This was a great find. I was totally stressed about finding a place to host our daughter's 10th birthday party at a place in our budget, that held enough people, that allowed outside food and drink. Tina was beyond helpful, and accommodating. She assisted with every step and went above and beyond. Everyone had a blast, we didn't feel rushed, and we will definitely be returning in the future.

I was looking around for a team building activity for my department and found Paint'n With Friends in Downtown Gilroy. Tami and her team made our event so fun! We all painted a piece of a bigger picture and had to work together to make sure it all came together in the end. Tami put in a lot of prep work and took the time to sketch out the image for us on our individual canvases so we had some guidelines to follow. Her instruction on how to paint the various layers was perfect for our varying levels of artistic talent! It was the perfect team building event and we will definitely be back!

I have nothing but amazing review for Tami.. So warm and welcoming from her front door sign to her cupcakes and snacks and drinks for the kids. She is Amazing and took a room full of chatty 14 year Olds and in about 2 hrs had them all painting like they had been doing so for years..so nice and professional she set up everything as we discussed and delivered so much more then I had expected.. she even had an assistant to make sure everything went perfectly as it did. My daughter had the best birthday party ever and it's all because of Tami :) thx so much. U made my girl feel so special and super cool on her birthday !

This was all of our first time, and we really enjoyed it from beginning to end. We had a blast! Not only do they provide wine and snacks but you can also bring your own which we did. There were several tables with each canvas on an easel with the pattern penciled on the canvas. You get a palette of different colors and a water bowl to rinse your brush. You are offered to use additional brushes if you choose. When you're done with your masterpiece, you may add embellishments such as glitter to seashells. Kimberly was fantastic! She was very welcoming when we came in. She lead the class with lightheartedness and humor. She encouraged you to be creative. She showed us how to blend the colors to produce different hues. For some of us, we were challenged, but we did it! It was so much fun! I highly recommend checking out The Painted Cork. Thanks, Kimberly!!

Kimberly, who runs the classes, is not only incredibly kind and welcoming, but also so talented and patient. She makes everyone, no matter their experience level, feel comfortable and confident in what they're creating. I've done several classes here, including a resin art class, a resin coaster workshop, and a holiday ornament painting session. Each class has been unique, fun, and thoughtfully guided. Kimberly provides all the materials and walks you through each step, making the process easy to follow and so rewarding. The atmosphere is always relaxed, creative, and filled with great conversation. It's such a refreshing way to unwind, learn something new, and leave with a piece of art you're proud of. I'm already looking forward to coming back for another class--this space truly brings joy, and I can't recommend it enough!

If we have, it was definitely years ago LOL. It was cool that they had a small bar and drinks were a reasonable price! Our initial impression was that we were kind of anxious, considering our lack of experience, short time frame, and complexity of the painting. However, Heather (our instructor) began the session by explaining that if it's easier for us to just paint whatever we want or not paint at all, that would be fine. We weren't going to do that but having the reassurance made us feel so much more relieved! It was very easy to follow along the steps and it was actually really fun for our group! Towards the end, we did feel rushed because we were past the session and have not gotten to the last steps, but Heather was able to quickly run us through them and then when she finished, we were still free to sit for a bit to finish up the painting. The experience was very enjoyable for my first time here and even though my painting wasn't the best, I would definitely come back!

When we signed up we…read morepicked a project we wanted to work on, along with any personalization eg. family name etc. They had two instructors for 6 of us which was impressive and showed they really care about their customers and making sure they have help with their projects. You start off with grabbing an apron and listen to the instructions. First, you need to sand the wood for your project. Depending on which project you pick will determine the amount of sanding that will need to be done. We then had the opportunity to antique/distress our project. This is optional but make sure you use the earplugs as it can get a little loud for three minutes while everyone hammers. Next, you stain your piece. What's great is there are a lot of finished projects displayed to help you pick which finish and or look you're going for. We then had the option to add a special finish on top of the stain to give it a more distressed look. Then we were provided our stencil. The stencil is created by the owner using the information you placed when booking the event. For example if you wanted to put the Miller Family, a stencil is provided with that name. With your table partner and some help from the instructors you place your stencil on your project. Then you go to the paint wall and decide what colors you want for your piece. Last but not least, you remove hour stencil, allow it to dry a bit from the fan and finish it by adding some wax on it. Overall this was a great event to do with my daughter, but also can be great for friends and family get together, team bonding events, or just a fun project to do and not make a mess at home. Important things to know: Monterey traffic can be unpredictable so make sure you give yourself enough time to arrive at least 15 minutes early. Arriving late may cause you to miss one of the steps. They serve alcohol so this is 21 and up only. Drinks are not included and cost extra. Even with the apron, it can get a little messy. Try to wear things you don't mind getting something on. Try not to wear sleeves unless you can roll them up. I highly recommend Board and Brush and can't wait to come back and do another project.
