I started my search for a computer tech to refurbish / resurrect my laptop, but all the storefronts in Woodinville had closed down. The next closest place was My IT Gal in Bothell; she works out of her house, which is different than what most of us are used to, but it allows her to offer a nice $60 flat rate. She worked on my computer for a couple days and was able to diagnose and fix the problems I was having with my MOBO. One of the most impressive aspects of her work is her desire to go above and beyond the problem. Some other tech could have easily spent a couple hours to update my BIOS, etc and charged me $100, but she went through and cleaned out the fans/casing, installed all the windows updates, installed a few swag items to help with malware and updated all my drivers. Had some computer issues and wanted to take my PC to someone who could help. Did some research and found My IT Gal on Yelp. I e-mailed her around 10pm and she got back to me within minutes and within the next 30 minutes we had a time setup for me to drop off my computer. Best thing is she's open on the weekends, which many aren't. She had my computer and did all sorts of testing and updates and generally just cleaned it up. I needed to have a power supply replaced on my father-in-law's computer, and although I've got 25+ years in IT myself, I did not have the time to do the repair myself this time. So I contacted Lori and dropped the machine off last week. She ordered the part and replaced it very promptly (although a power failure this past weekend didn't help!) I picked up the machine today and she had also done some updates on the machine. The price for the work was very fair -- she essentially sold the part at what I would have paid for it from Amazon or Fry's -- and her labor cost was reasonable. All in all, a very good experience. My computer was consistently overheating when playing games. Although I can do the work myself, I don't like working with hardware. I stated the issue and Lori immediately knew several things to check. I also wanted my case replaced, but Lori wanted to confirm a few things before going that route, which I was fine with. * Lori cleaned and replaced the gel between the CPU and heatsink since it was worn away. * After seeing why I wanted a new case, she ordered the case and swapped the guts of my machine to the new case. When I was overwhelmed by the number of choices, she helped me narrow it down based on her research. * Ordered and installed memory for me at my request. * Ordered and installed a USB 3.0 card since I only had 2.0. I've had it home for several months now and haven't had any issues. On top of that, through the whole process, Lori was very friendly and encouraging. DO NOT GO TO LAURIE!!!! Worse customer service ever. So I took my laptop in to get an SSD Drive installed and I got it back with a broken part on my keyboard, she broke a clip that holds my keyboard down. When I called her about it she was very defensive and rude; she started yelling at me and using profanity and then hung up the phone on me. Then called me back and said you are pissing me and accusing me of breaking your laptop. I told her " looking im not accusing you of anything, my keyboard was perfectly fine before you had my laptop and now its broken". SHE STATED THAT SHE WOULD NOT REPLACE THE PARTS SHE BROKE. That to me is no way to run a business!! HORRIBLE SERVICE! read more

Our laptop was completely locked up and we could not get it to work properly.....we knew it must have some type of virus. Lori was recommended and we are so pleased with the outcome. My laptop had a hard drive failure. She ordered a new hard drive and fully recovered all of my data and pictures perfectly. She re-installed everything quickly and at a very reasonable price. Then, the next week I left for Arizona to visit my daughter. I was so pleased with what she did with my laptop, I brought my daughter's laptop back for her to repair. It had a virus. Laurie is great! Several years ago I watched some episodes of Boardwalk Empire on a 'free' website. Big mistake! Viruses made a mess of my pix and documents and barred me from Windows updates. Couldn't figure out how to repair the mess. Enter Laurie. Debugged my computer and even fixed the stubborn updates issue, doing some homework and returning for a second repair visit.
