44th St & Indian School. My OG Arcadia HS hang out. Food 5/5 Same since the beginning, shrimp and large sauce! Finally convinced my Wife to try them. Yup she gave up the fish and does shrimp whenever we visit. My Neice and children are addicted too. Best value in fast food Service 5/5 Order window, always a friendly face and foods out quickly for made to order stds. Atmosphere 4/5 It's outside service. It's kept clean but not a great place during the summer months. Hard core Pete addicts don't mind LOL!

Elizabeth (said she was a manager) has terrible customer service. I called because I got home began eating the food and it was all under cooked besides the fish. The fries were cold like they just got dipped in the fryer not cooked. The shrimp was undercooked and the batter was raw inside. I took photos and threw the food away, I called to let them know and she immediately said "well you need to bring the food back" after I said I have photos I told her I threw it away and she continued to say they won't do anything without the food I got irritated and she said fine you could come today and get the food again but not the sauces which I don't want either thing. I said I'm no longer interested in eating that today I prefer a refund or credit she said no you have 5 days to pick up the food and that's it. Gross.

Pete's Fish & Shrimp - Still the Best in Arizona! We recently made it back home to Arizona, and the first thing on my list was Pete's. It's one of my all-time favorite spots, and after this visit, it's easy to remember why. The fish and shrimp were absolutely amazing, crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. And that Pete's Sauce... still as delicious as ever! There's just something about the taste that hits every time, pure nostalgia and quality. If you're in Arizona and craving some seriously good fast seafood, Pete's is a must.

I recently tried Pete's for the first time, and I was impressed! Everything is perfectly fried and seasoned. The Pete's sauce has a unique tang that's reminiscent of a blend of cocktail sauce, ketchup, and cider. The crabettes, which are deep-fried imitation crab sticks, were a real highlight--delicious! Just a heads up: there aren't any lettuce, tomatoes, or mayo, but they do offer plenty of tartar and mustard. The "chips" are basic French fries - a filler, not a thriller. Service was friendly and helpful when I had questions. Drive thru available and ample seating outside the walk up order area.

A great spot to eat outside -- loved the casual vibe. The fish was perfectly crispy and Pete's sauce is delicious (I had to order extra). Cash only, so come prepared; that's the only reason I didn't give five stars. Friendly service and solid value.

I love Pete's Fish & Chips, it's always just so good ! This location is nice , service is great food comes out fast, and is always perfectly cooked and delicious. The fish is fried to a golden brown , the spicy ketchup is addicting so make sure you grab extra and I love adding lemon juice to my fish !! They add fries ( chips ) to almost everything you order too , which is awesome

Let me start by saying this: Pete's Fish and Chips is a classic fried food joint, not an upscale fish fry, and that's exactly what it aims to be. Some reviewers seemed disappointed, but Pete's is a local staple that's been around for decades. I ordered the fish and chicken tender platter, which came with fries. Both the fish and tenders were crispy, and the fries were decent -- nothing spectacular but solid. The sauces were a highlight. The tartar sauce was good, and their special sauce, which tasted like ketchup with a hint of sweet chili, was a nice touch. Even the Sprite was ice-cold and bubbly, just how it should be. For what Pete's is, it hit the spot!

First visit to Pete's. It was exactly what I was expecting. You're not getting fancy fish and chips but damn, was it good. Very simple and the fries were good. The young ladies manning the window. And drive through were very sweet and understanding when I had to pull in and use the ATM (cash only). Definitely visiting again.

I have been eating at Pete's Fish and Chips for over 55years, but this is my favorite location as I used to live down the street before moving to Tucson. I make a point every time in Phoenix to stop by the mist filled patio and wonderful smell to order my favorite items. Not pictured is the already eaten Onion Rings and Great Burger! Fast Food has gotten extremely Expensive and Pete's Fish and Chips had Amazing Gonga Deal Prices, and the Food was GREAT! The Staff was Sooooo Kind and Always take such good care of the people in line waiting to order at such an Awesome location. They are Fast, Kind and Always get my order Right! Fish Well Done, with Extra Seasoning Salt and Large Sauce, the Best! You All Are Awesome, Be Very Proud!

