We have had a truly wonderful experience with this daycare, led by the director, Perl. Our daughter is three years old, and since we moved from New York one year and six months ago, the environment and system here initially felt a bit unfamiliar to us. However, it didn't take long for us to realize how warm, professional, and thoughtfully run this daycare really is. At first, we did have a small concern that the number of children seemed a bit high compared to the number of teachers. However, during our meeting, the staff clearly explained that the daycare strictly follows California's teacher-to-child ratio regulations. After spending some time here and observing how experienced and capable the teachers are, we quickly felt reassured. It became clear that the team knows exactly how to manage and guide the children in a calm and structured way. One thing that really stands out is Perl's leadership. She is very hands-on and actively involved. She organizes events and is often outside observing the children while they play. If she notices any inappropriate behavior, she steps in immediately and gently corrects it in a calm, professional, and patient manner. As a parent, it is incredibly reassuring to see someone guiding the children so thoughtfully. Another detail we truly appreciate is that the director's office is intentionally located along the drop-off and pick-up walkway. Because of this, we frequently see Perl or the assistant director, Marissa, when dropping off or picking up our child. We can easily say hello, have friendly conversations, and talk about how our child is doing. At some daycares, if you ask the director about your child, they might just tell you to ask the classroom teacher. Here, that's not the case. They are approachable, engaged, and genuinely interested in the children and their families. As parents, we can sometimes be picky or have many questions about our child's experience. What we really appreciate is that the staff here always listen patiently and respectfully. They never dismiss concerns and always take the time to communicate thoughtfully with parents. That kind of openness and respect makes a huge difference and builds a lot of trust. Perl has extensive experience and shows a great deal of respect and empathy toward each family. She understands that every family has different backgrounds and situations, and she approaches each child with patience and care. Under Perl's leadership, the teachers are incredibly kind and caring with the children. Each teacher has their own style, which we really appreciate. Some are firm when needed, while still being warm and sweet with the kids. I was especially impressed when I read one teacher's profile card explaining her philosophy that every child has a different personality and should therefore be guided in different ways. That level of thoughtfulness really stood out to me. Other many teachers also show a very genuine love for the children and treats them almost like their own. The outdoor play area is also fantastic. In the afternoon, it naturally gets shaded, which helps the kids stay comfortable even during warmer days. The staff are also very attentive to the weather and will bring the children indoors when it gets too hot. The daycare also does a wonderful job celebrating diversity. There are many family participation events, such as St. Patrick's Day celebrations, that reflect different cultures and backgrounds. In addition, the children participate in daily educational activities that support their development. You can really see the experience and thoughtful structure behind their curriculum. In addition, the daycare offers extra activity classes such as dancing, soccer, and baseball. These are wonderful programs that give the children opportunities to stay active, explore different interests, and simply have fun while learning new skills. They also offer a monthly "Parent Night" on Friday evenings. For a small additional fee, they care for the kids until around 10 PM, giving parents a little breathing room. The kids enjoy movie nights and fun group activities organized by the teachers, and our daughter always comes home excited after these evenings. We feel very lucky to have found this daycare. If we have a second child, we would absolutely choose to bring them here again without hesitation. My husband and I are so impressed with Action Day Pruneridge. Our shy 2-year-old goes there part-time and it's the perfect fit. The staff is wonderful. All the teachers--not just our daughter's--are so gentle and caring. It means so much that they all greet her by name and even come out of their rooms to say goodbye. The facilities are clean, and we love how much time the kids get to spend in the big outdoor play area. All the kids seem happy and well cared for. The administration is also top-notch. When we had a paperwork issue initially, the director went above and beyond for over a month to get it resolved, providing regular updates along the way (thank you Ms. Pearl!) Action Day Preschool Pruneridge is family to me! I recently enrolled my son for the last few months and I have seen drastic changes. He is independent, expanded his vocabulary, is able to listen to teachers and follow instructions, understands how to play with others, learn STEM and sensory activities, is able to go to the bathroom all by himself, and many more. Ms Pearl and the