Peter is an exceptional IT person who has that rare ability to be patient and educate, to be funny and efficient, honest and forthright. Peter was able to come over with very short notice when I was available, my old one died my new one arrived and I had to go out of town. I asked what he suggested, advising I wanted to transfer what was on the broken one over. Rather than come to see the broken one and then come back he said it would be better value to be there when all arrived, if that was acceptable. He arrived on time and prepared after a brief exchange of what my concerns were. He reviewed my systems and gave some suggestions, explained some new tech things I wasn't aware of was very generous about is time and his expertise. His rates are extremely reasonable, if you don't think so shop around you will see. Peter didn't try to sell me anything or talk over my head, he was clear, kind and extremely knowledgeable. Peter is not out to bilk you he is out to take care of you as an ongoing customer. I can tell you that I have a few pc's and gadgets and I will from know on use Peter exclusively for our home. I suggest that if you have any issues give him a call. He will come to you and let you know what can be done and even surpass what you expected. I needed to transfer a lap tops info that had died to a new one, he not only was able to do that but figured out that my old lap top was in deed fixable, he gave me two laptops for the price of time I expected only one it. Came in and completely explained our anti virus protection and will save us $250 while providing the needed protection. Also, got my wife's email tweaked to where she can save her old email. The guy is worth what he charges and then some. Here is an update: Peter is a very cordial guy but you have to be very careful because he charges by the minute for casual converation that he considers "educatIon". If you retain him, lay out EXACTLY what you want and have him do just that. I regret saying he is worth what he charged. My mistake. read more

I had a password problem with Microsoft login screen and Peter had a workaround . He explained about passwords and passkeys and how to use them to protect your information. 11 a.m. appointment. I call him at 11:15 and he says he should be there in a few more minutes. I call him at 11:45 and now he's just a few minutes away. So he arrived nearly an hour late for the appointment. He suggested that instead of reinstalling Windows 8.1 Pro that I just upgrade to Windows 10 and that I only need a Microsoft account and no registration key. After Windows 10 is installed once I mention running Windows update it prompts for a registration key. Did he lie or did he not know? Does it matter? Before that he deletes a partition on the drive that was about to be reformatted, instead of just formatting the partition I indicated. Since it was an SSD and I don't speak about what I don't KNOW, I didn't call him on it, but I researched it after and he lied about the partitions needing to be removed to format the drive. Separate partitions are treated as a separate drive and can be reformatted as such, even on a solid state drive. Did he lie or did he not know? Does it matter? When I asked him to let me put my password in for my Microsoft account, as soon as I was finished he clicked on the eye icon next to the text box which reveals the password while supposedly teaching me what that icon meant, which I already knew. He could have explained what it meant without actually clicking the icon. I immediately said "Seriously!?! I just input my password without telling you because I didn't want you to know it and the very first thing you do is click on the icon that shows the password!?!" Obviously that password has already been changed. He starts to download the Chrome browser and I ask him why he's doing that. He says to install a great third-party blocker add-on that impresses him, and that most people use Chrome. I say I don't use Chrome I use Firefox and his response is "I use Firefox." But after installing this add-on to Chrome does he then download Firefox and install the same add on (extension in firefox's case) to Firefox? No. Since he arrived nearly an hour late he offered to only charge me for one hour instead of the two hours time he spent. He also asked what I did for a living and then was in the beginning of insulting my job when I cut him off and went on to explain my job, which he was attempting to simplify and belittle, so that he now understood that it was actually far more complex then he understood. Likely his insult was his passive-aggressive arrogance trying to make himself feel better after he had failed time and time again. After we talked and it was obvious that I had more knowledge regarding computers and computer security then he assumed he tried to impress me by showing me SQRL. I told him I knew what it was and referenced a podcast so that he knew I knew. This guy has some skill and he may actually be able to fix your computer. However, his arrogant autopilot doesn't make him a very good objective observer or detective, which would likely also improve his customer service skills, so he's likely to not really do exactly what you want done, and maybe not even realize it after the fact. read more

As someone with prior computer building experience, but lacking in time to do so myself these days, Peter is the only person I would ever trust to both build and repair my computers. I have used his services twice now, once to install a new motherboard as part of a at-home installation and once to assemble a PC from scratch with provided parts at his location. In both instances, he was very helpful and communicative! I especially believe that privacy and prompt communication are important when handling someone personal computer, be it a repair job or assembling one for a client. In both instances Peter was professional and trustworthy with his work. He was also fast to reply to my (admittedly sometimes incessant!) status updates when he was assembling my new computer over the 2020 holiday season. I gave this shop generously 2 stars and only because he provided a minimal of service. An 85yo man Ray called me and his anti-virus program had disappeared or somehow erased. We found this shop listed in Yelp, it only had one review but since he was mobile the shop owner was called and he drove a few miles to Rays house. Ray did not have a working DVD drive so the tech used an external drive to reinstall norton360 after he used an anti-virus scanner he had on a USB stick before reinstalling Norton but he never tried to find out why Norton had disappeared in the first place, I suspect he doesn't have the skills to do deeper troubleshooting. Anyway..within a few days Ray had the exact same problem and called Peters and the guy was somewhat annoyed but promised Ray he would contact Norton and call Ray back with a solution..no call was ever made. He charged this 85yo man $160 for what was essentially a rudimentary computer scan and a reinstall of Rays Norton360 DVD. At the very least he should have returned Rays call especially since it was his "fix" that didn't work but overall he seems to lack customer service and and basically took advantage of a senior and certainly overcharged him for the little work he did. read more
