They are terrible. They scheduled me for 2:30 to have my dog groomed. I arrived at 2:30 waited in line until 2:40, then they said they were too busy Ans because I was late they wouldn't take my dog. After I mentioned that I was waiting in line for all that time. They changed their tune and said he was booked at 2, not 2:30. It's just not true. I booked the appointment and scheduled it my calendar. I repeated it before I got off of the phone to make sure we had the correct time. They gave me trouble when I was booking and again now. Terrible customer service. Will never be back. Go to pet smart up the road. Much better customer service. This place is a complete waste of time.

This store had nothing I was looking for. Although the staff greeted me upon entering they had nothing my pitboxer could use. They didn't have bigger Tuffy items, in which he adores. They had medium sized kong balls not large. So out the door we went.

I went in to have my dog's nails trimmed, this takes about 10 minutes to do. So in the past I have had no issues with being turned away due to lack of staffing, dog adoptions taking place, or being at capacity in the groomers but this was different. Today I went in and the woman behind the groomers counter advised me that I now need an appointment due to COVID, this is news to me. I pleaded with her, telling her the difficulties I have had getting down there in the first place, she says there is no way she can assist, her next appointment will be there any minute. My poor pup needs it worse than normal due to COVID in the first place and for those of you who have dogs, you know you cannot take them anywhere, you need the rabies paperwork which I don't have on hand, it's on file at Petco. 10 yrs plus - I have been coming here buying all my pet toys, pet food, and grooming - never again. I waited to see when her next appointment got there and she could have done two dogs in that time, so either she is the worst pet groomer on the planet or was just lazy. The entire time I was in the store she just sat there, doing nothing, making eye contact with me as I looked into the empty grooming area. This employee lacked compassion, empathy, and common sense. She obviously does not care about animals given her cold demeanor and the way she brushed me off and stared me down while I waited in the store. Not sure how the appointment protects anyone, I still walked into the tiny grooming area, spent 5-10 mins discussing the situation with this useless employee. I would suggest this policy be reevaluated and would also suggest they communicate these changes to all of their regular customers instead of turning them away. Or maybe they squeeze them in when they can? Even on Yelp- it says "in person visits" with no comment for appointment only.

I got 2 guinea pigs, and both of them are supposed to be boys, but one of them was a woman and they had three babies. They lied to us.

After having my dog a few months, I began to notice undesirable behaviors that I wanted to work on with a professional trainer. I listed these behaviors and weighed the options of a group class vs. in home training. Jim focuses on positive reinforcement training which is very appealing to me. Jim has a very reasonable starter package of 3 lessons. He came out for an evaluation of Alibi first. Since starting her lessons, my dog has developed significantly and my ability to control her has increased as well. After working with Jim, you can tell he has a genuine passion for what he does and that he basically understands and loves dogs. My Rottie loves him too. I would highly recommend Jim O'Neil at Great Dog! I have not been disappointed with my choice. He responds to his emails promptly.

In a 1 hour session, our 4 legged friend went from lunging and barking at Jim in front of the house to politely asking for and taking treats, off-leash, inside the house. Jim shared with my with husband and I a wealth of information that we can use to continue our training in his absence. While we will likely book another appointment to extend the training, Jim was not at all pushy about additional sessions. All around, a fantastic experience. Highly recommended!

Dear yelp, This…read moreISN'T a "fake review". Contact me directly if you have doubts as to the validity of my review. I am offended by this practice. You should reach out to the reviewer before you effect a business owner in a negative way. AND AGAIN: Every once in a while you make a decision on blind faith and it pays off BIG TIME. We rescued a 12 week old puppy from Texas and quickly learned we needed pro help as we haven't been puppy parents for 20 years and this little girl was a nutjob and may have been heading down a bad path behavior wise. Kristin got right back to me after my initial web page inquiry. When she arrived, she was relaxed and professional and her kind, caring, genuine personality was obvious from the start. She CARES about our furbaby. Her training skills were so effective even from the initial consultation that this little pup was learning: come, sit, shake and down (heel) and most important to us was her going in her crate when asked as this is something we really want her to master and be comfortable with. Kristin made it known that our role is crucial in her training and gave us handouts for our homework and skills to be met. By the second session, our pupper was learning: "touch" (snoot boops), learning to jump into her bed and "leave it" (biting stuff) and stay. We are able to redirect the evening zoomy/crazy time with physical and mental workouts for her that is good for all of us. The entire time during these sessions, Kristin is upbeat, fun and it really feels like we've known her forever. We trust her to do the best thing for all of us. I'm so happy we connected with her. I am excited for the future of what this little doggo is going to learn, master and how her confidence is going to grow. You cannot go wrong choosing her to help with your furkids. Thank you Kristin!!

