As a horse person myself, trusting someone else to teach my child was a little scary. But our daughter wanted more than just riding lessons at home--she wanted to be part of a real barn community, make friends, and spend time around horses. Bar SZ Ranch has given her exactly that and so much more. The Borland family is incredibly welcoming and makes everyone feel like part of the family. Michelle is an amazing instructor--kind, patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable. She meets each child where they are and helps them grow in both confidence and horsemanship. At just 8 years old, our daughter attended the week-long Wrangler Camp and says it was the best week of her life. Watching her riding skills improve each week has been wonderful, but what means the most to us is seeing how excited she is to go to the barn and how much she truly feels like she belongs there. If you're looking for a place where kids can learn to ride in a fun, safe, and supportive environment while becoming part of an amazing horse community, I can't recommend Bar SZ Ranch enough. We are so thankful we found this special place.

FYI... no showers, and there are portapotties. But the camping on the ranch is limited to a small number, so it was quiet and peaceful. The ranch is only 15 minutes from the West Entrance to the National Park. We did several long hikes and covered many different trails. If you are going to Pinnacles there are showers and restrooms there that you can use. Our kids also got the experience of feeding all the animals and a great horseback riding lesson. Tim and Michelle were wonderful. We would recommend them and the ranch to everyone.

Miss Brandi miss Rocio miss Jamie and miss Shannon were my son's teacher and that was 14 years ago and they were a big part of the reason why we chose our daughter to attend children's court. There is a lovely covered arena, a big round pen, mini trails, tons of turnouts, exceptional quality hay even my draft cross kept weight on. There is a picnic area and even a kids playground. This barn is both kid and dog friendly which is incredibly rare these days. They have jumps and barrels and sometimes in barn events. They are constantly improving and keeping things in tip top shape. There are comfy lounges and every thing is always tidy and neat. The owner Karla is a truly good human who is dedicated, professional and at the same time down to earth and kind. If you are looking for a place for your horse and there is an opening snatch it up quickly because this place is heavenly.

I was fortunate that Pam answered my call, in person, after making several calls, trying to find a…read morehorse farm to take my friend to. My dear friend is 94, and a real horse lover. Her background is a trainer of both horses and Chesapeake labs. Due to an accident, she is unable to walk now and has a wheelchair , and doesn't get out doors like she used to. When Pam answered the phone, I told her that I wanted to bring my friend to see some horses. Pam loved the idea, and encourage me to come and said she could bring the horse to where we parked. We did go. She had my friend brush the horse, feed the horse a treat and we toured the property to see more horses. When we arrived we were met by Pam and her staff, Mary and Simone. They brought out Tucker, a beautiful horse, and they all conversed in "horse jargon." My friend was delighted. Next we were able to tour the property, to see the other horses, and see more of the farm. It was a beautiful hot day and one none of us will forget. Having Seven Oaks Farm to share with my friend, was an unexpected spontaneous adventure that will not be forgotten by any of us.
