My wife and I renovated our family room and needed a 65 inch mounted, move a 46 inch from the family room to our kitchen and move the 40 inch in the kitchen to a bedroom. Mike was knowledgeable, personable and professional, he was very helpful with ideas. He mounted the 65 inch in a perfect spot with no wires visible. He removed the 40 inch that was mounted over the fireplace in our kitchen and installed it in the guest bedroom, again with no wires visible and then he mounted the 46 inch over the fireplace in the kitchen. The job was completed in about 3 hours and cleaned up like he was never here. I highly recommend Mike and Petraglia Services to anyone remodeling their home. TL;DR: extremely unprofessional and incompetent. Trust the negative reviews. Do not hire. I hired Mike to remove an old mount and install a Mantelmount MM700. He was quick to call me, send me an estimate and it made me believe he knew the mount. We scheduled the install and he showed up alone. During the install: - he installed the new mount upside down on the wall. He had to remove it and remount, leaving two extra holes on the wall that he tried to hide with the wall cover clips that come with the mount - he installed an optional swivel kit without asking, so the TV now swivels only in one direction - removing the old mount created a hole that was patched up poorly - the TV was not mounted level - the handle of the mount was not secured - I had to purchase a separate adapter for the soundbar. He said he'd come back to finish the job when the adapter would come in. Unfortunately, I did not realize the problems with the install before I sent him a payment. I then reached out to ask to patch the extra holes he created on the wall because of the mount flip and to remove the optional swivel plate he installed without asking. I asked if he could do it when he was supposed to come back to finish to install the soundbar. He agreed. The adapter for the soundbar came in and I sent him texts to schedule the install. Like other reviews pointed out, this is when the ghosting started. So I was left with a botched wall patch up, holes on the wall because an incompetent install, a TV that can swivel only in one direction and a soundbar adapter to install. I sent a chargeback for part of the payment on Venmo because of these issues and lack of response on his end. As quick as he was to ghost, he was also quick to call right after the chargeback. He lied about responding to my messages and threatened to beat me up. Do not work with this guy if you expect someone competent and reliable. read more

Mike is fast, professional, and fair on price. He was able to complete the mounting of my 86 inch TV, then was kind enough on the way out to ask if I needed help throwing the huge box and was happy to put in his truck and bring to the dump for no extra charge.. Can't recommend him enough. read more

After years of hiring numerous contractors for my businesses, my experience with Mike has been by and far the worst I've ever had. Mike's level of professionalism and respect for other people's time is the utmost lowest of any business owner I've ever encountered. I would highly recommend finding another professional to work with. I contacted Mike based on what looked like positive web reviews for his service in installing lighting in my commercial space. He came by, took a look at the lights, assured me he'd be able to fix everything, and set up a time to come by the following week. The following week he never showed up, not answering phone calls or texts, until finally he texted me saying he had a family emergency, and we rescheduled. This happened AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN, each time with 'me setting aside time to meet with him, Mike never showing up and not bothering to call or text, and then responding that night or the next day with another bad excuse. Last week I set up what was supposed to be the 4th rescheduled appointment SIX WEEKS after the initial appointment, and he not only didn't show up again, but didn't return any phone calls or messages. I still have not heard from him as of now. read more

I used their service for mounting multiple TVs. Each of them was unique in how we wanted it mounted. Mike was extremely professional and undertook the work in an efficient manner. The TVs look great and all the wiring and ancillary work was extremely neat. I was extremely happy with the work and would highly recommend them. read more

I called Petraglia Service when I got stuck due to Comcast refusing to come in to set up due to the pandemic. I figured might as well have TV's mounted and done by a professional. I called Petraglia Service left a message with in 15 minutes I received a call back, Michael said I can come by today and look at what you need. He gave me some great ideas with different price points. Emailed me a quote and the next day was there as promised. Very happy with the outcome. Highly recommend Petrigala Service. read more

I wish I had seen the handful of reviews on google about being "ghosted" before I wasted my time with Petraglia services. If you have limited free time or an important deadline, please learn from my experience: I was looking to have an outlet installed behind my wall-mounted television to avoid visible wires, and I was hoping to have it done during one of my rare days off. When I called and spoke with Mike, he gave me a reasonable pricing estimate and said that he should have availability on the day in question, later the same week. He told me to text him my information to proceed with scheduling. Several days went by, and Mike was minimally responsive, sending occasional short, noncommittal texts but never confirming a date and time. When I straight-out said that it was okay if he was not available but I would want to look elsewhere for service, he finally responded that the date would work but again failed to respond with a time or time range when asked. After several days of this frustrating and unprofessional scheduling process, Mike proposed a 1-hour time range which I agreed to, and then I never heard from him again. I spent my day off waiting around and Petraglia services never showed up. They never called or sent any messages for cancellation, nor did they responded to any of my messages or phone calls. My day off came and went, and not only did Petraglia fail to do the job they agreed to do, but they completely wasted my time and essentially prevented me from booking someone more reliable for the same time period. If you value your time, please look elsewhere for service. If you do decide to pursue Petraglia and are not getting upfront and prompt scheduling confirmation, please do not show them the patience I did. They are an unreliable company and cannot be trusted with your time. read more

