My Dog Atlas has been going to Dogtopia for the last one year and he absolutely loves it. He is a high energy rescue and Dogtopia makes sure they take care of every dog's needs. They also train them on how to socialize. Atlas has been so much calmer! He even participated in their Halloween Contest and came second. The people here are lovely and they always greet you with wide smiles. Atlas and I both of love Dogtopia :D Update (10/07/2020) : I am taking down a star only because of the confusion with the daycare passes. I usually purchase a 10 day or 20-day pass here and haven't faced any troubles until recently. Each of the staff members mentions a different ' No. of days left on your pass ' to me. I don't usually post bad reviews, but I feel like I really needed to post this. If I could give this place a 0/5, I would. We had our dog, Dory, boarded at this location this weekend. She came home with what appears like bite marks on her leg and scratches on her tummy. Scratches are understandable as some dogs have sharp claws, but the rest is inexcusable. She was very skiddish when we got her home. She was very dirty AND she smelled like urine. This is neglectful treatment of my dog, of ANY dog. Never going back to this Dogtopia location. read more

I took my dog in for a trial day visit. The morning session seemed to go fine although I wasn't able to watch the cameras the whole time. The afternoon session was a disaster. My dog weighs thirteen pounds. He was repeatedly being humped/mounted by three dogs. This went on for twenty minutes as the "coach" in the room did nothing about it. My dog could very likely have been hurt. I called in and only then the coach began breaking up the humping, but it was relentless. She didn't stop the problem, just tried to break it up. The stress on my little dog must have been awful. They moved out one of the dogs eventually. I was told there is no limit on the amount of dogs allowed in the room. There are too many dogs to manage from what I saw. When I got my dog he reeked of urine and general dog odor. It was disgusting. I would never take my dog there again. I do not believe it is a safe place judging by the lack of care for his well being. I have had other dogs at daycare before and they never came out smelling like that. Please take care when considering this place. I am just now reading the reviews and I see I am not alone in my negative review. read more

