Baked Alaska Flambe at tableside
Andy W.

First time at Petite Violette. Building outside is pretty shabby. Interior also unimpressivdecision. table clothes to upgards the ambiance so keeping it dark is a good decosion. Definitely could use an interior update. On the other hand, food was quite good from the rolls, salads, entrees, and desserts. Beef Wellington was out of this world cooked to a perfect medium rare, it just melted in your mouth. Grilled Salmon was good but not anything to brag about. The sides of asparagus, mashed potatoes, green beans, and rice were decent but again, nothing special to brag about. Presentation was a bit disappointing for such an upscale type restaurant. Service was good but lacked warmth and friendliness. Definitely worth going to for the Beef Wellington and Baked Alaska. Would love to try their Chicken Cordon Bleu sometime. 3 Stars due to aged interior. Food is a 4-4.5 star!

Came for a private event and was looking forward to French food. It offers only valet parking. The space is big. Vibes mostly casual. Not upscale. The age of the place shows. The staff are attentive. And I loved my trout. The salad was too over dressed and the apple tart was just completely miserable and forgettable. Not sure it still fits French, portions were huge. American sized. Overall average. Nothing bad but unlikely I will visit again as nothing was memorable.

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner at Petite Violette. This restaurant has been serving up delicious French cuisine in Atlanta for over 50 years and I can't believe this is my first time here. Upon entering the venue, we were greeted with a smile and I was given a rose! Very nice touch! They went all out with the decor as well. The price fix menu was amazing. We feasted on the steak tartare, lobster bisque, salad, lamb chops and ohhh the lobster tails!!! We ended our meal with crème brûlée and bread pudding. Divine! Our server was wonderful. They also have a great wine list. Make sure to visit this true hidden gem for a delicious classic French flavors. Bon appétit!

Unfortunately, it breaks my heart to say the food was disappointing. The Foie Gras was delicious and the mussels were good. The bread was like a stone. The Caprese Salad had half the amount of cheese, the tomatoes were soft, and the greens were over dressed. The lamb was tough, the fat was not rendered, salty, and covered in the sauce that goes with beef Wellington. They remade the lamb and it was still salty and tough. The Trout Meunière was covered in the same salty beef gravy they tried to convince us it was browned butter smh. They remade it without sauce but unfortunately the rice pilaf changed to steamed rice. The cheesecake was grainy, dense, and burnt. The crème brûlée was a snotty texture, burnt, and strange flavor to the custard. The manager was very nice and fixed our bill. I wanted to like this place so very bad. I do have a culinary degree and I suggest management look up their menu items and compare them to the actual French cuisine.

A wonderfully quiet, elegant dinner! Celebrating a loved one's birthday, this was a surprise outing for them. The white table cloths and lighting were a very nice touch, along with our patio view, with the light rain on the leaves. Our waitress, took our orders and served them quickly, with savvy. Though, the wine selection, imho, could be a slightly higher quality, but the entrées and desserts themselves - EXCELLENT! I'm likely to revisit for the Coq au Vin or Beef Wellington and would definitely recommend. BON APPÉTIT

Had a chance to attend (and participate in) Murder Mystery Dinner at Petite Violette this past Friday. Took my mom and sat with some friends. Everyone has a role to play - as big or as little as you can take! Although my character died in the first act, I had fun bringing her to life and then watching everyone else take on their characters! The actors are so amazing and took on every diff role they played with gusto! The room was a little cold, but I was draped with a towel - shroud of the dead?! Came back to life to eat - totally worth it! I had the chicken dish while mom had the beef! Mine was good but I enjoyed hers more! Wine, coffee and tea were served with dinner. Not being a drinker of any of those I asked for a coke - not included. The dessert was so yummy, and I ate it all even though I was stuffed! Our server was very attentive! You can tip when you make your reservation but we left more! Be aware - valet is required. No cost but cash tip. We plan to go back when they have a new show!

