I'm sure this place is fine for buying pet products, but I can't say I recommend the grooming. Not terrible, but not good either. They don't try very hard to trim nails. If your dog is not a saint, then they don't try citing the dog may hurt themselves... but of course they still want to charge you the full fee, which is ridiculous. $39 for what equates to a bath, brush (mind you I brush my dog daily, so there are no obstacles there) and dry. Won't be back. Now I have to drag my dog to the vet for the nail trim at additional cost. If they don't have all the equipment for grooming then they shouldn't offer all services. They should have a grooming sling or "hammock" to lift large dogs for nail trims, but it appears they do not. read more

I always head to PetSmart for all of our family's pet needs. We recently brought home two adorable bearded dragons (Sauna & Vader) for Christmas and stopped in tonight to pick up some baby crickets for them. An associate by the name of Kyle helped us and he was extremely kind and knowledgeable. He gave us some great tips and made sure we left with everything we needed. Dog grooming sucked. They did a HORRIFIC job on one of my dogs and then started my senior dog and stopped grooming because they said she was "squirmy". Could not possibly recommend any less. read more

I brought my puppy to this location for a groom- this was her 3rd time getting groomed and she was very matted-I knew she going to have to be shaved down. I was a little worried about taking her to a "chain" but was quickly surprised by the groomer who was handling her that day. The groomer, Sandy was very knowledgeable about my dog's breed and hair type. She was very understanding about her matting (after going for an ocean swim) and took an hour and a half gently getting the mats out before shaving her down. It cost a little extra, but I felt like my pup was in great hands for this job! Sandy was professional and understanding and really seemed like she loved my dog! Signed up for a puppy training class with Jen. First class, the trainer allowed a large 80lb+ into the class who was clearly not a puppy. The trainer kept saying "oh I keep forgetting what comes next." The next 3 classes were cancelled due to the trainer needing to call out of work. I got a refund but the manager made me come into the store which was pretty tacky. Then they called me apologizing that another class was being cancelled and offered me a refund when I already got one. I didn't take it because I'm not a scum bag but I hope they can get more organized or have a back up trainer. read more

Definitely a one stop shop. All Petsmarts are similar in the products they sell, however the people who work there are different at each location (obviously, right?). I have found the best groomer ever in Cheryl!! She is so nice and caring and definitely looks out for your/your dog's best interest. My dog really isn't the biggest fan of going to the groomers but she makes it bearable for him and shows him plenty of love in the process! Simple They have all of your pet supplies here. They do get you with the prices, but that is the price of convenience. This particular store is very clean and the staff is very helpful. I like how they now have the vet right in the store, grooming too. I'm a PetSmart fan, but every time I go in it costs me at least 50-100 bucks and lets not mention the vet. My last review was 5 stars and so is this one. I came into the store knowing exactly what I wanted, I needed mulch for my rabbit , but I had no idea what isle it was on, so I ran into a store associate named Ricardo. He was so helpful and nice and he went above and beyond to help me. He showed me what isle my stuff was on, and I saw a price that didn't look like it was correct the item was originally 16.99 but it said on sale for 1.98 , so I asked and he checked for me, I was so excited I went to grab a carriage and cleared out the whole rack. Ricardo put each mulch into the carriage for me I ended up getting 5 of them and he told me he would double check and make sure there's none in the back, and if so I could have those as well. He did indeed check but I had all the ones they had in stock. It was the smile and help he gave me that made me so happy, and I'm glad he went above and beyond and sincerely wanted to help he even said if there's any issues at the register let them know he said we already spoke and the price was indeed right, I appreciate this because so many times you go to stores and they have a price and it's marked wrong and they argue with you and don't want to price adjust it, but when I went to the register no issues at all. The lady at the front was really nice as well , very pleasant all smiles and took her time with each customer and didn't rush us along I didn't catch her name sadly. This store is always so clean and even though it's a pet store it's never loud or rowdy in here, which makes it good for bringing your pets in here knowing they won't have anxiety from commotion. read more

I usually go here for my dog and fish supplies. Prices are good and staff is friendly. However I wanted to grab a couple of small comet goldfish and noticed the terrible condition of their tank. There were many dead goldfish floating at the top and a ridiculous amount of poop at the bottom. Made me not want to make a purchase and go elsewhere. read more