I have to agree with the other low reviews of this place. Wish I had read them BEFORE deciding to try this place out for my almost 5 month old puppy. The Meet 'N Greet went fine and so I decided to sign up for 2 days/week of doggy daycare. The first day I brought her there having been freshly groomed a few days prior, but when I picked her up, she had a very strong smell of urine. The staff person didn't say anything. The smell was so bad, as well as her hind legs being absolutely filthy, that I had to bathe her that night. I utilized their email to lodge my concern about the strong urine smell, but no one replied. No one has yet replied 4 days later. (But I'm almost certain I'll see a robotic response to this post telling me how the dogs' health and safety is their number one concern and to contact them so that they can discuss this with me. Yeah, right. You should have answered my email I sent after her first day there.) Only because I had already made commitments for today, did I leave her there again. But I mentioned to the very nice girl at the front desk that I was concerned about the urine smell and wasn't sure how that may have happened. She told me they have been having a problem with the floors that they're trying to work out and in the meantime, they could make sure they give my puppy "a rinse" before I pick her up. Having no alternative, I left her there today for the time I was at my appointments and when I came to pick her up, I told them I wanted to cancel until they had fixed the problem with the urine-smelling floors. I was told I would still be charged for the next two weeks. It's in the contract they make you sign. I said nothing because it's not the girl's fault they have this policy but I sure was going to make others aware that they should not bring their dogs here unless they are comfortable with them coming home smelling like urine each time. The fact that they are aware of this urine smell issue BUT DON"T TELL YOU before you sign up, should be grounds for honoring a more immediate cancellation. Well, I hope the extra $132 they'll get from me is worth the bad publicity. Now that I've read reviews from 2022 that also mentioned the dog urine smell, as well as other reviews about how their dogs were injured or got sick from being here, I know that this is an on-going situation they have no intention of rectifying. They set up an appointment for me all looked wonderful. Then I receive the hey we are understaffed due to Covid the day of the appointment. Not a call not any concern that my dogs would have nowhere to go. They are there for a paycheck like most of us go to work for, but to me I like animals more than people but they have zero refused for our 4 legged best friends. Looks like my $1000 trip isn't going to happen because the animals are more important to me then reservations or plane tickets. I'm so upset but hey at least my vacation will be on the couch, dog park and basically cheaper since I'm not paying $500 to get my little buddies a room for a week. $1000 out the window. But $500 not spent ‍ Why not try and help why not try and come up with another solution. There view is just deal with it yourself. At first, I had a good experience here. My previous review on Google was 5 stars. My dog seemed to love it, most of the staff was nice, etc.. As time went on, I noticed things here and there that should've been red flags but I (regrettably) ignored them. Notably, I regularly saw the staff appear to be extremely inattentive on the cameras (seems like the rooms have a TV that's more interesting than the dogs?) and I saw my dog handled more aggressively than necessary (yanked/thrown by the collar in order to correct behavior). I dropped off my dog early morning on 11/5. Around 11am they called to say his eyes were red, he was acting like they bothered him, and he threw up. He was placed in isolation because they suspected it was kennel cough. Unfortunately I hadn't checked the cameras that day so I don't know what was going on prior to this. When I picked him up his eyes were blood-red and he barely tolerated being touched/held. We went straight to the emergency vet and they found he had popped blood vessels in both eyes, indicating some trauma to the face, and some blood work readings in his liver that could indicate trauma there as well. I understand anything can happen at a dog daycare, especially with a dog as small as mine (~10lb, 4.5 months). I also know my dog gets very excited around other dogs/people and plays hard, and his behavior may need to be corrected from time to time. However, I'm extremely curious to know what happened that caused blood vessels popped in BOTH eyes and potential liver damage -- was he just playing too rough? Did he run into a wall? Was a staff member unnecessarily rough with him, as I've seen on the cameras in the past? If my dog was being watched, how come no one knew about this trauma, and instead they just assumed kennel cough and put him in isolation? I emailed Dogtopia to ask for the video footage from that morning and followed up again 4 days ago, and have received no response, 10 days since the original email. I can see they've opened it 4 times. Maybe they don't have the footage? If not, why not just tell me that, instead of opening my email multiple times and never replying? I'm beginning to think my dog was not cared for properly (just not watched, or a staff member being overly-aggressive) and that the video footage makes that clear, so I'll never see it. Maybe I'm wrong, and the video footage would clear things up... I wish I could find out. read more

The dogs didn't smell as clean as I would have liked. They also were too scared to trim their nails. They didn't want to muzzle them to flip them. And they definitely needed them cut. I can't believe it's been four whole years since my last review for this wonderful place! And my now 6-year old shih poo is still enjoying his Dogtopia days. The same loving care that hands-on owners Tammy and Janet have always given is still going strong. Whether it's for a half day, full day, night, weekend or multiple days,the care our Chewie Monkey gets is second to none. It's like having a kid in kindergarten. Complete with birthday parties. Yes, he not only came home with this pic, but with a Gourmutt's special treat and a stuffed shark. But besides the fun times, what Dogtopia is really about for us is peace of mind. Knowing that we don't have to worry for a second about how our baby is being taken care of. And it's always cool to be able to see for ourselves with their webcams. I also love that they are very community-minded, doing and participating in various fundraisers. Reading over some previous reviews, I see that a couple folks were upset that their pets were turned down, and as upsetting as I know that can be for them, I have to say that it is reassuring to me that they take the extra care to safeguard our "children". They have to! All animals (including my own fella) are given an assessment before they are brought into a room with others. For me, that's one more way we are given peace of mind here. read more

