I saw that Elios had good reviews on Yelp so gave them a call to get an informed opinion. Matt is a master electrician who works as a team with Rachel who returned my call to set up an appointment the next day. She gave me a two hour window, but said that would be narrowed as they worked and she would keep me informed. Sure enough she texted approximate arrival time about an hour beforehand and then again when they were two minutes away. Matt went right to work and was very knowledgeable and informative about the knob and tube issue. While he was looking at the electrical panel he also identified some minor problems and quickly fixed them. I have had a difficult time finding a good electrician, but I think my search is over. Thank you Matt and Rachel for keeping me informed and being super competent and communicative.

With all jobs, Dan provided us with a quote in advance that was comparable to competitors and in many cases, his estimates were lower. As for the work itself, Dan was very respectful of our home, cleaned up each day, and he did everything we asked assuring that we were satisfied and the work passed inspection. We will definitely continue to use Dan as we will have additional electrical projects in our newest property. Dan has tackled typical projects such as installing new outlets and switches to more complex projects such as removing knob and tube wiring and working with other contractors on a new bathroom installation. We have complete confidence that he will be able to handle anything thrown his way.

His work was extremely clean, he made very few drywall cuts, those that he did make he patched before he left so that all i had to do was a couple of paint touch ups and you can't tell there were any cuts in the wall. I was extremely impressed that he got all of this done in a day, and I have since recommended him to two friends in Charlestown. I am having some more work done on my house soon, and will need additional electrical work done, Dan will be my first call!

I called Morrissey Electric on the strong recommendation of a colleague who had previously hired…read moreJim Morrissey to rewire his entire home and who swore by Jim's work. He had said something to me along the lines of, "Jim may not give you the lowest quote of all of the electricians you contact, but he's honest and takes the time to be truly meticulous, and that's exactly what you want." Jim's quote actually wasn't as high as that suggestion implied, and now that the work is done I'm actually feeling like I got a bargain. The issue that prompted me to call was a progressively bad flickering and dimming lights issue that the utility had investigated twice and on both occasions told me could only be originating in the house's wiring. Jim responded immediately to my call, and came out to investigate quickly. After he looked over the breaker boxes and meter, tightened things up, and tested voltages, he wasn't convinced of the utility's assertions and pointed out some visible issues with the street line that I as a homeowner would never have known could be problematic. Still, our service line and breaker boxes were quite old and couldn't be fully ruled out as potential causes, plus we had a handful of other projects in the house that we wished to do, so we engaged Jim to replace the service and do those other tasks. Throughout the project, Jim and his colleague Leo were entirely professional. They were extraordinarily helpful and clear in both written and in-person discussions, they did a meticulous installation and painstakingly chased down mystery circuits to label the box perfectly (something we never had with the prior boxes), and ultimately they worked with us and the utility to prove that the flickering issue was, in fact, originating at the transformer on the street. I'd hire Jim again in an instant.

TL;DR: extremely unprofessional and incompetent. Trust the negative reviews. Do not hire…read more I hired Mike to remove an old mount and install a Mantelmount MM700. He was quick to call me, send me an estimate and it made me believe he knew the mount. We scheduled the install and he showed up alone. During the install: - he installed the new mount upside down on the wall. He had to remove it and remount, leaving two extra holes on the wall that he tried to hide with the wall cover clips that come with the mount - he installed an optional swivel kit without asking, so the TV now swivels only in one direction - removing the old mount created a hole that was patched up poorly - the TV was not mounted level - the handle of the mount was not secured - I had to purchase a separate adapter for the soundbar. He said he'd come back to finish the job when the adapter would come in. Unfortunately, I did not realize the problems with the install before I sent him a payment. I then reached out to ask to patch the extra holes he created on the wall because of the mount flip and to remove the optional swivel plate he installed without asking. I asked if he could do it when he was supposed to come back to finish to install the soundbar. He agreed. The adapter for the soundbar came in and I sent him texts to schedule the install. Like other reviews pointed out, this is when the ghosting started. So I was left with a botched wall patch up, holes on the wall because an incompetent install, a TV that can swivel only in one direction and a soundbar adapter to install. I sent a chargeback for part of the payment on Venmo because of these issues and lack of response on his end. As quick as he was to ghost, he was also quick to call right after the chargeback. He lied about responding to my messages and threatened to beat me up. Do not work with this guy if you expect someone competent and reliable.