I brought my recently rescued pup Rhody here for a groom. I had a coupon for 50% off bath so I figured I'd give it a shot. I also scheduled nail grinding. Check in was a breeze. Heather was our groomer. She was really nice and Rhody seemed to like her too. She called when he was ready. I really liked that they give you a report after. She noted that his teeth were not brushed because they didn't need it and anal glands not cleaned, same reason. I kind of wished she lied since it was included. I don't blame her for not expressing anal glands - gross. He smelled slightly of tangerine. When we got home my husband was petting him and got hives. He is allergic and typically after bathing he can handle him with no issues. I usually bring him to self groom and use a shampoo that neutralizes allergens. I did however get the basic groom so perhaps next time I will upgrade and he will get a more thorough groom. She did a great job grinding his nails. They were nice and smooth, not too short. Overall it was a good experience. Prices are very reasonable and staff is friendly. I made another appointment for the end of April (included upgraded skin care bath) so I'll be sure to update then. read more

If you have a dog that chews right through things, do not buy the toys for "tough chewers" which I was told by a staff member that they are "indestructible"....meanwhile, my Shepard destroyed the toy in record time. On top of being wrong about the product the staff there is completely miserable and my check out process was horrendous. If I could rate this place even lower I would. Walked out tonight without buying anything for the last time. Everything about the store is fine but good luck getting checked out! Every single time there's always only one person on the registers and many employees sitting or stand around pretending to be stocking shelf's and looking useful. I literally stood in line tonight for 15 mins because the lady in front of me couldn't get her coupon to go through. No one else came to help or open another register. This happens all the time so I finally said I'm all set and walked out. I will not be back. Went to petco in garden city and had a fine experience so it's worth the extra 10 min drive. Don't bother coming to PetSmart unless you have all the time in the world to waste. I won't waste my time or money here ever again. This is my go-to big box pet store for pretty much anything and everything. They really do have everything, and at pretty decent prices. My cats like crystal litter, and this store usually has 4-5 different kinds that I can choose from, which is unheard of anywhere else. At least one of them is on sale every time I go. The selection of food is very good too. They have pretty much all of the mainstream brands, as well as a decent organic selection. They have literally 1/2 an aisle of JUST cat treats... it's amazing. Another thing I really like is that they carry GNC pets products. My cats get eye discharge so they need vitamins with lysene, and they have so many options to choose from! Powder, paste, treats, capsules, jee whiz! My mom has a cat with urinary tract problems who is super picky, but she loves the GNC chicken treats for urinary health. They make REALLY good products. The people that work here are very nice, and do an awesome job of keeping the store clean. This place is always spotless. But my favorite favorite thing about Petsmart is that they do not sell cats and dogs. Instead, they partner with local shelters and offer animals for adoption. Once a month or so, they will also host adoption events where they have cats, critters, and sometimes dogs. As you can see from my photos, I volunteer weekly to feed/clean up after the cats from PARL that are up for adoption at Petsmart and let them out of their cages for some exercise. So I went to this PetSmart in Johnston lastnight with my four year old daughter. We go there for little outings because she enjoys seeing all the animals.., we decided to stop and look at the fishes for awhile. Imabsolutely appalled in the look of the big fish tanks with living fish in yhem. Two tanks right next to each other both had multiple dead fish in them. I wish I took more pics. My daughter couldn't understand why they are still in the tank when they are dead. Some of them were suppose to be I believe rose gold minnows . And they have been dead for along time because a lot of them where not even rose colored anymore with black eyes they were like grey colored with white eyes. Called today to complain and she said well we clean the tanks twice a day but im sorry that is absolute bull shit. Fish are animals tooo. Imagine what they do to the dogs and cats. read more

