We looked into this establishment for training for our 1-yr-old dog who was having some issues with obedience, dominance, and excessive barking. They specialize in large breeds and I think do an extremely good job with those types of dogs. The trainer has extensive experience training K-9s for the police. Ultimately, however, we decided against using Pupsi to train our dog because he is a very small breed and we didn't feel Pupsi's methods would be the most effective for him. The trainer explained up front that this might be the case and invited us to come for an evaluation session. We decided to save the money and apply it with another trainer that works more with small dogs. But I do think that Pupsi would have been a very effective, and relatively affordable solution if we had a large breed. read more

This is a great place for day boarding your pup. My dog had a blast at Pupsi. He appeared to be very relaxed, content and hydrated during his stay. The staffs are kind, respectful and very caring. I think my dog had a good time at Pupsi, however the staff is not friendly nor very informative. When I asked how my dog did while he was there the guy in the front (which I think is the owner or manager) says "I don't know, I wasn't here", then he asks one of the girls and she also said she didn't know. A third person came from the back and gave spoke with me. The whole time I was there, this guy didn't even look my way, I felt like I was bothering him. Saw the "beds" where dogs sleep and it was piece of old blanket on the floor. I would not go there anymore mostly because of their rude manager. read more

Pupsi is about 40 minutes from where we live and is worth the drive! Our two mini schnauzers spent a week here for support on basic training and have been back for a weekend. The guys come back exhausted and sleep for a day, they love it. We have worked a lot with Trace who is wonderful and the guys love him. He has been immeasurably patient with me and my schedule! We used to like Pupsi and were pretty loyal customers, even sending our dog there for boarding after we moved further away. Unfortunately, when we just called to confirm our reservation for Thanksgiving (which we had booked months in advance since we're traveling to visit family on the west coast), they told us that our reservation had been changed from Nov. 25-30 to Nov. 20-23rd. We certainly did not make that change, but the people at Pupsi accepted no responsibility for the mix up, made us feel at fault, and we were told that we're just out of luck. So now we're scrambling last minute to find a place for our pup over the holidays, when everywhere is already full, and we'll be out a lot of money if we have to change our flights! We expected a lot more and are really disappointed (not to mention offended and stressed). We won't be using Pupsi again, and I wouldn't recommend sending your dog there over the holidays because you might get screwed, even if you have a long-standing reservation. read more

All in all a decent place to take your dog if you don't mind the owner being rude. I was in no uncertain terms called a liar regarding a mix up on pick up dates. This was our first and last experience at Pupsi. The trainer at the front desk, Trace, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. We asked if we could pick up our dog earlier than 4:00, since he is slightly overdue for his bordatella shot and could not play with the other dogs. He scoffed at us and mocked us for not wanting our pup to be in a kennel all day. When we came to pick our pup up from grooming at 4:00, Trace's first comment to us was, "Oh, here right at 4:00 on the dot to save your dog from the kennel right?" Wtf? As soon as we got him in the car, I noticed they had tightened his collar four notches tighter than we keep it...he was practically choking. I highly doubt they took him out over that 8 hour period he was there, because he peed for 2 whole minutes as soon as we got out of the car. Then when we got inside he drank a bowl and a half of water, which is not normal for him at all. I'm assuming he had no access to water all day. Last but not least, his haircut is choppy and poorly done. I would never give this place my business again based on Trace's attitude alone, but from what I can tell, my dog was mistreated as well. I love Pupsi. I have boarded my dogs there many times, done daycare and had 1 dog trained there. I have a new puppy, and when she is old enough, she will go there for training. They have always taken very good care of my dogs. One of the best things is that doggie daycare is included in the boarding price, not an add on! My grumpy old 100 pound dog even LIKES going there, and he's not fond of going most places, so I know they treat him well. read more

Not recommend at all. I boarded my dog there for a few days a couple weeks ago and thought highly of it at first... Then a day later I received a phone call saying my dog was injured... He was limping pretty badly(and is still currently limping)... The owner was what seemed to be sincerely sorry about his injury, but thinking about it I don't believe she cared at all... She had told us on pick up day that the vet would be there to check his leg out for us before he left. We get there and she "magically" had somewhere else to be. Not happy at all.... AND I brought his stuff in one of my own personal carriers for him which they ended up stealing from us. Id rather spend more money somewhere than to be lied to, and stolen from. I want to board my puppy somewhere that I'll know he'll receive the care he deserves and can guarantee his safety.. Which pupsi did not meet those need SAVE YOUR MONEY. read more

Let me start with how much I love Pupsi! I have a 5-yr old Great Dane that is a rescue. He is a bit timid. I also have a 2-yr old rescued chocolate lab that has so much energy he's like a rocket ship! I have used Pupsi for boarding, daycare and grooming. I mention my Dane's timid nature because when he sees Debbie - he immediately attaches to her - a rare occurrence! I have been incredibly pleased with the level of care, customer service - EVERYTHING! Both dogs come home happy and exhausted from play :). One review referred to Pupsi as a prison....not the case at all! During the summer heat, they rotate dogs in and out to ensure they aren't overheated. My labs pads have been a bit brushed up, but the Pupsi website clearly states that their specialty canine- friendly turf can do this if a dog is active. Did I mention my lab is a rocket??? My dogs are my children - and I only entrust their care to the best. That said - I've found it in Pupsi. read more

