However, Heather (our instructor) began the session by explaining that if it's easier for us to just paint whatever we want or not paint at all, that would be fine. We weren't going to do that but having the reassurance made us feel so much more relieved! It was very easy to follow along the steps and it was actually really fun for our group! Towards the end, we did feel rushed because we were past the session and have not gotten to the last steps, but Heather was able to quickly run us through them and then when she finished, we were still free to sit for a bit to finish up the painting. The experience was very enjoyable for my first time here and even though my painting wasn't the best, I would definitely come back!

The painting experience was okay, our instructor was soft spoken so it was hard to hear from the other side of the room. Being on the other side of the room also made it harder to see what the instructor was painting. At some points the instructor would stop giving instruction and would just be focused on her painting so we had to just use our own picture reference. She was still sweet and came to check in a few times. Towards the end she came and helped us clean up our pictures or give us some pointers.

There were several tables with each canvas on an easel with the pattern penciled on the canvas. You get a palette of different colors and a water bowl to rinse your brush. You are offered to use additional brushes if you choose. When you're done with your masterpiece, you may add embellishments such as glitter to seashells. Kimberly was fantastic! She was very welcoming when we came in. She lead the class with lightheartedness and humor. She encouraged you to be creative. She showed us how to blend the colors to produce different hues. The setup was pretty great to accommodate our group size very easily. We got instructions about the steps to make our bowl and a demo, but I along with others definitely found it hard to keep up. We needed a lot of individual help. I wish there was an assistant who could walk around and help us too. The studio glazed and painted the bowls to a color we liked. They looked great! I only wish we were able to be more hands on in the process and perhaps make two items as the process is quite hard if you're new and it would have been fun to take another stab at it.
