We have considered moving out of Sunnyvale to be closer to our workplaces, but each time we go back to not wanting our son to change schools and wanting to be close to Little Sunshine if we have a second child. Here are my favorite things about LSHD: Loving and supportive environment - Cecilia, Yuri, Mari and Ana love and care for our son as if he was part of their own family. I was sad and nervous to leave my baby when my maternity leave ended, and knowing he was in a loving environment that was as close to being loved on at home was one of the only consolations. The team provides our son with homemade, delicious meals that he eats each day, despite barely eating anything we make at home. When he was a baby, they diligently followed our feeding requests and warmed breast milk brought from home and worked on introducing solids. Our son is very spirited and at times has had challenges sharing, taking turns, shouting etc. and they have worked with him on these skills with the utmost patience and support for his individual development. Cleanliness - Cecilia's home is incredibly clean and filled with colorful, engaging toys. I don't want to jinx it, but our son has also avoided any major illnesses commonly picked up at daycare and has not been sick constantly which we were very afraid of when starting child care. He also comes home clean every day, but on the weekends we probably go through two -three outfits a day! Not sure how they do it. Knowledgable - As other reviewers have stated, Cecilia is so empathetic and encouraging for first time parents. She will work through any concerns you may have for your child while carefully listening and offering gentle advice and reassurance. The staff has had over a decade of experience with so many children so it is invaluable to hear their perspective on any concerns you may have. Play based learning - I was not someone who was looking for an academic environment for my very young child and instead valued a loving and caring space for him to play and naturally learn. Our son has exceeded all my expectations for what he could know before the age of two. He can count and say his colors in English and Spanish, has learned about days of the week and the calendar, and can recognize individual letters and the sounds they make. Reliable and open communication - I think in 1.5 years there has been one single day of unplanned closure due to a power outage. They share their vacation schedule well in advance so you can appropriately plan. They share photos and text updates that make my day while at work. I highly recommend Little Sunshine Daycare for anyone looking for a safe, reliable, loving, nurturing and clean home environment for your child. Cecilia is truly passionate about early childhood education and care and I feel so lucky she provides this service to our community.

Ms Cici is a prompt communicator and gives us regular updates. As first-time parents, I can honestly say that they've been true partners every step of the way. We'd highly recommend Little Sunshine to anyone considering!

The level of love, joy, and care that all of the caregivers provided was beyond outstanding. We had to relocate from the Bay Area and were incredibly sad to leave. Our daughter was well fed, felt deeply loved, and built so much confidence in their care. I never had to worry about what she was doing during the day because I knew she was in incredible hands. She even became a bilingual baby, speaking Spanish alongside English at home. Not to mention, I learned so much from them as a parent; from patience and gentle reinforcement techniques to learning how to style my daughter's hair in such beautiful ways. At her new school, our daughter kept saying the names of all her caregivers and friends, talking about how much she missed them for months. Honestly, as a parent, hearing that was really hard to stomach, but it truly showed the lasting impact they left on her. They are an incredible group of women who are hard to forget and will forever be part of our village. Leaving this review with lots of love in my heart; the same love that they showed my daughter (and the parents) for the entirety of her time there.

I'm genuinely sad we're leaving and will miss them so much. I can't wait until our younger son to go there too.

On the tour Giovanna was so warm and welcoming, our son felt comfortable with her and the space so much quicker than he usually does in new places. The transition was hard for us though which is typical, he would cry at drop-off the first week but Giovanna would send so many pictures and updates throughout the day. She was so patient and understanding of all our concerns. After the transition period ended, he would ask to go to "school" in the mornings and would rush in the door without even saying goodbye. He was always happy at pickup time too when we'd see the children laughing and playing together outside. All the teachers were so kind and loving towards him. I was also so impressed by how much he was learning! Becuase of the mixed age group, he learned so much from the older children that I didn't even think he was capable of at his young age! we are so eternally grateful for his time at the Rising Stars and all the love and hard work the teachers put in. We only left because we moved out of state, but otherwise we would've kept him there until school age.

After five wonderful years, it's hard to put into words just how much this place has meant to our family. The daycare truly felt like a family to us. Johana and her team are incredible--they have a unique way of keeping the kids happy, creating an environment where they learn to be kind, respectful, and well-behaved, also progressing quickly in letters, numbers, words. We never had to worry about anything; they took care of everything, from providing nutritious meals to organizing fun parties, including unforgettable birthday celebrations and even the beautiful graduation ceremony.
