My kid had an absolute blast at their birthday party! We had been a few times already as attendees and the main deciding factor for the kid was they got to sit in the big chair while everyone sings happy birthday and blow out the candles. The whole event was fabulous from start to finish. Thankfully I was able to relax for most of it and enjoy the party due to the set up and excellent staffing. The only thing we decided to do ourselves were the party favors and let pump it up handle the rest, including the very delicious cold stone creamery cake. Rhea was an expert and enthusiastic at getting everyone set up and signed. She was ready and eager to take our party favors back to the room and make sure everything was set up. It was such a relief to have a coordinator that was on the ball and ready to go with entire classroom of toddlers at full weekend energy levels. Our party attendants Emma and Reese were wonderful. They made sure the room was ready to go and checked if we wanted any changes. All the kids were directed where needed, that if we wanted anything additional they would have been well ahead of it. Everyone was served pizza, cake and beverages quickly without fuss. At the end everything was packed up and loaded for us. After a busy morning it was fun to have leftover pizza and cake for dinner without any of the headache of set up and tear down. We had contemplated trying to book a park or play area and handle everything else ourselves, this was significantly easier and worth every dollar to us. As busy working parents it was a massive time saver and a relief to hand off all the hard work of running a children's party. I don't think I could have asked for a better team on the day and if they worked in my industry I'd probably try and poach the staff. read more

It felt more personal and safe to be able to keep an eye out on everyone, as well as everyone to have fun with one another without hesitation! My only complaint was the small hallway so it was hard to navigate through/with a big crowd. I also didn't notice any restrooms inside the play rooms, either. It might be just me but I wouldn't want to inconvenience a worker to assist me "out" to guide me back in to the play area afterwards rather than going to one myself. But that's just me! Our total bill was $840, and we were told that a 12% tip should be $188.21, which is actually almost 23%!! The management didn't notify us at all about all that was going on, despite knowing about the situation 5 hours before our party would start and wanted to charge full price. This is not how to run the business with repeat customers. I understand they didn't want to lose business but not letting party hosts know about the situation was very deceiving. In each room we were told that "everything is ok in the next room". Had we known we would have cancelled the party. The staff were great, and tried to help us despite the situation. Just had a birthday party for my son today. I usually love Pump It Up, but this location was a really disappointing experience compared to other branches. The staff here were way too strict, to the point where it affected the kids' experience. We had one child with a milk allergy who couldn't eat the pizza that was provided, and we brought a small snack just for that child so they wouldn't be left out. Even after explaining the situation, the staff refused to let that one kid have their own snack and told us that if we "broke the rule," we'd be charged an extra $250. That felt completely unreasonable and insensitive. On top of that, the food they served wasn't fresh. We ordered an extra side salad and fruit, and our guests complained that the salad was rotten. We told the staff, and although they removed the charge, it still shouldn't have happened in the first place. Another thing that really surprised us was at the end of the party -- the staff were collecting every single balloon from the balloon drop so they could reuse them. The kids were disappointed because they thought they could take one home. It honestly felt like they were cutting costs everywhere while still raising fees. And honestly, for more than $1,000 for a kids' birthday party, I expected much better. Overall, we were not impressed at all and would not recommend this location. The Pump It Up in Santa Clara is much better -- the staff there are more involved, friendlier, organized, and actually make the celebration feel special. OK, this place is smart. They pump it up when it comes to energy and excitement for the kids, and they also pump it up when it comes to the number of birthday parties in a weekend. Did you know that they have birthday parties that begin at 7:30 AM?? If you are interested in scheduling a birthday party here, get ready to shell out the dough. While it's expensive, you honestly don't have to worry about anything, except for your kid potentially getting sick. Generally speaking, I was really happy with the process. A manager calls a couple days before to confirm the number of guests, as well as the food order. It is really quite efficient, and they did a fantastic job setting up all of the goodie bags that we brought in, as well as the balloon bouquet we brought in for pictures. They also did a great job with distributing the cake, and cleanup. There are a couple things I do want to point out. The people that worked at Michaela's party were kind and responsive, but did not have a ton of energy. At the same time, I understand that it was at 9:30 in the morning on a weekend. I saw a couple of the pump it up employees talking with each other, rather than taking some photos of our birthday girl. As a result, I ended up (and some other guests ended up) taking better photos than they did. It helped us with the cost so we didn't have to purchase that add-on. If your kiddo has a birthday in the winter, get ready for the possibility to cancel or pay a seriously hefty rescheduling fee. My daughter tested positive (yay Cthe day we were supposed to confirm the birthday party. I explain this to the manager and the owner, and she asked if I still wanted to continue with the party. I have some serious ethical concerns about this policy, since it seems to incentivize people to not disclose their ill illnesses, or proceed with the party even if they are sick. The owner was gracious enough to allow us to reschedule for a 9:30 AM time the week afterwards, but we had to pay a $300 fine. The funny part is that my daughter ended up testing negative the day of the original party, but we wanted to assure parents, so we took the safe route and asked about rescheduling. There is a deposit that you end up paying, which is a bit confusing, since I would think that if you pay a deposit, you wouldn't have to pay the remainder if you end up canceling the event. There doesn't seem to be any issue with finding customers, so it just feels a bit more of a nickel and dime experience than I would have liked. If your kiddo has a birthday in the summer, or a different time, when Covid and Noreau virus and the flu isn't spreading like wildfire, then you don't have to worry about that as much. read more