all teachers are great at caring for my son. They notice the details and give us suggestions and how to help improve his skills as well as way to support him at school. They send daily reports, make note of his nap times, note his food/snack consumptions, and send photos of their activities for the day. Action Day Pruneridge holds a special place in our family's heart. From day one, we were warmly welcomed by the adminstration: Ms. Pearl (director) and Ms. Abby. They were kind, attentive, and somehow knew exactly which questions matter most, especially for a dad visits solo and forgets the wife's concerning questions. Our daughter's teachers, Ms. Amanda and Mr. Dahn, have been amazing. They've helped her grow academically and socially, with just the right mix of learning, emotional development, and joyful play. She has enjoyed looking forward t0 each school day, which says everything. The school itself is warm, clean, and feels more like a little community than a preschool. All the teachers from other classrooms greet my daughter by name, and the playground is a dream with tons of shade, updated play structures, and a giant sandpit that's basically a mini treasure island. No joke -- this incredible school, its curriculum and especially its staff have played an essential role in our daughters growth. Ms. Pearl, the director, is the heart of the campus. She is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and it's obvious how much she genuinely loves the children. Our daughter was in room 4, Pre-K class with Ms. Amanda and Mr. Danh, and they were a phenomenal team. From creative arts & crafts to engaging STEM activities, they made everyday fun and educational. They had circle time every day where they read books, sing songs, dance and engage in discussions based on monthly themes. The school also offers dance classes at their on campus dance studio (my daughter loved dance class!) and optional sports activities you can sign up for which is a bonus for working parents. We especially appreciated the daily updates and photos -- they gave us peace of mind and helped us stay connected with our daughter's day. Our daughter is naturally very shy, and thanks to the nurturing environment at Pruneridge, we watched her blossom into a much more social and confident child. We LOVE that! What also stood out is how every single staff member was attentive and caring, even those who weren't in her classroom. We moved up to Santa Clara from Los Angeles and our biggest concern was finding the right fit for our 4 yr old son. We toured 4 other preschools in the area and Action Day - specifically the Pruneridge location was the best fit. It is a small enough setting that our son didn't feel overwhelmed but big enough to have lots of play area and activities. The teachers are really wonderful - our son is often found wanting to make cards for them. This school is truly wonderful. When we arrive at school, the teachers greet my son with big smiles and loud voices. The teachers are wonderful, and my son loves his classes at school. He talks a lot about school at home and wants to go to school on weekends. Students can register for dance and sports classes if they wish. My son took sports classes, and he was able to gain a variety of experiences by trying different sports every month. They respond promptly to questions and are flexible in addressing concerns. Classroom activities are shared through activity reports, photos, and videos, which is very reassuring. My son is about to graduate, but he still says he wants to see the teachers again! I have had two kids go to action day. My first child attended from 2019-2021 and my second went from 2022 and will be graduating to TK at the end of the month. Our kids grew up at Action Day pruneridge and the staff are like family. They helped us through milestones like potty training and surviving the pandemic. They taught our kids seasons, numbers, and months in a year. It was a safe and loving place for our children to grow up with very flexible hours that made it supportive of our jobs that involve long hours and a long commute. The front office staff got to know us and greeted us each day with warmth and connection (Ms. Abby, Ms. Pearl, and the past director Ms. Sarah). The first day I visited the school, I already felt that this is "the" school for my daughter. Outstanding experience! I'd like to start by saying that the staff here are all absolutely phenomenal, caring, and supportive. When I brought my daughter for her first day, she was so excited. But on day 2 she developed anxiety about not being at home and being in a new environment. Miss Vicky and Miss Sarah were so incredibly supportive and provided so much care, love and attention to my daughter. They have lots of experience helping children adjust into a new setting when kids have grown accustomed to staying at home and are now in a new environment. All of the other teachers are also just amazing. Miss Archana & Miss Barbara - if I could give a 10 start rating I would. It was clear after every pick up that my daughter trusted them and felt safe and had a great time/experience in every day she spent in the classroom as she would give a hug to her teachers every day leaving. I want to address to the comments that some parents have made about the teacher turnover - and I'd like to remind parents that this is a preschool and not an