dog up that day even though I was set to leave town because I couldn't in good conscience leave my dog for the weekend with this monster of a human. I was still charged full price, robbed of $100, and given no apology or any sort of respect as a human being. Please head the warnings on these reviews. Pupsi was so great it inspired me to write my first Yelp review. Overall, the place is wonderful and they live up to their slogan of putting dogs first. Most boarding places scare my partner and I since we have a large dog and these places tend to stick them into very small places. However, Pupsi understands and accommodates the needs of all dogs and sizes. Danielle was an amazing groomer and took us for a tour around the place even without our asking. Any place that volunteers a look-around gets an extra star by me. Danielle even took the time to look up our dog's breed since she's a rare shepherd dog, and determine what is best for her. When our pup came out, she was stunning and looked like she had had the day of her life. There are few businesses that impress me this much, and Pupsi is one of them. I like to do my research on places, especially when it comes to care for our four-legged daughter. Family-owned places are generally far better, but Pupsi takes the cake. I am an overly protective dog mother -- like obsessively overly protective and I wouldn't trust anyone other than Pupsi with my two pups. I have a 2 year old cockapoo and she is pretty anti social when it comes to being around other dogs as she was attacked badly last year in a dog park. She absolutely LOVES going to Pupsi -- like pees her little pants when the people come out from the back to get her into the play pen. She is still incredibly anti social and shakes a bit at first from anxiety when placed into the pen, but the people at Pupsi are so great they literally hold her in the pen for hours or until she feels comfortable. During winter if her winter coat she owns is still too thin, the people at Pupsi will tuck her right into their coat until she warms up. HUGE shout out to Shaila who is a employee here and spent weeks just carrying Amelia around and loving on her while she got over her initial anxiety of other dogs after the attack. Shaila is now one of my dog's top 5 favorite people and whines and shakes her tail as hard as she can when she sees her. My other pup is a 5 year old boxer rescue who was abused before we got her. She LOVES Pupsi -- whines when we get near the parking lot, pulls as hard as she can to get into the back play pens, and comes home completely content and pooped from the long day of play. These one star reviews are either 1) unfounded 2) old as hell or 3) completely absurd. I take my dogs here 2-3x/week, and I peak over the fence every time (which you are 100% allowed to do -- even encouraged) and each time I see the employees greet my dogs by name and immediately treat them right. Whoever wrote the 1 star reviews clearly hasn't been to Pupsi recently because it is a dog haven and Trace (the owner) is an amazing laid back, but attentive/caring manager. read more

We are thrilled to have found Pupsi! Similar to Kirste, we don't trust any place with our dog. We have a 100lb rottie who is full of energy so it's important for us to be able to take her to a place that knows how to handle large dogs and also (thankfully) does not have breed restrictions! I knew I had to get her for some serious activity after I visited Pupsi's website and read several reviews. I was skeptical when I read the lower review ratings, but Pupsi's website is very thorough, so gave them a try and am so glad I did. Unbeknownst to me, I arrived after the drop off time. However, they were so kind and accommodating and took our gal and even did some training with her in the morning since she missed most of the morning play--thank you. That customer service alone made me want to return. Since then, we visit about two times a month and our dog is so excited every time we go. She comes back EXHAUSTED! They call it the Pupsi hangover. Even the next day she is mellow. Pupsi has several cameras and the staff have walkie talkies. When you arrive, staff will promptly bring your dog to you. The fenced play area is safe from the street and all in all I feel that my gal is in good hands. Play groups are separated by not only by size, but also play and energy level. If it's the dog's first time, the staff will do an observation to determine the best group for that dog. It is recommended to not feed your dog in the morning but instead bring the food in a disposable baggie so that your dog can be fed after the morning play (there is a break mid day for a few hours before the afternoon play). Pupsi has bowls, so no need to bring one. The only reason I don't give Pupsi 5 stars is because the pick up/drop off times can be hard to coordinate around (there are no mid-day pick up or drop off just morning drop off and evening pick up by 6pm). However, beyond that, the staff are easy to work with and really are a pleasure. I requested that our dog have a bath after the most recent play and the groomer did the best job! ...And we've been to several groomers. Our girl, who has a double coat, came back so clean and still smells great. The groomer did an excellent job with our dog's nails too. Give Pupsi a try! read more

We were looking for a place to board our 4 1/2 month-old puppy next week. This place had good prices and a neighbor recommended them. The woman I spoke to on the phone was fairly friendly and informative. She encouraged us to come in for a tour and said she had availability to board him next week. I told her I could be there before 5pm -which was the cut-off time to drop in for the tour. One the phone, the lady didn't really ask me too many questions about my dog except his age and weight. I told her he hadn't had his rabies shot but that he would be getting it this week. I told her that he was current on his other vaccines. She said she wasn't worried about that and that she trusted that he was under a veterinarians care.We got there at approximately 4:40pm (about 30 mins after I spoke with her on the phone). I was excited about seeing their facility after speaking with her on the phone, and gathered up my 3 kids and drove out there in the rain. We brought our dog with us, because I was thinking, "this is a dog establishment and it must be dog-friendly-right?", she never said anything about bringing him or not bringing him on the phone. We try to take our puppy as many places as we can to get him socialized and I wanted him to experience where he would be boarded before I just drop him off somewhere. When we got there, we were treated very coldly. It was really strange. Two teenage girls met us at the lobby and looked confused and then they got a guy who was covered in tattoos to talk to us -maybe the manager/owner? By the way, the lady at the desk (who I assume was the lady that I spoke to on the phone), was complaining (while she was on the phone with another customer), about how loud the dogs in the kennel were barking (wtf, you work at a dog kennel!!)?? The guy (manager?), was very rude and brusk. He acted like we were completely wasting his time. He didn't greet us and introduce himself or give his title, he just blurted out and asked if our dog had his shots! He didn't acknowledge our dog either, which was weird, because he is extremely cute and EVERYWHERE we take him, people dote on him and tell us how cute and well-behaved he his. He just gave our dog a disdainful glance and told us it was strange that we brought our dog with us for the tour and made us feel bad for coming to his establishment. My husband and I got a really bad, un-welcome vibe just from walking in the front door. and we declined the tour immediately based on how rude/and aggressive the guy was acting. There is no way in hell I would leave my sweet puppy with such cold and unfriendly people, and definitely won't be giving them any business in the future. I am completely baffled why any reputable business, who encouraged a potential customer to come in for a tour, would give such a horrible first impression. I took my puppy there for obedience training. It was over priced and not really the best. I also boarded him there twice. The first time he came home with raw paws from the heat of the asphalt that they run around on and the second time he came back limping. They took no ownership - said that's just what happens when they play. I have had him groomed there twice. The groomers are good except the first time they did not do his ears yet when I called back Mary (owner) argued with me that they had until i sent her a photo of them.. clearly they were not done. The main reason I will not be going back is because of Mary's attitude. She is completely rude and acts like she is doing everyone a favor. Left my dogs here for a week and when I picked up my female had a bad cut under her eye and my male had a severe lung infection. I was told the cut was their when I left the dog which is completely wrong as my vet agreed the cut was not over 3 days old. My male was very sick and and I was not informed of any of this.