There were a few questions we had and the staff did everything they could to give us the best experience. However there seemed to be an issue, anytime they needed management or higher up help, they would come back clearly defeated when they couldn't accommodate our party. There was a hurricane zone for a small fee, a climbing wall, and building foam blocks. Music played in the background and there were cubbies to place shoes. First visit to a Pump It Up for GK#2's 6th Birthday Party. Sam was our Party host and he did a great job. Located in a strip mall, the facility appears clean and well maintained. The bouncy castles are in good shape without obvious wear. Like a party assembly line, the kids gathered in the lobby, where the safety rules were discussed then the kids and adults were schlepped into the first playroom with3 large bouncy castles. After about 35-40 mins the party moved to a 2nd playroom with 3 other bouncy play structure's and a balloon drop. Balloon drop proved to be popular. After a group picture, the group moved to the party room where birthday treats were served. Well organized. Employees were friendly and kind to the kids. They do all of the set up and clean up, and even help you collect all gifts in a bin and package them into a bag for you to carry all items to the car. You just have to show up and the kids are sure to have a great time! The giant inflatables provide active entertainment and are sure to tucker your kid out. After rotating through two rooms of inflatables, everyone will be ushered to a separate room to have snacks and/or cake. A staff member offered hand sanitizer to the kids as they walked in. I was very impressed with the slideshow that the team compiled using photos during the event. The staff will call you a few days ahead of the party to make sure they have all the details right. It's mostly for parties but also has some free play time where any kid can play. For $22/hour. Not pro-rated. If you're a kid, you'll probably like this place up to maybe 7 or 8. I think older kids would find it a little too limited and small. For adults this place is something to endure. The annoying music blaring and the sound of air pumps makes conversation difficult. There's nothing to do but wait for the kids to be done. Also their credit card machine is down a lot, which is annoying. It's in a big shopping center so there's plenty of parking. Wonderful place for a birthday party! I had seen not so great reviews of the Santa Clara location so I didn't even think to check out another Pump It Up when I was looking for locations I could host a party. However, we were invited to one here and it was such a great experience. Everything was very clean and loved how it was private play for the kids. There were two different rooms to play with each with a variety of play structures to jump, climb, and slide down on. The second one had a black light too which the kids found super exciting. At the end we had pizza and cake, all of which didn't feel too rushed. I realized it's because it's a 2 hr slot while some kid activity party locations squeeze it in 1.5hr which makes a big difference. My kid actually kept asking me if their party could be here too , but sadly I already booked another activity. Will definitely consider this for next year! read more

They have been wonderful hosts through every birthday party (except the pandemic). They have provided fun events at holidays, spring break and during the summer. They have Parents Night Out which includes pizza/drink! Jumping galore! Glow? maybe face paint? maybe Fun time? always!!! The floor is clean with no spill stains or litter. The inflatables are also clean and have been wiped down. When we have held parties there we have always found the staff to be attentive and to pay attention to our needs. There are people who set the birthday room up to assist you. All you do is give them the supplies. How awesome is that?! The birthday cake that you order through them or amazing and delicious ! I'm always happy I have some to take home and stick in the freezer. *****The only the I would have to say about Pump It Up is to BRING BACK the party for 5. I loved it. It really was a nice size for a party. It can get a little tiresome hunting down 10 kids (Worse when it is more) and their parents. We recently celebrated our son's 8th birthday at Pump It Up on Camden Avenue in San Jose. Our son had a great time jumping and playing with his friends in the various inflatables. We adults also had fun playing on those inflatables, especially the slides and the three balls obstacle jumps. What is great about Pump It Up is everything is done for you so the parents can relax and have time to talk to kids or adults. We had a great time and would highly recommend it as a place for kids birthday parties. I have kiddos born in the -ber months of the year, so indoor party options are essential to beating the risk of cold & rainy weather during their birthday gatherings. While this may not have been as big of a deal in the "before times," COVID (and other winter superbugs) pose another challenge to finding a location that will keep us and our guests comfy and healthy. Fortunately, Pump It Up was there to meet our party-planning needs this notoriously virus-filled season... they are an indoor