environment where I personally would expect someone to spend 10 years in their career. I didn't see a high turnover rate in the time that my daughter was there, but there are some teachers who might need to move on for certain reasons and wonderful new teachers who join. Excellent care and education for young kids! I was fortunate to have found a spot for my 4.5 year old son for backup care. Although we spent just over 3 days at the center the experience was class apart. Ms Vicky and Ms Sarah were very helpful in the ensuring we were prepared in terms of paperwork. Ms Nisa was just amazing for the 4 year old class. At the end of each day we would get a report of what my son did, I knew he had eaten his food and he was well rested and he made artwork in school. LOVE this place! I have twin 3-year-old girls and at the time of enrollment they were just 2. I was a little concerned about enrolling one of my girls - not concerned for her, more so for the teacher! She was, let's say...spirited. The teacher in the youngest room, Rosario, was Heaven sent! She's some kind of Baby Whisperer...and I'm not kidding. The previous preschool we had our daughter at said she was too disruptive during nap time and we would have to come pick her up. We get her to Action Day and no problem sleeping at all! I'm sure some of that is a lack of ability at the previous preschool but a lot of her change in behavior directly relates to Action Day and their excellent teachers. The girls love it so much and we barely get a backward glance when we drop them off. The playground is rather large and there's a separate enclosed playground for the littlest kids. I would absolutely recommend this particular location to anyone in need! read more

We took our 2 year old daughter and have been very happy with this Preschool. We had visited at least 15 other places, and Action Day Pruneridge ended at the top of the list on all areas except the cost side where it is a little on the high side. This is a nice and safe place. Peace of mind with such a young child who barely says some words. Miss Rosario is an excellent teacher and she speaks English and Spanish. The director Sarah and the staff were also great, taking good care of the kids. Our daughter enjoined each day, and came back home talking about her teacher, class mates, and singing new songs. Kids take part of many nice activities (painting, etc) and they get proud of what they do. They offer discounts for several employers in Bay Area, and allow credit card payment. read more

Our daughter is 2 years old now and we've had her part-time in Action Day Pruneridge for more than a year. We are completely happy with the care she's getting there. In fact, we have increased the number of days that our daughter goes to Action Day. She looks forward to going! Our daughter is in room 2, which is for the youngest children. And her teacher is Miss Rosario. We can't say enough good things about Miss Rosario. She clearly loves the children and takes very good care of them. She engages them each day with art projects, reading, and lots of play time. The rest of the teachers and staff are also wonderful -- Sarah, Wendy, Rosanna, Lilya, etc. Our daughter loves them all! We especially appreciate the fact that this is a small Action Day facility. We feel our daughter gets lots of focused attention. And her daily surroundings are more contained, which is perfect for a very young child. And the play area for room 2 is very nice and mostly in the shade, which is great for sunny days (you don't have to worry about sunscreen). read more

The teacher turnover rate is high. My close friends saw three times of change of teachers for one room in four months. And they felt lucky that they choose another room. My neighbor found both teachers had gone just after their kid changed to another room. Teachers are borrowed from one room to another. My neighbor saw child cried again after a few months probably because of frequent new faces. By the way children are "borrowed" too. If one room is too crowded, they send some children to another room. And it is dirty. I have met several moms complaining it. They do wash hands frequently. I saw kids having running nose but big kids seems ok, at least people I know do not complain about too much sickness. The space is crowded. Rooms are not independent. When parents come to activities, the outdoor space is filled with people. I do see some kids smiling and participating. read more

It is a small school providing a safe and loving environment for young kids. The staff gets to know each child and their parents. The administration is friendly and very flexible. The school is very open and accessible to parents. A typical school day includes circle time, writing/art in addition to a good deal of in-door and out-door free play. The yard, for outdoor play, is large and well shaded. Action Day was a good fit for us due to its play focus, diverse student population and a semi-structured exploration based curriculum. While the level of instruction is age appropriate, parents seeking a greater emphasis on academics and exposure to topics traditionally covered in later years may not find this a good fit. Our oldest boy attended here from 3 until 5 1/2, and even though he was only here 4 mornings a week has thrived in his kindergarten program. It is clear that they were able to prepare him well for both the