My kids love Jolly Roger Land! We first came here for a birthday party and returned on our own 2-3x. They love the ball pit and the trampoline area the most! The place is pretty clean but can get crowded. It's located next to Old Navy in the Oakridge mall. During weekends, it's $19 an hour per kid or $24 for two hours per kid (one parent included with a kid). We will keep coming from time to time. It's been a great way to get our kids to spend their energy when the weather is either too hot or too cold outside. read more

Don't bother getting a membership here. They clearly only care about "big spenders." Today, they let a birthday party hijack the only restroom in the building. When I complained, the staff literally bragged that the party paid $1,000, as if my membership money doesn't count. It should be noted, their website allows you to purchase a two hour block from 6pm to 8pm... not sure why that's possible, if they truly close at 7:30pm. Took my family here for my little one's birthday. I love that this is a big place with lots of things to do, enough room and activities for big kids and little kids. I can see it being overly packed on the weekends so we went on a Tuesday night. I also liked that it's also one free adult per paid child so it's not like you're paying more than $100 bucks when you actually only have one or two kids jumping around. There is a time limit of about 2 hours and I felt this was more than enough time, they were exhausted after an hour and half. I was surprised at how much stuff they have such as a trampoline pole, climbing structures, and their slides are massive, so fast and scary even for a grown adult such as myself. The place is very clean and has many different activities and sections for the kids. My main complaint when I visited was that during a busy weekend, they close off their bathroom for private parties which doesn't make sense to me because then you have to leave to use the restroom in the mall or target. I had to grab my daughter with a stinky diaper and walk all the way to another restaurant while she was thrashing her arms telling me she didn't want to leave. What a fake out. They explicitly told me they wouldn't allow her in, and the employee even made a call to what she said was the owner, but the answer was still a hard 'no,' even after I clarified she is a trained service animal. My daughter is absolutely obsessed with Jolly Roger Land!!! With her constant requests, we try to make it a habit of visiting Jolly Roger Land at least once every 3-4 weeks. This indoor play center includes a huge play structure to climb, crawl, and slide. There is a ball pit where you can juggle, enjoy a game of toss, and submerge yourself in a "swim". If all else fails, enjoy the trampoline and the limited arcade. Socks are required to enjoy the establishment. Should you need, socks are available for purchase. A waiver must be signed and an adult supervision is a must. Be advised that weekday visits are going to save you a few bucks and it will absolutely spare you from the large crowds- highly recommended if you can make it work. 4 stars overall. I took him on a weekday so it wasn't too crowded. I really appreciate the staff organizing and cleaning the place often while we were there. Definitely better than Luv 2 Play at Eastridge. It was easy to sign the waiver and pay online. You can also pay in-person if that's what you prefer. :) loved the trampolines and slides here. I've been here a few times over the past couple years- they have always only had one working bathroom. The play area is great for kids and sanitized regularly. However my last visit on Wednesday this week, I was changing my 15 month old in the one working rest room, located behind an employees only area, leading to a storage room. The changing table fell off the wall as I was changing him. Luckily I caught him before he hit the ground. It was a very traumatic experience for us both, the loud noise of the table hitting the ground shook him up for a while. The employee working called the owner while I was gathering my things to leave the restroom and he just said he would be there tomorrow to fix it- didn't ask if anyone was injured. I found this odd. It was great to come during the lunch hour on a Thursday as it was pretty empty. Usually in these types of spaces I'm afraid of my toddler getting trampled by bigger kids. There's a good sized play structure, different areas for different ages with for example smaller vs taller slides , ride on toys, a few arcade games, ball pit, a trampoline area. Can really keep a kid occupied for hours! My little one didn't want to leave. It is quite pricey though. $19 for an hour. During our visit, I raised a safety concern with a staff member about a ladder being left out and unattended multiple times while she was on her phone and walking around the facility. The ladder was being used to clean the tops of machines, and visible dust was falling into the play area sometimes on children's faces since she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings due to being on the phone. Because this is a child-focused environment, I felt this was important to point out. I had to raise the concern to the front desk multiple times before she told her co worker anything. After that interaction, the staff member cleaning approached me and stated that the facility is "not meant to be an unattended child place." I explained that I was actively supervising my child and aware of my surroundings. I also noted that in a child facility, parents, particularly those with more than one child, cannot physically watch every child at every moment, which is why overall safety practices are important. She tried to argue the machines are being cleaned for the children's safety. At one point a child climbed her unattended ladder too because she was so focused on other things. I asked to end the conversation and requested to speak with a manager. I was told the manager was not on site, and I said I would follow up at another time. Despite this, the staff member continued to follow me around the facility, asking for my name and stating she wanted to report the situation. I told her multiple times that I did not wish to provide my personal information and asked to be left alone. This occurred in front of my child. As I was leaving, I requested my receipt and the names of the staff involved. The staff member who followed me around attempted to interrupt and said I was not allowed to have that information. Overall, the interaction felt unnecessarily escalated. I am also concerned about customer privacy and how personal information is handled since she wanted my name to look me up. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as safety and respectful communication are especially important in a family-oriented setting. I have pictures I will not be posting but they show her on the phone, with cleaning supplies unattended, and dust flying. For privacy reasons and other children being in the pictures I am not posting but, will provide to management if needed. My toddler loves this place, and so do we! It's perfect for toddlers. I recommend coming on weekdays because weekends do get crowded. They have a trampoline area, a big ballpit, lots of slides and climbing, and other things for little ones to play with. In addition, they do have some coin machines and even massage chairs. I took off 1 star because they need better crowd control on weekends. They also need to clean the floors and everything better. Other than that, a must for kids. read more

