I went on a Friday at 11pm. It's free parking on Yonge street after 9pm but the restaurant also offers free 2 hour parking at Empress Walk Garage. Like their other locations they have 2 standard menus. This one though didn't have the new Japanese menu items like the hot dogs and pizzas. It's a big restaurant, great for any size groups. There were 2 floors of seating. Their booth seating can fit 6 people comfortably. They close at 1am but around midnight they were already asking every diner if they were going to order anymore items. Then shortly after we were all asked to pay our bill. It felt like we were being rushed. We ordered the mixed fruit tea, popcorn chicken and a mango sago mixed fruit bowl. Big portions. The popcorn chicken pieces were large. The fruit tea was refreshing and not too sweet, despite not being able to adjust the sweetness level and the fruits were ripe. I saw another table ordered a mango toast tower and holy moly it was gigantic. It could easily feed 4 adults. There's still so many items I want to try from the menu.
I haven't been to Petite Potato in nearly 10 years and this was my first time at this location. Located on the second floor (shared entrance with another restaurant), the interior is stunning and the stairs leading up to the restaurant is beautiful and great for selfies. Service was friendly. This place is great for hanging out with friends. Food tasted great as well and presentation is IG worthy! What we ordered: - Honey Yuzu Chicken Wings (highly recommend!) - Uni Spaghetti w/ Scallop - Grilled Beef Short Rib & Salmon Roe - Mango Brick Toast - House Special Mixed Fruit Tea - Super Mango Slush
We arrived at 11 PM on a Tuesday evening and there were a handful of tables already dining when we were seated. The host greeted and brought us to our table, and told us to order on the QR code. We had no problems with ordering on the QR code and our food was ready in about 10 mins. The food was unfortunately very salty to taste. We had ordered the miso oyster, a sous vide chicken omurice, and the truffle mushroom pasta. The omurice was the biggest disappointment. It was essentially a thin layer of scrambled egg on top of the fried rice. There was no oozing of any egg when I cut into it. It was just... flat. The texture of the chicken was good. The sauce was too salty and too thick for me. The pasta was alright with a good amount of mushrooms. The miso oyster was not worth the price point and definitely too salty as well. The service was nonexistent. We were served the food, and then no one ever came by or was around. We tried looking around for someone to refill our water since we had drink it all (again, salty food) but no one was ever around until we were trying to get our check. The only reason we were able to find someone was because another table was being seated and we quickly took the opportunity to flag them down. They offer a 5% discount if you pay by cash.
Came here with a large group (8) for dinner on a Friday. Most places these days will set a time limit to how long you can stay, but we were there for several hours without being rushed to leave. I wouldn't say that the staff was overly attentive, they do have the call button at every table so they tend to leave you be unless you need something. Despite it being so busy, they were helpful whenever we called and we never had to wait long for someone to come by. My whole group thoroughly enjoyed their meals, portion sizes are large so either come hungry! I got the Japanese beef bowl which was super filling, sadly no room for dessert this time. The menu is huge so if you have the chance, check it out before you arrive!
Food 4/5 Service 4/5 Vibe 4/5 Cute place to try different types of food! I got the mushroom pasta this time and it was lovely. Slightly on the MSG side but still very very good. And you can never go wrong with their hot plate meals. Snacks wise, i actually prefer their deep fried octopus over their popcorn chicken. Overall 4/5! #eatwithclaw
TLDR: Huge menu with something for everyone! Make sure you peruse the menu before you start chatting with your friends/family/loved ones because the menu is EXTENSIVE in a good way :D Food is also reasonably priced and portions are generous -[DUCK BREAST TEPPAN PASTA] (7/10) $17.99 Comes with your choice of spaghetti/fettucine and sauce - I opted for black pepper because that's my go-to sauce and the sauce was A+. Where the dish lost a point for me was the quality of the duck breast :( Reminded me of deli meat style duck if that is a thing so I will get this again BUT with the salmon option next time as my friend said his salmon was very fresh! I also added kimchi (+$2.50) and broccoli (+$2.00) to give my dish some health haha -[ICED ESPRESSO CREMA] (7/10) $7.49 There was A LOT of ice in my drink but I didn't mind as much as most people because truthfully, I am a very slow eater so there was plenty of time for the ice fo melt. That being said, there was still a sizable amount of ice at the bottom of my cup even at the end of my meal but the drink was tasty otherwise and paired well with dessert as I opted to have little to no sugar in this iced espresso! -[OX TONGUE STEW] (10/10) $13.75 This is a MUST TRY dish! The ox tongue is perfectly stewed with vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, and broccoli and the ox tongue is oh so tender :') I got this to make my teppan pasta 10x better and it did the trick for sure - highly recommend this dish!! -[MATCHA LAVA CAKE] (7/10) $12.99 I always want more matcha flavor and that remains true for this dish too :( Otherwise, a nice way to end off a meal but do note that it takes 30 minutes to prepare because they'll start baking it at the time you place the order so don't order it if you're in a hurry or order it with the rest of your food haha NOTE: This place has a really easy to use QR code menu to place your order BUT if you have questions about the menu, the staff is super helpful and friendly :D
November 23, 2025 - I got the Pan fried satay ramen with Kimchi and pork collar, while my girlfriend got the tiger shrimp teppan pasta. I've never seen my dish around before so I decided to give it a try. The dish overall had a very seafoody taste, she said it reminded her of takoyaki. I do taste it a bit. Overall the dish was really well made. The ramen was well cooked and chewy. There were several bits of Kimchi and pork collar. You don't really taste the Kimchi flavour unless you eat a pieces of Kimchi. As for the tiger shrimp teppan pasta, the dish was generously coated in black pepper sauce. The noodles were cooked well, as were the shrimp. Nothing much more to add. Overall really well cooked dish. I'd highly recommend this place if your craving Asian comfort food. There is a huge variety of dishes and there will definitely be something on the menu for everyone!

