    Petey's Eatey's in Nazareth

Outside dining at Petey's is a thing. Stop in for ice cream or hot dogs or burgers but I was here for a cheesesteak. Order at the window and they'll call out your order. The young lady who took my order said 25 minutes but it ended up being 9. Bonus for me! I sat outside at their covered dining patio, unwrapping the sandwich and enjoying it with a can of soda I'd brought along. The sandwich was good, not great. Definitely served hot and properly stuffed with thin sliced steak and mushrooms. More cheese would have definitely done it and yes, because I'm not from around here, I would have added ketchup. Parking in their small lot is cool but will be tough during the peak summer months. I would have to imagine that this place is hopping on a Friday night when school's out. On a work trip today I was in the mood for a hot dog and to my surprise I found Petey's Eatey's and it was good. I ordered two scooby dogs-chili cheese wiz, mustard dogs very yummy I would definitely come here again!!

This place used to be great! Now it's just filled with arrogant teenagers that don't care. Waited 45 minutes for a hot dog and pork roll sandwich. Only one there waiting. All kids inside throwing food and talking. Zero supervision. I could see them burning my pork roll and laughing. Skip this place

Good value for the money! Fully loaded Italian hoagie was filling even to share! Call ahead to avoid the wait- they're always busy!

A hot fudge sundae made wrong

Very disappointed in Petey's . Their service has gone down hill. The kids working there have a " I don't care attitude". I ordered a hot fudge sundae to go. It took them close to 15 minutes to make it. There was no other customers before me. In face the girls where just chatting when I walked in. And this is how I found my sundae. The fudge is to one side and it's not even hot. I guess I'll start going to Zanette's in East Lawn. They are farther away. But at least they have a friendly staff who knows how to make a hot fudge sundae.

First off, I was raised around food service and restaurant businesses and have particularly high standards. The ROLL should be FRESH if not crusty exterior and warm inside. The steak meat should be mixed with some type of American or Provolone, Pepper Jack and onions, peppers, mushrooms or without. Hold the salt; the cheese is full of salt. Then add a nice wide drizzle of marinara or red sauce across the top and VOILA! Add a huge bag of fresh cut French fries to the mix and it's a ridiculously awesome combo that NO CHEESESTEAK PLACE can beat! That's what this place serves consistently each visit! Although it may be tucked behind the now destructed NEWBURG INN over off of route 191, that travel time will be worth every bite. This place will impress even the pickiest of critics. Give it a go.

I ordered the cheesesteak special; 10" cheesesteak, fries, and drink for $12.49. Definitely a great deal! I got my cheesesteak with American cheese, onions, and mushrooms. They didn't skimp on the meat and it tasted great. A better roll and more cheese would have put it in the 8s. Newburg Deli is strictly a grab and go. There is no dining room and there is no delivery. It would be hard pressed to find a classic like this in the Bay Area, and if something like this does still exist, it's at risk of withering away at any moment. Fortunately, that's not the case here, where nostalgia lives on. I come here for their macaroni salad, but I know locals who prefer their potato salad and ham salad instead. FYI, for California folks not familiar with ham salad, it's similar to a tuna or egg salad, except made with ham. Thus far, I've had the macaroni salad for the 2 out of 2 days I've been here so far. I may give their potato salad a try tomorrow. Personally, I'd have their macaroni salad everyday, if I lived here. You'll also find plenty of Pennsylvania and East Coast classical food items that you won't find in California, like their homemade shoo-fly pies and kiffles, A-Coast sodas, Good's Chips and Tasty Cakes. In addition, there's also local memorabilia along the walls of this tiny store. When I see all of these things, I know I'm not in the Bay Area anymore! Ressler's is super popular for their sandwiches, particularly their Italian subs. During lunch, this is a busy place as people come in for their grab and go sandwiches. And doesn't macaroni salad make a great accompaniment to an Italian hoagie? I certainly think so!!

I first found Giacomo's when I moved from Jersey to the Lehigh Valley more than 20 years ago. Long…read morebefore the sons of the original owner opened the Market and Grill in College Hill. Raised in Brooklyn, NY for 20 years, my expectations were low. The old man closed his store and retired and I discovered the tradition moved forward in the new College Hill store. The original Giacomo's was not a grill, but the old man (whose name escapes me), knew how to make sausage. Imported cheeses and olives with bread brought in from NYC made this a no brainer for folks like me. The old man couldn't retire and he came in just to make the sausage - of which the thin (pictured) parsley and cheese sells out the same day quite often. My favorite - though the other varieties are top notch too. I heard he still makes the sausage today but I can't confirm or deny that. Having moved to Naples, FL and then Myrtle Beach, SC - I had long forgotton Giacomo"s. Now back in PA (Allentown), I recently wanted good ravioli. The company that make the best ravioli in the world is Pastosa's. I went to their website and saw they opend a bunch of stores in both NY and NJ. I had just about talked myself into an hour or more ride when I found they also sold at select retailers. Wouldn't you know Giacomo's is one of them. My car drove itsel to Giacomo's and I got a box of the large ravioli, a bag of home made meatballs, and a qusrt of homeade tomato sauce. OMG - Pastosa still make the best ravioli in the world. And Giacomo's seel the full line including a bunch of ravioli varities, stuffed shells, manicoti and more.Of course I picked up some Italian specialties along the way while there. HEAVEN! Don't go hungry and bring plenty of money - because it's easy to drop a hundred dollars there and you'll have ZERO buyers remorse. Check out their website ba cause this review just scratches the surface of all the authentic Italian delicacies they have. Don't forget Junior's Cheescake - Simply The Best!
