***3.5 stars overall*** I took a friend to Color Me Mine for their birthday. This location was convenient but it was really small. I am glad I made a table reservation. (You put a $10 deposit on the table that ends up going towards your final bill.) Because of the long rectangular shape of the store, the staff sit in the middle of the store, so no one greets you when you walk in. Thus, we were a little confused when we entered -- not knowing if we look for our table first or look for a ceramic piece first? Or do we check in somewhere? A greeting from the staff would have solved this. Without leaving their counter, someone briefly and hurriedly explained the process and locations of everything, and left us to begin. Even though I had done this before, it was my first time at this store and it was my friend's first painting pottery ever, and we were both lost, even after her mini tutorial. (I have been to pottery painting places where they walk you to the paint area to get you started, as an example of comparison.) Thankfully I remembered things from previous experiences that the painted ceramic tiles by the paint bottles with 3 squares symbolize what the different layers would look like after firing. (This is critical knowledge that the staff should point out to each group, so we'd understand how each layer of paint looks when dried/fired because sometimes we may want to paint 3 layers of paint, but not always. It was crucial to understand how to reference these tiles!) The paints and brushes were in one corner; the sink and paper towels were around the corner in the back of the store; and there was one main shelf of unpainted pottery choices (with a range of prices, but after adding in your $10 a person sitting fee, the final cost adds up, so be sure you like the piece you choose!) We chose to paint one large piece together rather than 2 smaller pieces. To make the look more cohesive, we chose colors within a certain range (lavenders and yellows/orange), and then we didn't look at the each other's side! It was very fun. **Some Things To Note** - Your table reservation gives you 2 hours. (We finished in that time but we also didn't do a lot of detailed work. I actually think most people would need more time than that if you choose a large ceramic or are painting details.) - The tables are pretty close together, so you don't get much privacy. We all heard each other's conversations. It was also very narrow to walk between the tables when people were painting, so it may not be a place to bring active kids who can't sit still for long periods of time. - It looks like they allow outdoor food because many were bringing their own snacks. I brought in an outside drink, which I'm glad I did because it was warm and you sit there for hours. - They do have a bathroom, if anyone is wondering. - It may take a week for them to get to your ceramic piece, glaze and fire it, but we got a text that it was ready around 4 days after painting it. It is a fun experience to paint pottery, as long as you can afford it and feel comfortable approaching the counter to ask your questions because the staff doesn't seem like they go out of their way to offer help unfortunately. read more

I did a solo date here about month and half ago. I picked a big mug to paint my beloved Moki baby and a unicorn drinking boba. The staff is friendly. There's plenty of paint. My only gripe is the paint brushes. I picky about paint brushes as I'm a painting instructor. The smallest brushes weren't that pointy at all. I could have gone to my car to grab a brush, but I decided to just use their brushes. I made it work still with what is there. I brought my earpods and listen to some music and podcast while I zoned in to painting my creation on the mug. It was a relaxing and fun experience. There were some kids around, but I didn't mind their noises. Lol... They informed me that it'll take about a week for my mug to be ready for pick up, but within 2 days I got a text saying that it's ready. So I picked it up 3 days later, and it was beautiful! Fun painting spot in Eastridge mall! I could easily spend hours at Color Me Mine. Went on a Sunday evening around 6pm and there were plenty of open tables. I painted an elephant coin bank and my friends painted a money coin bank and a bowl. Overall we had a good time! One minor note: everyone needs to turn in their items 20 minutes before closing, which we didn't realized until it was announced about 40 minutes before. This is probably standard practice but an earlier heads-up would been nice as we had to rush towards the end. read more

