Durian pancake
Katherine Y.

We were going to have lunch in a nearby restaurant but the line was too long so we came over here. It was a nice surprise with lots of interesting choices. Some of the family had ramen. I chose the durian soufflé pancakes. It was so fluffy and dreamy!! The sauce was good and the durian wasn't overpowering the light dessert. I would highly recommend this dessert!

A casual Taiwanese fusion restaurant with a cozy vibe and an eclectic menu. Service was good and the food came out quickly. In terms of the food, I would say it's a little of a mixed bag. Some of the dishes we tried were delicious, while some others were just ok. I recommend the omurice, three cup chicken, and the black chicken herbal soup. Prices are reasonable and there's a parking lot on site.

Food 3/5 Service 4/5 Ambiance 4/5 Food This location has the same menu as the Yonge Street location but it's a smaller space. It's in a plaza though so there is free parking for those who drive. We ordered the rice noodle rolls, popcorn chicken, beef short ribs, & gyoza. Everything tasted good. But not long after eating, my stomach got quite upset. I'm not sure what upset it because I have eaten all of these dishes at the Yonge Street location & not had issues. Service Our waitstaff was a variety of ladies & 1 male server. Everyone was quick to deliver the dishes & friendly as well. There is even one robot server. The dishes came out quickly from the kitchen & were delivered quickly as well. Ambiance The restaurant was decorated for christmas & I thought that was really cute. Even though the restaurant is clean the place looks like it could use a refresh. It feels a little dated. There are only three single washrooms at the back, one for women, one for men & one handicap washroom. I had to wait to use the ladies washroom & the person before me made it really stinky. I wasn't too happy about that. I prefer the Yonge street location where there is more than one ladies washroom. Conclusion Even though the menu is the same I prefer the Yonge street location. As I mentioned before my stomach got really upset after eating here. These were all dishes I've had before at the Yonge street location without issue. So I'm not sure if it was just me or if something was really wrong with the food. I didn't taste anything that was bad. Anyway, I likely wouldn't come here again. The location isn't as convenient as the Yonge street location.

North York location is quite crowded now. The food is still good, just the attention and coziness has gone down. I recently went to Yorkville one (will do another post) and had a great time there. Although crowded, this location is efficient in clearing tables to minimize the wait time, lots of families and small groups on the weekends though!

Good Taiwanese tea and deserts restaurant, they offer a variety of options. Good place to gather with friends . Service is fast and good. The waitress doesn't speak Mandarin though.

Great food; was a little weird that you had to start ordering by QR code instead of actually ordering with real people who have to come by anyway when things don't work, like items not appearing for online order when it's sold out (e.g. mango bingsu). We got the booth near the bathroom which wasn't bad since you couldn't hear anything, just that people are constantly walking by your table. The place seems a little loud, but they close at midnight (at least on a Sunday) and we had a good time. 10% cash discount. Little weird also that we couldn't close out one tab and start another since I wanted to pay for dessert with my friend. I'd take my money however it was coming especially if you have a generally young clientele that wouldn't normally carry cash.

We were seated as soon as we arrive, the restaurant is welll lit and clean. The table was well tended to. We ordered the popcorn chicken to start, it was great! I love fried chicken, but this was really well flavoured, the chin tasted like it was well marinated before coating it with the spiced flour that it was also seasoned. We had the house fruit tea, also da bomb! Tastes like passion fruit and a nice sweetness to it, with chunks of fresh fruit, omg wow! The bimebap we ordered was beef with solid fried egg, but I really think the runny egg would have been much better for this dish. But it was simply delicious, the sauce was perfect for this dish, the whole thing came together so well when it was mixed at our table. So many textures from the veggies and meat. Our dessert was also just as amazing as the rest of the meal, my favourite was the mango golden sago, the ice cream is premium, and the fruit were mostly fresh, the water melon was a little older and soggy, but the rest of the dish was great! The mango snowflake came with popping boba and condensed milk, creative and delicious!

I've tried the Lunch Special and it didn't disappoint. For $16.49 you get appetizer, salad, main entree and dessert. can go wrong for the right price. food is good and tasteful and lots of options to choice from the lunch special. I went to the Downtown Toronto location. The place is a vibe and interior is nice. definitely will go back to try other menu.

We have frequented this chain several times, and specifically this location several times. But in the past week we came twice and I decided to write another review. This restaurant has also stepped up their game! The service is great, there's one particular guy who is really pleasant (I didn't get his name though) and helpful! I ordered the vegetarian noodles with curry sauce and it was so delicious! It was honestly so good that I ordered it both times that I went 2 days in a row! We had a party of 14 on the first day and a party of four the second day and the quality was consistent. If you know the mall that the restaurant is in, the parking is pretty difficult. But what can you do? It was good

Free parking and lots of seating available. You scan the QR code to order, which i prefer because it has the menu items with pictures. it's easier to understand. the paper copy menu has some pictures but not for every single food item. I had the purple yam mille crepe cake here, it was not good. It was very dry and stale. The flavour was not pleasant, not sweet but didn't taste like purple yam. the mochi ice cream it came with was not great either, very stale mochi. The dragonfruit drink was ok. too powdery. Pay by cash and you get 10% off discount

I dropped by for some dessert after having dinner at another restaurant near by. There wasn't anyone else waiting, but the employee we spoke to said there would be a small wait and told me to enter my information in the system to join the waitlist. We were seated a minute after. This Taiwanese fusion restaurant has a nice ambiance, and an extensive menu with beautiful pictures to help you choose from the wide selection of food and drink items. While they provide physical menus, you're required to place your order through your phone by scanning a QR code that's associated with your table. I ordered the Strawberry Special Golden Toast, and the Four Seasons Green Tea Creama with 50% sugar. Both items tasted good. My only complaint is that the toast might have been over-baked because the crust was pretty hard and took a lot of effort to cut into.