The Noms: Uni Spaghetti w/ Scallop $21.99 Mentaiko Udon w/ Scallop $17.99 Seafood Udon in Sake Soup $20.99 Pork Collar Teppan Pasta $17.99 Garlic Sliced Pork Ramen $17.99 Grilled Unagi Bibimbap $17.99 Beef Pistol & Antler $18.99 The uni spaghetti and mentaiko udon were both rich and full of umami, though we only got about 2-3 tiny scallops. The seafood udon came loaded and the broth was flavorful. The teppan pasta was another winner with its curry sauce. The pork collar had a nice chew with a good grill from the hot plate. The garlic pork ramen was solid, though not super memorable. What stood out was the herbal soup option on the menu, which you don't see often. My MIL loved it so much she made us all drink some so we wouldn't be yeet hay (iykyk). The only real miss was the bibimbap. The rice wasn't cooked in the stone pot, so it turned mushy from the trapped heat. To make it worse, halfway through my husband found a big chunk of plastic in it from the ingredient packaging. The only saving grace there was the unagi, which was tasty before being sent back to the kitchen.
The decor here is neat! The stairs to access the fusion (HK/Japanese/Taiwanese) style restaurant are quite steep so hold on to your littles. There is an elevator for those with mobility challenges. We were quite impressed with the menu which resembled a high fashion magazine. There are two menus, one for drinks and the other for food. Everyone at the table had something to eat from their vast range of options and tastes. Appetizers: takoyaki, beef short rib and baked oyster. Mains: black garlic pork belly ramen, popcorn chicken ramen, pork katsu black truffle omurice. Dessert: mango snowflake bingsu, durian soufflé pancake. Overall, all the food was quite delicious. Everything had a good flavour and while a few of us thought it was on the saltier side, it was tolerable. One thing we wished about our experience is to have reasonably paced service. The popcorn chicken came out a good 20 minutes ahead of the noodles. By the time the noodles came out, the kids had already finished the chicken. When the dessert came out and we asked for sharing bowls, we were short utensils. We weren't given knives for the pancake which I mean technically they're soft so you can eat with your fork only, just not very politely. In addition, we hinted at having our dinner plates cleared but they were just piled at the corner of our table as we ate our desserts. Had the service been a bit better, we would have given a 4 star rating overall.

It can get quite busy at certain times of the day, especially during dinner rush or weekends, so expect a bit of a wait--but honestly, it's always worth it. The food is consistently tasty, and there's a casual, welcoming vibe that makes it perfect for everything from a casual hangout to a family dinner. If you haven't been yet, definitely give it a try--and come hungry!