Cute idea for date night or with a group of friends! I suggest making a reservation online to ensure there's a table ready for you. They also offer occasional promotions online that are worth checking out - we went on a day where they waived the studio fee which definitely helped cut costs! They charge a $10 studio fee on top of the price of your piece and give you a 2 hr session. Cost of pieces ranged from $15+. They had everything from simple plates/cups to piggy banks, flower vases, etc. I was impressed with their selection. Since it was our first time and we don't have much creativity, we picked mugs that already had a design for easy painting. I do wish they would explain the process more. They sort of rushed through explaining the process and we were a bit confused at first. You pick out your colors and brushes, but be careful to check their color guide since the colors look different before and after glazing/firing. 2 hours went by too quickly and I wish we had more time, but we did spend the first 30 mins trying to figure out which piece to get and figuring out where everything was. It was a fun and almost therapeutic time painting. Our pieces were finished in 5 days, and they texted us to pickup the pieces. There were some surface irregularities in the glazing, so it wasn't entirely smooth. But all in all this was a great experience and I would probably come back! read more

I heard about this spot for awhile now but never thought to come here until a friend suggested this for a girl's hangout. We booked a party of 3 for a 5pm time slot on a Saturday. Walked in and received instructions. It took us some time to pick out our pottery because there were so many choices. Once we did, we selected our colors and started to paint away. Two hours goes by so quickly! Because this was the last time slot before they close, they didn't kick those remaining out right away. They let you finish any final touches before you leave your pottery for them to glaze. We got to pick up our pottery in about a week. Some colors came out faint, and some spots looked smeared which was supposed to have just been water spots. Overall it was a fun and therapeutic experience. read more

They lost my piece and told me as such with zero care. They didn't ruin it, they didn't break it, it wasn't late, it was just poof gone. It's the only thing a place like this should never do, and when they lost it, the manager (?) owner (?) said, "it happens." My wife had to share the sentimental value behind what we had spent the hours making, and the guy's response was silence afterwards. It completely kills the experience. It's not replaceable by a refund or a free session. You don't just put a price on something someone builds with heart and care. My first time visiting a coloring studio! So glad our first experience was enjoyable. This location really stocked up on their paints and supplies. They provided stamps, stencils, aprons, Sponges, even lazy Susan turntables to make painting round objects easier. I only wish they had fine line brushes for lettering or small details but that's alright. I love that they even had a pets corner, where they have pet bowls, statues, and other pet related ceramics to paint. This is a great place to come with friends & family! My sister planned a date for us here and we came last week. We had an incredible time. I love the variety of pots, plates, mugs, and vases. There is a paint and brush station which is nice and they have a solid range of colors to choose from. The finished product could be used as a birthday or holiday gift, an anniversary or even a unique object for the house. My wife and sister finished working on their plates which came out beautiful. I do recommend that the employees first inform their new guests with general rules, directions, and maybe even tips to begin with. During our session, we had to ask some questions because we were unsure of the rules for our time session. The employees are friendly and can assist you with anything you need. I'd love to come back and paint a large coffee mug or vase for our fireplace area. This is a fun activity for sure! read more

I've always wanted to visit a Color Me Mine, and it was a pretty fun activity to do solo, with a partner, or with a group of friends! It seems like a lot of children host bday parties here. My party of 2 made a reservation for 5 PM on a Saturday evening. They require a $10 deposit when you make a reservation to ensure that you show up, and it will be deducted from the final cost. When we arrived, it didn't seem overly crowded, so you could possibly walk-in and still get a table. There are a lot of pieces to choose from with varying prices. Bigger pieces seemed to cost more money. My partner made a sake cup set that came with 6 pieces (1 sake bottle, 4 sake cups, and 1 tray) and I made a ramen bowl with chopsticks holder. Our total came out to be over $100, which is quite steep. The overall process was quite fun. Each table is equipped with some water and sponges in case you mess up and want to wipe your design off. There are paint bottles, brushes, pencils, and pens located near the entrance, with lots of variety in colors. At the front, you can grab finer brushes and paint for more fine details. There is also a hair dryer in case you need to dry a layer faster. Majority of the process is self-serve. We got our final glazed pieces the following Wednesday (~5 days). The colors came out a lot darker than I expected, so when you choose your paint colors, definitely look to see what the final color will look like after glazing (they have a tile in front of each paint bottle that shows the color after glazing) vs the color you see painted on your object. I was a bit disappointed in the glazing because it was not smooth! There were so many bumps on the final piece. While it does not affect the functionality of the piece, it's a bummer because this experience was not cheap at all. In terms of service, the night that we went to paint, the people working were really nice and helped us clean up. However, when I went to pick up the pieces, it seemed like the person helping me out was distracted with painting her turtle, so that felt a little disappointing but nothing major. read more