The orientation, which cost nearly $50, felt like a waste of time. I was treated like a beginner and walked through the basics of how to use a clicker and give a dog a treat. I understand people need instruction, but this could've easily been covered in 10 minutes, especially for someone who has common sense. The bigger issue, however, is their 60-day expiration policy on class packages. I only got to attend two classes before my package "expired" on December 9th. I reached out on December 30th after being unable to sign up for a class and was told that they only extend passes for medical reasons (illness or injury). When I asked if they could extend my package by 60 days (since I clearly missed the fine print), I was essentially told no. Instead, they offered me the option to pay more money to upgrade to a "Great Dog Flex Pass." Here's the kicker: I was trying to sign up for classes, but many were already booked 2-3 weeks out, and the remaining spots were only available if someone canceled, with 24-hour notice. So, with a busy schedule it is tough to plan around that. When I asked for an extension I was told "Our expiration dates are clearly stated on the website and displayed by our scheduling system each time you sign up for a class." Fine, but if you're running a small local business, wouldn't you want to keep a customer coming back, especially after they've already spent so much money with you? I was just looking for a little understanding and flexibility, but instead, I felt like I was being nickel-and-dimed. Very disappointed with my experience and will not be returning. If you're looking for a place that values its customers and operates with a little empathy, I suggest looking elsewhere.

Hard to believe it's been over a year and a half since our beagle Wally left Crossbones but this…read morereview is long overdue- Crossbones is an amazing and worthwhile investment for your puppy. I am a first time dog owner and I was very anxious about training when I first got my dog. Puppy day school helped train Wally and conferences/classes also helped train me. Wally was at Crossbones for about 3 months, August-October 2022. The investment lasts far long after the program ends. Wally remains a well socialized, well mannered, well trained little guy. Walks great on a leash, loves his crate, is neutral with other dogs, no separation anxiety, I could go on forever. Every time we have people over or bring him somewhere, people say "you have such a polite dog". We really do! And like I said, the program and these classes are built around training the owner as well. You could realistically attend their classes without your dog and still get the same benefit by implementing everything you learn at home. We have several friends with new puppies- I've been able to help a lot and offer advice based on everything I've learned. Of course I always recommend Crossbones :) but being able to help on my own and people seeking out my advice is a great feeling too! If you're on the fence and it's in your budget- it is worth it! We don't regret a thing!

She knew one of the other dogs in class, and…read morethe two of them were very aroused and wanted to say hello, which understandably is not allowed during a group training class. My puppy spent much of the class barking, and it was frustrating. The trainer separated the other dog into another room at one point and also tried using a wall as a barrier, but I did not feel there were many suggestions for how to handle the situation or help us make progress. The trainer herself was unable to help the situation, which did not instill confidence. I spoke with the trainer after the first couple of sessions because I did not feel like I was getting much out of the classes and my puppy was barking through most of them. After that conversation, I was essentially told it was not working to have my puppy in the class and that we should not continue. I asked for a partial refund, but one was not provided. They would not budge on that, even though we were being asked not to come back. After some back and forth, I was offered a private session, but my dog then had health problems that prevented us from training for a period of time. Ultimately, I decided not to go back. There is also judgment around people who use e-fences. I was told they would not even do private training with a dog that has an e-fence at home, which I do. In my conversations with employees, I was not offered best practices for people who already have e-fences, only disapproval. The space itself is nice for a small group setup, and it is clean. My dog and I are working toward AKC Canine Good Citizen and eventual therapy dog certification, so I have stayed consistent with training and have had better experiences elsewhere, including NK Petco and Mischief Managed. When I explained the scenario of the dogs being aroused in class to trainers at these other facilities they offered a list of solutions and things to try that worked.