Paid to get my kids into an indoor play center -- ended up with my shoes stolen. What's worse? Three staff members standing around and not one could help -- no camera check, no solution, just blank stares. So there I was, walking barefoot with two babies out of the play center. This is an awesome new indoor play space close to where we live. My 3 year old had a blast here, especially in the ball pit! We arrived when it first opened at 10 am and it still smelled bleachy/clean so they definitely clean it thoroughly, haha. There are a ton of fun activities for kids, mainly gross motor stuff, like slides/climbing areas, a trampoline/bouncing area, various bikes for kids to use, some spinning tea cup-type seats, etc. Make sure to wear socks so you don't need to purchase socks there. read more

To everyone that tries to have a birthday party or anything so-called private party as this place offers, have to say expect all these stuff: 1- Dirty broken bathroom in the middle of your event. 2- People lining up INSIDE your private room for using the bathroom since there is only 1( ONLY 1) for the whole facility and that is located in the room with 3 walls so can't even call it room it is just a corner of the facility. Anyway, it is going to be so inconvenience and annoying since your guests are going to keep getting out of the facility somewhere to release themselves the mall. I have no idea how exactly they got the permit for it which I am going to follow up with other places regarding this issue. 3- If you plan to have birthday party, try to make sure to bring every single thing you imagine because they don't even have a cake cutter so therefore I had to go to Target and get one which is next to this place. 4- They charge for additional adult but provide no seat or anything and all my guests were eating while standing. Not even enough tables! 5- Since have to remove the shoes, the same way people going into the bathroom they walk in the play area and obviously bringing all those germs into the play are. 6- No speaker or anything is available in that private room which is just corner somewhere and it is all open so everyone can see you. 7- It was so hot which all my guests were sweating and I did tell them to turn on the AC and they are like, we don't have AC but at the end the owner said yes we have it which is so dumb the way they are handling it. 8- They laterally have nothing to do with you since you are in and good luck you do everything right because there is none to help you with anything. 9- Safetry of your kids is not matter here and anyone can get in and out without you knowing so basically there is no control on that as well. NOTE: I have to say staff are nice and nothing against of them but they do whatever they were told to do which looks like there is a huge lack of communication between the owner and his staff. Finally at the end, I did talk to the owner and was expecting not to pay for all inconvenience and guess what?! he provided 10% discount which was nothing. I hate when people want to make their money in the cost of using others as their experiment and lack of thinking to make sure those stuff are not going to happen. I normally don't like to leave a negative review on a place especially when the kids had fun and enjoyed their time there. The low rating is on lack of safety and no bathroom access during a party. The kids can go out of the gate without adults and no one questioned it. Other similar places have a gate with a buzzer. We've been there where the adult only got a wrist band and not the kids. Another time, the kids got the wrist band and not the parents. So not sure if there is another use of the band other than time keeping. The cake on the icing is there's no bathroom access if they have a party in the back. The only bathroom is located in the back where they close off if there is a party. There's a sign to direct people to use the Target bathroom instead. So if you are there with multiple kids you pretty much have to find all the kids, have them put their shoes on and leave the premise. I don't think this is reasonable as a business targeted for young kids. read more