We were excited to find a kennel that was highly recommended on Nextdoor. One of the selling points for Dogtopia was being able to see our dog on the in-house web cameras. During that first visit to do a "meet and greet", the staff checked our dog's behavior. Once she "passed", we were allowed to schedule a date for boarding. However, there was a moderately strong smell of urine throughout the lobby. We were not allowed to see the kennels or the play areas. Those things should have been red flags, but when we asked about the smell, the staff said it was from their "cleaner" chemicals. Scheduling the appointment for a future boarding was easy. Later, the appointment did not show up on the Dogtopia app. So, we called about 2 weeks before the appointment to confirm things. We were told that "yes", we were on the books, but that we had to get a "flu" vaccination for our dog. I don't have a problem with the vaccination. But, we asked how we would have known about this new requirement if we'd not called? Did it mean that we would have shown up on the way out of town and been told that our non-refundable plans would be cancelled because no one had told us about this new vaccination requirement? There was no answer. The promised web cameras weren't very helpful. Some of them were never on (at least during the multiple times I tried to use them over the weekend). There was no sound available. Finally, we've kenneled dogs over the years. We expect there to be some "kennel smell" after boarding. The smell after boarding at Dogtopia for a long weekend was worse. Our dog reeked of urine and some nearly indescribable stench. It has taken multiple baths to manage it. Overall, we can't really recommend this place. The desk staff members were nice. However, the operation felt like an expensive corporate warehouse at which cleanliness and caring are not at the top of the list of concern. read more

I wish I read some of these reviews prior to bringing my dog here. In the beginning it was a great experience. Except for this one lady during pick up she wasn't the friendliest person. I would even try to have friendly conversation...nothing. In my opinion she is someone who should not be in the service industry. Anyway, recently my dog was attacked by a pitbull/boxer at the facility. My issue is Dogtopia tells me it wasn't my dog's fault, but the owner has yet to reach out to me to apologize for what their dog did or take any kind of responsibility. I gave permission to the staff to give out my contact information and almost two weeks later....NOTHING!!! That tells you what kind of owner they are, not responsible. They shouldn't even have a dog. My other issue is Dogtopia needs to come up with better policies. If Dogtopia is stating they are not responsible for dog attacks then the owners should at least be allowed to have contact information to handle the situation themselves. The not so friendly lady behind the counter wouldn't even tell me the kind of breed that attacked my dog. Didn't want to answer any of my questions, said all of this was above her pay grade. I felt like she was hiding something. My vet had to call and demand getting that information and the dogs shot information. If my dog attacked another dog, I would definitely want to know who the owner was in order for me to apologize and take care of any vet bill. Basically be responsible and accountable. I was informed that the dog is no longer allowed there and my dog is able to return. How can I trust that, when I was never even able to see a video or even see what the dog looked like, nothing. They could very well allow that dog to come back and I would never know. It's amazing how some people and some companies are all about animals rights but when a dog gets attacked everyone is so quick to say, "well there is nothing we can do about your dog getting attacked." Or "It can happen to any dog, oh well." Better policies and procedures need to be in place to protect all dogs and help owners when situations like this happens. In my opinion ask for a list of dogs that they allow there, if the dog is statistically listed as an aggressive dog, ie pitbull. Don't leave your dog at Dogtopia. If some apartment complexes don't allow them maybe Dogtopia should adapt that policy as well. read more

This review would have been 5 stars until the recent change of ownership. We were there from the beginning when original franchisees Janet and Tami opened this location in 2008 (a picture of Lanai, our female, used to be on their webpage!), but will not be going back. Employee turnover has accelerated, and (probably related) on our last visit, Lanai was injured by another dog for the first time in our 10 years there, and although they promptly informed us, basically, the management's attitude was "sh#t happens" Not to mention, it is a struggle the last few times to avoid being overcharged-- the focus appears to have shifted from good customer service to maximizing revenue. For example, when our dogs spent 5 days there, the former good staff would suggest a 10-day pass. Now, the attitude seems to be " you snooze, you lose" Heartbreaking to see a fantastic, locally-owned, women-owned business go in the crapper, but it has happened at Dogtopia. read more

