Love this dog shop. The employees are incredibly friendly and attentive. Each visit I'm greeted and helped by multiple employees. My dogs love visiting to pick out new toys and treats. They don't love bath time at the self-serve dog wash stations, but don't seem to mind the nail clippings. I, on the other hand, appreciate the convenience of the elevated dog wash stations with the portable dryer. If preferred there is also a separate room available to dry your dog. With multiple stations and employees, we have always been able to walk in for a dog wash and nail trim. On busier days we have been added to a waitlist. The list moved quickly so it really only took and extra 5-10 min. We used that time to peruse the shelves, which we wanted to do anyway. Most of the items and services are reasonably priced for a specialty dog shop. Only thing I don't like is price difference between the nail trim and grinds. They seem to take roughly equal effort and time and other places charge the same price for either service. The website needs updating since I believe nail trims cost $15 and the nail grind is $25. The website lists $10. If I'm remembering correctly. The employees are all enthusiastic and helpful. They go out of their way to ensure you are assisted and offer to recommend products as needed to match your dog's preference. They will even assist with fitting your dog with a harness. We have visited numerous times for toys, treats, supplies, baths, and nail care. I appreciate their rewards program that offers complimentary treats and services. I like to store, the staff and the owners. Always friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I will never use the again to groom my Yorkie. The cut wasn't great but I only wanted a trim. My poor baby came home with his eye totally red like it was nipped with something, which took a very long time to heal. He also came home lethargic, uninterested in any thing, which lasted almost three days. He was not himself and he has never before or after that been lethargic, etc. so I completely believe he was given something to either calm him or make him sleep until it was time to pick him up, regardless of the fact they after not suppose to. He is a friendly, playful, happy dog and when he was returned with such a different disposition I was beside myself. Never again for grooming. There are better places for grooming. read more

Extremely disgusted and honestly... horrified after my last visit here with our puppy. She came home with a hemorrhage in her eye, (pictured) and the next morning, had the same hemorrhaging in her other eye. This also happened to occur the day before her first birthday which sucked even more. When I called to discuss the matter with the owner, he rudely interrogated me, (as if I had somehow done this to my own puppy), and refused to acknowledge even the remotest possibility that they were somehow at fault until finally he made up some bogus claim that my pup probably did it to herself while she was in some kind-of holding kennel for 20 minutes barking at another dog who was in a separate kennel barking at her. Honestly, the only way this could've happened was if they mishandled her or had her improperly restrained in a kennel. AND FOR 20 MINUTES?!?!? Why would they keep a puppy in a kennel that long when an appointment was made? (The owner couldn't provide a reasonable answer for this either). They were incredibly rude, dismissive, and accused me of accusing them of animal abuse. Doesn't this sound questionable? Meantime, my pup spent the morning of her first birthday at the vet and we spent $160 having her thoroughly examined to ensure that nothing was seriously wrong. The vet said that it was bruising that would take 1 - 2 weeks to heal. Also - I did have an attorney call them because I was so disgusted and they refused to speak with me in a professional, polite and appropriate manner - and was as a result, infuriated. All messages left by my attorney went unreturned. I am not a litigious person, (I've never threatened legal action once in my entire life), but I honestly was sick-to-my stomach trying to speak with the owner of this place - and while I knew there would be no recourse for me from a legal standpoint, I was hoping the owner would at least communicate with him because I had hit my breaking point and was still too busy worrying about my puppy's well-being. No such luck. He consistently dodged my attorney's calls, which is why I am here to warn everyone against going to this place. I was in tears for two days because I was so worried. I will NEVER return and I hope people pay attention to this. Our pup will be going to the groomer at our vet - Carolina Ranch Animal Hospital and Resort, where they... a) adore their clients and their customers and are beyond professional and b) know how to dremel a dog's claws without severely bruising their eyes resulting in a trip to the vet the following day. Also, the vet called to check on ME because she knew how upset I was. She did explain that it looked worse than it was and was probably more traumatic for me... but then WHY ON EARTH couldn't the owner just have apologized instead of initially trying to blame me, then coming up with inexcusable excuses like kenneling a clearly upset and improperly restrained dog for 20 minutes and then ignoring all attempts at communication thereafter? UNREAL and UNACCEPTABLE. AVOID. read more

