    Unicorn bowl

Not sure what is up with all the negative reviews because I had a wonderful experience. Went here for the first time with my homegirl and just picked up our cooked pieces. Never been to one before but it was a relaxing experience. Staff was friendly. Plenty of open tables. We went on a Sunday. Not a shock that the pottery is priced at a premium because its in a premium location, the mall LOL I expected to pay extra before I even walked in. For those that have never gone like myself, you pay a fee per person to paint. The place supplies the brushes, paint, stencils, aprons, etc. They even clean your brushes for you after. The most expensive part is your pottery selection so the fancier, the pricier! You sit, paint, chatter, then leave your art behind for a week for them to bulk bake. Then they text you when its ready to come on down to take home. My dog loved her unicorn dog bowl. Love that its right in front of 99 ranch and the food area so we can have a bite after painting! I'm so returning again!

These dots went around the entire top, yet was smooshed during firing.

$50 per person and two of our creations were touching other people's work when they put them in the oven and marred each of them. 3 hours of work and $150 messed up due to Color Me Mine staff mistakes :( Plus when we painted our items, no staff came by to help, no one checked on us, yet there was a spot a check out for suggested gratuity of $25!

We had my daughter's birthday party at Color Me Mine at Westfield Oakridge, and it was such a lovely experience! Tien, Soraya, and Anna were all amazing -- so kind, patient, and helpful with the kids. Everything went so smoothly, and the kids had the best time painting their pieces. I actually went back the next day because I realized I hadn't left enough tip -- that's how much I appreciated their amazing service! Thank you all for making my daughter's day so fun and special! Highly recommend this place for kids' parties or family time!

Cute venue that's a great activity for friends, families, or individual painters! Took my sister here to paint on a Friday afternoon around 3 pm. The place accepts reservations in 2 hour intervals or walk in appointments. They have options for large groups, open parties, or private parties. They have a wide selection from mugs, plates, animal sculptures and more! The staff member was super thorough in explaining how the place works from choosing our item to paint, the painting tools available, and how post-paint is done. Once you're done painting, it's a week turnover to get your item fully glazed and they will hold it for you up to 30 days. I decided to paint a sushi plate for myself, and it definitely healed my inner child and was a sense of nostalgia and peace. Chill vibes all over the place and would definitely come again!

This location is in Oakridge mall right across from the Ranch 99 bakery. The painting fee is $10/person and then you pay for the piece you want to paint. Most pieces are $20+ and they have a variety of things- ornaments, mugs, plates, piggy banks, figurines, etc. You grab your own supplies (paint, paintbrushes, sponges, etc) and sit at the table and paint. It's pretty peaceful and you are allowed to bring in snacks. Once you are done, it usually takes about a week to get your piece back. Fun experience for kids and adults!

Since this was a special activity for my 4 (almost 5 year old) daughter, I'm going to let this review be from her own words. First, she said she would give 12 stars... but we'll settle for the max 5 that yelp allows. (I would maybe drop a star to 4 solely based on the overall cost because it seems a bit steep for what it is.... but hey, this review is through the eyes of a 4 year old, so 5 it is) First from her mouth, "It was fun". Off to a great start so far! Because who wants to be doing something that's not fun?! Why was it fun? "Because you get to paint by yourself". I think what she means to say is that you get to paint on your own.... as opposed to having someone telling you what to do and how to do it. She also liked that there were a lot of different things to choose to paint and a lot of colors to choose from. So there you have it! 5 stars, there you have it. That's a review, straight from a 4 year old. I should also note that they said they'll hold the items for pickup for 60 days. (Double check for yourself in case that number changes.) So maybe that's part of the seemingly high cost of the activity. If everyone's taking up space for a couple months, then I guess you'd expect some sort of "rent" fee included. Especially at a mall location, space is valuable. $$$$

Color me mine paint store in San Jose,California Oakridge Mall (Saturday,May 31st,2025) Having visiting time with my children

Color me mine is a local activity store located in San Jose,California at Oakridge Westfield Shopping Center. Store is open but tables are to close together needs more space to be able to move. Aprons are provided for painters who choose to wear if like to protect paint from getting onto clothing. Plates paint brushes and color paints are provided to do your craft activity. In store pottery is available for purchase which you can pick and choose for a variety of assortments for categories selection. After color pottery is placed in oven to seal to get the final results for 7 days later. You can store pottery for decoration or use for vase flowers or eating off some pottery plates. Online reservations were made for myself and children last week but I was not inform that each child is a table sit fee which later came back on Saturday, May 31st,2025 for coloring completing our activity. My children enjoyed but got stressed out of other parent hovering over shoulder and yelling. I got stressed out since other parent of children was going to end my visit with me children making sayings that he was going to take my children away and end my visit early. After had purchase paid for my sit down table reservation. My experience was not great, and this was giving it another try. I had priorly several other times of painting in store at Color me Mine. . -Christina (5/31/2025)

