Friendly staff and the store is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Our 2yo Dobe never fusses when going for a wash and nail trim from the groomers and we've never been disappointed in their service. read more

This Petco's customer service is not the warmest. I prefer the customer service at the Beretania location, they're very helpful and friendly. At Hawaii Kai, some workers are grouchy and I get this vibe like they don't want to be here. read more

My Staffy is five years old and had never been to a groomer so I was concerned about how she would be with the nail cutting. Tiffany was so sweet and assured me it would be alright which made me feel less nervous. I was told it would take about two hours but received a call about 1.25 hours later that she was ready for pickup. When I picked her up it felt so good when Tiffany told me that she was such a good girl. Now I know she'll be okay and I can take her back for grooming. Tiffany was great, you can tell she loves and is comfortable with dogs. I was happy with the service and my Staffy was nice and clean. Yes I'll be back. read more

It says the hours have been updated a few days ago, but upon arrival the doors were locked an hour early and the store was closed

I bought a fish from here for my 3 year old daughters tank......we had several other fish already who were fine. Within a week I noticed the fishes were all sick and I tried using the drops to save them but I am no fish expert......needless to say the petco fish was the first to die and then every other fish in the tank followed. Petco has a 30 day exchange on fish great........so I took all the fish in to show them and explained what happened. The front staff sent me over to the fish dept where this older man talked and talked and talked and insisted that my water was bad and that it was not the petco fish....even though that fish got sick and died first! Of course the store refused to give me any other fish then the one I got from them. No big surprise there! Products in the store are very over priced. I plan to never shop here unlessof an emergency and I'd advise others not to either! read more

They deserve NO STARS at all for their grooming whatsoever. First visit was good. Took my dog the second time around and horrible. Her haircut isnt even based on her breed at all. She came back to me shaking for a very long time. Frantic, scrard, jumpy and also the biggest issue with her eyes squinting and swollen. Her right eye is the most swollen and unable to open to see anything. I have been icing it off and on for about 4 hours and I have notcied the swelling go down but i am still worried and definitely will not go back to petco ever for grooming. read more

I'm sad that Foodland is gone, but Petco is a convenient replacement. Staff is friendly and I like that I can find everything I need in one store. Some things are more expensive than they would be in the city, but at least the drive time is minimal. Only a few minutes from my house. Store is clean and they let you bring leashed pets in the store. read more

My dog was not supposed to be scheduled at the time she was, but the grooming staff took her in anyway. They did a wonderful job, and my best friend was clean and happy upon pick up! read more

Today I took my dog to pet co to get a bath and a facial, because he is a pug he needs his folds to be clean! The whole reason I took him in was because he loves those facials! After having Simba for 2 and half hours he came back with dirty folds. I called and told the lady that he did not receive his facial and she continuously went on how they did give him the facial and that what I was seeing was debri and when pugs get older the dirt accumulates and it loosened up!!! I wiped away the debris in 2 seconds! It was dirt that they did not clean off!! So unsatisfied with the service. At the end of the conversation she told me she was busy and I kept complaining about the same thing and she need to go!!!!! Wow what great service! I will never go back to them again!!! read more

They take very good care of my dogs and always pleased to get clean dogs back. I've had my schnauzer groomed several times and they don't seem to know how to scissor the face and she looks like a peek-a-poo. I have to finish up the grooming at home, but the rest of the cut is what I asked for. My only complaint. Convenient for me. read more

Yay for Petco in Hawaii Kai! My German Spitz needed a summer cut badly. I don't have her groomed much. She is so hyper-excitable, last year at Pacific Paws they couldn't do it--she probably screamed too much. But I wanted to try again this summer and Jamie and crew took such good care of Snowy. She was perfect, and we are all soooo happy! read more

I have an 80lb short haired dog, so people tend to be surprised when they hear that I regularly take him to the groomers. What can I say. I like my dog to smell like a flower but am too lazy to do it myself. We've been going to Petco Groomers since last year. Charlie gets the bath & brush (~$36). He never fails to kiss his groomer when we first arrive, which says a lot to me since he used to shake at the site of other companies' groomers that we've gone to in the past. Appointments are easy to schedule, the staff are friendly, and I think the price is fair. The only downside for me is the time: depending on how busy they are, you could be waiting to pick up your dog anywhere from an hour to 3 1/2 hours. Although he's always in a rush to leave (if you've ever seen a small girl being dragged out by a big, clean brown dog... that's us!), he always comes out looking handsome and happy. read more

