At $35 tops a day for boarding, I feel like it's a pretty good deal. They utterly fail at communication though. When setting up boarding, I followed online steps to generate an estimate only to be told by automation that they didn't give estimates. Prepare for things like that to just happen. Good luck getting them to answer the phone. I tried putting my dog in daycare for a couple days so she could feel the place out before her stay and I kept getting brick-walled. They never, within 45 days, had an opening. I was told they were getting such a demand that they have to turn away regulars. When you set up a profile, you fill in important info about this and that. It's mostly easy. I did so, preparing for a getaway about a month and a half later. My puppy Angel wasn't spayed at the time. By the check-in date, she was spayed. I took her to the facility, signed her up, provided a bag of food I bought, and went on my trip. The website says they'll send you pics of your dog in activity. Two days into my vacation, no pics. I called, no answer, so I left a message. I was eventually texted back with them saying I hadn't signed up for it. Okay, my fault. Keep in mind, you have to sign up for this. Then I found out she wasn't playing with the other dogs because they had assumed she wasn't spayed. Again, I had no idea about this, but you have to take it upon yourself to update ALL information in the profile, as the staff operate off that. So...after finally getting someone on the phone, I had the profile updated and Angel was clear to play with other dogs. The pics they sent me were 4 blurry, hastily taken photos of Angel and another dog in the lobby. Nothing of her taking action in the play area or anything. And no photos of her playing the next day. While the woman who contacted me was great and literally went above and beyond in trying to please, the results weren't satisfactory. It's a good place - don't get me wrong. There are a few words you can't say around my dog: peanut butter gumball, breakfast, car ride & CAMP! Because he can't give us his honest opinion on Bone Voyage, we will have to go off of his behavior! My 100 pound beast goes to "camp" once a week. He'll watch me carefully in the morning, waiting for me to grab his harness. The second that harness is in my hand, it's go time! He sprints to the door, races back across the kitchen and launches himself over the couch displaying his magnificent parkour talents! This will continue until we are out the door! (We have now learned that grabbing his harness & snack bag is the absolute last thing to do before walking out of the house!) I wish I could say he is behaved on the drive over, but that is definitely not true! He paces in the backseat, waiting for that left hand turn onto Shipwash Drive! The whining starts before the truck even finishes the turn! When we finally arrive, he definitely let's me know that I am ruining his day by taking my time with the leash! No "bye mom!" No goodbye kisses! When he sees Ms. Jody or any of the lovely ladies working, he forgets who I am! He doesn't even look back! When we are out of town, he is boarded at Bone Voyage. I would like to think he misses me, but I also know that is not true! Between the time he spends with friends outside to snack & nap time, the pool, the Halloween costume parties & all the love that the staff show him, I honestly believe he would never come home if he had the choice! Don't trust this place with your fur babies. We dropped our lab off here for a week stay. It was suppose to be a vacation for her while we were on vacation and I picked it because of the reviews and the fact that they have a pool. When we picked up our sweet girl, I noticed a wet spot on her neck. Figured another dog had licked her on the way out. NOPE. I got her home and gave her a bath only to notice the massive chunk taken out of her neck. Got her to the vet and she had 3 huge infected bite marks in addition to a ton of other bites and scratches. We're use to her coming back with a few scratches here and there but this was really bad. Now she's on antibiotics and wearing a cone around her neck. My poor baby. The kicker is that they didn't even bother to tell us that there was an incident. They gave us a report card showing she was sweet and social (she's very good with other dogs) and I've pretty sure they wiped off all the blood to hide the injuries just as they were taking her out to us. I have 2 miniature dachshunds. I've now boarded with them about 5-6 times. I was immediately impressed by how clean it was when I entered the first time. Everything smelled good and looked good. I've had no issues at all. Both dogs are able to share a medium sized crate. They're excited when I drop them off and have always been happy and clean when I've picked them up. Jody is really nice & helpful. We have used bone voyage for day care, boarding & grooming in the past when our regular groomer/day care isn't available. They are really caring & the animals in their care are well taken care of. I trust my fur babies with them. Our most recent experience with day boarding was great as usual, my dogs came back exhausted & happy. We also had them bathed, they are definitely clean & shiny my only complaint is they smell terrible. Ms Jody remedied the situation quickly. This was the first time we boarded our two dogs at Bone Voyage and I felt comfortable the minute we dropped them off for their week stay. The lobby was clean and didn't smell like urine (like other kennels) and the staff was friendly and professional. I liked how prepared they were with individual pet profiles for each dog which included photos for easy identification. They asked about each animals