My daughter LOVES Cirque San Jose Circus Camp! She's been going for two summers now, and every time she comes home, she's glowing with joy, excitement, and new tricks to show off (especially on the aerial silks -- her favorite!). She says being up in the air makes her feel like a superhero. As a parent, I couldn't be happier. Cheryl, the owner, is like the ringmaster of kindness -- she and the staff are so loving and supportive. They treat every kid like family. You can tell they really care. It's a joy to watch her thrive and learn new skills and see the amazing things her body is capable of. She went back in 2019, and now again six years later and both times I came home with a more confident girl. My 11 year old daughter had an amazing experience with Cirque San Jose summer camp! She initially registered for one week only and went with 2 friends. By the end of the week she was begging me to return. This was high praise indeed from a girl who has never really found her passion and is usually bored with camps after a few days. She wound up attending a total of 4 weeks and can't wait to go again in the future. Cheryl and her staff work hard to make all the kids feel welcome and accepted. A huge shout out to Tyler, who went out of his way to help my autistic son feel comfortable before joining the group on the first day. All the instructors were former students and were great with the kids. They had the campers walking on globes and swinging from silk ropes on the very first day. At the end of the 1 week camp, campers were able to show off their skills to parents at pick up. At the end of the 2 week camp, campers and instructors put on a fabulous performance. This is our first at this camp and my son had a rough first day which was just due to nerves. Cheryl was super thoughtful and concerned asking me what he needed to be more at ease and to make sure someone hadn't inadvertently hurt his feeling. Our second week is coming to an end and he is loving it and having a blast. Cheryl and her staff has been so kind and made sure to inform me of his progress. Cheryl and her loving and skilled staff are PHENOMENAL! My daughters (11 yrs and 8 yrs old) and my littler nieces spent one week at Cirque San Jose summer camp. Every day they said "Circus camp is SO FUN!" and could not stop talking about what they learned. Even better they kept practicing in the living room and in our yard. In this digital age, I struggle with finding physically active things to do for my kids and limiting screen time. This fit the bill. The ratio of teacher to student is 1 to 4, so students get good individualized attention. Many of the teachers are children of former students. Now that it's over, my girls miss it so much. We will be back again next year, hope to make it an annual tradition. 5+ stars! read more

My son is going to circus class for two years now. it's one of the hidden gems, not too many people know about this amazing class. Cheryl and her helpers teach the kids (from age 5 onwards) lots of things - cartwheels and amazing acrobatic skills, playing with balls, jumping on balls, silk. lots of flexibility and core. it's fun. My son is waiting eagerly for the class every week. Cheryl and the team are very professional and work individually with each kid, even if he has no experience. I also signed him up for the summer for the camp there. payment is on a monthly basis. she has classes Tue-Thur based on the level. we're looking forward to the camp this year! read more

My daughter had a one-week summer camp this year and she loved every minute of it! Cheryl is very energetic and upbeat, charismatic and lovely; the presentation was very well organized and a pleasure to watch. The whole team if very professional and one can tell they really love what they do... they do it with their hearts! I would give 0 stars. The staff does not allow fun, and I would not recommend this for children who are looking to enjoy their time. The staff is boring and yells at children if they don't like what they are doing. I think it's Allison who likes to yell. They focus on the children who are 'talented' and the last part of class after lunch is a waste of time. Learned a bit there, but very boring class. Their student instructors think they are the boss of everyone, which makes them come off as snobby and rude. Would not recommend 5000%. read more

Our daughter has loved this experience - terrific (and careful) instructors, wonderful and warm director, and much fun and adventure to be had. My daughter is an "aerialist" (her passion is the silks, trapeze, etc.) but has loved also learning acrobatics, juggling, dance, trampoline, etc. and everything that comes with being a part of a circus. Each camp session ends with a delightful performance; it is so wonderful to see the students to proud of what they have accomplished. The circus is especially welcoming to the non-traditional kid - these kids can pursue their passions and experiment without conforming to any particular model or ideal. one of the worst experiences of my life. the teachers only pay attention to the advanced children and it was very boring. doing the summer camp made it even worse and the teachers are very mean. would not recommend for children who want to have fun over the summer. this wasn't just a bad experience for me a lot of people sid they hated it as well. all these people are lying to you. don't go here. would give it zero stars but i can't publish the review without giving it the one star it doesn't deserve. terrible terrible place. read more