He came to my home gave me a competitive estimate. On the day we scheduled for he sent me a message saying that there was a death in his family and he couldn't come and hoped we could reschedule then I reached out to him again to set a date for work to be done. I read some bad reviews so I asked for referrals he said yes to providing them but he said he needed to check with to be sure he could give out their information. I had a feeling some thing was up. On the day we had scheduled I texted him to see if he was still coming as planned he never texted back and never showed up. Lame! I think it's really interesting too bc on here he either gets five stars or gets that he's absolute shit. Which is it? Make up your mind bro. Mike does incredible work. I had him come by to mount 3 TVs. All 3 came out perfect. I would recommend him to anyone for any handyman service without a doubt. Mike stopped what he was doing to help me carry and move various items throughout the house. It was a huge help. read more

Recently moved to the area. We needed our tv mounted in the apartment, and a quick search revealed these guys. Reviews seemed high, so I went with it. Called me back within an hour, set up an appointment the next day. It was supposed to be a mount over the fireplace and he completely butchered it, hit some sort of pipe when he was drilling and halted the install. Told me up and down he had insurance, hasn't returned the property owners phone calls once since it happened. Beware, the few bad reviews on this business are VERY ACCURATE. Shop around before you choose to avoid these types of people. read more

THE BEST!!! I wish I could give Mike more than 5 stars because the quality of his work, his level of professionalism, and knowledge of his craft is bar none the best I've ever come across in Boston. Mike and his team have helped me with a few projects in my condo, but most recently with some electrical work on an outlet that had tripped and caused my dishwasher and refrigerator to stop working. I called Mike first thing in the morning-- he was able to come to my unit that same morning -- and resolve the problem in less than an hour. I would trust Mike with any project in my condo. His craftsmanship is meticulous and you can tell by the way he works that he wants what is best for the customer. From the precision of the work, to his overall cleanliness and respect of my space, I wouldn't have anyone else do work in my home if it was something Mike and his team could take care of for me. If you want hardworking, honest, ethical, and flawless work done in your home, there is no one better than Mike and Petraglia Services. read more

Mike got back to me within an hour of me reaching out. He was able to schedule me in on a sunday do to my work schedule. Came in and went straight to work on a light fixture that was pulling out from the ceiling. Despite my limited electrical knowledge he explained to me what was going on and how he was going to fix it. Took all of a half hour and do to this he didn't even charge me the full amount. Highly recommend Mike for his professionalism, efficiency and interpersonal skills. read more

Mike is awesome! He mounted our 55 inch TV perfectly, hid all the cables, set up our digital antenna, drilled 3 guitar mounts to our walls and mounted our chandelier. When we were missing a part for our chandelier, he went to Home Depot picked it up himself, came back and finished the job. Prices were totally reasonable for the quality and service. He is a super chill dude and extremely professional. Highly, highly recommended!! read more

DIDN'T SHOW UP for 3 appointments and couldn't keep his word. If you are looking for APOLOGIES and WASTE OF YOUR TIME, get service here. Maybe for the last appointment he is intentionally setting up fake appointments, who knows? Check the phone number above. After you are convinced that this is the guy who had 4+ stars, read the chat messages attached. If I could give negative stars I will. I've been always trying to accommodate to his needs, but there just wasn't an end to his apologies and not showing up AT ALL for the appointments. I have scheduled my first appointment on Friday two weeks ago, the guy told me that he has a truck accident, OK! I understand everyone has his/her bad days. He told me that Wednesday would be a good time. I still wanted the job to be done on Friday, so I politely asked him if it is still possible. I waited 4 hours on that day before I left, and he didn't respond me with a single message. Throughout the weekend two weeks ago, I tried to text him and keep him updated with what my apartments looked like, and tried to confirm with him whether he is available to do the job or not. He never responded. On Wednesday, he did not show up again. I was very angry and told him I would change to another electrician if he still does not respond (of course I should've changed back then). It was such a mistake to trust him again because he send me a whole long message of apologies and said he can do it today. So now here I am, 8 am in the morning, called him 7 times, NO RESPONSE. read more

Hired their services for 2 tv mounts and some loft decor. I had called up another local service and they seemed like they didnt have a clue. So I gave Petraglia Sevices a call. Mike was great. I have more future loft projects and will be calling them again for sure. These are your guys. Forget the Geek Squad and others. Very happy I made the right choice. read more

Mounted my television. Did a good job. Fast and fair.