inflatable playground venue offering private play parties for kids! Our birthday kiddo had gone to another small event there the previous year, and she was excited when we told her she'd get to return as the guest of honor. She turned 4 this year, and the place was perfect for her age group and those slightly older... even the supervising adults enjoyed getting to bounce around! Things I liked about the Pump It Up experience: * Easy to reserve online. About a month before, I was able to book their first slot of the day on a Sunday morning. I went with the smallest party package, which included 2 hours total, private play for up to 10 kids (just those in our party, plus any accompanying adults), a private party room for eating and celebrating, and 2 dedicated staff members to assist. * Our gathering felt as safe as we could get in these times. The facilities were very clean, they had high-grade filters running for fresh air the whole time, and we were always separated from other groups of people. * The on-site staff were kind, energetic, and helpful. Not only did they take care of decorating the party room for us (with the supplies we brought ourselves) while the kids were playing in the arenas, but they also did a great job moving us along while still bringing fun and personalized attention to our party. * Even though their website says that cake and ice cream are the only outside food you can bring (they have pizza and some other things you can order ahead of time for extra), apparently they make exceptions for their early morning appointments. I was able to confirm ahead of time over the phone that I could bring bagels and a travel carafe of coffee in for breakfast. Much appreciated, especially by the parents! A couple things I learned: * After promptly returning a voicemail they left me 2-3 weeks before the party, where we'd go over details and any questions I had, I couldn't get through to anyone or leave a voicemail (mailbox was full) for about a week, and I didn't get another call from staff in that time either. I finally got through to someone myself by continuing to call every day, and they were able to help me (that's where I asked about bringing outside breakfast, and was glad to learn they could accommodate us). * The 2-hour party only includes 70 minutes of actual playtime in the bouncy arenas, which went by QUICK. Also, 50 minutes in the private food/celebrating room was more than enough, so we actually ended up leaving a little early. More time set aside for play definitely would have been nice. I get it though, they need to move private groups through on a set schedule, and once you leave one play area you can't go back. To maximize those 70 minutes of play time, I do suggest arriving 15 minutes early (or more), since you need to go over a safety briefing and video prior to entering the playground. This is all laid out in the contract, I just didn't realize what it would be like until we got there. Most importantly, the birthday kiddo had a blast, and she loved sitting on her birthday throne during the second half of the party. It meant so much to see how special she felt that day, having winter babies whose birthdays can get easily overshadowed by the holidays (and winter illnesses ). Great facility and equipment for a safe private party. Manager of the front computer desk needs to have her attitude checked. We arrived happy to celebrate and had two cakes that needed to be refrigerated (we were previously assured the commercial-size refrigerators could accommodate two cakes). When we arrived, we were told there was no space. We said what was previously communicated to us, and her repeated response making us feel hopeless was, "There is nothing we can do." This is not the default type of response you'd expect when you're about to drop $1K on a kid party... it totally killed the mood out of the gate. Luckily a staffer was nice enough to check and was able to move things around to fit the cakes. Weeks before the party, our slot was unexpectedly shuffled around, triggering time updates to invitees. Us as the host was not aware of the change. It created a bunch of confusion as we did not know why guests were inquiring about the time change. The issue was later fixed (triggering yet another email to invitees) and explained to us they moved the wrong party. I told them I had to spend hours rectifying their mistake. Swati's (owner) response was "We were not aware of this issue since the Evite invitation website / system is managed by evite.com." In other words, they take no responsibility of the fallout triggered by their mistake. Not as big of a deal, but we had a kid clinging to the birthday kid. All of our pictures included this kid, which also created confusion at one point as people thought it was a joint birthday party (we had two cakes to accommodate everyone). We were busy socializing with other parents. I would have hoped the staff would have taken more initiative to move the kid during picture and Happy Birthday song time. In summary, the facility is great. Will still come in for random drop in play time. But if you think part of the fees you're paying is so you can be hands-off, be ready to still invest add'l man hours planning and fixing problems as they arise. read more

We hosted our daughters 4th Birthday Party at Pump it Up because we are a busy household I wanted EVERYTHING handled by the venue. I could not be more pleased! I was hesitant to book online so I called and spoke to the owner and she answered all my questions about the party planning process. She offered to book over the phone for me but I ended up booking online after our discussion. The process was so EASY, you pick a date, availability shows up and you chose your time. Once I chose the date and time it simply prompts you through all of the options for add ons and food. I chose to add on the balloon drop because I thought the kids would love it and I was pleasantly surprised they did that at the beginning of the transition into the second room so the children had the full 35 minutes to play with the balloons bringing them so much joy! The food was easy to order and finalize, the staff was amazing about calling me to finalize the food order 