    Inspired by sunsets in Hawaii

I came to ArtCircle with no prior painting experience 1.5 years ago and have been coming to the weekly adult evening classes. Deepti has been an amazing teacher in helping me learn how to paint with oils. The class is freeform in that each student is painting their own thing, and Deepti comes around and spends 1:1 time with each of us to give us guidance, feedback, and help us get through any "painter's block" by helping us brainstorm and unlock our creativity. The class usually has 5-8 students, and you can typically make up a Tuesday class with an extra Thursday class, for example, if you're out of town and have to skip a week. I find it amazing to see the creativity of the students around me and the progress on their pieces week-to-week too! I'd highly recommend taking a tour of the studio if you're interested in a new creative outlet!

A New Beginning! (completed in 2020)

I started taking classes from Deepti in September 2020. I have since been going back every month due to the sheer improvement I've noticed in my artwork and potential. I was happy to discover this gem of a teacher after a lot of searching and going through different instructors. Deepti loves teaching. She loves seeing progress and inspires you to create what you feel like drawing or painting. There are no rules or restrictions to what you HAVE to work on. The class is about what you WANT to learn. You work on your ideas and in the process of working on them, she teaches you techniques and art fundamentals. In my opinion, this is a great approach. In the short time that I've been here, I've already strengthened my art foundations, for example, perspective, color theory, composition, anatomy, brushwork, and much more. Most of all I have learnt the power of observation and daily practice. When I first joined Artcircle, I was stuck and in a rut. I wanted to paint and copy what I saw from others vs painting from my own imagination. Deepti constantly pushes me to explore my ideas, to detach myself from copying, and gives me the confidence to develop my own style. It's very hard to find a teacher who does this. A teacher who focuses on you, your growth, and your individuality. Every artwork or canvas you work on is like a small project in itself. It develops through constant feedback from peers in the studio and Deepti herself. She gives her suggestions, recommendations, and critique in an unbiased manner and I have come to value this very much. It has aided my growth as an artist. My yelp review will not do justice to her teaching. Take a class for yourself and experience it. It would be beneficial to at least give it a shot for a month because it takes time to warm up. It did for me at least and I'm glad I kept going back. P.S Apart from all the learning, this class has been a lot of fun and I cannot wait every week for Tuesdays (the day I got to class).

I enrolled my 6yo daughter for a summer camp held here, and it was hands down the best art experience she had. The studio has a very hands on approach to guiding little artists. I am attaching the artwork progress in stages, to give you an idea of what went on during the week. I would highly recommend this art studio for kids who are interested in pursuing painting.

This was one of our stops on our little free adventure day…read more Gallery 9 was a gorgeous gallery space, very well situated in downtown Los Altos and had a front end artist resident along with several back area un-sold pieces from past shows by other artists. I loved several (already sold sadly) pieces from the resident artist Naomi Mindelzun and of the pieces in the back area really gravitated to the two men fishing - the artist adored the water and it absolutely came through. The reason for the four over the five for me is that many of the back section pieces felt amateurish. Many of the artists seemed newer and less honed in their skill, and it showed in what Gallery 9 portrayed. When we left the honey even commented that he was shocked by the watercolors presented, as he is currently taking a watercolor class and felt several students had produced higher quality work from that class. All in all the service was polite, if not completely hands off (what I personally look for in a gallery) and I would definitely stop by again.

I knew in advance that on Thursdays (2nd & 4th weeks only), the public street parking in front of the building was off limits for street sweeping/no parking between 7am-11am, so I got very lucky pulling up in front at 11am sharp. Nice. Easy walk. The Foster Museum was very simple, decent, positive, and relaxing environment filled with gorgeous nature views/sketches/watercolor artworks by the U.K. artist, Tony Foster. Good feeling here. Free admissions and good customer service staffs. You can just walk in or register online. There's a tiny gift area not far from the public restrooms. I signed the guestbook at the end of my walk. Good place to hang around/includes unlimited paper, paper/pencils/samples/etc. If you like to sketch and get some creative inspirations, all the nature artworks in the gallery is definitely a good place to start. Not huge, but perfectly quite and calm for art lovers. You can request for an orientation and/or tour as desired. Great first impression during first visit. It's the positive feeling I get from observing the energy and various colorful artworks. Simple and stress-free. Good value/free admissions is totally worth the 1-2 hours here. They also host art classes too, but I will need to take time to browse around online. Good vibes. Staffs are friendly inside. Hidden place. Love it.
