As a former employee of this particular facility I highly recommend you choose a different dog camp! I honestly don't even know where to start about the MANY things that are HORRIBLE about this place. So im just going to list them: - They only clean the dogs cabins as the dogs come and go! So if you dog is there for a week, that means your dogs cabin is cleaned right before and after they get there. Any pee/ poop is cleaned with a dirty mop that has been used to clean any other cabins. They don't was the dogs beds, walls, or anything else daily. Its extremely unsanitary! - A lot of the people who work there really dont care about the dogs well being. The drag the dogs around by their collar and shove them into the play areas while they're scared. and completely uncomfortable with the situation. No one takes the time to reassure the dog that its okay to go in and no one seems to "have the time" or "patience for this" as I have heard them say to my face. - They continue to let extremely misbehaved dogs to come to camp because they are more concerned about making money then actually having a place where dogs want to come. I can't tell you how many dogs came that the staff who works in the back dreaded seeing because they started fights, aggressively humped, and bullied the other dogs. They have dogs who can only go out with certain dogs or only females or else they will 100% of the time ATTACK any other dog. -The "outside" play areas are literally a small patio size space for dogs to use the bathroom, which if it rains, it floods and the fecal matter and pee that has absorbed into the ground comes back up into that water. That is freaking disgusting!!! - The play areas are cleaned once a day, and on the weekends it usually went uncleaned because they "didn't feel like doing it". - Both the employee bathroom and dog bathing room in the back has a mold issue that not only is a health hazard to us, but to your dogs as well. - If there are too many daycare dogs during the week, they will keep the smaller BOARDING dogs out so that they can use their kennels to put the bigger daycare dogs in. Which DO NOT get cleaned in between, so whatever that dog may be caring is now, guess what, all over your dogs cabin that you paid for. So moral of my last rant is, your not getting what you pay for. There are way nicer facilities in cary and apex that you could be, correction should be, taking your dogs to. I would NEVER have taken my dog there even while I worked at the facility. read more

TL:DR Very disappointed they lied to my face about care my dog wasn't receiving. I began using Camp Bow Wow about a year ago. It was going well but it became apparent pretty early on that my dog wasn't going to the bathroom on the astroturf since she was dying whenever I got back to pick her up, even if I was early like 4 pm. I work about 5 minutes away so I asked if I could either drive back & take her out midday or if staff could walk her out to pee at lunch. They said that several dogs had the same problem and that they could definitely take her out for a quick pee break. Over time I noticed she was still acting really desparate over the top needing to use the bathroom when I got her, so I followed up a few times - asking different personnel working "Hi, Dani has a note in her file to be let out at lunch she won't go to the bathroom indoors she's too potty trained. Is she going out still? She seems to be dying when I come to pick her up." And get assurances multiple times that yes, yes, she's being walked at lunch. Yesterday I had to bring her it was unavoidable because of my schedule although I've been avoiding it for the reasons above, and I ask yet again whether she's going out. A supervisor is there for the first time and says "No, she isn't going out. A corporate policy came out six months ago that we can't walk them for liability reasons." UM. WHAT. YOU TOLD ME THERE WAS A NOTE IN HER FILE, AND THAT OTHER DOGS HAD TO BE WALKED ALSO. DID ANYONE ELSE THINK THAT THEY MAY NEED TO CONTACT ALL OF THE DOGS WHO WON'T USE THE BATHROOM ON THE ASTROTURF AND WERE SUPPOSEDLY BEING WALKED, BUT COULDN'T BE WALKED ANYMORE? No. They just wanted to keep being paid, and I guess forget about doing what's best for the dogs. It's honestly pathetic. I will be finding a new place to go as soon as possible. SO DISAPPOINTED. I understand if this policy existed, but as I kept following up I was reassured multiple times there was a note in Dani's file that she needed to go out. When this policy got instituted I can't believe they didn't inform owners like me and dogs with "notes in their files" (if those ever existed) and I'm sure I'm not the only one whose dog is too potty trained to go on astroturf. Yeah. Seriously I will be getting away from this chain ASAP. read more

