This is our second time using Peter Ferraro Moving & Storage for a home move. We could not have been more pleased with the professionalism from start to finish. PJ first came oneiste to provide an estimate and answered all our questions. They were able to fit us in with short notice which was very much appreciated. On moving day, their team arrived on time and quickly assessed and went right to work. They were polite and professional and answered any questions we had along the way. Unless you can lock in Ed to do your move, don't use Ferraro and sons. Especially the son! One of the crew even had the audacity to take an alcoholic wine cooler from my fridge and drink it, proceeded to sit in the stairs after every trip down the steps. No wonder it cost me an addition grand! Peter came and did my estimate for the 4th move I used him for from East Rutherford to Forked River. Long story short the move cost me $1000.00 more than what was estimated and they damaged two pieces of furniture. Took the truck over 5 hours to get to my new house when it took me and another car only 2.5 and they left my East Rutherford condo over an hour and a half ahead of me. When they finally showed up they had a new guy on the truck and fresh tshirts on. Peter the owner never returned my phone calls. One star is the best I could give Ferraro & Sons and only because of Ed. Call Booth and ask for Adam. I reviewed this company in 2015, having no experience with one of the sons, Lip Ferraro. Prior experiences were extremely favorable. However, based on last years experience, and today's Facebook interaction, I would NOT recommend this company now. This review is going to be biased due to the rudeness of 1 contractor from Peter Ferraro and the overcharging of fees. First of all, I was moving just down the street. I had contacted 3 movers, out of which Peter was the most responsive with providing us a Quote. Till the date of movement, they were very responsive with the front desk (Joanne) getting the insurance documentation for both my buildings. Context : The only items we need to be moved was a King Bed, Mattress, Sofa, Dining table and Entertainment Unit. We had packed, wrapped all our other items into 10 Boxes. Since the move was just across the street the Quote was for 3.5 hrs and additional hr for travel. My main issue was with the contractors who came in - One of them was downright rude and was mocking us, complaining about the items all through the movement. After 5 hours in the move, this guy refuses to load my entertainment unit into the elevator saying, that I need to load them ?? I could not take this nonsense anymore and called Peter. To his credit, peter came immediately to the place and sorted this out. Finally after the entire move, I was charged for 5 hours and ended up with 100$ more than the initial estimate The silver linings - I got all my items moved, without any issues and the king bed was reassembled. No damages to speak of. Bottom line : Personally, I found Peter and his front staff very professional. But the contractors were a hit-or-miss read more

I recently moved from Bergen County to Warren County (about an hour away) & used this moving company. 4 guys showed up promptly @8:30 am and were quick to get to work. One guy who was the lead guy did a walk-through first to confirm what they were taking, etc. I personally moved my own pictures, TV's, & lamps. They removed the shade from two floor standing lamps and moved those. My bedroom set had scratches on it that I had caused years ago & the lead guy noted it and took pictures of anything with a scratch before moving. They laid down runners and covered the hardwood stairs at my new place when moving everything in. All in all I was pleased with the work and had no problems using this company. There is no price too high to pay for great movers. Forget all the horror stories. These guys will show up with a crew of 4 or 5 guys and knock it out. They take apart and put back everything that they need to. We were happy when they put back our bedframe and dining room table without issues. Best Moving Company Ever! This company is so organized, polite, prepared and careful with your stuff. My experience. My parents we're selling their house and gave us an entire house of furniture, however we just had an apartment. This company came to their house 100 miles away and packed all of their furniture with the precision of a surgeon. They then stored it for 1.5 years (at a reasonable rate) and today they moved it into our new house. I was blow away by Peter Jr and his crew today. They were so careful with the furniture, protected my house and gently moved all of our stuff so quickly. The guys were nice, they were clean with my home and felt like I was dealing with total pros. My family hired Ferraro & Sons to help move my grandmother into an assisted living facility, which requires everyone entering to be tested for COVID. The movers point blank refused to comply with health and safety standards, thus rendering us incapable of completing the move. Managers had to be called in so that the move could be finished, which delayed the process severely. If you value the health and safety of your loved ones, avoid this company at all costs. I am absolutely appalled by their lack of care and customer service. read more