August 25, 2025 - Went here for a late night snack and dessert with some friends. We ordered: Mochi Chicken Wrap w/ Chipotle sauce Sliced Beef Teppan Pepper Rice Sweet Five Assorted Dumplings w/ Coconut Milk Super Durian Sago Steamed Rice Noodle Rolls in HK style Sesame Pudding (I may have the wrong name) Strawberry Matcha Cheese Crema Lychee Slush Kiwi & Grape Enzyme I really enjoyed the Sweet dumplings. Not too sweet and nice and warm. My drink came a bit late. I had to ask them for it as I think they forgot. Overall we all liked our food.

I have an onion and garlic intolerance (I will be sick for 2-4 days if I get any), and some restaurants are born good with handling that. The staff checked all the prepped stuff and sauces and came back with suggestions of what I could have. One of the suggestions was the sukiyaki hotpot. I enjoyed it so much I've been back twice for it, and will be going in the future. The first visit was with friends, and they all really enjoyed their food as well, so my dish isn't a lone syandout.

We decided to share a bunch of dishes so we can try a bit of everything. The popcorn chicken was so delicious, perfectly crunchy and well seasoned. The BBQ sausage was very flavorful. The beef steak egg pancake was also good, though a bit oilier than expected. Our sukiyaki hotpot with udon had a nice, comforting broth and the toppings were solid. My favourite was the house-special minced pork on rice. Its a pretty simple dish but always hits the spot. The portion size is a bit smaller than if you were to compare to a traditional Chinese style restaurant. I would say this place leans more toward trendy, individual/fusion-style Taiwanese dining rather than big family style platters. In our case, with 5 people sharing mostly appetizers / smaller dishes, we ended up spending about $20 per person (tip + tax included) which is still a pretty good deal. I'd absolutely go back for the popcorn chicken and the minced-pork rice bowl again.

This place is close to a pub we used to go to all the time! We were over in no time and walked in. It was pretty empty but it was raining pretty hard when we dropped in. We had a scan at the menu and they had some specials. You could get a main but you could also make it a combo where you get a side and a drink. After having a quick look through the menu, I definitely wanted a scallion pancake with an egg. I combo'd it so I got a hash brown as well as a milk tea. We grabbed a seat, the seating in here is limited but I can't see people sitting in here for too long. I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you come with a large group. Our order was out in no time in a bunch of wrapped paper wrappers. I ripped open all my bags to check out my breakfast and they looked alright. The pancake with egg was decent as well as the hash brown I got. The milk tea wasn't overly sweet. This place has quite a number of different breakfast options and interesting ones that I'd definitely come by to try something else. Small but convenient location with a good amount of seating bar and table height seating. It was quiet on a weekday afternoon so I got my order in around 10 mins. The chicken was great, very crunchy, well seasoned both on the outside and the inside, and the chicken was juicy and tender. Since the last time I ate Monga, admittedly quite a while ago, they've changed the chicken from bone in to boneless. A nice touch for making it easier to eat on the go. The portion size is similar, well enough for a hungry single person or 2 people to share as a snack, and pricing is very fair given the downtown Toronto area. Only area for improvement would be letting the chicken sit a bit longer post frying, as my chicken was very greasy. I let it sit a while to drain so no big deal. Staff were nice and explained the chicken types differ by breading - crunchy being a type of potato starch, the original fried is flour, and the lazy chicken a crunchy powder. Each Bento box comes with your choice of 3 veggie sides along with pickled radish. There some snacks available too. Overall, the food looks and tastes great and the service is courteous. Most of the food is in heated serving pans. A few items (like fish fillet) are kept in the back to preserve their crispness. 1. Chicken Leg Bento ($15.95). 2. Red Braised Pork Bento ($15.95). 3. Fried Fish Fillet Bento ($15.95). 4. Taiwanese Sausage Share Box ($8.99). 5. Popcorn Chicken Snack ($8.99). It is $1.00 with any Bento box during grand opening day. The Chicken Leg is a thigh + leg and chopped into a few pieces when pit into the bento box. The Red Braised Pork was perfectly cooked showing the various delicious layers. The Fish Fillet breading has plum powder giving it some sweetness. I love that sweetness. The two snacks we had were plentiful and worth the $8.99 price. For the veggie sides (spread over our 3 bento boxes), we had fried tofu, eggplant, broccoli, tomato scrambled egg, green beans, cabbage with fungus, potato strips. Every side was delicious.
