Great customer service and such a fun activity!! I went here with a friend and we spent a couple of hours perfecting our pieces and yapping together. I also think if you're someone who might not be the most artistic this is such a fun activity and is easy for anyone to do! Definitely want to go again.

This is a great spot to take young kids all the way up to Adults. I wouldn't suggest kids 4 years old / younger or kids who cannot control themselves due to the possibility of causing pottery breakages. Otherwise, Petroglyph Ceramic in Los Gatos is a wonderful place to explore your child's creativity and well as yourself. The facility is well lighted and clean. You can reserve table(s) which I recommend specially for parties, get togethers and weekends. Staff is friendly and helpful ! Supplies are abundant so waiting is minimal if not at all. Another plus, afterwards you have plenty of nice restaurants in downtown LG to choose from. Cost is not cheap but not outrageous either. Plan to spend over $100.00 plus for a party of 4 . It all depends what each child / Adult picks out from the numerous paintable pottery items on the shelves. Lastly, I've always enjoyed each time I've been there and looking forward to many more visits !

Came here with a group of girlfriends on a Saturday. It was totally empty aside from a couple kids and a family, and perfect for our group of 8. Two of us had been to petroglyph before so we sat down and got right to it. But I do wish we had received some instruction for example about the stands because some of our hands were cramping from holding it. The pitcher was $75 which honestly equates to the cost of a craft pitcher so I think it was worth it! So happy to have a memento.

I am a big fan of art and this place is fun! I went mid day during the week and I must have showed up right at the right time. This place gets busy and noisy. For a paint shop you would think the ground would be solid and not shake when people walk by, but it took my paintbrush in the wrong direction a few times. Good thing all the paint is water based and is easily removed! There is a $14 "service charge" no matter what plus the cost of the price you decide to paint. I guess you could say it's over priced, but you'll keep this set piece for as long as you can manage to not drop it! It takes 4 days to be fired and ready for pickup. They have tons of options to paint to suit almost any crowd. It's great to see the young and older folks here bonding with family.

Came here for a date night. The place is awesome: a lot of mugs, bowls, decorative objects and other types of ceramics to choose from. Grab whatever art supplies appeal and go make your unique custom piece! It has an old time-y vibe to it, with an appropriate soundtrack. Super friendly staff, explained everything and let us work a little longer since we arrived late. Work in progress can be taken home and resumed at any other time. Love the whole concept and loved my first time experience there. Will be back!

This is a fun, bonding experience for adults and kids alike. If you are looking for something off the beaten for a team event, I would recommend this. You can combine it with a nice lunch or dinner at one of the restaurants on the strip. It's great to see people exercising their creative side and it's fun to see a lot of people (me including) really struggle to make something that does not look like a 5-year-old made it.

A taaad pricey but great for special occasions! Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 5/5** There was only one woman working at the time and she did a great job of explaining the process, letting us know how many coats to paint, etc. **Decor & cleanliness, 5/5** Clean and cozy interior with art everywhere and table set up so everything was ready for you to paint. The paint also washes off easily from your hands and clothes. **Price, 3.5/5** Prices are a little steep -- $14 studio fee which covers the art supplies and firing, and most plates and bowls run about $20-30, so you can easily spend over $50 on a plate. Totally worth it if it's a date or special occasion though. **Art materials, 4/5** Great selection of bowls, plates, figurines, and ornaments to paint. I do wish there was a bigger selection of mugs. There were also tons of paint colors available, but a lot of the bumpy paints were dried out and there weren't many solid fine tipped brushes. **Other notes** Parking can be really difficult on this street, and it'll take about 5 days afterwards until your items are ready to pick up.

I love coming here to to paint my piece it's so fun and relaxing and even if you don't finish you can take it home and come back again

My boyfriend and I decided to come here to paint some ceramics. We went to another color me mine before but they were all booked for the day so we were calling other similar spots to see if we could just walk in. This petroglyph responded promptly and told us they had space open and we can come in anytime, so we headed here right after. We painted two plates and some small figurines. They had lots of paints, brushes, and tools that we could use. The workers were friendly and were there to answer any questions we had. We spent hours in there painting and it was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. I would definitely come back when I want a fun and chill activity to do! :)

The area itself is super cute and cozy, with seating by the windows as well as large tables for bigger parties. We were able to pick up our pieces about 5 days later? And the staff were super nice and helpful then as well! I'm in love with how the finished pieces turned out after firing. ***3.5 stars overall***…read more I took a friend to Color Me Mine for their birthday. This location was convenient but it was really small. I am glad I made a table reservation. (You put a $10 deposit on the table that ends up going towards your final bill.) Because of the long rectangular shape of the store, the staff sit in the middle of the store, so no one greets you when you walk in. Thus, we were a little confused when we entered -- not knowing if we look for our table first or look for a ceramic piece first? Or do we check in somewhere? A greeting from the staff would have solved this. Without leaving their counter, someone briefly and hurriedly explained the process and locations of everything, and left us to begin. Even though I had done this before, it was my first time at this store and it was my friend's first painting pottery ever, and we were both lost, even after her mini tutorial. (I have been to pottery painting places where they walk you to the paint area to get you started, as an example of comparison.) Thankfully I remembered things from previous experiences that the painted ceramic tiles by the paint bottles with 3 squares symbolize what the different layers would look like after firing. (This is critical knowledge that the staff should point out to each group, so we'd understand how each layer of paint looks when dried/fired because sometimes we may want to paint 3 layers of paint, but not always. It was crucial to understand how to reference these tiles!) The paints and brushes were in one corner; the sink and paper towels were around the corner in the back of the store; and there was one main shelf of unpainted pottery choices (with a range of prices, but after adding in your $10 a person sitting fee, the final cost adds up, so be sure you like the piece you choose!) We chose to paint one large piece together rather than 2 smaller pieces. To make the look more cohesive, we chose colors within a certain range (lavenders and yellows/orange), and then we didn't look at the each other's side! It was very fun. **Some Things To Note** - Your table reservation gives you 2 hours. (We finished in that time but we also didn't do a lot of detailed work. I actually think most people would need more time than that if you choose a large ceramic or are painting details.) - The tables are pretty close together, so you don't get much privacy. We all heard each other's conversations. It was also very narrow to walk between the tables when people were painting, so it may not be a place to bring active kids who can't sit still for long periods of time. - It looks like they allow outdoor food because many were bringing their own snacks. I brought in an outside drink, which I'm glad I did because it was warm and you sit there for hours. - They do have a bathroom, if anyone is wondering. - It may take a week for them to get to your ceramic piece, glaze and fire it, but we got a text that it was ready around 4 days after painting it. It is a fun experience to paint pottery, as long as you can afford it and feel comfortable approaching the counter to ask your questions because the staff doesn't seem like they go out of their way to offer help unfortunately.
