Reuben with fries
Megan M.

Came in here on a chilly Monday afternoon on our way to the airport. While they were once open 24 hours always, that is now reserved for Friday and Saturdays. This was certainly a no frills restaurant that had been around for a minute. Our group was seated in what appears to be a converted patio on mismatched chairs. Service was prompt and we all mainly ordered soups and sandwiches. I got the lemon chicken soup and a Reuben with fries. Both were awesome, diner style. Prices were pretty decent as well. Would recommend if you're looking for a homey feel in Denver!

Went here for the first time for breakfast during lunch. First and foremost, shout out to chef Justin and our server Kaylee (spelling?). Breakfast was phenomenal with healthy portions! From the biscuits and gravy, to the crispy bacon, to the absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked home style potatoes, all amazing. However, the pancakes! The pancakes were some of the best of the pancakes I've had! They were lightly crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the center. Needless to say I over ate because I could not stop eating the pancakes!! Kaylee was an absolute delight and made everything that much better. We felt welcomed, she was funny, and took great care of us with regular check ins. There's some construction out front, but don't let this discourage you. We took the back streets and avoided Colfax. This is a cute diner with a lot of history and charm! I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this diner!

Dine in comfort food that taste amazing! Gyro meat is the way to go as it taste so flavorful and tender. The fries are cooked to perfection! Crispy but not overly greasy or salty. Definitely a must if you're grabbing a lunch or late night meal. The atmosphere is awesome and service is great!

Super solid breakfast option in Denver. Very friendly service and all food came out in a timely manner. Had the chicken fried steak and eggs and a stack of pancakes. All of recommend.

This is a standby that has simple delicious food with affordable prices. The interior is decorated with booths and a counter where you can view the cooks. There was outdoor dining as well. The parking in the back is small though. Waitress was nice and friendly and greeted us with a smile. I ate the veggie gyro with a side of crispy fries while my friend had the fish and chips meal. It's a restaurant that can be counted on for good food and good service.

Two eggs, hash, ham

A classic diner that hits the spot! We came to Pete's Kitchen for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was full, but it was clear that this classic diner has a following and rightfully so, they have kept that classic diner feel, the food is on point, and the serves is fast and friendly. We sat at the counter in order to be seated immediately but they churr people in and out so, the wait would not have been long for a table. It was also fun to chat with the cook, who informed us he had been working there for 18 years and clearly still loving what he does. I got a classic breakfast of two eggs, hash, ham, and it came with pancakes that the four of split because they are very very large! Everything was cooked well except for the potato's, they could have been a bit crispier for me. You can ask for extra crispy, since my friend did for her bacon. You will need to salt and pepper unless you order something with a sauce like the breakfast burrito which was not too spicy (I can't handle a lot of spicy). The pancakes were by far the best item. Fluffy, large, and took me back to the past with every bite. I can't wait to go back and try a lunch item, I saw a ton of sandwiches being ordered while I was there for 45 minutes.

This is my 2nd visit this year. I heard they were very slow due to Colfax Ave bus lane construction. But this morning there is no actual roadwork in front on Colfax. Street parking is limited to 2hrs on Race St and no parking on Colfax. They have a free private parking lot behind Pete's shared with Satire Lounge that can hold 30 cars so parking is not an issue. When I walked in a 815am, I was the 3rd party. I started with a large mug of hot coffee. Plenty of half & half creamers and sweeteners on the table. I sat in one of the smaller booths. I got their breakfast sandwich with lots of bacon on a brioche bun with home fries. I added a 1/2 order of French toast (2 slices of Texas toast) topped with powdered sugar. It was served with plenty of salted butter and syrup. All good. My server was Neli. She has been here 27 years I saw 3 guys come in, one was in a wheelchair, to order takeout. I used the restrooms which need to be cleaned and refreshed. The men's & women's restrooms are too narrow for wheelchairs.

A staple diner in the community for decades but take it for granted that I never stopped to give them their flowers . Service is fantastic even at 1am . Music is always on point and the food is delicious . If you are in the mood for breakfast, lunch, dinner or looking for a good place after a concert this is a great place for anyone and everyone ! Their Philly Cheesesteaks, Gyro's , French dip sandwiches are to die for and I had their chicken fried chicken with well done hash browns that always hits . Check it out !

A local favorite and a historical location, this spot seems like it has maintained its hole-in-a-wall stature, interior is old and worn off. Despite that the place has lots of recognition and accolades displayed on their wall. But the outdoor seating they have, looked so new and modern, best part of the restaurant. The breakfast items we tried were okay. Lemonade was decent. Pancakes were not so good. Service is okay. Dishes came out within a short time. We were happy to have checked mark this iconic spot but probably not the best experience we imagined.

Biscuits and gravy, supreme breakfast burrito with green chile & all the meats
Yuri J.

First stop in Denver and we licked our plates clean...! Pete's Kitchen is a solid diner in Denver - we saw the breakfast burrito supreme is a must and it satisfied our hungry stomachs. The green chile is soo delicious and the burrito is PACKED with eggs, gyro, meats and topped with cheese. The fried hash brown was the BEST part about this burrito. Biscuits and gravy are a classic too!

Looks, feels and eats like a diner. Love the gyro and Greek options. Service was fast and attentive.

I wanted a burger he wanted to sit down meal and we ended up at the Moonlight Diner. Walking into the diner is like a step back in time. The decor is 1950s memorabilia with chrome touches and leather wrapped seating. It's everything you would think a diner would be but the food is so much more. They have a full bar as well as dairy treats, including shakes and malts. They also have breakfast all day and love their pancakes. They also serve barbecue. But I went for the patty melt. And my other half went for breakfast. His breakfast was the mountain man breakfast and was full of meats, eggs hashbrowns, and Ken with pancakes, but he opted for English buffet instead. It also came with a side of toast. It was a very ample breakfast. My patty melt sure did hit the spot. It was a perfectly medium cooked hamburger on rye with cheddar, and Swiss melted with grilled onions and thousand island dressing. Instead of fries, I went for the mashed potatoes and gravy. It was comfort food to the max. My date also got the peanut butter shake. He slurped that down in a hot minute. He said it was wonderful. He offered me a taste at least twice before I noticed it was gone. There's also meatloaf on the menu as well as a pulled pork barbecue Frito pie and they have a Frito pie burger. They also serve meatloaf. They have several classics and several twists. I recommend going there. There's something for everyone.

We headed down to a crowded restaurant around 11 AM. It was pretty packed because it was opening day for the Colorado Rockies, and everyone was getting pre-game food. We checked in, to find that it was only about a 15-20 minute wait, a perfect amount of time to get mimosas at the bar. It actually turned out that we had a nice little area to drink our mimosas near the hostess stand, where we got to chat with other patrons. The restaurant itself is an upscale and modern diner, with modern diner food. It had a bight aesthetic. Once we were seated, we got to look over the menu. We decided to share the Maple Deviled Eggs and OG Hash with soyrizo. I was glad we shared so we could try both dishes. Also, the portions were rather large. Anyway, we enjoyed the food. It was creative and flavorful. There were lots of menu items the sounded good, so it was difficult to decide. It was also fun to try a couple of breakfast cocktails, for something different than a mimosa. All in all, we had a great brunch at The Original, and it was a great way to start our day.

We were able to watch the waitlist on the Yelp app and we received our "table is ready" text on our mobile as well as thru the app. Pretty sweet! The cakes here are definitely a safe go to. Slightly sweet and fluffy and taste good with syrup, jam or alone. The restrooms could use a little attention. The floors were wet and the towel dispenser not working properly. Nothing a little makeover couldn't help.