To start, they brought me a freshly baked loaf of GF bread and my own plate of salted butter when everyone else was eating bread. THEN I received a special marked up menu with the options that would be safe for me to eat. Had the scallops and they were divine. Also had a side of strawberries with creme and wowwwww. I could've eaten 5 of those bowls My husband got the mezzaluna which the staff described as little raviolis in Parmesan broth and he loved it. Everything 10/10, spectacular, no notes

I have never been to a higher end French Restaurant that only offered three white wines by the glass. Pushing bottles perhaps? The only white that even sounded half way decent was a boring Chardonnay at $17 for a 4-5 ounce pour. Insanity. The room we were seated in was fine, drapery everywhere which I'm sure was used to create a cozy intimate atmosphere - but the result missed the mark. Our server was gracious and attentive to start, but then became a bit absent once more guests arrived. My husband started with the much touted onion soup. No French chef would incorporate such a mass of cheese and salt to this classic preparation. There was nothing epic or outstanding about it. (even after our server said something like "the NY Times said it was the best in the country.") Yeah, right. For the mains I went with the duck confit accompanied by potatoes sarladasies. The spuds, if correctly prepared, are supposed to be garlicky and crisp after being pan fried in duck or goose fat. Mine were limp and bland. I have no idea what was in their sauce verte - as it added nothing flavor wise, and sadly just soaked the potatoes. The duck was OK. Again, nothing memorable. My husband ordered the $34 burger after hearing the $70 plus price tag for the Dover Sole Meunière. Lunacy. I mean the beef patty was tasty, but nothing better than an old fashioned cook-out one grilled in your own backyard. The frites were just weird. We have been to France on several occasions and never encountered such a preparation. Would we ever go back? Nope.

I visited with a friend who had been dying to try it, and we left very happy with our experience. Our server was fantastic and extremely helpful in navigating the menu and assisting my friend with a cocktail choice she really enjoyed. I opted for sparkling wine with a splash of St. Germain, and I loved that they brought the St. Germain on the side so I could customize the "splash" to my liking. It's those small details that make a difference. We shared a few different dishes and everything was executed well. My friend's chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful, and my Branzino was pretty good. Our accompanying sides were the whipped potatoes, broccoli, and the patatas bravas. Parking in West Midtown can be a headache, but there is valet right adjacent to the restaurant in the Cottonwood Westside apartment complex. There are other decks nearby if you prefer to park yourself, just be prepared for a bit of a walk. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with great service.

Little trick is that if you decide to use the valet in the little square area, they will validate your parking. However, since it is located in Buckhead Village parking can be a challenge at times, however very cheap at two dollars an hour. This is significantly cheaper to downtown Chicago or any other section of Chicago equivalent to Buckhead Village where it is over $14 an hour on the street parking. Anyhow, let me say that Pedro our server was fantastic. He is so full of personality and courtesy and super patient with us. I've read many reviews to talk about slow service and I have to say it is not slow service. It is simply them telling you that they are not rushing you through a meal that is to be enjoyed in an amazing ambience. And they let you move at your pace, which is fantastic. You can tell by the photos we ordered quite a bit of food and everything was absolutely delicious as there were no leftovers whatsoever My only complaint about the place is first the velvet chairs and benches make it very hard to scoot on in or get off Further, you have to pay for bread service here, which I do not believe in. Considering the prices, the bread, even if it was minimal bread and butter should be complementary. I will definitely be coming back here again, whether there be this location or their other locations in the south or even New York This is a must stop and worth every penny!

However ... five of us made a reservation, for 5:30, our plan was to eat a celebratory birthday dinner ( two birthdays) then catch the sunset on the roof. We should've known there would be issues from the drink order: A vodka tonic order yielded a vodka soda even after she confirmed he wanted tonic, not soda. The other drinks came out at different times. We ordered bread and our salads and entrees. Then the server brought out a plate of deviled eggs " a gift from the chef!" How nice. They were good, we appreciated it. Our entrees were OK: Short ribs were rich and meaty, redfish was good but a bit overcooked and dried out, pork was OK, mussels were good, but the bread wasn't grillled and was slathered with almost inedibly salty garlic butter. The salads were meh. We had wine and water and asked for our checks so we could make sunset. She brought back one check for two couples and a single. We asked if she could split it. She came back a few minutes later, after we sent the birthday folks to the roof for sunset, she said we could "just throw a card down" for the combined check. We reminded her that we wanted to split the check. She completely forgot. Several minutes later, we go our checks. Those deviled eggs that were supposed to be a "a gift from the chef?" They were on one of the checks. Thanks so much for the gift. Anyway, we quickly paid and made it upstairs before the sun was below the horizon. The roof is awesome. But Tiny Lou's is a one and done. Not worth the price. Not special. Would rather just eat at home post-sunset.

I enjoyed the pork chop as well as the truffle fries, but we both felt the bouillabaisse was pretty bland and not seasoned very well.
