The bloody, Space Dust and a lager
Liz K.

My parents and I stopped in to have a post-run/walk cocktail and were able to snag corner seats at the bar! Everyone was welcoming and we loved this place right off the bat. They had my favorite beer on tap so that's already 4 STARS right there!! My mom got the Bloody Mary and that thing looked DELICIOUS! Apparently the bacon they use was SOOOOO good! A few people had them and everyone raved! Prices were decent Many beers on tap!! The bar itself is nicely decorated with framed jazz artists pieces! Very cool! A very New Orleans type vibe. And a pool table to boot!! Parking in back as well is a plus as you know this area it's hit or miss. We already talked about coming back....you should too!!

Absolutely my favorite La Mesa bar. All the bartenders are awesome and very chill and friendly every time me and my sister come in. Definitely a bar we frequent. There is plenty of food around this area if you need a pick me up before or after, they also have a large back patio for smoking which is perfect for anyone needing that smoke break between drinking. They have 2 pool tables that take quarters & if you're wanting to play, bring ya coins and go for it!!

Carl~~! A caring guy!

The atmosphere here is totally laid back and the drinks here are awesome. The bartender- Carl, is Amazing!!!! I tell him that I wanted a sweet drink after the Bloody Mary he hooked me up with a sweet drink! Then he hooked up my friend on finding the statistics data on single men frequent the bar. Act as a wingman who served you drink and gives you advise on the men that goes thru here and also make awesome drinks lol He is a great guy, is in a committed relationship with his gal. And still lookout for the single gals that wondering thru and gives her pep talk to keep her confidence up, on the sexual deviant that loams the online dating scenes. While she allowed me to texting fun lines to her online matches. Lol. There were few bites from these lines ...lol And meeting other fun bar people in the process. Overall a great atmosphere to come to, enjoying the night. Not too loud and have a decent conversation with. Drinks here is cheap too, learning that from other bar people here. There is no food served here, but they allow you to bring outside food to eats in the place. Nice!!!

I think it was a little over 6 years ago I was introduced to Pete's. It's becoming my go-to after work spot. Gets the job done!

After a quick look around, I took a seat at the bar. The bartender had her back to me; I could see her texting, then switching to Instagram. A woman in a Christmas sweater greeted me before the bartender did and had to remind her--twice--that I was there before she finally put her phone down and acknowledged me. Bartender: Hello, thanks for waiting. How are you? Me: Thirsty. Bartender: What can I get you? Me: Bourbon and water, please. Bartender: What kind of bourbon? Me: The well is fine, thanks. Bartender: Jack is-- inaudible Bartender: Do you want a double? It's only $3.50 more. Me: No thanks. Bartender: You know, be nice. The bartender walks away to make the drink and immediately complains about me to her friends sitting directly across the bar. One of them rolls his eyes at me. Me: Hey, I was nice enough to wait while you were on your phone. Bartender: No, you weren't. I slide my drink back to her. Me: You can just give my drink to your friends across the bar. Bartender: I will. I walk out. The eye-roller stares at me as I leave. Acknowledge guests, stay professional, and don't complain about customers to friends sitting right in front of them. Promote the girl in the Christmas sweater. And if Eye Ball wants to talk about it sometime, we can meet elsewhere for a drink. My treat.

Explained how the pour-it-yourself works and the prices were reasonable, I really enjoyed being able to taste a bunch of different drinks before committing to one lol. The chocolate espresso one is SO good. It's a smaller place, but they did a great job designing it so it never feels crowded or cramped. It's perfect for a double date or a girls' night--especially sitting outside on their bar booth patio where you can relax and actually have good conversations. I've gone for both, and every time has been such a great experience. The staff is always super friendly too. Definitely a go-to spot!

Everything is so clean but it has a very good rustic and real feel to it. The drinks here are my favorite because to be honest, I'm a sours beer kind of guy and they have a whole building dedicated to it. The amount of variety when it comes to sours is great a prices are fair. Flavors pop but theirs also a good enough selection if you want a more chill sour that won't punch you in the face. The other building (not sure which is considered the main ones) has a large selection of your typical IPAs, lagers, you name it. The flavors are good and they seems to have some deals going on from time to time for cans to take home which I can appreciate. They also have a few board games to keep you entertained and seem to consistently have some options fora food vendor as well as many times having live music. Definitely worth the visit on a day you see them having one of these vendors or live bands you may be interested in. The people here seem to be very friendly with their regulars and greet you as if you're a friend. I think this bodes well with breweries considering you're usually here to have a good time and chill. I wouldn't say it feels like the reason I'd come back at all but no complaints here. Just didn't feel like out of this world service by any means.