I dk how you can be a native to Phx and NOT love Pete's. It's a classic. This location is by far my favorite. Always excellent customer service and always soooo fresh. My food is always steaming. I always get a 10piece shrimp & 4 piece chicken basket. Their shrimp is so good. Deep fried to perfection & I love the salt sprinkled on top. The chicken strips have pepper in the batter which just add a nice flavor. The SAUCE?! I dk what Pete's special sauce is, but when you dip your food amazing things happen lol.

My family grew up going to Pete's. We used to go to the original location in Tempe on Mill Ave. This year Pete's Fish & Chips is celebrating 75 years here in the Valley. Pete Grant moved to the Valley and opened his first stand in 1947 because his doctor said he needed to live in a hot dry climate for his medical condition. Back then, fish and chips were only 35 cents. Food has always been affordable and still is today. Pete used to say that Pete's Fish & Chips is the Biltmore for the common man. It's been awhile since I have stopped at Pete's. There are still quite a few locations here in the Valley. As a kid, I would always get a monster burger or a hot dog. If you have never been, they have a special "secret sauce" to dip your fries in. I think it is cool that Pete's Fish & Chips sticks to the old ways of doing things and only accepts cash. There is an ATM a each site if you aren't prepared. For the negative reviewers, Pete's Fish & Chips isn't gourmet food. It's meant to be cheap greasy fried food. My monster and fries cost $5 and was an enjoyable little throwback to my childhood.

UPDATE 2026…read more Bluewater is our new favorite seafood restaurant. We went last Wednesday for HH and the bartenders are a fantastic team. They run a very professional bar. The service we received from them was next level. The kitchen did a great job too. I got the fish and chips with walleye. It was flaky goodness paired with crisp and salty fries. I washed it down with a couple smoked old fashoineds. We left with a satisfied smile.

Came here for lunch recently with a family member when we were in the area…read more After looking over the menu, we decided to start off with the grilled Spanish octopus to share, and I had gotten a cup of the New England clam chowder. The Spanish octopus was alright. The clam chowder was flavorful and not too salty; definitely made it into the top three clam chowders I've had in the state so far. For our main entrees we ordered the New England lobster roll and the gemelli pasta with shrimp and scallops. The lobster roll was flavorful but felt like it was missing something. The gemelli pasta tasted a bit bland for my taste buds, but the family member I went with really enjoyed it. Since we always have room for dessert, we ordered a crème brulee to share. The crème brulee was nice and not overly sweet. Overall, service was professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and the food arrived in a timely manner. The restaurant itself is quite spacious with nautical décor throughout which gives off a comfortable and relaxing vibe.

Only downside is that…read morefor some reason Apple maps was not accurate to finding the location and parking was a challenge as it is right on Roosevelt Row. However as soon as I found it and immediately after entering Pretty Penny I was transformed to the cutest little restaurant. I was greeted immediately and had made a reservation so even though my friend hadn't arrived yet, they sat me down. They instantly offered water and menus (food and cocktail). I noticed that the menu seemed very small and the dishes were shareable -- I don't eat meat so I was hoping my friend wouldn't mind sticking with fish and seafood (which she didn't). As soon as I got to my table there was the cutest sign that said welcome to Sarah Sherman and guest -- it was such an adorable and personal touch, I loved that! As soon as my friend got there we immediately both ordered the cold brew old fashioned -- we thought about the espresso martini but this just sounded too good to pass up -- and we were not disappointed! This drink was so tasty and strong. We immediately ordered the bread (sourdough boule) to soak up some of the alcohol as well as some oysters and the salsa. The oysters were so well spiced and were absolutely delicious. But the bread, the bread, the bread -- the server mentioned that it took almost 9 months to develop the bread recipe and it served. It was the best bread and butter that I think I have ever had! The salsa was good but probably was my least favorite of everything and it was still super yummy. We then moved on to the octopus tostadas. Sometimes octopus is not my fav -- it can be too chewy but this was so amazing and incredibly flavorful. It was starting to be my favorite dish until we ordered the Hamachi -- OMG!! Talk about a mouth orgasm-- both my friend and I were yummming it up -- but seriously this bite was so complex with different flavors coming up with every chew -- it has coriander candied peanuts, fermented pineapple, avocado, pickled fresno, toasted coconut and aji amarillo yogurt -- The server mentioned that this was the chef's least favorite dish which I totally do not understand because this was off the charts in my book. We also tried the earl gray whiskey sour, which was light and delicious, and ended with the shrimp toast and the espresso martini. By the way the toast on the shrimp toast was like a little fried dough triangle -- sooooo gooood! The martini was good but the cold brew old fashioned really stole the spotlight for me. Other details I loved that just elevated the experience: Purse hook (very important to me), the little trays for your utensils, metal coasters, incredibly attentive servers, fantastic music, great ambiance and the cutest was the penny they put on top of your check. So cute -- was not expecting such an enjoyable all around experience!! Will be back 1000%!!!