Today's experience was wonderful. My girlfriend and I came in with our new puppy and Carole was incredibly helpful and pleasant. She made a point to tell us about the puppy classes, puppy playtime and made up a bag of treats for our pup. We will be making a point to visit this location every time we need food or pet supplies hoping Carole is working. read more

Have spent countless money here. When things go wrong don't expect a positive result. Out dated pet food. Broken items. Bad grooming. You name it. Wish the manager wasn't such a jerk. He is intensely rude and when you ask for a resolution will talk crap about you and curse in front of your children. read more

Great for cat or dog owners,, not so much for other animals, a few birds, chinchillas, turtles and a tiny selection of fish. We got lots of cat/dog places here, how about some exotics?? read more

I shop here all time. Prices are OK. The employees could work on customer service, but other than that its ok.

Looks like other petcos on the island but newer. Good prices on everything especially if you have the free petco pals card. They have a good selection of fighting fish. Not a huge selection of freshwater or saltwater fish at this store. (not a large amount of tanks and since they are just recently opened the store, not many fish in the tanks) The cats are from humane society. No puppies except on weekends sometimes which comes from humane society as well. they did not have the tank divider i was looking for and the lack of more live animals keeps it from being a 5. the workers were friendly and helpful. grand opening on june 15-17. read more

This petco has the best customer service. Staff is always friendly and provide a lot of information.

It's pretty good for dog grooming services. The groomers are nice and generally do a good job. They tend to turnover a lot though, and not the cheapest. Still though, they seem to maintain a certain level of training, safety and professionalism. read more

I had my older dog groomed here two times now and I can't be happier about the service here. My dog is 13 and he is really furry, white and 80 lbs and they have treated him with care and made sure he was comfortable during the grooming. His nails were trimmed nearly and they took extra care not to brush his tail too hard as that's where he is losing hair. He looks and smells great. Overall a great experience and very friendly, caring staff. Very reasonably priced too. read more

Walked in, no one greeted us. We headed over to move section. Stood around for about 10 minutes a very busy associate KACI was taking inventory I asked her to page for help. Over the intercom we could hear "assistance needed in____department" we heard the announcement exactly 7 times and observed KATY the manager in the aisle directly across us browsing and clearly she could e cleared the que and at least ask if we needed help. But then KACI comes back stating she's extremely busy but will assist. She helps us and heads to cashier Angie The cashier was very very friendly. She made it clear she could t leave the cashier and I totally understand. So as we're at the register 4 employees hear me complaining about all the customers who need assistance and aren't receiving it, they all swarm to cashiers and and customers looking to offer services. Like whatever where were you all when customers walked out because of lack in staffing. Kaci and Angie were the friendliest faces thank you ladies. read more

Petco in Hawaii is a real rip off! Some of their items are marked up 80-100% do yourself a favor go to Petsmart in mililani, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the price difference on the same items. i.e. a Marineland Magnum 350 aquarium pump sells for $115 on PetCo's own website. But at their local stores they are asking $226. INSANE! I'm never buying anything from them again, just on principle! They want to rip local customer off and price gouge! Then they can keep their products! Be a smart shopper and shop around you'll see that it's true! PetCo is overpriced! read more

Searched all the Petco stores throughout Oahu and found what I was looking for in Hawaii Kai. Pretty good selection of aquarium products. Service was excellent. Bought an aquarium stand and Kai (I think that was his name) helped me fit it in my car. I could've bought the same product closer to home but I was over $150 more. Definitely worth the drive from Ewa Beach to Hawaii Kai. read more

This is a specific shout out to Carrie at Petco Hawaii Kai! Carrie was extremely helpful at navigating my coupon book as I was buying supplies for my brand new kitty I was adopting the following day, and then took it a step further and helped me (completely on her own accord) carry my huge load of purchases to my car! Thank you for being so helpful with a smile on your face, Carrie! read more

Always have exactly what we're looking for to care for our pup. And everyone is usually friendly and knowledgable.

