The dogs always seemed well cared for and as calm as you could expect going for a grooming. My family and I moved out of state for a few years and returned in 2023- even though we no longer drive in Smithfield, we drive about 30 mins to bring our 4 dogs (2 are the same. 2 different). In the last 2 weeks, I have had my 13yr old Jack Russell get shaved ($60) and my 2.5yr old Husky mix get a de-shed and "butt fluff" clean up ($100). Both doggos looked and smelled great, and my husky was so comfy it was hard for them to get her to leave lol! I think pricing is great (they haven't even changed pricing on my Jack Russell since 2016)! But more importantly, they seem genuinely kind and caring to the dogs they care for.

A few days later she sent an email ending our "business relationship" because though our "complaints and concerns are valid" she "could not confirm or deny" what happened. I wish to point out that when I told her of these concerns that I was as polite as I could be with her, so that she was aware of what happened. In her email to us she expressed that she felt very anxious while working on our dog after our exchange. Which is part of the reason she quit. After 5 years of having her come to our house to groom our pet and having a pleasant business relationship we thought we had, we thought that bringing things like this to her attention would be nothing more than something for her to consider while working on our pet, regardless of whether she could confirm or deny what she was being being told.

I don't recommend this groomer and would be very cautious trusting them with your dog's grooming. Before the appointment, I was asked if I wanted a summer cut for my Golden Retriever and I declined. I explained that I wanted a standard Golden trim like her previous grooms, with very little taken off overall and extra trimming around her sanitary area and behind. Instead, she was clipped all over, leaving less than one inch of hair around her entire body. On top of that, several areas were uneven and choppy. This was in no way what I asked for. My dog is healthy, well-maintained, and not matted, so there was no reason for her coat to be taken this short, especially after I specifically declined a shorter cut. I reached out to them and provided photos from her previous two grooms with this company, including one from the same groomer, showing a very clear difference in length. Initially, I was told the groomer confirmed he completed the same style as her previous groom, which is exactly what I requested. However, after I sent comparison photos showing this groom was clearly much shorter, I was then told the groomer used the documented clipper length from her previous visits. I'm not sure how that could be reflected in her notes when her previous grooms were visibly much longer, and I've never requested that she be clipped all over. Regardless of what was documented, the instructions I provided at the appointment should have been followed. The customer service afterward was just as disappointing. The responses felt like I was talking to a chatbot instead of a business genuinely trying to understand and resolve the issue, which is also reflected in their responses to other reviews. The focus was on defending the groom rather than acknowledging that the service provided did not match what was requested. After paying $180 for the groom plus a $36 tip, the only resolution offered was a $25 credit toward a future appointment. I also noticed another recent review mentioning that grooming instructions were not followed and that the final cut did not match what was requested. After my own experience, I understand the frustration. For anyone looking for a mobile groomer, I highly recommend Woofie's of NW Raleigh instead. They charged $135 for the same service, followed my instructions perfectly on the first visit, and provided a detailed pet journal with photos and notes from the appointment. I would recommend them over this groomer based on both the quality of the service and the much better customer experience.
