I always head to PetSmart for all of our family's pet needs. We recently brought home two adorable bearded dragons (Sauna & Vader) for Christmas and stopped in tonight to pick up some baby crickets for them. An associate by the name of Kyle helped us and he was extremely kind and knowledgeable. He gave us some great tips and made sure we left with everything we needed. We will be back soon for sure!

Waiting patiently to be groomed!

Definitely a one stop shop. All Petsmarts are similar in the products they sell, however the people who work there are different at each location (obviously, right?). I have found the best groomer ever in Cheryl!! She is so nice and caring and definitely looks out for your/your dog's best interest. My dog really isn't the biggest fan of going to the groomers but she makes it bearable for him and shows him plenty of love in the process! I highly recommend her if you're in need of a groomer!

Magestic, one of the kitties from PARL available for adoption!

This is my go-to big box pet store for pretty much anything and everything. They really do have everything, and at pretty decent prices. My cats like crystal litter, and this store usually has 4-5 different kinds that I can choose from, which is unheard of anywhere else. At least one of them is on sale every time I go. The selection of food is very good too. They have pretty much all of the mainstream brands, as well as a decent organic selection. They have literally 1/2 an aisle of JUST cat treats... it's amazing. Another thing I really like is that they carry GNC pets products. My cats get eye discharge so they need vitamins with lysene, and they have so many options to choose from! Powder, paste, treats, capsules, jee whiz! My mom has a cat with urinary tract problems who is super picky, but she loves the GNC chicken treats for urinary health. They make REALLY good products. The people that work here are very nice, and do an awesome job of keeping the store clean. This place is always spotless. But my favorite favorite thing about Petsmart is that they do not sell cats and dogs. Instead, they partner with local shelters and offer animals for adoption. Once a month or so, they will also host adoption events where they have cats, critters, and sometimes dogs. As you can see from my photos, I volunteer weekly to feed/clean up after the cats from PARL that are up for adoption at Petsmart and let them out of their cages for some exercise. Their system is really great, and both Petsmart and PARL work hard to match these cats with the right family for them.

After having my dog a few months, I began to notice undesirable behaviors that I wanted to work on with a professional trainer. I listed these behaviors and weighed the options of a group class vs. in home training. Jim focuses on positive reinforcement training which is very appealing to me. Jim has a very reasonable starter package of 3 lessons. He came out for an evaluation of Alibi first. Since starting her lessons, my dog has developed significantly and my ability to control her has increased as well. After working with Jim, you can tell he has a genuine passion for what he does and that he basically understands and loves dogs. My Rottie loves him too. I would highly recommend Jim O'Neil at Great Dog! I have not been disappointed with my choice. He responds to his emails promptly.

While we will likely book another appointment to extend the training, Jim was not at all pushy about additional sessions. All around, a fantastic experience. Highly recommended!

The orientation, which cost nearly $50, felt like a waste of time. I was treated like a beginner and walked through the basics of how to use a clicker and give a dog a treat. I understand people need instruction, but this could've easily been covered in 10 minutes, especially for someone who has common sense. The bigger issue, however, is their 60-day expiration policy on class packages. I only got to attend two classes before my package "expired" on December 9th. I reached out on December 30th after being unable to sign up for a class and was told that they only extend passes for medical reasons (illness or injury). When I asked if they could extend my package by 60 days (since I clearly missed the fine print), I was essentially told no. Instead, they offered me the option to pay more money to upgrade to a "Great Dog Flex Pass." Here's the kicker: I was trying to sign up for classes, but many were already booked 2-3 weeks out, and the remaining spots were only available if someone canceled, with 24-hour notice. So, with a busy schedule it is tough to plan around that. When I asked for an extension I was told "Our expiration dates are clearly stated on the website and displayed by our scheduling system each time you sign up for a class." Fine, but if you're running a small local business, wouldn't you want to keep a customer coming back, especially after they've already spent so much money with you? I was just looking for a little understanding and flexibility, but instead, I felt like I was being nickel-and-dimed. Very disappointed with my experience and will not be returning. If you're looking for a place that values its customers and operates with a little empathy, I suggest looking elsewhere.

I am a first time dog owner and I was very anxious about training when I first got my dog. Puppy day school helped train Wally and conferences/classes also helped train me. Wally was at Crossbones for about 3 months, August-October 2022. The investment lasts far long after the program ends. Wally remains a well socialized, well mannered, well trained little guy. Walks great on a leash, loves his crate, is neutral with other dogs, no separation anxiety, I could go on forever. Every time we have people over or bring him somewhere, people say "you have such a polite dog". We really do! And like I said, the program and these classes are built around training the owner as well. You could realistically attend their classes without your dog and still get the same benefit by implementing everything you learn at home. We have several friends with new puppies- I've been able to help a lot and offer advice based on everything I've learned. Of course I always recommend Crossbones :) but being able to help on my own and people seeking out my advice is a great feeling too! If you're on the fence and it's in your budget- it is worth it! We don't regret a thing!

You should reach out to the reviewer before you effect a business owner in a negative way. AND AGAIN: Every once in a while you make a decision on blind faith and it pays off BIG TIME. We rescued a 12 week old puppy from Texas and quickly learned we needed pro help as we haven't been puppy parents for 20 years and this little girl was a nutjob and may have been heading down a bad path behavior wise. Kristin got right back to me after my initial web page inquiry. When she arrived, she was relaxed and professional and her kind, caring, genuine personality was obvious from the start. She CARES about our furbaby. Her training skills were so effective even from the initial consultation that this little pup was learning: come, sit, shake and down (heel) and most important to us was her going in her crate when asked as this is something we really want her to master and be comfortable with. Kristin made it known that our role is crucial in her training and gave us handouts for our homework and skills to be met. By the second session, our pupper was learning: "touch" (snoot boops), learning to jump into her bed and "leave it" (biting stuff) and stay. We are able to redirect the evening zoomy/crazy time with physical and mental workouts for her that is good for all of us. The entire time during these sessions, Kristin is upbeat, fun and it really feels like we've known her forever. We trust her to do the best thing for all of us. I'm so happy we connected with her. I am excited for the future of what this little doggo is going to learn, master and how her confidence is going to grow. You cannot go wrong choosing her to help with your furkids.
