I was hesitant at first since I'd seen how disinterested my daughter was during her daily zoom meetings with her TK class for the last few months of the school year. I was surprised to see how engaged and excited she was during her first week at camp. She was able to do the camp without me being by her side, which is something I worried from my past experience on her zoom meetings. She occasionally asked for help finding her materials which took a couple mins out of my time. She enjoyed it so much we decided to sign her up for the second week, Explore Hawaii. For this camp she did need help yesterday, building her volcano, and today, making the volcano explode. The teacher emailed us before hand to let us know they would need our help for about 15-20 mins with the time. It was fun to see her reaction during the explosion of the volcano. We all enjoyed it. I highly recommend Camp Captivate. The teachers are super engaging, lots of arts and crafts to keep them busy and the content is age appropriate. I am amazed that my 5 year old is able to do this virtual camp without me being at her side.

We have been attending different camps here all summer and every camp has been incredible. My daughter loved every week from baking camp to art to ice skating. Seeing her ice skating today brought tears to my eyes. The owner Ms Anamika is a sweetheart and she knows the names of the kids personally. She is always at the gate to welcome the kids in the morning and see them off in the afternoon. I had certain special requests to help me and she accommodated very sweetly. We cannot wait to be back! We are so far very happy with our choice! One of the standout experiences was the comprehensive planning session with her counselor, Mr. Cheng, back in 8th grade. They mapped out a four-year plan for academics and extracurriculars tailored to her interests, which gave us a clear roadmap and a lot of confidence. The academic programs are rigorous, as expected, but what we've been most impressed by is the supportive environment. Our daughter feels challenged but not overwhelmed. She joined the cross-country team and, as a freshman, was able to represent the school in the HS league. The athletic programs are in a growth phase, which we see as a huge plus. It gives students a real opportunity to make an impact, be part of a close-knit team, and help shape the program's future. Beyond sports, the competitive clubs are a major strength. The robotics club, in particular, has fantastic mentors and provides an incredible amount of hands-on experience for the students. It's great to see her so engaged and learning so much. I found this hidden gem last year during the shutdown, and it truly helped improve my mindset during the pandemic. I am glad they have kept this Park District separate from Cupertino, as it allows neighborhood control to be maintained, and they do that well.