There's tons of food options, dessert and drinks(non alcoholic and alcoholic)The tables are comfortable and parking is free for the first 2 hours in the underground parking lot connected to the plaza. Bring your parking ticket up with you! It's located on the second floor accessed through the outside sidewalk on Yonge) Service is great, they have servers circling around to clean tables and fill up water. The menu is also online where you can submit your order directly to the kitchen! This saves tons of time! The food we ordered was good but not great. The steak omurice was nice with tender meat but our pork Katsu was overcooked and dry. The mango soufflé pancakes were too eggy/egg white only and lack substance (we've had soufflé pancakes in many other locations across the city) Overall this is a decent spot for a gathering or date, however not a top choice for us
I've been here many times and it never disappoints! Love how extensive the menu is, there's so many dishes, drinks, and desserts to choose from. It's a great place to eat and chat, and it can accommodate to large groups as well. Service is always attentive and refilling our cups with water. I ordered the chicken cream sauce fettuccine at my last visit. Flavours were good, but it was on the slightly oily side. They also have 2 hours of free parking if you park in the garage. You just have to buzz into the intercom and tell security. read more
Honestly everything in the menu is delicious. I like how the portion sizes are not too big but not too small either. The corn ribs are very tasty, and the drinks taste like a happy barista made them. The skewers were tasty aswell. And I would like to return someday to try their durian menu, as someone who LOVES durian. Staff complimented my nails which made me happy at the beginning of this dinner. I like how the decor of the restaurant changes seasonally and during winter there's a cute snowy atmosphere. read more
Menu so extensive it was a mission to find out what I wanted to eat haha. I got the chicken tappan pasta because the picture looked really good and saucy. I found the chicken to be a bit drier than what I expected and the noodles were pretty decent, no complaints there. I liked the mushrooms with the pasta very much. Petit potato is one of my favourite spots in North York - I only hope that the quality of the food could be a bit more consistent. Sometimes it's amazing, but sometimes the food could be pretty bad. The ube toast tower was impressive and very filling. That said, my group waited an hour and a half for that. It seemed that the waiters forgot about us :/ read more

My favourite spot for late night hangouts :) It is located on the 2nd floor, entrance on Yonge Street. You can climb the stairs or take the elevator up. The decor is super elegant inside with the gold and the turquoise blue! The food and drinks are always amazing! The menu is extensive and I love trying something new every time ^^ Service is speedy, friendly and courteous! First time trying Petit Potato despite having so many other locations. We waited about 5 mins for a table but service wasn't so great. The restaurant was pretty big (and loud) and they had lots of servers but it was hard to track down anyone. The menu was also quite dirty. It was a magazine and probably because they've been using it for quite some time now, the texture/corners were kinda ripped and all black. I had to wash my hands after ordering. We got the omurice, taiwanese popcorn chicken rice, passionfruit drink and bingsu for dessert. On the menu, the omurice looked like the japanese style (creamy custardy omelette), but it was definitely not. The minced pork rice sauce was good but not the popcorn chicken. For the chicken, it felt like they used a lot of baking soda to tenderize it. The drink was nice and the bingsu was way bigger than expected. Suggest ordering desserts last because they do come out pretty quickly. Will I come back? Probably not this location. read more
I've been wanting to go to Petit Potato for years (back when there was only one location) and was so happy to find out that they had a location near my family's place. Located right at Empress and Yonge, Petit Potato has an extensive menu but what drew me to visit was the golden toast. For drinks we had the white peach oolong tea and matcha latte. Both were perfect, the matcha latte was rich and milky, everything a latte should be. The white peach oolong tea was fragrant and very mildly sweet, which makes it enjoyable for a lot of people. For the grand dessert, I had to get the mango golden toast. I saw this on Instagram years ago and was excited to try it. It took around 15-20 minutes to get to us (on the menu it said to preorder as it can take 30 mins). It was 4-5 pieces of milk bread toast that were hollowed out to the crust and re-stuffed with the crispy pieces. It was drenched in whipped cream and mango sauce and topped with vanilla ice cream and pieces of mango. Surprisingly, not overly sweet. Definitely can feed 4-8 people (was just me and my husband, we took the rest home). Highly recommend trying it! The restaurant itself is spacious and very clean. Overall the service was great, you order the food yourself by scanning the QR code. One thing to note, there is free 2 hr parking (at 8 Hillcrest Ave, P2)! I didn't realize there was a huge dinner menu so I will be coming back it to try the food but it looked amazing as it was coming out. read more