My family adopted a young energetic border/golden mix, with a HIGH energy level. We didn't want to crate her everyday, so I began looking at day care for dogs. My sister recommended Camp Bow Wow, she had great service at the Durham location. I looked at CBW in Cary, and then went to Petsmart to compare to their facility. No contest, the Petsmart was not for us. We began taking our dog to CBW in Feb, she goes twice a week and absolutely loves it! She knows the routine at home, and when it's CBW day, she gets so excited! The counsellors are wonderful, she always greets them warmly. I can tell you that Neil is the new manager of the Cary facility, he came from one of the Durham locations. Apparently there were problems with the previous management, but we are glad that Neil is there, he's great. Our dog loves her day care, she has been boarded for a weekend (another coming up) and we haven't had any problems whatsoever. I also like the fact that there is a webcam so you can check in and watch your dog. read more

We have been taking our 2 large breed dogs to Camp Bow Wow Cary for over 2 years. They go at least once a week for doggy day care. Our dogs thoroughly enjoy their time at day care and get very excited the morning they realize they are going to camp. I check on the webcams frequently during the day and watch them interact with the counselors and other dogs. The counselors are even kind enough to help me get our dogs into my vehicle in the evening when I pick them up. Recently one of our dogs was included in the new monthly birthday party they have for the dogs. We even received a picture from the party of him and the other birthday dogs with their counselors. What a fun idea. Going to doggy day care makes boarding easier because they are accustomed to the counselors and the environment. I have no qualms about recommending Camp Bow Wow Cary to all my friends and associates. read more

I moved here a year ago and live in an apartment. I started taking my dog to Camp Bow Wow 2 times a week or more. My dog loves it. I take out his "camp leash" and he can't wait to get in the car. He comes home eats his dinner and goes to sleep. It is nice for him to have a place he can be a dog with the rest of the "pack" . He loves to run around and play and doesn't get much of that when he is walked on leash. He can go in bad weather and heat of summer and he can play in a safe indoor space. I took him to another place once and in an 8 hour day he was let out to play for only 1 hour - the rest of the time he was in a kennel. I am so glad I found Camp Bow Wow and I have recommended them several times. read more

My dog has been going to Camp since she was 6 months old and she is now almost 4. She goes a couple times a week for daycare and absolutely loves it! The staff are very caring and knowledgable and have always been so kind to me and my dog. She comes home very tired and happy from a day of play and sleeps the second she gets home! I love that Camp Bow Wow gives her the chance to socialize with other dogs in a safe, supervised enviornment. I've boarded her there as well, and she did well. I have and will continue to highly recommend Camp Bow Wow to my friends. I love it and so does my dog! read more

Not only do I love Camp Bow Wow, but my dog does too. He just about pulls my arm off trying to get into the building and never wants to leave. He has been attending daycare here 2 to 3 times a week since February. We have never had any problems. He has also boarded a couple of times and will be boarding next week. We know that when we drop him off he will be looked after and taken good care of. We can also watch him via the cameras they have set up through their website. Crosby always comes home tired and sleeps well that night. The workers are great. read more

My dog came back from camp bow wow acting like a antisocial pothead. I was watching the cams on the website and i saw my dog in the timber town and he was being humped and harassed by other dogs. Also the employee watching my dog was kneeing them in the face. My dog also was taken away for no reason I was very worried when I did not see my little boo boo for 3 hours while he was who no what being treated like. Our 2-yr old black lab loves going to camp! It is the perfect place for him to socialize with other dogs and expend lots & lots of energy! Since we have 3 young human children, it is often hard to give our dog enough attention and Camp Bow Wow helps fill that void. The staff there are super sweet and love our dog. We feel we are always leaving him in good hands for the day. We have also boarded our dog there while on vacation and have been very happy. read more

I LOVE CAMP BOW WOW! My dog can't wait to get there to play! He loves being there and I don't worry about him all day! The counselors are amazing! They are always professional and caring. My dog is very hyper and has had some behaviour issues and they have worked wtih me every time I love how they love my nutty pup!. They offer training classes, which have also been just wonderful! Camp Bow Wow Cary is the 2nd Camp Bow Wow location I have used and they have both been outstanding. I have tried other places in the area and no where else even compares. They have worked with me last minute, suggested options to make my boarding/day care more cost effective and have a the best staff. During her last stay, Carly had an upset stomach and loose stools due to a bone that didn't agree with her. The staff kept me informed on her condition until she was back to normal. Chloe loves going to Camp Bow Wow in Cary. She loves playing with all the dogs. Chloe gets anxious at night when she's not at her house, so the helpers there are good about putting her thunder shirt on her. We are really pleased with our experience there. read more
