Not the most compassionate office around. Something you want in a vet, right?…read more I called to ask a their end of life services. Once they realized I wasn't a customer, they left me on hold, only to say no they wouldn't be able to see me for weeks because the doctor was traveling. No relief doc, really? I won't be taking my pet there for checkups. That's for sure. Update. Read the manager 's reply and then my other reviews. This reply illustrates exactly who they are. The manager attacks my character, calling me negative, without knowing me at ALL. She didn't read my reviews because I rarely give a negative review, but hundreds of people have read and appreciated my honest reviews. Don't trust your pets with them.

I can't believe I haven't written a review for my favorite veterinarian yet!! I've been bringing my…read moredogs and cats to Dr. Foley and her staff since I moved here in 2014. She truly cares about your pets and she's affordable. I had an elderly lab named Shadow who passed away from cancer at 13, and Dr. Foley and her team were all crying with my boyfriend and I because they truly cared about him. They helped us get him cremated, they took care of the entire process. I just love them. And when I had a feral mama cat and her babies show up at my house, I trapped them all and she spayed, neutered and vaccinated them all for a reasonable price. We rescued another lab mix named Luke who had been through a lot of trauma and has PTSD. Dr. Foley helped us treat him with calming treats and she gave us advice on how to help him acclimate to his new life. He's now one of the best dogs ever! We will always take our pets to Dr. Foley and her team for any of their needs.

I called 4 vets and no one could get me in and I was trying to avoid going to an emergency vet due to the expense. When I called Swift Creek the person I spoke with said they were pretty booked but that she would see what they could do for me and my dog. She came back in a couple of minutes and said they could get me if I could come in soon. I drove Buu straight there and they got us in. There was nothing serious but they gave him an injection that really helped him. He slept through the night and the next day no more vomiting. The price was a lot less than an ER vet. These people really care and they understood how important my Buu is to me! You deserve that kind of care and so does your pet! If I am ever back in Raleigh, I will find a reason to drop in!

He's recently developed some anxiety around vet visits, as a lot of pets do, but, with a little encouragement from me and the staff, he is usually able to make it through his visits and be fine. Unfortunately during our past couple appointments, the vet seemed to have very little time or patience for him, creating a stressful and unproductive experience for me and my dog. I understand that everyone has a job to do, but I'd rather take my baby somewhere with vets who are happy and willing to take the little bit of extra time to give him the care he needs and try to create a better experience for him. Sedatives are great for pets having a hard time, but I was made to feel like they wanted to sedate my pet as to not have to spend any amount of time making him feel comfortable and safe.

After my member discount I paid 60 dollars for an antibiotic! And they are always trying to force me into paying for things that are not needed or wanted. Most of the staff is great and treats my dog wonderfully. But I've had a couple bad experiences that have stuck with me. Once when a nurse came in my dog hit her head on the leg of the table in her excitement to go see her(she was only 5 months) and the nurse laughed and said "well shes not the brightest crayon in the box is she?" We spend a lot of time training our very intelligent dog and this lady told me my dog was stupid right to my face, I was not happy to say the least. Then I love most of the vets there they always tell me how sweet and loving my pup is but I got this one who I swear acts like she hates animals. She acted super annoyed with my dog. She was bothered by the fact that she jumps, shes a 5 month old boxer and any good vet we've seen said they expect nothing less of her. I have to take my pup soon to get spayed. While they were telling me about what's going to happen that day they let me know that the sedative that they use to keep the animals calm during that stressful time may not be safe for my boxer, in boxers it may cause an unsafe drop in blood pressure that could kill them. Then they tell me that they only cover the one sedative and if I don't want to take the risk I would have to pay another 35 dollars for a safe sedative. As a veterinarian I think they should have the animals well being in mind, they should cover the safe sedative because they want to make sure that they have my dogs best interest in mind. I will of course be paying the extra 35 dollars, I love my dog and would not risk her life, but I'm disappointed that Banfield doesn't care.

I took my senior dog here because I had some concerns and questions about his health. I gave him…read moresome calming medicine before we got there and he was pretty wobbly and confused. We get put in a room and someone comes in without even introducing herself, so I had no idea if she was the vet or a nurse. I told her I gave him this medicine and she said she was making a note of it. She started asking me a bunch of questions as to why I wanted him seen, and I told her. I felt like I had to keep repeating myself. She showed no emotion at all and I was very uncomfortable the whole time because she seemed like she didn't know what she was doing. At one point, I thought she might be a student. I still don't even know her name. I told her I wanted them to do as much as they could in the room, while I was with my dog, since he gets very scared and anxious. She proceeds to loop a leash around his neck, opens the door to go to the back to get a BP reading, and tries to drag him in there. I said "He's on medication, so can you do as much as you can here first?" and as I was asking that, I heard someone in the back say "don't stress that dog out!" So, this girl, who I realized is a nurse, comes back and says she has a portable machine. I had to remind her multiple times he had this medicine. She said she was going to get someone to help her with a blood draw, so she brings back another person, who doesn't introduce herself, and they proceed to put a cage muzzle around my dog's snout. He resisted for a little bit but then eventually gave in and stayed still. This other person was very good with my dog, she was gentle and was able to get a good stick in his jugular in order to draw the blood needed for his tests. After that, in comes person number three with a vial and a syringe and starts drawing some Lyme disease vaccination telling me she knows my dog's never had it before but this is included in his plan. I started asking questions and I told her since my dog is almost 11 years old and doesn't go anywhere except for walks with me, I don't think it's necessary, especially since he's never had it before. This person who didn't introduce herself either, tells me it's a lifestyle vaccination and if I wanted it he'd get it now and then has to come back in 3 weeks for a booster. I realized she was the veterinarian after she got down on her knees and started examining my dog. I told her my concerns and she evaluated them. After the exam, she was in and out of the room multiple times but I still had so many questions. Not once, did she ask me if I had any questions, except for when I guess she got annoyed and said "is there anything else you need because I have other things to do?" They tried to push a dental cleaning on my dog and I said he's gone this long without one, I really don't want to do anything that's unnecessary, so they recommended finger brushing his teeth with toothpaste. Then I asked about pain control for his hips, and she came and slammed a bag of joint chews down on the table and said that's what she recommends. I later realized this was Dr Coon, the vet he was supposed to see, at least I think it was because she never introduced herself. I paid $187 and left with 6 months worth of flea and tick prevention and a senior plan. They want me to bring my dog back for a drop off to do a sedated x-ray but I'm really not interested in that after seeing how they treat pets when the owner is right there in the room. I'm really not sure if I still want to keep this plan. If I do keep it, I will go to a different location. I'm willing to cancel my contract and pay for the services I received today just to take him to a vet that will actually spend some time with us and not act annoyed because they have to do their job. I should have listened to my intuition and canceled my appointment. One star is for the person who told the other girl not to stress my dog out and for the one who was very gentle. Oh, when we got in the room, it also had poop on the floor from another animal.