Not sure why I haven't dine at this restaurant sooner despite trying their bakery items a few years ago. I came here with a friend and ordered steak omirice. The presentation was beautiful, with the omlette covering all the rice. For the price and high cost of food nowadays, I feel like they were generous with the steak portion. They didn't ask how I would like the steak cooked, but it came out what I wanted (medium well). Don't quote me on this, but I think it was a flank steak. The sauce had a nice black pepper taste, but I did find it a slight overkill to the the rice inside coated with sauce (the rice inside was a medium brown) However, maybe this is typical of omirice - as I don't have much experience with omirice. The service was superb, they kept an eye on our water glasses and came to refill when necessary. They even ask if we would like to have it refill before filling our glasses up! Also, they were patient with us with regards to our indecisiveness of splitting the bill. Thanks! read more

Visited petit potato on a weekday and we were seated right away. We tried out their gyoza, omurice, and uni spaghetti with scallop. We enjoyed every dish! The gyoza was crispy and tasty, omurice was savoury and a bit spicy, and our favourite was probably the spaghetti - creamy, delicious, and everything in the dish just compliments each other so well. Service was quick. Interior is nicely decorated. Wide variety on the menu. Would recommend! read more
I would say I was very impressed with the dessert menu. I've got their crepe cake that feels delicate and very creamy, the mango sago is a must try. Uni spaghetti is a bomb that truly surprised me then the ox tongue is to die for. The service is good and they have a nice interior! What a huge disappointment. We arrived at a fairly early dinner time on Friday, so the restaurant wasn't very crowded. The menu looked extravagantly fancy online, but unfortunately was not even close to reality. I had the seafood omurice, which arrived with 7 tiny pieces of seafood (and no, I don't count the imitation crab as seafood!). The taste had an uncanny resemblance to canned tomato sauce, which was the only flavour I could detect. On the positive side, the rice underneath the egg was fried well, and that's about it. For the price point, this was easily one of the most mediocre meals I've ever had. Their famous teppan dish was also nothing special. Service was basically nonexistent despite the fact that the place was not even busy at first. They literally forgot about the omurice and it wasn't until we noticed other tables getting their dishes that we had to flag down a waitress and inquire as to its whereabouts. Of course there was no question of getting anything else - water, the bill, etc. - without significant effort. A total waste of time, I will not be coming back. read more

It's a decent place for lunch if u r in the area for some taiwanese food. Lot of options available on the menu. Service is great as staff is quick and attentive. You order off website but there is a cash discount. Seating is plentiful with great views and very roomy. Finally see photos for details on the free parking available. read more
The food here is amazing! I ordered the chicken breast black pepper omurice and tasted very flavourful. I also love their curry fried chicken omurice as well. For desserts they always have so many options but today I got chocolate banana soufflé pancakes and mango sago with assorted fruit and jellies. Amazing meal! The atmosphere is always lively no matter how late you go. It's always busy which comes to show how much people love this place. The service however is strange as they don't check in with you and literally just do the job of delivering food to the table and that's it. read more
Disappointed- I've always heard that the desserts at Petit Potato are great, I ordered 2 desserts (House Special Soy Bean Jelly W/Brown & Steamed Ginger Milk Pudding) for takeout via their new mobile app, but the service was slow and not great, we waited extra 15mins for the food. About the desserts...the ginger milk pudding without any ginger favoured, only can taste the milk and the soy bean jelly with tofu pudding was not tasting good.....:( a bad experience for me... read more