routine and took down notes. The thing that made me feel most comfortable actually had nothing to do with my own animals. There was a cat in the kitty section and because he was the o lay guy in there, they allowed him out of his cage to roam the secured enclosed room. That showed me that they cared for the well being of that cat. Instead of locking him in the small cage, they allowed him to roam and sit perched in the large window- to me, that symbolizes their compassion and dedication to truly care for each individual animal and thoughtfully consider what's best for their needs. I appreciated that and it made me feel at ease. They were busy and had many dogs yet the barking wasn't overwhelming. The animals didn't seem stressed out in there- they were just communicating, if that makes sense. The pricing was competitive and fair and they offer a military discount which I thought was very generous and I appreciated after a week of boarding. I also liked being able to add a bath to our services before going home. We signed them up for doggy daycare to get additional time out of their kennel during the day. I highly recommend Bone Voyage. All items we sent with the dogs were returned and they were fed their food. so have one dog that requires special enzymes to be added to her food and I can tell at bowel movements if she's been getting it or not and when she got home, all looks well. Thank you Bone Voyage for taking great care of our dogs!!! My only feedback would be to consider adding cameras so that people can view their dogs while away, that's a feature you don't offer that other kennels do. We have left our pup here twice now and know she is getting love and attention she needs when we can't be w her. It's a great feeling to be confident about that when you have to be away from your furbaby bc they are family and you want them safe and loved. The staff has been attentive to our needs and available for questions. Love that we can "fetch a reservation" online and the facilities are always so clean and in order. This is not the closest doggie care facility to us but this is the one we will always use bc we trust them, their rates are fair, and we like having a happy pup when we return home. read more

My pup Cashew is a bit of a troublemaker, but he loves going to Bone Voyage. He's typically afraid of people approaching him, but he lets the staff there snuggle up on him right when he gets out of the car. The staff is wonderful (especially Jody). They really love and know how to handle my challenging dog. We drive out of our way to go there because of the price and amenities. We searched for a long time to find a clean and caring place to take Mutley, a Wheaten. We found Bone Voyage about 5 years ago and could not have been happier. We added a new pup Wheaten, Peanut to our family; they both loved going to Bone Voyage. They were side by side when stayed. Now we have just Ms Peanut, and she doesn't want to come home. She loves the attention, daycare with her 4 legged buds, and belly rubs. Vacation time at Bone Voyage is just that for our fur baby. When Peanut comes home, it takes a few days of being lazy and sleeping to recover....I think she has more fun than we do on vacation! Our dog stayed here for 3 nights while we were visiting NC. We were concerned at first about her staying at another boarding facility as her prior experience at a different facility was less than great but she was very clearly a very happy puppy when we picked her up. The people at the front desk were very friendly and when other customers came in with their dogs, it was obvious the dogs were excited to be there. We take our golden retriever to Bone Voyage once a week. We love the staff and the play areas. Our girl loves her daycare days! We love that she gets a lot of exercise and that the staff take such good care of her. One of the great things about Bone Voyage is their swimming pool. Your dog can enjoy that during daycare, or you can rent private access to the pool. We rented the pool for our girl's birthday and really enjoyed that time playing with her there. Buy a daycare package and save a little bit of money. We've not boarded our dog there, but I would not hesitate to do so. read more

On more than 1 occasion, my dog has gotten ill while at Bone Voyage or has gotten bit and required vet attention. In both cases, there was no contact from Bone Voyage until I picked my dog up. Also, Bone Voyage never sent any notification, or posted a notification, regarding a contagious illness being present at their facility. The only concern here is the money. This place rocks and is reasonably priced, I only wish they had later pick up hours and daycare on weekends. Katie and her mom are always friendly and my dog is always happy and tired, and barely makes it home without passing out in the car. A few times I didn't have my dog's vaccine updated and I was running late to work. Even though they don't have vet services on site, Katie will bring your dog to a local animal clinic for a small very reasonable fee. Plus, they just renovated to make it even more awesome - expanded the play area and more pools, very beautifully designed. Hands down the best day care in the Raleigh area. I have been taking my 9 month old German Shepard and 2 year old rescue here for a few months now. My rescue has extreme anxiety and when I picked her up at other boarding venues she would be anxious and nervous but ever since finding this place, when I pick her up she is happy, smiling, and wagging her tail. It's such a relief to know that both of my dogs are being well taken care of, looked after, and loved while Mom and Dad are gone. They love being here and are military friendly!
