Jenny was FANTASTIC at my 7 year olds art painting party! She was great with communication well in advance and we figured out the perfect theme (gumball machine) that would be appealing to the group of 14 boys/girls that ranged in age from 5-10 - some had never done a canvas before. She was engaging and enthusiastic with the whole group and all the kids were able to keep up with the pace and she encouraged the creativity in each one of them along the way! She took care of bringing all the supplies and setting things up so all the parents were able to relax and talk while she was in charge of the kids! It was SO much fun for all the kids and their masterpieces turned out perfect!

The school offers a supportive and inspiring environment for artists of all levels, and the classes are well-structured to help you grow. Andrew is an understanding and encouraging teacher, and the lessons not only helped me improve as an artist but also reignited my joy in creating. After just a few sessions, I decided to sign up for Open Studio, which I am currently attending. I would highly recommend the Art School of SF Bay and Andrew to anyone looking to develop their skills and passion for art.

Class was in the form of an hour of interactive lecture, followed by an hour of painting, except for the last two (of six) classes, which were focused on creating and finishing a complete painting, with some assistance and guidance from Maria, who was both encouraging and helpful. I will definitely be doing more paintings on my own in the near future!

He came home excitedly telling me all about his day and the projects he made. I loved that they made the experience feel special--providing lunch, visiting places like California Pizza Kitchen and the Hello Kitty Cafe, walking around nearby stores, and incorporating creative projects along the way. At pickup, I even got to "buy" one of my sons sweet art pieces from his little $5 sale. So cute! The only challenge for us is logistics: the drive is about 35 minutes with traffic, and Valley Fair parking can be difficult, making for a long commute day. Because of that, we will probably save it for school holidays rather than use it regularly. But it is absolutely a high-quality camp, and I would love to return for another art class in the future.

I had a rare weekday off with one of my daughters. I asked her what she wanted to do, and she said…read morethat she wanted to go somewhere with me and make art together. I was stumped. Aside from Petroglyph and Tutugether--neither of which was the least bit appealing--I couldn't come up with anything. I looked online for a while, and then suggested that we just go and wander around Valley Fair for a while before picking her sister up. I happened to park at Monroe St, and we took the elevator up, the escalator down, and TADA! We were magically standing right in front of this place! We had the most delightfully incredible time making little lands together. She's sweetly said that she wanted to make Mal from The Descendants, and the staff helped her with this. See the final products! We did this in about 1.5 hours.

I love it because I can go in anytime during the member hours to practice throwing. It's brand new and it is really clean, organized, and overall well maintained - something that you don't find often in pottery studios. The ambiance is very calming which is perfect for throwing in my opinion! There's lots of natural sunlight, airy, and beautiful plants. Basics: -23 wheels (12 member only) -16 glazes -multiple clay options (including b mix, speckled buff, porcelain) -2 kilns -member shelving 18"x 36"x12" Aside from membership, they also offer classes for beginners, intermediate, and hand building. It looks like they will be hosting a few workshops for specialty techniques which will be super cool! I am definitely signing up for those. Highly recommend you come try out Common Clay! I've tried different studios in the Bay Area and I would say this is my personal favorite. I appreciate how much the studio puts into maintaining a nice environment for their members and students. The staff are always really friendly and willing to help you find whatever you need answers to. I think I've found my permanent home studio

Art Hub Academy is extremely professional and accommodating. I registered my child for the Matiz…read moreclass online on July 21 (a Friday). Though there was a schedule that listed Matiz class 9:45 am to 10:45 am on Saturdays, there was no information regarding start and end date, so I was under the impression it was on a rolling admission, or that I would receive an email with directions. I did not receive an email with instructions, thus I emailed Art Hub Academy asking whether or not I should show up the next day (Saturday) for the class. Jose Luis emailed me back and let me know that all classes start at the beginning of the month, however he was super accommodating and allowed my son to come in the next day, all due to MY confusion! I apologized for the inconvenience and thanked him for his flexibility and for being so thoughtful. We showed up to the class the next morning, and Ms. Vivian was there. I am extremely impressed with how patient she is. She provided an all inclusive classroom environment that made my son feel comfortable. So much so, that he asked if I could leave because all of the other parents were not present. Usually he does not like to be alone in new environments until he warms up, but he wanted to be alone within 10 minutes of the class! The children were already working on a clay project from the week prior, and Ms. Vivian accommodated all of the children. I watched her navigate the class professionally with an enthusiastic attitude and friendly demeanor. She was well organized and made sure to give every child attention, as well as one-on-one attention. She explained tasks well to the children, and encouraged the children to socialize. She was gentle yet firm in her teaching approach. I got the vibe that Ms. Vivian loves what she does and it truly shows through her actions. When the class was over, I walked back in to pick my child up. I asked her how my child did. It went well, he enjoyed it all while having fun and learning art concepts. I was surprised at how attentive she proved to be. In addition to telling me how the class went, she picked up on things that I was already aware of, but did not expect others to pick up on during a one hour class. For example, she picked up on the fact that my son needs a lot of hands-on instruction and repetition. She even went as far as to ask how she could better help my son. Words can not explain how good Ms. Vivian's attention to detail made me feel as a parent. I am truly appreciative of the professional and patient demeanor exhibited by this facility. I am really happy with the choice I made to bring my child here. My son would not stop talking about how fun the class was, and walking me through the process of "wiring" for his clay model. It has only been one class and I can see the impact that this establishment has made on my child's self-confidence. The developmental gains that my son (and I'm sure other children) are making from this establishment are substantial. Thank you for the love and confidence that you pour into our children, Art Hub Academy!
