They assured me he will be fine and they would keep them cool. They also said I could call any time to check on him. I called once a day during the week he was there, and every time they picked up the phone they said "let me check on him", and came back and said "he is ok", asked for more details, the answer was still "he is okay". When I picked up my dog at the end of the trip, he looked not himself -- instead of cheerfully greeting me, he seemed slow and not even been able to focus on anything. When we got home, he was lying on the floor started panting. The panting got worse and he coughed very bad throughout the day. I had to take him to the vet the next day, spent $200+ dollars for the vet visit. I had no idea how he was treated during the stay at Pooch Pad but I would never ever take my baby back there!

You could tell more irl that it was cut a bit and had blood smeared. My dog seemed super happy to be there and walked right in through the dog gate to the back. When I was talking to the woman at the register she said that she (my dog) acted like she knew the drill and walked right into her kennel/cage which is incredible because she hates water or baths and usually tries to make a run for it at least she did when we would take her to Petco. Super friendly and helpful staff and extremely reasonable prices ($110 for an XL? dog: mini groom/teeth brushed and clipped nails included)l. My dog is usually between 105-110 lbs). They did SUCH a good job clipping her nails. Even the vets we've seen in the past can't do a good job and sometimes miss nails altogether. They did a wonderful job. Would come back and skip the belly shave. Parking is a loading zone at the front of the shop. It's "downtown" Raleigh but like on the outskirts so it's not too busy and it isn't difficult to get a parking spot if you go in the morning. Drop off is between 8-10am. I dropped her off at 9 and they finished by around 3 (like 2:45 to be exact haha).

I was able to make an appointment within a week of calling. We were worried about him losing weight and hair. We arrived 15 minutes early for our appointment and were taken back immediately. The vet tech (I'm forgetting her name) was so incredibly sweet and caring. Frank, our cat, was so comfortable and calm once he was out of his carrier and being loved on by her. Dr. Hackett is absolutely amazing. She was quick to come in after the vet tech and immediately began a routine exam on Frank with soft words and gentle hands, even a few jokes. She unfortunately felt a lump on his belly and called for an X-ray right away, which confirmed our fears. Dr. Hackett had tissues readily available for me once she broke the news. She delivers clear and concise information, with realistic outcomes. I didn't feel at all like I was being pressured into "trying different things" (uselessly throwing money at something we unfortunately can't fix). She was very kind and honest with me about the reality of the situation with Frank and I very much appreciated that. She gave me some solutions to make Frank more comfortable and how to spend the time we have left with him. My husband and I are very grateful, thank you so much Stage Road, you're all very kind and helpful. We will definitely be bringing our dog Charlie here for care as well!

Took my dog up there on 27th of August for cherry eye surgery and to get spayed. $1000s of dollars later and multiple vet bills bc my dog got really sick from meds and had to be hooked to IV's. 2 weeks after final eye check up cherry eye is back out. They tell us that they could do surgery again for discounted rate. Something wasn't done right bc no way if it was stitched properly it would last less than a month. They did say it probably will never come back out but could when she gets older and here i am $1000s of dollar spent and have the same looking dog with huge cherry eye after spending money on surgery, diarrhea meds, probiotics, eye creams, cones, changing her foods bc her stomach was so sensitive afterwards... I'm beyond frustrated and the lack of accountability from Clayton Animal Hospital is just astounding. Fix what you didn't do right is all I'm asking... Side note: 2 weeks after surgery we started seeing the white stitching string. The vet said this is normal. Now I don't think it is bc I think the stitching was coming out. Side note: their staff is great and pleasant to deal with and I love all of them and I hope we can come to resolution and I can update later that they did the right thing