We took our first dog, Morgan to Pupsi to be trained 15 years ago. We were so impressed with the training and obedience of Morgan we made a point of returning to Pupsi the for training of our second dog, Roxy. We have been taking our dog Bailey to Pupsi for over a year now and are very happy with our choice. The staff is exceptional and shows they love dogs. I did want to make a few comments and clarifications to the most recent review. The dogs have three very large areas to run and play. They also have a large portion of each play area that is covered to protect the dogs from the weather. The dogs are rotated between the inside and outside at appropriate time intervals and even more frequently during severe cold or hot weather. If a dog is showing signs of getting cold or overheated, they do move them inside quickly. They have lots of dog sweaters/coats for use, and they do put them on the dogs when it is cold outside. You can also bring your own if you want. The comment that you can't leave your collar and lease at drop off is not accurate. There are an adequate number of hooks in the drop off area to leave them. I usually drop our dog off and pick her up, but there are times my husband will pick her up. I just leave the collar and lease on the hook, and they are there when he comes to take her home. In regards to the comment of dog being sprayed with a water hose, this is very appropriate intervention if needed. If redirecting the dogs does not work, it can become a safety issue for other dogs and possibly the workers when trying to break up a scuffle. Redirecting the dogs with a spray of the water hose gets the situation under control quickly. The dogs are not hosed down as the review made it seem, they are sprayed enough to break up the situation. Our dog comes home happy and exhausted daily from playing. Drop off and pick up times are reasonable. Most children daycare centers do not start drop off until 7:30. I start work at 8 am and drop off Bailey at 7:30 am. It takes me all of about two minutes at the most to get her into the building and get back in my car. Yes, I understand some people would like to have cameras, so they can watch their fur babies all day, but it really is not a necessity for us. We know she is in good hands and don't require to be on the computer all day watching her play. It really does come down to each person feeling comfortable with their doggy day care selection. We have plenty to choose from in Cary. We are very happy with our selection. We highly recommend Pupsi and have one happy pup to prove it. read more

Always review your credit card bill for charges. They do not give a receipt unless you request a copy of the bill! We dropped our dog off late afternoon and picked up before 8 am on the day we arranged. We checked our credit card and were over billed. We were very clear of our pickup date; but were over charged. We were charged an additional day. They had two different pick up dates and it was their accounting error. It should not have been a dispute or question on our part, but they still did not refund the overcharge in full. The staff is not friendly; the owner (I presume) it seems to pain him to be customer oriented and kind. read more

I don't even know where to start with this place it's not any place that you would take a dog that you even remotely love the little bit .it's more like a prison for dogs they say they take the dogs out for 4 or 5 hours in the morning you're lucky if your dog gets two hours in the morning especially in the winter. In the summer they're so cheap they don't want to pay their people that much they blame it on the heat and you're lucky[ if your dog gets two hours outside in the morning and two hours in the afternoon about 4:30 they start getting the dogs ready to go inside and they don't go out again until 7 am I call that abuse and they don't deserve any stars they are constantly yelling and screaming at the dogs the dogs are so afraid they literally Shake they just don't care they don't care about any of the dogs and they certainly don't treat their employees any better is supposedly the owner he treats the customers very very nice but as soon as you walk out the door he doesn't talk very nice things about you constantly. Debbie is as fake as they come she is so nice to your face but as soon as you leave she's actually even mean to your dog. If you love your dog even just a little bit please do not board your dog at there it'd worse then jail, and the reason they have cameras all over the boarding place is because they like to see when the owners coming so they say they're treating your dog with love but they don't they don't give a crap less about your dog read more

I was so disappointed after my dog's visit to Pupsi. I had previously taken my 2 other dogs to pupsi 10 years ago. We used them at least 10 times during their lives. They always came home happy and tired. I didn't even consider another kennel when we needed to board our new dog this time. He came home after having a 4 days stay with visible weight loss, an eye infection and tons of scabs all over his back. His behavior was noticeably off and he was very unhappy. I will never take him back there. I don't know if another dog gave him all the wounds on his back or if it was done during his grooming. But I do know that he got an eye infection from there as he was at the vet the week before for his annual check up and vaccines. They only returned one bag of food so they either threw the food out or he lost weight from his infection. I am extremely disappointed in his stay and I would not recommend taking your dog there. read more

Based on location/convenience, I took my dogs to Pupsi several times for grooming (the groomer is nice and does a good job) but avoided boarding my dogs at Pupsi because the owner gives me a very bad vibe - she is extremely arrogant and condescending. Unfortunately, I found myself in a bind recently due to my usual kennel being full on a night I had to go out of town, so I decided, against my better judgement, to board my dogs overnight at Pupsi. When I came to pick them up, they were in panic mode, trying desperately to get out the door - I felt certain something must have gone wrong as they've never acted stressed before, even when going to the vet - they're always happy to go anywhere. I asked the owner if something bad happened during their stay, she said no. The next time I brought my dogs back to Pupsi for grooming, they became extremely stressed immediately upon arriving in the parking lot and tried desperately to avoid going in the door to the lobby. I won't be going back. Other than these two episodes at Pupsi, my dogs have never behaved anything like this. Also, be forewarned that Pupsi's grooming fees seem to go up $5 per dog every 6 months or so, at least that's been my experience. read more