I've always wanted to go to Color Me Mine since I was a child and finally made the opportunity to go to this location with my family today. We were overwhelmed by the selection of the ceramics since whatever we were making today will be a display piece at home. Since it was our first time coming we weren't sure how the store operated exactly like do we pay before painting, after painting, etc. We tried asking an available employee our questions but she seemed irritated and wouldn't stop reminding us we would need to leave by 3pm. When the groups around us were preparing to leave for their 3pm group the other employees weren't as rude about us being there and were very nice. Overall, we had a lot of fun and next time we will probably think to reserve ahead or call ahead to see what their store capacity is looking like. Went here for my wife and my 9 year anniversary. The traditional gift for 9 years is pottery. So this seemed to be a fun activity in that spirit. Going in I actually thought it was more catered for kids. Surprisingly, during our time there there were several adult parties but no kids. I suppose it was a weekday though. In any case, we were greeted by someone who seemed like was the sole staff. She explained briefly how it worked and let us browse. It's more or less self service. So you pick an unadorned piece from the many shelves along the wall. We picked a couples' mugs. Then you get your own paint and brushes from a station near the front. Then find a table and get painting. Actually, you get drawing with a pencil first. Then you get painting! All in all it was a fun experience. Not sure how often I would do it. We spent probably 1.5 to 2 hours there. Might bring the kids there and see if they want to give it a go. The two mugs we ended up with came out to about $70. Which seems quite pricey, but if you factor in the whole experience I suppose it's reasonable. read more

I wanted this afternoon to be relaxing for my mother and me, but it absolutely was not. If they didn't have proper space and time for us to paint, perhaps they should have offered another day and time. Less than an hour after we sat down to paint, one of the employees told us that we needed to finish within the hour. It turns out that it was a misunderstanding, but it really doesn't feel good being watched and hurried. The store was extremely crowded, loud and the tables are not spaced far enough apart for people to pass without bumping. This was a really disappointing trip. I made a table reservation for 6 on a Saturday online for this location to celebrate my kiddos birthday. I had a difficult time finding the table reservation link until I scrolled all the way down and found it. The process to book was straightforward (date & # of people). My group arrived before I did and they were browsing what pieces they were going to do. In the meantime our table was being set up (water bowls, sponges, and white paper mat). We found our pieces and grabbed our paint colors and brushes of a table by the entrance. There's ceramic paint palette that holds several paint colors. TIP: write down the #'s you use!! It helps you grab the right shade when you go back for more. I picked my colors and got to work. I took my time painting and didn't realize 3 hours had gone by. Super relaxing and time consuming activity. Once we finished the employee gathered all our pieces and stated we would receive a call when they were ready for pickup. Our order was ready 6 days later. The studio fee for adults is $10 and $9 for kids PLUS the price of the piece you choose. There is also a 12% service charge for groups of 6 or more. It can be very $$$ after the studio fee and price of each piece per person. While paying I noticed a sign that read "Please treat our team with respect" and asked the cashier if that was a problem at that location and she sadly shook her head. It's a shame people really feel the need to act that way with employees or customers on things they need to enforce to keep their business running. The staff was helpful and attentive to our needs. They offered recommendations on paint colors and different ceramics available. Our water was changed and clean sponges were provided as requested. Masks are required indoors. They have an outdoor area if weather permits use. They have an area to reserve for birthdays etc. The bathroom is clean. My group and I had a pleasant painting experience and look forward to returning to this location. read more