48 hours before the event. I was so busy with work and had not gotten back to them but they kept calling until they reached me- THANK YOU, busy mom here!! We did everything from the pizza, to appetizers (garlic bread, chicken wings, fruit and veggie platter) and even the Coldstone Ice Cream cake which was a hit! The staff not only managed the kids, they made sure everyone was playing safely, they engaged the kids and they took care of serving the kids food, drinks and cake in the party room. Incredible service, all I had to do was show up on time with my kids and pay the final bill at the end of the night...they even helped take out all the leftover food and gifts to load my car. I had my daughter's birthday party at this location. Bounce houses were decent and kids had fun, but the food was pathetic and over priced. Large pizzas were more like mediums. $40 salad was a sorry looking mix of tomatoes and spinach. Worst of all is they tried to sneak in mini samosas as the actual size samosas. $42 for mini samosas that you can buy for $6 at an Indian grocery store. To be fair, they did cancel the charges for those samosas, but only after I complained. There was no substitute available for them as their kitchen was closed. Our guests were left hungry and it was an embarrassing moment for us. If owner of this location is reading this, you ruined our occasion. It was so embarrassing to have 4 medium sized pizzas to feed 20 adults. These pizzas would have been enough if we had 32 full sized samosas. I would say 2 jumpers are catered to kids under 3 with smaller slides and am easy climb up. My 2yr old had more fun than I expected. Just a heads up for parents with kids under 3 I recommend coming when it's not too busy since the older kids will trample over over little ones. They have time blocks for open jump which is only 1 hour, wish it was longer and didn't feel rushed to play and take advantage of the hour. Aiden working the front desk was attentive and Very polite. We held a birthday party for my daughter at Pump It Up in San Jose. Our party was scheduled to start at 5:10 pm. However, we were waiting in the lobby till 5:16 pm without any staff coming. My husband had to go to one of the party rooms to look for the staff. Someone finally came out and led us to the party room. What surprised us, later on, was that after around 30 minutes, we were asked to move to the 2nd jump room. The 2nd room was uncleaned with popped balloons and water bottles from the previous group on the floor. Obviously, the staff didn't have time to sanitize it as described on their website. The jump time was supposed to be 70min but we were asked to move to the dining room in less than 60 min not even to mention that we were let in about 10 minutes late. The dining service was also terrible. All in all, I would not come back. read more

Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2018 I've been to more Pump It Up birthday parties to last me for a lifetime :) It's definitely the in place for birthday parties among the preschool and kindergarten set. This location of Pump It Up is located in the Cambrian area of San Jose in an older shopping center. Parking is ample - you won't have to worry about finding a spot. When you enter there is a small waiting room for the kids and families before you enter the party rooms. Be sure to check in at the iPad stations on your left. There is usually a large cart on wheels to hold the birthday child's presents. After the kids listen to the safety video, they sing happy birthday to the birthday child as the 'password for entrance,' into the first party space. Once you enter the kids put their shoes into the shoe cubby and head out for tons of fun on the large inflatable bounce structures. Usually you go through three different party spaces. You can do extras like: Bubbles Balloon Drop These are an additional charge. The prices are reasonable and they offer different packages. The birthday gift bags come with actually pretty neat gifts/toys that are good for their boys or girls. Be sure to bring socks or you can buy them at the front desk. The employees are friendly and helpful. Also note in some play rooms they have outlets for charging and HDMI/USB ports. This is a fun place for kids and adults alike. We hosted a birthday party here. The inflatables are quite fun, and the food was actually not bad (though overpriced). However, I'm disappointed in their scheduling and execution. We checked in 10 minutes early for our party scheduled to start at 5:10pm. Around the start time, I realized there were no employees up front anymore. I started to look for someone but nobody was anywhere to be found in public areas. We finally got someone to help us and line up the kids to go in at 5:16pm. Still, at exactly 5:45pm, they started pushing us to move on to the next room. Chatting with the employees, they explained you get 35 minutes in the first room and then move on to a second room for another 35 minutes. I complained that we started 6 minutes late here, so I hope they would provide us extra time in the next room to make up for it. Nonetheless, at 6:15pm, they announced playtime was over, and we had to move on to the food portion. We got under 60 minutes of playtime out of the promised 70 minutes. I get that they need to keep their parties moving along, but if they're going to advertise 70 minutes of playtime, they need to add buffer time between parties to accommodate that. Or state on their site that you don't actually get that much playtime. Also, the guy assisting our party said that they are suppose to take pictures and send a slideshow, but his phone battery was dead? That seems an absurd excuse. The website also says the birthday team helps "entertain kids", but nobody did any such thing. At a few other similar parties I've been to, they break up free play with some employee-led games. Some assist/play with the kids, climbing up play structures and stuff. Our guy pretty much just stood around the whole time. I think they ended up giving us a free balloon bouquet for our complaint about the time issue. In the end, my kid had fun, and that's what matters most, but the experience still left a bit of a sour taste. read more