I boarded two of my dogs here recently and my dog came back with a chipped tooth and a chunk of her snout hair missing and all cut up. The design of having the dogs in wire crates in the playroom is absolutely dangerous. It creates crate aggression and heavy anxiety. Putting a dog in a crate where they are able to be approached by other dogs causes them to paw and nose at the crate door trying to get out creating the exact issues I'm now dealing with. Now I have to take my dog in for an emergency dental due to the negligence of this establishment. Wire crates are very dangerous especially in this kind of setup. Seriously think about changing your wire crate in the playroom method. *update* Rosie was supposed to be put into a crate that she couldn't get hurt in but when talking to the facility they said someone must have put her into one of the regular crates and that's how she got hurt. So basically admitted their fault. Now waiting for agreement from them to cover the dental bill to have the tooth repaired as she will be going to a dentist to have the tooth repaired. read more

Dogtopia If I could leave 0 stars I would, hell if I could leave negative stars I would. To be honest I don't know where to begin. My boyfriend has been coming here for a few years. I've never actually gone with him to get our dog but today I decided to because I've never been inside. Walking in I immediately was consumed with stench of urine so strong it smelled of ammonia. I work in the medical field and I did beside nursing for YEARS- anytime you have that chemical smell with urine you immediately know it's neglect, hands down, period. I start looking around to see if there was an older spot of urine that was missed but there was not. The carpet in front was old, there was a caution sign for a wet floor even though the floor was in-fact not cleaned nor wet, nor was it raining so I guess that just means watch out for feces on the floor?? You're not allowed to see into the play areas or rooms, there are no windows either which was an immediate red flag to me. And then comes the price. For 6 days we were charged almost 500$. A significant price jump from the last time he was boarded. My boyfriend asks when they upped their pricing and she insisted it's been a full year since it's been that way. She in-fact was lying being we boarded him in early September and another time in the summer and we even said that to her and she double downed, said "no, it's been that way for a year". Being we have boarded twice after March of last year and still have the receipts we just were like okay give us our dog. I was reading past reviews I saw someone mention the jump in price from September as well so I knew so she lied, wether she was instructed to lie or unintentionally lied I don't know. They also used to have their prices printed and laid out on the counter tops which they have removed from sight. Nothing on the walls, doors or anything so you're not even being shown what you're being charged. We asked for a break down of the new pricing and it was 38$ a day and 30$ for overnights giving a total of 68$ a day and then asked why at the time of booking being they can see when our last stay was that they didn't let us know they had changed their prices. The woman at the desk just kept saying it's been a year, she had no other answer for us and seemed to be futzing around on the computer to avoid anymore questions. Again we have the credit card receipts so I knew this was untrue, and I checked reviews on google yelp etc from other customers who are claiming they were charged way differently as well in the recent months. No notification, no courteously mention, no pricing listed on a site, walls, door, etc. This place needs to get their act together. I also will be reporting this business here in Raleigh for what I first hand witnessed myself of that pungent toxic waste smell. It's inhabitable as a human being I was struggling from the smell and again I did bedside nursing for years so I have a pretty high tolerance to awful smells and this heinous, suffocating stench was a MAJOR red flag and the town will be notified after I post this. Our dog will NEVER EVER be boarded here again and anyone else that does should be ashamed if they continue to board after reading this or smelling that smell. For the price jump alone I was like this is not okay but the smell??!!? Those unsanitary conditions? It's inhabitable! Dogtopia of Raleigh is wildly expensive for the boarding conditions. Rover alone is almost half of the price and they come to your home or your pup will go to them, and they actually care!! Find a place that cares and CLEANS!! No wonder these dogs are getting sick smh and need to have all of these vaccines, this place needs to be shut down yesterday! I never write reviews, evidenced by my pretty bare profile, but after seeing the negative reviews here I felt I should share my great experience with Dogtopia. I have had the complete opposite experience of the one-star reviews on here. We've been bringing our dog to Dogtopia since she was a few months old and have always had great experiences. Our dog absolutely LOVES going to Dogtopia. She's always treated well. She gets so excited when we get in the car in the morning because she knows she's going to daycare. It's great to be able to check the cameras all day and watch her running around and playing. On the rare occasion that I see any potential issue developing on the cameras (like a dog being a bit rough), it's dealt with quickly. Our dog does come back with a smell sometimes, but that's to be expected considering she spends all day playing with other dogs. Any time she's gotten *really* dirty (she has a knack for finding muddy puddles), they've offered us a complimentary bath and arranged for it to happen right before we pick her up. All in all, we absolutely love Dogtopia and would (and actually have) recommended it to anyone. read more