To start, the menu is a bit puzzling. It's kind of like a handful of Asian-inspired dishes, a handful of Mexican/South American, and a handful of French or New American. But there's not enough of each to chart a course through one type of cuisine. So, basically you're gonna have a cultural melange meal. Hamachi crudo was really good and fairly unique. The halibut was excellently prepared but not particularly innovative in any way I could tell. Zucchini had goat cheese, which wasn't immediately clear from the description, so I didn't enjoy the rude surprise I got when I took my first bite, and didn't eat anymore, as I really despise the stuff. So that was a waste. Not a dig on the dish, just a personal thing I wish I had more notice of. There were other issues though. The wine list was exceptionally small, They were out of the bread, which is supposedly a must-try. And then we were going to get the steak but the folks next to us advised against it, showing their cut that had zero fat. They said it was leather. On that point, the tables are SUPER CLOSE. Like, a couple inches apart. You hear everything and almost can't avoid getting entwined into others' conversation. We liked the people we were next to, but be aware that it's an unintentionally awkward communal experience that's not well-suited to a date night. The service was pretty good, they put out a nice printed greeting with the reservation name, and give you a sparkling wine toast. But considering the price and overall experience we had, I'd pass and not come back.

We are fans of the local competitor and wanted to see how this one compared. TLDR: the other one is better! We each ordered the Famous Low Country Boil - mine with lemon pepper sauce and my daughter with the 88 Special, a combo of all the sauces. She went with no spice and I went with mild. We also ordered a bowl of rice. We did enjoy what we had but it seemed heavier than what we are used to. We were not big fans of the sausage mixed in and our service was fine, but not amazing. We were also disappointed that there were not scissors offered to help get the meat out of the crab / lobster - we really had to work for it! On a positive note, we did make good use of the wet wipes that were given to us as well as our bibs and gloves. It is quite a messy meal and note that I learned the hard way: don't wear white if you're planning on ordering any kind of seafood boil! Pricing is similar to the competitor. Ambiance is chill but not as fun. I would not rush back, but I also would return with reasonable expectations.

So, after searching up and down, I stumbled upon Nelson's. I came by for an early lunch. This location is a very small place, really only big enough for a few fridges full of meats/fish, as well as the counter itself. I came in, and I took a little bit to decide what I wanted from the menu, and settled on a shrimp salad sandwich and a half pound of salmon poke. Before, during, and after the ordering process, I feel like the gentleman behind the counter was a little cold and not wanting to talk to me much. It seemed like I was inconveniencing him, so I felt bad about that. For that reason, I didn't really try to make conversation. I hope his day got better! I took the food togo, of course, and I ate the shrimp sandwich first. The seasoning was really great, and the salad was really well balanced. Mayo, onions, chives, cabbage: everything was well-represented and nothing was overbearingly seasoned. Yummy sandwich! The bread was a little drier than I would have liked, but very minor. It also came with Zapp's chips! Always a plus in my book. The poke? Delicious. I get the price. It's expensive, but it's the middle of a desert in 115 degree weather. Great representation of salmon poke, and super well seasoned with pacific island flavors that are certainly reminiscent of the stuff you'd get on the island!