academic and social challenges of kindergarten. Our youngest son attends there now (he's nearly 4) and has been for about a year. With both of our sons, the team at Action Day has been instrumental in preparing them for their next academic and social milestones. It is clear that the director and her staff are enthusiastic about working with children and work to create a positive and caring learning environment for all of the kids. Over the past few years I have seen the staff handle situations ranging from distraught and inconsolable children (including my own for those first few drop-offs!) to limit testing behaviors to conflict resolution with compassion and professionalism. There is ample opportunity to communicate with the staff regarding any concerns or questions and they gave periodic feedback about each of our son's intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development. My now 8 year old daughter went here until she started Kindergarten and my now 4 year old son went here until about a month ago. Some of the teachers changed during that time but the administration had remained the same. I am giving them 5 stars because the staff and teachers are so great, I have never had a problem with any of them and communication has always been great. We are really enjoying our experience at Action Day Pruneridge! From our first visit to the campus we were really impressed with both the indoor and outdoor spaces, kid focused staff , and diversity of programs offered. We feel our kids are safe, well cared for, learning, and enjoying their days at school. This has been the best school for my son - he started here at 2 years old and has absolutely loved it. When we contacted them and they made it very easy to come tour the school. They let our son play around on the playground while we asked our questions, and made us feel very welcome. What stands out most to me is how the staff here really feels like a team. They all pitch in and teachers who are in different classrooms don't hesitate to help your child or change a diaper etc.... I have noticed that the key staff members, who I will mention later, have been at the is school for some time already. This is hard to find and makes such a huge difference! They all truly seem to work together and take pride in what they do. The two ladies in the front office, Sarah and Vicky, are consistently cheerful with all the kids and parents coming in and out of their work area throughout the day. I don't know how they do it but they are always smiling with the kids and make them feel special as they come in and leave. It is amazing how organized they keep things with all of the chaos kids can bring:) Miss Rosario in the "baby room" has been the best - she takes control and gets the kids on a routine and they all seem to respect her right away - it's pretty amazing. She is a great person and really starts the kids off on the right foot. Immediately my son was coming home telling me about the school rules - it was great. In the potty training room they are incredibly helpful and patient. I was always intimidated by this when checking out schools, but Action Day made all the difference in the world when we were training my son. He was fairly quick at catching on to the potty training and I give all the credit to Action Day. They were so encouraging and understanding and I really felt like they were on our side and working with us. Miss Wendy in room 1 is so invested and attentive with the kids. I notice she remembers detailed stories about each child and shares them with the parents which to me is so special to hear, and I can tell it makes my son feel proud to hear his teacher talking about him:). My son is now coming home with new numbers and letters every day that he has learned in room 1 and can write his name on his own! Miss Kathryn, also in room 1, has been a lifesaver. She quickly gets the kids to want to join in with the class activities instead of clinging to mommy at drop off time which is a miracle! My son always tells me about the games and songs that Miss Kathryn teaches them at school. I am already confident that we will have an easy transition to the next room because the teachers there (Miss Kelly and a different Miss Wendy) have already been so hands on with my son since he started there. He already knows them well enough and will be comfortable. All of the staff is so creative with the arts and crafts and they keep the curriculum so fun - especially during their summer camp! They do a great job of having the kids visit each classroom periodically so they are comfortable when they "graduate" up to the next room. They give detailed reports to the parents at the end of the day which is so nice to have. I am continuously amazed at how they get all the kids to take naps! It seems like magic - and I am so grateful! They have periodic outside play time which I love. They have organized sports you can sign up for through the school which has made it very easy to make friends with the other families. Nothing but positive things to say about this school - it's a great place and I know I will be happy having our 2nd start here soon! read more

Great school. The teachers & admin. staff are very welcoming. My son started on the 25th & has never been to school before & felt right at home. Him being happy & wanting to go to school have made the transition seamless. We made a great choice. read more