Went here in April and the staff told us she will call us for pick up. Waited a whole month never a call. Then they say that they threw out our figurine because it's over 30 days. I was not told this. They showed me one text they sent which I missed at least give us another call before you throw it out every time I stop by. It was closed and they're closed on Sundays. Please train your staff better and send reminders more than once especially if it's a text. We spent over $60 for the figurine and time. Not cool read more

Came here on a weekday afternoon! It was our first time and just wanted a relaxing day, no occasion. Four of us are in our late 20s early 30s and we each found a piece we were interested in painting. They explained the process well and gave good instructions on how to get the best results. It was a comfortable and calming setting. Overall the customer service was great. They checked in on our group often to see how we were doing. Would definitely come back and recommend this location. read more

I came here for a work event with a large group and we had the whole place to ourselves. I thought the worker who was there the whole time was very polite and friendly. We ended up extending our time (paying extra for the privilege) and she rolled with it. Painting was super fun and therapeutic and I really enjoyed my experience. I'm a little confused/disappointed that the pieces from this store aren't dishwasher-safe, though...Other Color Me Mines say that fired pieces are dishwasher-safe, but this one has a sign specifically recommending not placing the items in the dishwasher. Hello, I wanted to ask about the pick up of the pottery. We recently went for a painting session in the Color Me mine Sunnyvale and were told to pick up the pottery of 8 people on August 25th 2023. When we went to pick up the package, the staff said they "Can't find it. I don't know where it is" and overall we were treated with a lot of unnecessary attitude and hostility by the staff. When asked about a potential refund in case they lose the package, we got no answers at all and none regarding when we would tentatively get it. The problem wasn't even the fact that they couldn't find the package and were extremely disorganized, it was the lack of apology to the customers from the staff. Hopefully they find the package or else we will have to file a claim to the bank and report the Sunnyvale office. Thank you! read more

We came here today for our nephew birthday. The staff were nice and professional (Litzy and Yadira). We want to say thank you to the two staffs as they were great with the kiddos and It was fun and therapeutic. My girlfriend and I had a great time. The selection of the paintbrush of not have thin brushes is why there was a star short. Overall, seems like everyone has a great time and we hope our art pieces come out nice. My children and I are frequent visitors at Color me mine for last few years. We enjoy every visit there whether it's attending a birthday or a baby shower. We also go there together create memories during Mother's Day or a special treat to my children and me. We have constant enjoyable experiences there. The wide selection of pottery pieces allow us to choose something to spark interest and build a lasting memory to store jewelry or a table wear or just a decor for my home. I could've rated this place 4 to 5 stars easily, but the people working here did not demonstrate customer service at all. I came in with my team on a Wednesday to celebrate a very special event for one of my co-workers. She was getting married in a few days and we wanted to paint her some mugs as a gift. Our reservation was from 3:30 - 5:30 pm; just enough time to pick and paint our pottery. Once we arrived, no one greeted us at the door. We stood there for a good few minutes then decided to look through all the pottery options. One of my co-workers had to walk toward the back of the store (that's where the workers were hiding most of the time) to let someone know that we arrived for our reservation. There were no signs to let customers know to walk towards the back to check in, and if there were, we didn't see it clearly. So much for a greeting. Anywho, we were seated at our table and then sat there for another few minutes, expecting one of the workers to explain how Color Me Mine works. Mind you, we were all first-timers here so were literally sitting ducks. My co-worker, AGAIN, had to get up and find one of the workers to ask them to give us an orientation. Didn't get the best introduction - the worker seemed like she wanted to quickly go through the paint area so she could hide in the back again. Other than the mediocre customer service, we had a great time bonding together while painting our mugs. Our team manager even brought in a bottle of champagne for us to drink! Color choices were great, paintbrush options were plentiful, and they had okay choices of stencils. The one thing I was extremely impressed about was the amount of pottery options we could paint. There were so many cute and useful options! I can see why this spot would be great for team outings and date nights. This is definitely a great place to relax and paint but don't expect any customer service at all. You're basically on your own. TL;DR - Customer service sucks, there's a generous amount of pottery to paint, great for date night and team outings. read more