Color Me Mine is located at Oakridge mall in San Jose. This is a fun place for a small group to do some ceramics painting. They have a decent selection of pieces to choose from. Paint and customize it however you like and come back in a week or so to pick up your finished piece. Pick up must be after 5pm. Not sure why, but keep this in mind when you stop by or make your reservation.

Watch out when you check out the items for painting. They put higher price for the item than the display shows.

***3.5 stars overall***…read more I took a friend to Color Me Mine for their birthday. This location was convenient but it was really small. I am glad I made a table reservation. (You put a $10 deposit on the table that ends up going towards your final bill.) Because of the long rectangular shape of the store, the staff sit in the middle of the store, so no one greets you when you walk in. Thus, we were a little confused when we entered -- not knowing if we look for our table first or look for a ceramic piece first? Or do we check in somewhere? A greeting from the staff would have solved this. Without leaving their counter, someone briefly and hurriedly explained the process and locations of everything, and left us to begin. Even though I had done this before, it was my first time at this store and it was my friend's first painting pottery ever, and we were both lost, even after her mini tutorial. (I have been to pottery painting places where they walk you to the paint area to get you started, as an example of comparison.) Thankfully I remembered things from previous experiences that the painted ceramic tiles by the paint bottles with 3 squares symbolize what the different layers would look like after firing. (This is critical knowledge that the staff should point out to each group, so we'd understand how each layer of paint looks when dried/fired because sometimes we may want to paint 3 layers of paint, but not always. It was crucial to understand how to reference these tiles!) The paints and brushes were in one corner; the sink and paper towels were around the corner in the back of the store; and there was one main shelf of unpainted pottery choices (with a range of prices, but after adding in your $10 a person sitting fee, the final cost adds up, so be sure you like the piece you choose!) We chose to paint one large piece together rather than 2 smaller pieces. To make the look more cohesive, we chose colors within a certain range (lavenders and yellows/orange), and then we didn't look at the each other's side! It was very fun. **Some Things To Note** - Your table reservation gives you 2 hours. (We finished in that time but we also didn't do a lot of detailed work. I actually think most people would need more time than that if you choose a large ceramic or are painting details.) - The tables are pretty close together, so you don't get much privacy. We all heard each other's conversations. It was also very narrow to walk between the tables when people were painting, so it may not be a place to bring active kids who can't sit still for long periods of time. - It looks like they allow outdoor food because many were bringing their own snacks. I brought in an outside drink, which I'm glad I did because it was warm and you sit there for hours. - They do have a bathroom, if anyone is wondering. - It may take a week for them to get to your ceramic piece, glaze and fire it, but we got a text that it was ready around 4 days after painting it. It is a fun experience to paint pottery, as long as you can afford it and feel comfortable approaching the counter to ask your questions because the staff doesn't seem like they go out of their way to offer help unfortunately.

After waiting for a while an associate comes out and roughly explains what the process is and disappears again- fine by me but I know a fist timer would be pretty confused. The color selection is very poor. They have a row of colors just plain colors, much less than what I've seen other places. The pottery options are also pretty lackluster and pricey for what they are. The positive part of this rating goes to the lovely associate that helped us the first time. She was lovely and kind, but my overall frustration that led me to this overall rating was picking up my pottery today. Again was not very fully and I see a line of people at the front. Cool I get it. But the associate had not a single sense of urgency in her. She just slowwwwwwly walked to the back looked around slowwwwly came back. Once it was my turn she didn't even ask why I was here just stared at me so I told her I was picking up and she asks for a picture of the item..? Wtf? Not even a name phone number or email that they require when dropping off my items but a picture? I had to scroll and find them. Once I show her she's like..ok when were you here? Geez do you want my outfit details that day too? How ridiculous. They need a better sorting system I saw her looking around and several pieces. Then she sloooowwlly comes over to me and dumps my plates on a table nearby and some crumpled bags next to it and just says "ok you can look at them" and leaves to the back again. Frustrated I get my pieces and dip. I don't know if it's because I've been to muuuuch better where they also treat me better. But this place was such a let down. Also picky side note the music they put sucks.