My daughter has been attending this daycare for almost a yr and she loves it! Overall, the care is good and I feel like my child is well-cared for. On a more minor note, my husband and I have noticed that the director and some of her colleagues aren't always dressed appropriately for the job. Ive seen short skirts above the knees, low cut tops, loosely buttoned tops, lots of cleavage.... Two months after I pulled my daughter out of this preschool, I realized what a big mistake I did by keeping here there for 11 months. I was carried away by all the great yelp reviews that this place has(like many other moms). 1. Teacher attrition rate is too high. After my daughter joined, Miss. Wendy from room 4,Miss Cherry and Miss. Mellissa from Room 3 (potty training room),Miss. Emory from room 3 who was there for 2 months only, left. Miss. Wendy (the only great teacher in the entire school) from Room 1 left. I was waiting for my daughter to move to Room 1 and kept waiting instead of pulling her out. I heard that Miss. Rozario from Room 2 also left now. 2. Room 2 never had a second teacher for the entire duration. They say child to teacher ratio is 6:1 for Room 2. But with only 1 teacher, only 6 kids get to sit in that class. At ~10am every day, children in excess of 6 are moved to potty training room (not to potty train, just because they don't have another teacher in Room 2 ever). In that potty training room, ratio is 8:1 and again, after the two teachers cherry, Mellissa left, that room always had only one teacher. So, there is always a substitute in the other teacher's place. Again, before even calling that substitute they first see if they can send that kids to the next room (I think the next room ratio is 12:1, I am not sure). Basically, this place relies on kids getting sick and not showing up. So, they don't need to hire full time teachers and run the show with substitutes (that too only part time). When kids take a nap, some substitute teachers leave. I hope I am able to explain how Miss. Sarah tries to save the money!! 3. This place is a germ factory. Everything here is so unclean.I saw so many times kids keeping toys in mouth and the teacher would just shout from a corner saying, put it down. Next kids comes and keeps in mouth. Eek. I saw Miss. Lisa and Miss. Emory cleaning Room 3 very hard one day, which is very unusual. Because they don't clean at all.. They said, "We have open house this Saturday. So, Sarah wants it very clean. It is so messy, it is taking forever to clean now!!" Imagine!! That's the state of the school. Only for open house, they clean properly. You should see that toilet between Room 3 and Room 4 in the afternoon. After being used so much whole day, many times it looks like public toilet. My daughter used to get stomach flu so often. 4. In the 11 months that she is there, my daughter got a lot of diseases. List includes croup, hfmd, herpangina, Impetigo, yeast infection, adenovirus (she had high fevers touching 105 for 9 days), ear infections due to never ending colds. She got viral fever and common cold many many times.She developed wheezing after she had tons of colds and she developed reactive airway disease(they don't call it asthma in kids) in the month of august. Miss. Sarah won't even ask you what happened even if your child goes to school after a week's gap. Because as I mentioned above, she relies on kids getting sick so she can manage with less teachers. 5. One instance I want to mention out of many. One day I saw a kid really sick while I was dropping my daughter. Rozario said "Yes. She is very unwell, coughing badly, not able to play, very tired and weak. I informed her mom. Mom is busy and still is sending her to school". It was on Monday. Tuesday I didn't see the kid in school and asked Rozario. She said " She got pneumonia diagnosis and just started antibiotics. Her mom told me when she was dropping her older kid in school". The kid was home for 2 days and then back in school (with pneumonia) and was still coughing. I told Sarah that she can't allow kids when they are sick.Her reply was so rude. She said, I reply on parents to know what is best for their kids and if you are worried about your kid getting sick, you can take her out of the school. I used to pay for full time but send my dd only from 10am to 2:30 for the first five months that she was there. After spending all that effort, I couldn't just pull her out for the fear that she might take a long time to adjust. This is the biggest mistake I have done. My dd is going to a new place from 7 weeks. She got adjusted to the new place just in a day and has been free from sickness. Doctors who said, she could be having asthma (as I had childhood asthma), said her lungs were badly inflamed due to multiple sickness and she is doing great now.My daughter last attended the school on aug 29th(paid full month fee for September in advance).My husband told them a week after that that we are pulling her out and requested them to refund 15days fee (notice period is 15 days). Vicky initially agreed. So, we didn't send her to school at all the whole month. They refunded $484 only of the $1504 we paid for the month.I know lot of moms are unhappy but sending due to commitments.Many pulled out the kids.I hope people write reviews to improve the state of kids thereand new moms don't go through what we went through. read more
