I was surprised to see they carry the wonderful Osea skin care products as I didn't know they were made in California. I ended up buying a ceramic spoon rest, room spray, and a tiny gold "diamond" ring. Their prices were reasonable. The store owner rang up my items and was very friendly and nice. Our last couch was purchased online and we followed reviews who had solid feedback, but no long term feedback. The couch was awesome upon first opening and using, but as the years went by the springs and cushions couldn't hold up as well. The couch has lost its shape and feels uncomfortable. This background story prompted me to seek West Elm for a better option. I know West Elm provides quality and durability. The last couch we had was a nameless brand and that red flag had me investing time in researching our next couch. West Elm's contract grade third party approval is something that I've admired and appreciate. Knowing that something can withstand high impact and volume is important especially when you have a busy life or entertain guests often. This was important to us. I've found and loved multiples of their couches online, but sitting in them in person made the biggest difference. I learned which couch was better for us (Dalton 2 piece) and the color that would fit with our room. We were helped by an associate who approached us and helped guide us in the process of choosing a fabric and material. I didn't catch his name, nor was he wearing a name tag, but he provided us swatches to feel and see before determining the final order. Him bringing out the swatches had a huge influence on our choices. He showed us a material that would withstand scratches (we have cats), and would also age well with future use down the line. Having a piece that would grow and adapt with our lifestyle meant a lot to us and the process in finding the next best couch. What I had appreciated was how attentive he was and how he helped us choose everything in store and printed out the order in case we were interested in pursuing it further. Ultimately, we ended up leaving with the order number and the specs for the couch. We decided once we had come home that that was the couch for us and we will be following up to place an order. It was a game changer trying out the couches in person since there were many lovely pieces and I would have otherwise overlooked the couch we ended up loving online. In the end, envisioning our home setting and layout was made a lot easier in store. I appreciated the stellar customer service, along with getting a quote for the sectional we're going to purchase. I was in awe at how many different plants and trees they had. The owner, Phil, was very helpful to work with. He took the time to view his upcoming deliveries to find out when he would be receiving some different calla lily options for me to choose from. I missed the window label that proudly announced it was a small, Filipina woman owned business. A shirt with Filipino words alerted me that this was a special store fostering my cultural pride. Meeting the owner, Charlene, confirmed my discovery that she started this business 3 years ago. The shop's wall adorn by handmade paintings & a mural that conveys Charlene's spirit of her shop. While small, it was captivatingly fun to explore every nook and cranny. She even showcases and supports other women entrepreneurs. I was immediately drawn to the ZZ plants. She helped me understand the symbolism of them which inspired me to buy 2 smaller ones to help a loved one through her grief and for me to inspire my continued 2025 manifestation journey. At home, I discovered a very personal message of gratitude with a picture of one of the original artwork and an affirmation card. Knowing her origination story and impact of the store, inspires me to put Charlene's store on my short list of places to find unique, soul-filled gifts.