There are many people out there that love what they do and you can tell she does. She takes the time to individualize each training program and answers all our questions with kindness. I am writing this review for the Grooming services - Although not sure how anyone else here is, but it's for Erika (Erica? I don't remember the spelling) - she has dark curly hair, loves big dogs. Unfortunately I was told she no longer bathes them, so I had to find a new groomer, but she's amazing, and deserves recognition. Erica has been my dog's groomer for approximately 2 years - I would travel a long a$$ distance just for her. She loved Albi, Albi loved her. They developed a trusting relationship, and no matter how much he got nervous going there, he would come out with this full, vibrant happy energy that was contagious. She would let me know what he would give her "problems" with - mind you, Albi doesn't bite/growl... just starts trying to pull away or avoid the scene... and Erica pulled through and made sure the job got done. She also made sure to take special care with special shampoo just for him. She fully understood the breed, his schutzhund training... I loved her. Erica was, after all the hard work I put in into trying to find the best groomer (and finding out that it was at a local Petsmart), an angel. She made the whole process worth it, and I never minded leaving her large tips - she took care of my baby the best way possible. Hip, hip, hooray for Erica! Can I rate this place a zero! Stay far away from this Petsmart! Booked my two dogs a week in advance, wanted a Monday appointment but Tuesday was only available so I took it. Showed up on time only to find 7 people waiting, four in the drop off area. After waiting 10 minutes went in to drop off area desk to let them know I had a 12:30 appointment they explained other people were waiting...... oh so why do we have appointments why overbooking why understaffed why the rudeness why would I leave my dog with incompetent people?????? All these questions ran through my head. The woman explained to me that my appointment was the day before, I said no it was not because the staff member booking the appointment said that Monday was not available. From there there was no accommodations to be made for me on my behalf so I explained it was horrible customer service and wrong and left I will not return I will not give them any of my business ever again. I called to make a formal complaint and had an email returned condescending me and telling me they would give me 10% off each dog and personally book my next appointment so there was no confusion. It seems like people either love or hate this place. I'm in between. I find it pricey but maybe that's because I usually shop on amazon for my pet needs and it's tough to beat their prices. The store is neat clean and organized and it's easy to find what your looking for. The selection of all things pet is pretty huge and you have lots of choices. They have a pet perks card and it's worth signing up because it makes the prices reasonable. The staff is not overly friendly and I was not greeted or asked if I needed help finding anything even though I was in there for a while. I made an appointment for my dog to be groomed, the appointment was cancelled and rescheduled on the phone. It was cancelled because their staff was sick, it happens no big deal. I show up on the day and time I was rescheduled for and they don't have my appointment. I explained to them my dog is having surgery the next day and I'm having surgery the following week, so I really wanted to get this done. Unfortunately they were of no help only telling me their next appointment available was a few days later. I booked my appointment days in advance and days after it was cancelled I'm still waiting for my dog to be groomed. Because they forgot to reschedule my appointment in their system. I have had the worst experience with this store. I bought puppy socialization classes that NEVER happened. The day this classes were supposed to happen I called 1 hour earlier and they told me that the class was cancelled, and that I could wait for the next week because they will start normally. I waited one more week and when I called back an hour before the class started to make sure everything was ok, they told me the classes were cancelled. I've been waiting for this classes for a long time, and my puppy have not had any socialization because I was counting on this. I cannot understand how irresponsible this store is that they do not have another trainer available to substitute a trainer with an emergency. If the previous week the trainer couldn't make it, why didn't you make a plan for the next week? According to the store SHE QUIT TODAY. So PETSMART is so unreliable that a trainer quits the SAME DAY??? I cannot believe the level of irresponsibility and lack of commitment with your customers and our dogs. Don't waste your time,!!! I had an appointment to get my dog groomed. Got there, was told that she was going to cost $52 not 40 as was quotes over phone. Ok, then she says that she wouldn't be able to groom my puppy like a Yorkie, that she is but like a terrier, ok. Then, while My dog was being attempted to be groomed I stood and watched her to make sure she would be ok. Since I had heard frightening stories. Well the women couldn't even hook the collar on their table stand correctly, she kept on pulling at my puppy's neck, finally realized that she needed to lower the hook. Dah, small 10 pound dog. Then after having already frightened the puppy she takes the buzzards, and instantly begins to try to work on her legs. Not more than two times attempting to do this, she signaled me in and said that she wouldn't be able to groom her since she wouldn't stay still. Dah, my dog is the calmest puppy I have ever owned. But seriously if you frighten the puppy, and don't know how to work with animals, Then you shouldn't be working as a pet groomer. read more

I can't express my anger enough towards petsmart I would rate this a zero because they are prejudiced towards dogs with Lyme disease. I have a 8 pound Morkie. I had made an appointment back in October and I'm still upset about this. My dog is 3 years old & had all antibiotics to treat Lyme disease that something that never goes away you can't deny a dog because of that, they took out a binder full of notes they couldn't even find where it said that they couldn't treat dogs with Lyme disease. The groomers were very rude with people hence why they probably work with dogs but if there anything how they treated me & my dog.