I WOULD not recommend hiring Michael. He installed a TV in our brand new condo. Missed the stud and hit the sprinkler system. Caused THOUSAND of Dollars of damage to my unit and to the units below. To make make matters worse he told us he has insurance but WILL NOT return any of our calls. Would you want him in your hime read more

I had a horrible experience with Petraglia services. Mike was referred to me from a friend of my family. Mike came by and I had him install two TVs with two wall mounts. He seemed nice enough and I liked the way the TVs looked. He didn't have the right equipment to install a sound bar so he said he would come back. I had no problem with that. FOUR missed appointments later and my sound bar is still not installed. Three out of the four missed appointments he just completely blew me off. He had an excuse each time I called him. I should have known Mike could not be trusted when he said if I paid him in cash he would give me a discount. I asked for an invoice but he "forgot it in his car and would email me asap". Never received my invoice. And the only discount I received was on his service. I definitely overpaid for what I received. On top of everything else we know a bunch of the same people and Mike still treated me this way. I can only imagine how he would treat someone he didn't have a connection with. Obviously I would NEVER recommend his services!! There are plenty of other honest, hard working people in this industry that should be called instead of Mike at Petraglia Services. read more

Mike completely blew off our appointment at 10am. He no-showed and didn't answer any of our calls placed throughout the day. We also couldn't leave a voicemail for him because his voicemail box is full. So frustrating, since we took the morning off to meet with him. I'm confused about where the good reviews on here are coming from, but I highly suggest that you spend your money on a more reliable service. read more

Echoing other people's reviews that this guy does not show up when scheduled and seems to have an awful lot of "emergencies". He did an estimate in a timely manner and seemed legit. However, we then waited hours and hours for this guy but he never called or showed up. The first time he had an emergency and the second time just didn't call, come, or reschedule. Give me a break. Be a professional adult and show up when you are supposed to. Do not disrespect other people's time because your time is not more valuable than others. Why even bother to do an estimate if you never do the actual job? It makes no sense, and it's just rude and shady. read more

My worst experience ever with a contractor. I hired Mike for a very simple upgrade of an electrical outlet from 2 prong to 3 prong. After I paid him I discovered the work was improperly done, leaving me with an unsafe and ungrounded outlet. He promised to fix it, but never showed up again. He then promised a refund but never sent it despite repeated requests. read more

Had a very bad experience with this service. Made an appointment with Mike to replace a dishwasher ten days earlier and called him to confirm 2 days before the appointment date. He did not show up or call to reschedule. Tried to call him several times on that day, but he placed a block on his phone so as not to reach him. Tried him from another phone number and he responded! So nothing was wrong with his phone. He just has no respect for his word or appointments. Totally unreliable. Do not use him unless you do not mind the same happening to you. read more

If you have time to waste calling someone who will never come, call Mike. We made an appointment a week and a half out. And not even the courtesy of any response ever. read more

Most of these high reviews must be from friends of his or something. I moved into a recently gentrified area of East Boston and needed a new tv mounted quickly. I believe I saw them recommended from an advertisement on Facebook so I said what the hell and went with it. The guys he brought with him seemed like they were either detoxing or still on drugs, very sketchy feel to them but I figured they wouldn't be long. Took a few hours to do a simple mount and I flat out did not feel safe with having them in my apartment by themselves so I had to stick around to keep an eye on them. Needless to say I ran a background check before I would write a review and sure enough two of the guys he had with him had drug priors, the owner gave off that vibe as well. Free advice, ALWAYS run background checks before you allow anyone, especially this particular handyman service into your home. I would not recommend, go with a reputable handyman service, even if it costs more. read more

Mike hung our 50" TV on our living room wall and hid the wires in the wall. He added a floating shelf where he put the cable box. My wife and I could not have been happier. The entire experience was professional. Mike explained the options to me, did all work expertly, and fit the job around our not so flexible schedules. All that was left for me to do was the tiniest amount of touch up paint. Mike's price was for the job more than reasonable. read more

I had a wonderful experience dealing with Petraglia Services. From the beginning, Mike was willing to work with me to customize what I needed. He came for a consult, assessed the situation, helped me find the components I needed at reasonable prices, and set up the installation for the following week. He communicated with me every step of the way and was very flexible when I needed to change the installation date. On the day of the installation, Mike came with another person and they had all of the components hooked up and ready to go in no time. Mike even offered to come back, at no charge, to help rewire the components when we finally get a shelving unit for everything! Mike took a lot of time explaining everything to me and made sure I was comfortable with all of the features of my system before he left. I enjoyed working with him and would highly recommend Petraglia Services to anyone with a job large or small! read more

The power went out in our bedroom. We called two electricians from Angie's list to come and help us. Both of them said that they would call us back but we never heard from either of them after our initial phone call. He arrived when he said he would and quickly found out what was causing our problem. he had jobs scheduled on the following day but came on Saturday and fixed the problem. We found him to be extremely knowledgable, competent and personable. I would recommend him and I would definitely call him again. read more

I contacted Mike to hang a chandelier and two other flush mount fixtures in my condo, after another electrician canceled last minute on me. From the first call Mike was responsive and down to earth. Obviously, I was concerned about having another appointment canceled but Mike was true to his word and came exactly when he said he would and did a fabulous job. I found him to be very reasonably priced and just basically a nice guy. I explained to Mike what my concerns were with potential ceiling/visual repairs needed so that everything looked perfect when the old lights were removed and smaller new ones installed, and he could not have done any better!! He ran out in the middle of hanging my chandelier to grab paint needed to fix the ceiling! I would absolutely recommend Mike to a friend.
