He worked with us to understand the design aesthetic we were looking to achieve, and helped us choose wood and finishes which would most effectively complement the design. Once the design was chosen and the construction began (off site at Richard's workshop), Richard was excellent at keeping us updated as to how the project was proceeding and what our timetable was looking like. When it came time for installation (about a week), all of the components arrived and were put expertly (and neatly so) into place. I called today and asked if there had been a pricing error and Greg informed me there had been no error. I told him I thought the nearly 6X cost compared to Lowe's was a steep charge to support a local enterprise like the Coop and he sharply responded that I should shop at Lowes. Well if that overcharging rate persists and is similar across the line of products sold there, one should not be surprised to learn the Coop is shutting down glass sales and other items are surely to follow. My starting assumption was that the project was so challenging (floor to ceiling cabinetry with no room for error, complex multi-level large island) that some glitches were certain. There were none. Zero. Color me blown away. Some comments: -I am a hands-on obsessive and we worked great together on the design process. We did extensive work deciding on the right wood, the right color. Great process, terrific results. -I thought that the cost was very reasonable and I would argue, strongly, that you would do better here than the high-end Euro kitchen places (Newbury St. etc.). I felt that Kenyon beat them on both quality and price with the bonus of getting a custom design instead of being limited to manufacturer configurations. -you can visit them to see their shop, it's all computer driven machinery.