I would not recommend this business for dog care or boarding. Our dogs were "accepted" and we have taken them from time to time for day care and our dogs did sustain a couple of minor injuries which should have been a red flag for us. Additionally, I've questioned the tight quarters and number of dogs that they have in one room which seems overly crowded and I have noticed a few times that our two 1 year old puppies were not overly excited when they got there unlike our usual dog board/day care places. I have also picked up on the tone of the staff which is not very customer friendly (in comparison to others) and more of a tone of lecture than accommodating. Today was the last day for us to bring our dogs to this business. When I picked them up, I saw a video of one of my dogs on a leash as they walked him around a small room where many other dogs were wrestling around the room and it is very crowded. It's very chaotic and at one point as my dog is on a leash another dog lunges at my dog then more dogs crowd in on him as the walker just stands there with him on the leash and our dog is getting more agitated because he's begin crowded in on, this is very poor dog handling. Instead of removing a dog in these types of situations and letting them calm down they just stand there and let the situation escalate with dogs not on leashes (it was like a feeding frenzy) . Our dogs are very sweet and our other places have loved to have them attend, where they are happy and loved on. They are also great around other dogs at dog parks and we've never had any issues except at Dogtopia. The staff obviously needs better training on how to handle dogs as well as socializing dogs. I would also recommend limiting the number of dogs in a confined space. From reading other reviews it seems this is not an isolated problem and there have been other issues. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE EVER. Rude, clueless employees, overpriced by a mile, and the entire place smells like dog urine. Dogs are returned reeking of the urine odor, dogs spend no time outdoors, and they are kept in cages most of the day when you pay for daycare so your dog doesn't spend all day in a cage at home. Management does not address owner/customer concerns and hides behind lies they cannot back up even though they have cameras (which only work a small fraction of the time). You're better off leaving your dog alone at home than bringing them here- they'll take better care of themselves there. And have more fun. read more

Came to the office today with my dogs in tow and was refused at the door. Apparently you're supposed to drop them off the night before but I was never told this. Dogtopia of Raleigh is a great dog daycare and boarding facility! I worked there for a few years and genuinely loved going to work every day. All of the employees really care about the dogs as if they are their own. I brought my own pups, and even with a few behavioral concerns I trusted everyone there to manage my dogs in the playroom and keep them safe and happy. The team works very hard to accommodate as many clients as they can without making it an unsafe environment, and will do their best to help all dogs who go there to develop positive group and individual behaviors and give them lots of love. I've been bringing my dog to stay at Dogtopia for 5 years. I have been a dedicated client, up until now. As said by someone else, the vesting of dogs as a punishment has to stop. There was an altercation between a crated dog and mine, and through a confusing explanation of events, my dog ended up seriously wounded and I'm currently sitting in an ER vet clinic. Dogtopia has to redo their guidelines for this, as I'm sure it's due to too many dogs in each room. The barking energy amps them all up. The only reason I'm leaving a 1 star review is because they are taking ownership of the issue and paying for the vet bill and any blood damage in my car, along with not charging me for her not even 12 hour stay. read more

