I started coming here to groom my dogs when I moved to Smithfield in 2016. For about 2 years they groomed my 3, very different dogs for a very reasonable price. The dogs always seemed well cared for and as calm as you could expect going for a grooming. My family and I moved out of state for a few years and returned in 2023- even though we no longer drive in Smithfield, we drive about 30 mins to bring our 4 dogs (2 are the same. 2 different). In the last 2 weeks, I have had my 13yr old Jack Russell get shaved ($60) and my 2.5yr old Husky mix get a de-shed and "butt fluff" clean up ($100). Both doggos looked and smelled great, and my husky was so comfy it was hard for them to get her to leave lol! I think pricing is great (they haven't even changed pricing on my Jack Russell since 2016)! But more importantly, they seem genuinely kind and caring to the dogs they care for. read more

I have brought my dog, Chesty to Paws and Claws twice. He is a small mixed breed terrier that seems to be getting grumpier as he's putting on years. He is persona non grata at Petco. Rebecca and the rest of the staff have been terrific and Chesty always comes back in a great mood. I highly recommend Paws and Claws grooming, They have great customer service at a good price. read more

Tanner did an amazing job with our mini poodle. I'm not a fan of the typical poodle look, and usually their fur is difficult to grow out and not mat and they are patient and did great with our Teddy. read more

10 years of awesome care of our Maggie! She loves going and when going in the from door she knows exactly where she needs to go. Taken great care of, from her nails to her bath/deshed. Firstly this place is awesome hands down! My baby girl is a rescue and has terrible anxiety. They were so patient with her and did as much as they could. They definitely have my business here and I'll be bringing my other dog in soon! If you are skeptical or feeling apprehensive and worried about your fur baby say no more! Paws N Claws will move at your pets pace no rushing, no forcing, they take their time And my dog is looking nice and pretty. The staff is wonderful and answered all our questions, and the pricing is extremely reasonable. read more

I believe this facility is better than good when it comes to caring for your pets! Sometimes a dog owner cares for their pet so much but does not trust even a good pet grooming place. Spouse would call the place after I picked up the dog and thought his claws were not trimmed but I always witnessed the opposite! His tail wagged quickly and he looked like a spoiled dog. I enjoy coming here but if I get here and another customer is present it becomes an issue a problem due to the area or lack of space. All in all, two thumbs up! read more

Just moved to the area, and I decided to try Paws and Claws, even though they were further away then most. I believe in reviews. I have a large Golden, and they are known for being stinky. I am so excited to report he smells AMAZING, the people were so nice, and the price was amazing. Usually I get ripped off cause he is so large, and is still stinky. Not here!! I will be back. They sell these pet odor candles, got one on a whim, my room no longer smells like pets in less than 30 minutes, cause even febreeze wasn't enough. My only suggestion, and it's funny, My dog Bear is clearly a boy, I didn't get the handkerchief with the spa package, he got a ribbon. It's ok, it touched his feminine side, but my son took it off. Lol, you will see me again. read more

I've had a great experience taking my dog and cat here. I've always been able to call last minute in the morning and bring my dog in. They have a record of the usual spa treatments she gets. The cat, however, I have to make a weekday appointment. That can be tough with working during the week. We did manage to make it work and we got the cat shaved like a lion. That was fun. read more

I would certainly recommend Paws N Claws! Rebecca does a great job with my senior dog, after her lifelong groomer moved. She comes out and greets you, asks questions about the cut, services requested, etc. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I brought in my Australian Shepherd to have him bathed and groomed. When I got there at 9:40 am the lady came out and went over everything I wanted to be done. I specifically asked for him to not be cut too short and just trim him up, bath, nails cut and deshedding. I left and they FINALLY called at 2:11 pm and said he was done. I got there and paid they brought him out and I was absolutely HORRIFIED!!!!! Not only was he cut WAY too short but he wasn't even the same length in most spots. Around his neck is the absolute worst part of it all. I told the lady that I didn't like it and left. I called when I got to the house after really looking him over and asked for a refund. The lady said they don't do refunds and said they would do a free service next time, in which I responded I would NEVER be bringing my dog back here and that it needed to be straightened out. Someone else got on the phone and asked if I would like them to fix it, in which I respond you can't glue hair back on and yall already messed him up and you want me to let you cut him even shorter where he is long to fix it? No. So I was given the option to void my transaction, which I did. I have heard some amazing things about this place and I was expecting something good but they were TERRIBLE!!! I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!! read more

I've been going to Paws n Claws in Smithfield for nearly 14 years and my pets have consistently received top-notch service. They all do an excellent job. I have no complaints and trust them completely. I moved to Zebulon earlier this year and I tried a groomer in the area once, but returned to Paws n Claws. It is well worth the drive. Danielle is absolutely the best. The prices are very reasonable and they offer specials frequently. Thank you, Danielle and thank you Paws n Claws! read more

I needed a last minute grooming appointment for my 12 week old Yorkie, Mollie Roo. I traveled from Goldsboro all the way to Smithfield, and I have to say- It was well worth my time and money. The groomer there (I can't remember her name) was soooooo good to my baby the moment she got there. She played with her and spoiled her! This was Mollie's second grooming appointment and I have to say...she was not anxious or upset when I picked her up! WOW. I will definitely continue to take the time to continue going there. read more

This was the first time that I've ever had any of my dogs taken to a business to take care of bathing and clipping nails. Our puppy is a little hard to keep still while clipping nails, so we decided to go a different route. He came home smelling fantastic, nails clipped neatly and a cute bandana around his neck. Thank you to the staff for taking good care of my baby! read more

What a great place for my girl to get groomed. Elizabeth, Zibby and Danielle have all groomed my girl Carolina. She always looks great, and, is well cared for, while at this salon. They do a great job grooming our mini golden doodle. We ask for a puppy cut and it's perfect every time. Thank you

Maggie is a very picky 13 year old puppy that hates having her nails done and bad hips and she loves going here to get her grooming done. They bathe her and remove a TON of fur - which keeps this mama very happy! She goes right back with them and comes back a happy dog - a big change from her previous groomer. We will definitely keep bringing Maggie to see them. read more

I drive from Raleigh to have my Goldendoodle groomed here every 8 weeks when I work near by. He's 10 years old and for the first 9 years of his life he was groomed by various groomers - Paws n Claws is by far the best groom we have gotten, he smells great and is teddy bear soft for weeks after. read more

I have a collie, beautiful dog five years old. Gentle animal. This "groomer" did not do a bad job on him (brushing out his overcoat)--they did no job. One week after paying them $60 for taking care of Rocky I have to take him to another groomer to do the job as it should have been. They are horrible, and were frankly rude to me. I will never trust them with another of my animals. read more

Have used Paw's N Claw's for about 10 months now and on the last grooming visit, the owner lost his harness which also included his AKC Neverlost tag. So, the harness/leash replacement was $35 and the AKC tag was $20 to replace. The owner was not apologetic and stated that I may have forgotten. I never take his harness off. I will not be going back to Paws N Claws grooming, very careless and not responsible. read more