Don't take your dog here they don't care about you or your pets they just want your money. That's what you get from a big corporate company like this they lack in that department they just want money. Their communication with their grooming clients is horrible and they just don't give a damn. I'd recommend taking your dog to a local family owned groomer where they actually care. I'd give u no stars if I could. Their management in the grooming department sucks. In fact they've lost my business I will not spend another dollar at petco. I brought my dog in for grooming I picked her up and took her on the car and she went to look out the window wheni noticed her blood on my door. My dog was in the care of petco for the past 5 hours maybe they cut her... Maybe she hit her facei dunno but it happened while in their care.i notified them and they got all defensive about it. Because their convenient for me I made another appointment I got there at 8 am and the grooming "manager" says sorry we can't groom your dog here any more because you accused us of hurting your dog. Tho it wasn't an accusation it was truth they couldn't explain how it wouldn't have been their fault they only tried to tell me how it was my fault. But any how the girl says sorry there was a miscommunication yet she was obviously looking at my dogs profile for a while and instead of calling me she waited until I came in for my 8am appointment. So think twice before taking your dog to petco to be groomed especially this one there are other better groomers around. read more

Petco Hawaii Kai groomers -- Natalie in particular -- are great! I take my 3 dogs there and Natalie does a terrific job. Sometimes it takes longer than expected, but that's okay. They are caring and the dogs don't hate going there, which is unusual. I highly recommend Natalie. read more

Bought some dog food a day before and when I went back with my receipt and discount coupon in hand I was told I would have to bring the dog food back to get a refund and then apply the discount. First experience at this Petco and my last . Took my dogs to get their nails clipped . One of the groomers was pretty good but the other groomer was terrible . She took forever and hit the quick on my dog and then told me I shouldn't clip them cuz the nails are dark. I've been taking my dogs to petco for 8 years on the mainland with no problem . This location is the exception! Then she put the collar on the dog incorrectly and at the check out counter the dog slipped out of the collar and ran out the front door towards the parking lot . Not one employee offered any help . The dog could have been hit by a car after a terrible nail clipping experience ! Never again ! read more

If you need to get your dog groomed, take 'em to Natalie at Petco Hawaii Kai! I just moved back to Oahu and needed to find a kind, caring, talented groomer for my dog, Kalani. I called on a Sunday morning and was set up with an appointment 3 hours later. Natalie answered all my questions (I'm a very concerned dog-mom) and she was all around awesome. She is very experienced in her career and IT SHOWS! She quoted me 1.5-2 hours and he was done in 1-1.5. When I picked up Kalani he looked amazing! His hair was perfectly cut: paws were neat, ears were cleaned up and his nails were nice and short. I cannot give enough praise to Natalie. Above all, Kalani came out happy and feeling good. Mahalo Natalie! We'll see you next time. read more

I have taken my silky terrier to this Petco Hawaii Kai several times. It really depends on the groomer you get with the service. The first few times I took my dog there, I was happy with the service even though it took 3-4 hours to do a full grooming. However the last grooming back in July was very disappointing. I called for an appointment the same day and they advised me they were able to take my dog for a full grooming. They told me it should take 2-3 hours. It ended being a total of 6 hours before my dog was finished. I called a few times to check up when he was ready after 3 hours, and the girl said he was not worked on yet. When we showed up Petco to check in if we he was ready after about 5 hours, my dog was on the table being worked on the groomer was getting angry and yelling at my dog making a fist like she was going to hit the dog. Apparently my dog was snapping back at her when she was trying to cut the his nails. I did not say anything but was unhappy that our whole day was spent waiting for our dog to complete his grooming when we were told it should be 3 hours max. I paid for the service and decided if i ever go there I need to request the manager to do my dog. Previous grooming services were great though. It was the manager that did the services at those times. So it does depend on which groomer you get. As I experienced both good and bad service from this location. read more

Pretty irritating experience today trying to get puppy vaccinations. It's first come first serve, and I was going to come right as they opened, mind you I was coming from the complete opposite end of the island for this. I called in the morning just to confirm they would still be doing the vaccinations. They answered and they man I talked to specifically told me to come at 2:30 pm as the vet herself had a medical emergency. Now I just want to say no this is not the vets fault. So we got there at 2:00 pm, 30 minutes before the guy TOLD us to arrive. As soon as we walked in he basically dismissed us and said, "No you came too late they're not taking any more people." I explained how whoever I spoke to told me specifically to come at 2:30 and that I would have been there first thing and that I came all the way from Waipahu. The guy goes "yeah I live in Kunia so I know that drive." Ok cool? You get paid to come here.... I wasted gas money to drive all the way over here just to turn around and drive all the way back home. 100% going elsewhere for vaccines and all other animal products. read more