Do not bring your dog here unless they are extremely confident, can handle a lot of rough housing, and they get along with all dogs, even poorly behaved ones. The problem with this place is that they only have 3 dog rooms for small, medium, and big dogs. Age, temperaments, and abilities aren't taken into account. Rough, nippy puppies of all breeds are put in the same room as frail senior toy dogs. On the cameras, I constantly saw a little tri colored rat terrier getting punished for barking at puppies when they jumped on him. All he wanted to do was sleep and be left alone and he was thrown in an uncomfortable cage for trying to defend himself, he spent most all his time in the cage. I hope he's okay, I think about him. I stopped going after my friend's very shy, sweet dog was badly attacked. She was "red collared" for getting nervous with introductions, meaning they kept her in the crate most of the time anyways. But the other dogs got too rough and scary with her one day and the staff wasn't protecting her. It's just sad how they reward poorly behaved dogs and punish the scared ones and throw them all in a small space and expect there to be no problems. It's like a full dog park with only one human trying to regulate all of them, very dangerous. Although my dog didn't have altercations, I no longer wanted to support a business that clearly didn't take the best care with all dogs. If there were more rooms and more trainers, this might be a better business. But unless you're willing to take a gamble on your dog's well being, doing leave them at this place. read more

This place has been a blessing for our pup. While our English Bulldog is still a baby, his personality can make him quite the egomaniac (that and we spoil him... Yes we're aware of it). The staff at Dogtopia is patient with our pup, and makes sure he's placed with similar dogs based on interest and energy level. When we leave him overnight, we are able to bring his bed and any non squeaky chew toys, as well as his own food which makes me incredibly comfortable leaving him knowing he is surrounded by familiar things and a loving staff. Finally, one time when we were out of the country, our pup got sick. Dogtopia kept us informed via email, as to how he was doing, and offered multiple services to make sure he was comfortable and cared for until we got home. Put all that together with a 12 hour play day, and that makes this mom one happy camper. read more

I have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Charlie and Belle, who have been coming to Dogtopia since we moved to Raleigh in 2012. When we were looking for doggy daycare/boarding facilities after we moved here from Chicago, Dogtopia was heads and tails (pun entirely intended) above everyone else. My husband and I both scoured the entire "triangle" and there was not another doggy daycare or boarding faciliity that came even close to Dogtopia. Our dogs are always thrilled the second we get them in the car because they know, odds are, they're on their way to Dogtopia! The second we park, both pups, our dog Charlie in particular, can't get in the front door fast enough! My dogs are there a few times a month for doggy daycare and boarding, with my husband's work schedule and mine sometimes it is better for the dogs if they spend a night there than at home if we wouldn't have the time to give them the exercise and attention they deserve. For example, yesterday they went to doggy daycare because I had a really big to-do list, and we ended up having them stay overnight because my husband was working very late and I wasn't feeling very well and knew they'd have a more fun night and my day today would be easier if we let them have a sleepover. The staff is very accommodating and flexible and is very understanding if plans change and you need to extend their stay. On holidays they do book up fairly well in advance, so I would recommend making those reservations well in advance, they are in high demand for a reason! They also offer grooming services-which we use-and the groomer does a great job. Our pets are family to us, and the people at Dogtopia understand this and take the time to really get to know each doggy that is under their care. Heaven forbid, were anything to happen that the pups would need medical attention, I fully trust the staff to treat that with the same urgency we would. The people who work at Dogtopia love what they do, and it really shows. Every staff member I have met has been extremely friendly and courteous and helpful. They go out of their way to show their customers they are appreciated and to plan fun things for the dogs to do- like the monthly "birthday parties" they throw for the dogs. If your dog is there that day, and it's their birthday month, they get a little birthday treat and take an adorable picture of them in a party hat- the bday pic of our Charlie is attached to this review. They also have a webcam if you want to check up on your pup if you're on vacation-though I rarely use it because it just makes me miss them too much-but I'm kind of a crazy person when it comes to that. If I were to nitpick, I mean REALLY nitpick, the only 2 things I would change would be if they could extend their pickup time for daycare to 8 or 9 PM- currently you need to pick your pup up at 7 PM which can be tricky for those of us not on a 9 to 5 schedule. I would also love if they could have another groomer on staff, currently their groomer is in such high demand that you have to book way, way ahead of time- a month or more-and sometimes it would be nice to be able to get in a bit quicker. If you ever have any dog daycare or boarding needs, Dogtopia is the only facility in the area I would recommend and I am certain you will be thrilled with them. read more

