It's been a year since I last did tufting! The staff walked me through the tufting process and showed me examples of how to tuft properly and efficiently. I even carried a can of Diet Coke to the session as inspiration for my mini rug. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and they helped trim and flatten the rug at the end. I also got to make a picture frame using decoden art - picking out my favorite charms and decorating the frame one by one. As you can tell, I chose food- and toy-themed charms to reflect my hobbies. It's such a great idea for date nights, birthday parties, team-building events, or family activities. Especially if you've never tried it before, it's easy to pick up and a lot of fun!

It took us some time to learn how to use the tufting guns properly and it felt like they were understaffed. It would've been nice to have more guidance throughout the process, like if we had any questions we had to wait a very long time for a staff member to be available to help. The seating for tufting is also very close together and it can get a little cramped. But as I mentioned earlier, we were very happy with our finished rugs. After we finished tufting, it took them about an hour to finish them off and we were able to take them home the same day. We also did decoden, which was fun! I was impressed by the charm collection, but it was very hard to find letter charms since they were all mixed up and scarce. Overall, the crafts turned out great, just disappointed by the service. I understand that it was a weekend evening and it wasn't the staff's fault, they were all very kind and understanding. Just understaffed! With tufting especially, having more staff available to help throughout the process if needed would make this experience much more enjoyable.

I was originally planning to buy just merchandise but I noticed how cute everything was and so I ended up decorating some items myself. I ended up having such an amazing and memorable experience even though I was overwhelmed and anxious over the whole process because the employees Annie and Becky (sorry if I misspelled) helped me out so much from start to finish. The other customers had a good/friendly enegy as well so I was able to fill up my creative and social cup from the event. I smiled or giggled a ton from people or just putting a charm in the right spot! I definitely want to come back outside of an event just because it was such a fun and relaxing experience for me that even though I went home tired I internally felt rejuvenated! Picking out charms probably took me half an hour to 45 minutes and the actual process took me an hour. I took some pictures of what I decorated and bought. I also got freebies inside the baggie (which I took pics of later on). I spent around $119 which I think was definitely worth it because I got to learn a new skill, I got good quality merchandise, I have items that is literally one of a kind, and I got to take care of my inner child that day. I am super excited for any future events and loved my experience so much that I'm already thinking about when to go next!

They let me stick around even though I hadn't signed up, so I just took pictures of the process. For the tufting session, you pick a flat image of what you want to make ahead of time. The instructor then will give advice on how to go about putting together your creation. After that, you link the image to the projector and it projects onto your canvas. You then outline the image. Then comes the fun part: the tufting tutorial. The instructor spends about thirty minutes teaching everyone how to use the tufting gun and then has each person practice on a large canvas. After that, you pick your yarn color and tuft away! Apparently, it took four hours for my friends to complete their tufted rugs, but they turned out so cute! They even stayed open past closing hours to let my friends finish. We need more artistic spaces like this.

I decided to give it a second try for my boyfriend's birthday, and this experience was WAY better. Lucy did a great job at thoroughly explaining technique and was so patient with us. We were originally scheduled for 6 hours, but she went above and beyond and let us finish up past the 11pm closing time. We made a large frame (36"x36") for $168. The estimated time was 6 hours, but it ended up taking us 7.5 hours. They have so many different yarn colors. The tufting gun did take some practice, but we were able to get the hang of it pretty quickly (good for beginners). I definitely think we got our moneys worth. It is very tiring and will likely take you longer than you expect, so I would treat this as an all-day event. The booking process worried me a little as they texted me a couple of hours after I booked saying that they might have to reschedule/cancel my appointment if another party didn't book during the same time slot. I didn't receive an update for about 2 days and was about to book with another company, but luckily I was able to move things around and book a time slot that others had also booked.

Megan gave me great advice on in-stock frames that would be suitable for what I wanted displayed. But the color she recommended wasn't in stock. I was under time pressure so she researched nearby stores that had the item. Shout out to the to the super helpful cashier in Cupertino who advised me to join the Michaels club to receive a needed (significant) coupon! Strongly recommend going to the Saratoga store & using Megan B for any professional framing!