This is our second time at JRL and we were again disappointed. This location is a retrofitted storefront and you can tell it was not meant to be a children's play place (no accessible bathrooms, no stroller parking, no security at the entrance). The prices are on par with other play places, but both times we visited, they've tried to charge us full price for a baby who can't walk. $58 for two hours with a 3yo and less than 1yr old is crazy. The reason I will not be taking my kids back here is because there were only two people working in the entire place which left it dirty and unsafe. One girl was manning the phones at the front and the other girl was nowhere to be found for most of the 2hrs we were in there. There was no one checking people in and out and anyone could just come and go as they please. There was also a large spill (hopefully just water) that was left untouched in the front for at least over an hour and we tried to speak to someone about it as we were leaving, but there was only one person at the front and it was so crowded with people and strollers that it was impossible to get to her. We've been to other play places in the Bay Area and they seem to be much better organized and executed. read more

Pro: my son loved it and had a blast- that's the only thing giving JRL 1 star. Beyond that, I have serious concerns. 1. Fire and safe exit: there is no designated stroller parking. That means people park their strollers in the entrance. Today, it was actually impossible to exit the play area, grab our shoes from the cubby, and leave the center. In the event of an emergency, it would be absolute chaos and is the main reason why we will not be returning. I highly recommend putting stanchions outside for strollers to be safely stored. 2. The designated max capacity is 144. If a fire marshal entered today, I can almost guarantee they would have been shut down. 3. There seemed to only be two employees working. They cannot safely and effectively navigate checking people in, managing crowds, cleaning restrooms, handling parties, and (as seen today) picking up after a child gets sick on the play structure. The employees need more support to run more effectively. 4. The bathroom. Wow. First of all, when we arrived, the bathroom was only allowed for members of a party. That meant anyone else had to exit the play center and walk to Target to use their facilities. This is a CHILDREN'S play place. Unless you want urine all over the facility, restrooms need to be accessible. Given my child could not wait to navigate through stroller hell to exit, we attempted to use the single bathroom provided by JRL. Unfortunately, the lock is broken which poses a huge safety risk with children. On top of that, there were no booties left to put over socks so we would have had to walk into a public restroom with our socks on. No thanks. It's disappointing because we were so excited to finally have a play center close by. Unfortunately they've missed the mark in many ways. read more

My kid had a blast. Their play equipment is great. However, there were a few safety and convenience issues that made the experience lass enjoyable. 1. If they are having a birthday party, you have zero access to the bathroom. So if your little has to go NOW, you have to take them out, put their shoes on and haul them to Target to use the restroom. Hopefully you make it in time. Especially with a kid little who probably waited till the last minute to tell you because they were having so much fun. 2. The floors are not safe. The padded flooring had several areas where there were significant buckles to trip on. Some of them were like 3-4" high. Also, where the padded floor transitions to laminate in the back is SO slippery. I saw multiple kids absolutely eat it in their socks during our 2 hours there. 3. There is zero staff supervision. Zero. They sit up front at the cash registers. We never saw a single one back in the play area during our two hours. 4. All the vending machines are old school bills or coins only. They do not have a change machine. The vending machine was also pretty empty. 5. It is really warm in there My kid loved the play equipment but definitely come prepared knowing thr above things. We went there yesterday all day for my 2 kids to play, my kids have decided to come back today again and since we were there yesterday i got them just one hour ticket in the middle of their time there they changed their mind and ask to stay all day so i went to the front desk and ask to pay for the difference and switch our brazalete for the full day pass, so guess what??? THEY DID NOT ALLOW IT...! Seriously?