They may have the best groomer in the area (opinion after serving my dogs over 12 years) but their office staff do not know how to return calls, make new appointments when the change is THEIR fault. OK I had to (like all of us) wait through COVID, but when they say they would call when reopen. They did not, Then I had to wait 2 weeks & a personal issue at their end cancelled. Left a voicemail to call me to reschedule, they did not call. When I called in I was told I had to wait another month! Definitely they are not customer centric. They lost my business as frustrating as that is for me. read more

I traveled to the area from the South Dakota with my three month old sheltie puppy. The staff loved my dog which delighted me. because I knew they were being good to him. We have been taking our Husky Walter here for two weeks now. I LOVE that you can watch the cameras regularly to check in on how your pup is doing. Walter is a very high energy dog, and the staff are completely wonderful. They are so patient even when there are a bunch of dogs in the room! When Walter gets too rowdy he is put in a crate for a few minutes to cool down, and then is let back out. I really like the cycle and amount of freedom he is given to play. I was nervous he would get too "zoomy" and have to spend a lot of time in the crate but so far he seems to be adjusting really well. When you have to work all day all week it can be difficult to give these kinds of high energy dogs the attention they need. Dogtopia has been a wonderful option for our family. He comes home exhausted and happy, which makes it all worth it. Thank you to the staff who love on our pup every day!!! read more

I took my dog once and noticed once we got home that she was limping terribly. I couldn't tell what was wrong with her and when I called Dogtopia the next morning once they were open, they said to check her pads, as their synthetic floor can make some dog's pads peel. Sure enough, she had pieces of her pad missing on the leg she was favoring...and over the next few days, some more began to peel off on another 2 feet. It took her about 2 weeks to heal. Since I wasn't planning on taking her more than once it week, I don't think she'd ever "get used to" the flooring, so I won't ever take her back. Also, the dog:people ratio seems a little high to me. I'm not sure why you would invest in flooring that isn't dog-friendly...her new daycare has painted concrete and she's done fine. read more

I am FUMING over my short lived experience at this facility. My dog was rejected for boarding because his alpha personality is too strong... what? If that was something that is an issue you should have told me on the phone when I called before I drove 40 MINUTES to your facility. And now, guess what? I have to leave to go out of town in an hour and no where to board my dog. I called this morning asking what I need to do to board him for the night. They said they'd call our vet for my dog's records and when we arrive he has to do a temperament test. Ok, I thought, that's fine. My dog has never had any negative interactions with other dogs. I bring him to the local dog park a few times a week and have never had ANY ISSUES. I figured temperament tests are just done to weed out any aggressive dogs, which my dog is not. So they bring my dog into a room and come back out a few minutes later claiming that he is not suitable for boarding there because he was too excitable & dominant when greeting other dogs. Are you kidding me? Of course he's excitable, he's in a new environment around a bunch of new people and dogs and he has an alpha personality, as many dogs do. They denied that he was aggressive yet stated that he might piss certain dogs off if they are greeted as enthusiastically as my dog does. Um, how did THOSE dogs make it through your temperament test, then?? If my dog having a dominant personality is something that makes him ineligible for boarding, then THAT IS SOMETHING YOU NEED TO TELL PEOPLE before they drive 40 minutes and are put in a bad situation. If your dog has even a somewhat strong personality, I would clarify with them that their facility is "suitable" for your sweet pet. Hmph. read more

After going in to talk to them and explaining that our dog fears other dogs. They told us to bring her in and they would introduce her to other dogs little by little. We took her there for a few hours to see how it would go. they put her in with all the dogs straightaway, and she pooped herself scared to death! (Staying at the entryway- while all ran in.) Made her even worse fearing other dogs. We were very disappointed that they did not do what they said they would do. If your dog is friendly and very social. This may be the place. Otherwise, I would definitely not recommend this place. Huge Disappointment! read more