We used Peter Ferraro & Sons to move our furniture from one house to another in the same town. But, our move was complicated because some of our furniture had to be hoisted into the second floor through the window. Peter and his team worked super fast, were very careful and extremely efficient at getting everything done without any damage! Some of our pieces were very heavy and expensive but it was no problem at all for them. I couldn't believe how they wrapped each piece and protected them with blankets. Used these guys 2 weeks ago. I had to give 4 stars only because they showed up 30 mins later than our scheduled appointment time but they were GREAT!! They brought probably the biggest truck I've ever seen and were extremely professional. They had every moving tool imaginable and handled my furniture with the utmost care. They even made an extra stop at my request and still finished withing the estimated completion time.I even had access to the owner, Peter, throughout the process. The son, Peter Ferraro and his crew were exceptional in every way--moving, efficiency, easy going, care in handling items, and expertise. Genuinely nice people. The one big negative is the personality of the owner, the father Peter Ferraro. Once you sign on the dotted line, watch out--any changes we requested due to unforseen circumstances were met with a hostile, bullying attitude--it's his way or the highway. Forget the custormer first idea. He also complained when we completed a lot of the prep work ourselves, because he lost anticipated income. Trust me, this is the only moving company you will ever need! First impressions matter and having the owner himself come to do the estimate for my Ridgewood to Mahwah move was impressive. Where other companies' estimates included 2 men and an 8 hour estimate, Mr. Ferraro's estimate was a 4 man crew and 4 hours and I could be the first move of the day. Phil and his crew arrived early and were amazing - very professional, pleasant, efficient and hard working. Everything was done in a little less than four hours including a walk through both at the beginning and the very end. There was zero breakage; all my furniture was in the exact same condition as before the move and I gained 4 hours back in my day to start unpacking. The estimate was very competitive, in fact less than the others I received and there were no hidden fees or surprises. I honestly felt I was in safe and trusted hands throughout the whole process. I didn't even get to the point of booking - I had a few questions about the invoice that was passed along, one of them pertaining to the travel/distance of going from one location to the other. The owner was beyond RUDE and degrading when I was asking my questions. I couldn't even get to any of my other questions since I was so taken back by how I was being spoken to. I will say, the woman I initially spoke with was very nice and helpful. I wish I could say the same for the owner. This was my first time hiring movers. I did a ton of research especially on BBB. Well I have come to realize that eventhough these companies are accredited doesn't mean they are good. I was going to go with one company since the price was cheap, luckily I found mymovingreviews.com and saw horrible reviews. Then I found Peter Ferraro Moving. I was happy that Peter the owner was able to come to my apartment the next day on such short notice to give me an accurate estimate. Not a lot of places do this, so be aware that they may scam you. I had a really great impression when meeting Peter. He was very honest, he warned me of other businesses that scam their customers. Peter let me know that this is a family run business since his grandfather first started it. So they make sure they maintain a positive imagine and not scam their customers. On the day of the move, one of the guys called to let me know they were on their way 15 minutes before their estimated arrival time. They were 4 tall skinny guys, I was amazed on how strong they are. They were very careful packing and handling my furniture and delicate boxes. I was very impressed that a 4 hour job was done in 3 hours. And may I add that it was like almost 100' degrees out, not an easy job. The work ended up costing me about $80 cheaper than what was estimated. All and all I am very happy that I made the right decision by trusting Peter Ferraro Moving. I would recommend their services to anyone! read more

Look how long it took for this gentleman to reply about his business. I moved on Feb. 6th it's now May. Maybe the owner Peter himself should have spoken to me instead of hiding behind his employees. The only thing about his reply was I tipped his workers because it's the right thing to do! I paid for extra insurance and all I heard was I had to pay another 500.00 after destroying two bedroom sets. No one wanted to clean the carpet or resolve the issues. Let me quote " this stuff happens oh well". The final conclusion to this is the employees messed up lied to there owner so probably no one got fired and it cost me more money to replace furniture and can't replace family heirlooms.