We had our dog groomed there yesterday. They normally do a great job. Yesterday they severely cut my dog while trimming/grinding her nails. She can't put any weight on her back paw at all. They took zero responsibility for the issue and even tried to convince my husband she came in that way. Why would anyone try to groom a dog with an open wound? This is now my favorite pet store! When I moved from Colorado Springs I was unsure were I would purchase my dog food. I was looking for a store similar to Wag N' Wash. I stumbled across this place. This store has quality dog food and treats. The staff is super friendly. Okay, I kept going back and now I love this place! The 2 times I've been there since writing my original review always started out with letting my pup out in their little Dog Park, which is an awesome thing to have in that area since my lil' buddy and I are in the area a lot. Then both times I decided to go in for something. The first time we got an awesome dog bed (which was for Muscles but Cali the Cat has taken over it!) and a nice Tweed Jacket for Muscles. I asked for a treat sample and I got one! The staff was nice. Then today we decided to go in again and I bought ANOTHER dog bed (this one Muscles is claiming!) and some interesting dog foods. The folks in there were so nice and this time we got lots of treats! We're fans now, and we will definitely keep going back! read more

Fantastic, amazing customer service! I can't even begin to describe how fantastic the customer service is here. They take their time with you, they won't rush or try to get away from you, they will make sure you are more than satisfied before checking you out. I went it because my mom told me you give them a try. I was looking for a new dog food for my puppy (currently 12 weeks old) because hers was giving her horrendous gas. So I go, I'm immediately greeted at the door and explain to them what I need. I was taken to the food, she explained the different brands, the benefits, so on, then suggested a brand to me. I ended up with brand she suggested, along with a new harness, a pig ear, and a few other treats. When rung up, it was no where close to what I thought I'd be spending. I spent a little over 60. If I had gotten the same things from Petsmart, I would have spent well over 100. Their store is full of treats and cookies for your 4 legged friends. Pig Ears, Beef Pizzles, Horns, Hooves, Baked Treats, just to name a few. I've bought quite a fee Pig Ears because my puppy loves them and they keep her distracted for a little while. Also, bring your four legged little friend by the store to say hello! The owners love meeting your furry critters. The owners usually have atleast one of their fuzzy pups wandering the shop with them. No worries, they are extremely.well behaved and wouldn't mind if you give them a little loving. They also have a rewards program! You can earn coupons you can use on anything in the store. Not to mention, they also have a program with the dog food. With CERTAIN BRANDS, if you buy 10 bags, you get one free. Or it's buy 11 get one free, can't quite remember which it is. You don't have to buy it all at once, they keep track of what you buy. It's fantastic! They also groom your puppy for you. They will trim your pup up and trim their claws as well. Not only that, but they have a self service dog wash. Just bring your dog in, pay a small fee, and wash your little fuzzy friend. I just love this store. This is where I'll be getting all my stuff for my puppy from now on. The staff are amazing, owners are fantastic people, prices are reasonable, and I just love the look of this store. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I definitely would! read more

I am soooo jealous of Garner NC for having a "Just Dog People" :-) We were fortunate to find it right off I-40 while heading back to Topsail after the hurricane. My grandson and our family have a brand new Cocker Spaniel and were rushing home to see him and his sitter. We were blown away by the customer service, the knowledge, and the selection offered by "Just Dog People". Everyone was so nice, even the customers! We purchased great treats and a few other items, we'll be calling or driving up to visit again. They also have a wonderful DIY shampoo supplies/grooming room that I would love to have close by in Wilmington/Jacksonville.. This is just an A-1 dog lover's paradise/store!!! I drove from Apex today to take my senior corgi who has a degenerative nerve disease causing him to need a set of wheels for mobility here so he could get a good bath. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was blown away. From the moment I walked through the door, everyone was so kind and helpful. The staff went out of their way to make me and my pup comfortable and to accommodate his special needs. I was able to take my time to give him a much needed bath and get the staff to do a nail trim. As a special treat, one of the employees brought my pup a complimentary blueberry facial! I mean...wow! The entire experience was wonderful. It was worth every dime spent, every mile I drove, and every minute it took. I loved this place until recently. I walked in today and there were three girls behind the counter and not one was wearing a mask. I was with my 85 year old mother who was wearing a mask. When we asked why they weren't wearing a mask now that it is law, one girl said that she had a condition and she didn't have to tell us what it was. We looked at all three girls and asked, you ALL have a condition? They just laughed at us. We took our dogs elsewhere to have their nails clipped.