my friends and I came in at 11pm, and it was still really packed since the restaurant closes at 2am. The service was great as we waited for 10 mjnutes and then we were seated. I got the tofu hua, and it was just what I expected. They added a little twist to the dish with brown sugar and brown sugar syrup. I'm not a big fan of the ginger taste, so I did not add it. We also got mango snowflake, and it was refreshing. We almost got the golden toast series, but we didn't since we saw the table next to us the portion was huge. I think you need to either have a big party or a very big appetite for dessert. Overall, it was a good experience. read more
This was an incredibly disappointing experience. But for those wanting try, a couple of things to note: - There's parking in the empress building @ P2, the restaurant validates it - They have staff in the restaurant but you have to order on your phone, the menu is overwhelming and slightly complicated. With the number of staff they have in the restaurant, I feel it makes more sense to just take customers orders so we can ask questions The food was mediocre. I was really excited to try the unagi spaghetti but it lacked flavour. I had to add my own seasoning when I got home after not finishing it in the restaurant. The ube crepe cake did not taste like ube at all. It was just creamy but definitely not worth how much one small slice was. We also tried the takoyaki which was not bad but nothing special. They had seasonal mango roll and again, not worth how much it was. It was quality mango but other than that, the roll they used was not tasty nor was it worth the price. The restaurant itself was cute and spacious with lots of seating. Overall, I will not be going back here. Not worth the hype and wouldn't recommend it for the price and quality of food read more
Solid place to go with friends for desserts. I'm personally not a fan of their infamous toast tower because I find the toast to be too hard. That being said we often visit Petit Potato because they have a large selection of both food and desserts. My favourite is the mango snowflake, all the teas and drinks are pretty big and delicious, and you can't go wrong with the Asian dessert selection. Service is relatively quick but the restaurant is quite busy so weekend reservations would be recommended. You can also park at Empress Garage and validate your parking for two hours. read more
We went to Petit Potato restaurant for lunch. The restaurant is nicely decorated the menu looks great. Service was okay, but robotic. We were told to sit and order using a QR code. We ordered the popcorn chicken, deep fried fish cake, sliced beef teppan pepper rice, and the sous vide chicken breast omurice. After waiting a few minutes, all the dishes came at once which is kind of annoying. The food was good, but kind of lukewarm. I didn't get a lot of flavour with my sliced beef teppan pepper rice. Would we go back? Maybe since the other dishes on the menu look tempting. read more
When you first see the name of the restaurant you don't immediately assume the type of food on the menu would be Asian. But this is exactly what it is. Taiwanese/Asian fusion is what is on the website. Think Mabu Generation...Phoenix etc... Many moons ago this location used to be a Milestones. The entrance is off Yonge Street (there is no entrance from the mall (Empress Walk) itself) and the restaurant itself is upstairs (there is an elevator). You order via QR code and are also given hard copy menus. The menus themselves are big in both choice and size. They look like magazines. The drink menu is separate from the food menu. Lots of alcoholic and non alcoholic choices. Food is everything from Ramen to BiBimBap to Omurice to Mini Hotpot. Lots of options for dessert, a whole page dedicated to durian deserts. They also carry herbal soups. What was ordered: 1. Appetizer: fish cake 2. Minced Pork BiBimBap 3. Tiger Shrimp Teppan Pasta 4. Pork Cutlet Omurice with Curry 5. Beef Striploin Steak Omurice with Black Pepper Sauce 6. Lychee Green Tea The verdict? It was okay. The worst dish was probably the BiBimBap. What was served is really a Taiwanese ground pork on rice. It came with a fried egg, kimchi, pickled turnip and 2 pieces of broccoli. The bowl was packed so it made it very difficult to mix. Sauce was a watery bean sauce. It didn't help that we had to wait an additional 10 minutes after all the other dishes came out. We actually had to ask staff to follow up to see why it was taking so long. Service was attentive though. The other dishes were all okay. Nothing remarkable. The steak on the Omurice was done nicely, not over cooked. There is so much on the menu that I'm sure everyone will find something to eat. Prices are okay. read more
Came here with a group of friends for dinner one weekend, and it was packed! Modern decor, conversational atmosphere, but I just didn't love the Taiwanese fusion food. However, the desserts were wonderful (though a bit too pricey in my opinion). read more

I have been here twice. Both times have been similar experience. I love the decor inside mainly the colour palette of the walls. Food is alright and service is ok. You order via a QR code. There are many options to choose from and most likely you'll find something you want to try. The pricing here is middle to high, they serve fusion Taiwanese food, spaghetti or rice dishes with a western flair. read more
Such a nice spot. Located upstairs, right next to Empress Walk and Shoppers Drug Mart, off Yonge St! A huge menu with dishes that have very nice presentation! We ordered way too much to eat, but each dish was fun, flavourful and great for sharing! Washrooms were pretty gross, but everything else was great! read more
Friday night is very busy on this yonge street shop. There are lots of variety on cushion food like pasta and rice in iron pan . Lots of dessert to try on. Hot or cold . It will take awhile to select through the menu. Since we have group of 8, choice of dinner is from pork neck with rice in iron pan, scallop pasta and Japanese ramen. They all serve well. As I see the rice menu, I ordered more sauce for free with the rice. Since it only validate 2 hours parking and the restaurant will not provide extended time, you will need to pay your own parking after 2 hours. With the busy hours, if you need to wait for table, and enjoy the group dinner, time is pretty tight. I recommend you watch your clock or don't mind to pay parking if you want to spend longer time to enjoy the night with food, dessert and drinks. read more