Whenever we head out of town we take our doodle Cooper to Dogtopia. It's hard leaving our boy behind, but I know he is in good care. I love that they have cameras so you can check in for peace of mind. The most comforting part is that I know they will call me if anything comes up. When Cooper wouldn't eat, they called for permission to feed him boiled chicken. They also closely monitor their potty habits and will call you for anything outside of the norm. read more

First time taking my dog to boarding EVER... he's 10 1/2 and fortunately it was a great experience. We had received a referral from a co-worker and I couldn't have been happier with the service. LOVE the doggie cam app that I was able to download to my phone and check in on him during the day. It's more expensive than other places, but not by much - maybe $5 more per day. At that point anyways, what's another $5 for good care?! read more

After 2+ years of boarding my dog and leaving him for daycare, it has been brought to my attention that my dog is too "anxious" and has created a negative environment at Dogtopia. Though there has not been any changes in my dog's behavior at all, there have been changes in the way Dogtopia has grown. They are now the Wal-mart of doggy daycare and do not have the capacity for dogs with too much energy. My wife and I were pretty crushed to find out that our dog has been singled out for being too "anxious" and "stimulated". I'm not sure what a place like this offers if they are not inviting of dogs with a lot of energy to burn. If your dog is of the sedentary ilk, by all means this might be a great fit for you. Otherwise, i feel like they have grown in size and can no longer accommodate different dog personalities. Certainly not dogs with high energy to burn. Labrador owners beware! read more

We used Dogtopia for grooming since Spike's boarding worked out so well. Brenda was willing to listen to our needs and add her input. We are very pleased with his grooming. He isn't cut like a typical Bichon, but we've been down that road and a dog named "Spike" is not suited to a typical Bichon cut. Brenda's cut will look better in all that he gets into and be much easier for us to maintain. read more

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG HERE ESP IF ITS A BULLY BREED. We left our bully breed here while we were in Texas and I must of looked at the cameras every 1-2 hours throughout the week because I was so upset with how our dog was treated, I actually even cried a lot of times on our trip. It really isn't fair hot pittbulls in general are treated and this place made me PISSED!!!!! Our pitbull Hoagie is a very sweet boy but he needs work on his skills (he lacks social grace) so playing with other dogs. He can play a bit ruff .. but this place doesn't know how to take care of the situation. They had him in the crate majority of the week we were gone. I called them and told them I was dissatisfied along with my fiancé calling multiple times . They assured us he was getting 15 min play breaks and they were switching the "ruff""dogs out. So I timed when my dog was out and it was def not 15 min increments .. some times it was 5 mins and he was put back in the crate. VERY FEW times it was 15 mins and then he would put back in the crate and it would be for hours at a time ..Meanwhile they had other playrooms wide open where we could see on camera that they could of stuck him in even if alone, at least he had free space and wasn't stuck in a crate the whole time.He was put in one of their harnesses and when we picked him up he had marks and rashes everywhere the harness was.They also never called us to let us know our dogs a handful or that they wanted to put the harness on him, basically no calls at all, unless we called. ALSO, I watched in the camera other dogs starting with hoagie while he was fine trying to walk it off and they put Hoagie in the crate and not the other dogs pecking and starting with him. I do believe the staff tried and just were not equipped or trained to handle him properly. I actually have worked at places up north where they use spray bottle methods and that has worked best with not only majority of the dogs but also bully breeds. We were more mad at the fact that we put our dog here because we wanted him more socialized and they just kept locking him up in crate .. I wouldn't have spent a ton of $$$ money to board my dogs with y'all I would of just had a family member or friend come to let our dogs out and feed them.. at least then he would of been able to be in comfort or lay around on the couch he doesn't make accidents in our home he could of had free range of our house. Also, my dogs confidence is shot, I actually feel bad he looks and is acting so broken after leaving him with y'all. When my fiancé picked the dogs up they ran to the door hahahha I don't blame them. Anyways, will never come back here and will continue to tell everyone about our horrible experience. read more
