Do not take your dog here!!!! Please!! I brought my 16-year-old dog in for grooming. They forgot to remove the cotton balls inside his ear, i discovered it two weeks later and he developed an ear infection requiring a vet visit (exam, cytology, cleaning, and medication totaling $235.40). I reached out multiple times with documentation and attempted to resolve this directly but did not receive a response. I would have appreciated communication and accountability. read more

Our dog has been coming here for years and we love how the staff treat him and our family. His haircut is always on point and he leaves smelling super good. They also give him accessories like leis or bandanas and will send us pics after his appointments. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a groomer! read more

DO NOT take your babies here. This time was the second visit for us. I just wanted to have my baby trim his nails. After we came home he has started limping his left back leg I texted the owner to let them know that their groomer hurt my dog please be gentle to dogs. The owner called me and told me that she watched the video and the groomer wasn't rough to my baby. I asked her to send me the video she told me she will but while we're talking she changed her mind and told me she can't send me the video because she can't play back the video. Well at first she told me she checked the video and nothing happened but now she can't playback the video? Every time I ask if she could send me the video she keeps changing the subject. I know she's hiding the fact that the groomer hurt my dog, could be accidentally but they still denying it. I ended up taking my baby to the emergency clinic to get him checked. Nothing broken just a pulled muscle. I have to give him pain medication and he's not allowed to do his normal activities for two weeks. The owner had the nerve to accuse me of hurting my baby after I left the groomers and putting the blame on the groomer. SHE DOESN'T MAKE SENSE She even told me that many ppl wanna blame groomers. Of course I do blame them because it has never happened to him before and what I did was took him here to have him trim his nails. They probably hide smth that's why they don't wanna show me the video. I wasn't gonna write the review if they apologized or talked to me nicely but what they did was making excuses and not to have responsibility so I'm writing this review not to make any victims anymore. I wish I could give them 0 star! read more

I absolutely love Hailey and her staff. They did such a great job with my niece's husky and my Malshipoo puppy, even though they both definitely had some anxiety about getting handled by strangers. Hailey made sure that we were both kept in the loop at all times, and even gave us a 20 minute heads up as far as when to come back for pick up. I also liked that the dogs were kept separate from other dogs and you don't have worry about another dog getting close to your dog. Highly highly recommend. read more

I texted to trimmer that I'm not satisfied service But she text me back like automatic confirming messages. Actually a dog is my Boyfriend mom's dog. Today's service was mom's request for her birthday. I've been there before and had good service. That's why I'm back. The last time took about an hour to done the service but It took 4 hours and half today . And it wasn't complete service.‍ I don't understand. Didn't complete service even took 4 hours and half. Finally time to pick a dog up ,I pushed door bell twice but trimmer ignored and try to eat food(lunch) I knocked door then she finally open the door and let me in. I am not satisfied with service. read more

Loved this place! My dog Mellie looked so beautiful after her bath and the groomer was very kind!

Bathing our 50-lb doggy gremlin at home has always been an epic wrestling match. She's 8 years old now and we finally decided to let a professional do the job. Honolulu Dog Spa came highly recommended and now we wonder why we waited so long to go there! Our gremlin is normally wary of strangers, but when we went to pick her up after her spa session, she didn't want to leave! She also had her ears cleaned and nails trimmed - Wow! We'll definitely return. Mahalo, Honolulu Dog Spa! read more

They are so great with our frenchie. She won't let me near her paws for trimming and she stands so good for them!

I am truly impressed with the services of the Honolulu Dog Spa. My initial call went to voicemail as they were grooming other dogs and it was less than one hour to closing. I figured I would call back the next day, however surprisingly I received a return call within 10 minutes. They were able to fit my Doodles in for a bath and trim the next morning. I received a call 45 minutes prior to my appointment asking if I wanted to come earlier as she had the opening. I took advantage of that as it gave me time to run an errand, and 30 minutes later I received a text that Doodles was ready. When I went to pick him up, he was excited and looked great! It was such a pleasant experience overall. The place is easy to find, parking right up front, the technician was kind, and the cost was extremely reasonable. I will be referring everyone who has pets in Waikiki to Honolulu Dog Spa! read more

Was looking for a new groomer and an owner of a dog I watch recommended this place. An appointment was easy enough to make, but there's a lot of background noise, so it can be hard to hear. Dropping off my husky was also easy. There's 10 minute parking available in the front. The first woman who helped me was friendly. The lady who groomed my girl and the man who checked us out were not as friendly. Not rude, but neutral. I did get a report from the groomer when I picked her up. She said my girl was sweet, easy to work on, and didn't make much noise. Environment-wise, the facilities could have been slightly better. Understandable, there was much fur on the ground. But, I thought the temperature warm. My husky came out quite thirsty for only an hour being there. What did surprise me was she was done in an hour. She looked and felt clean. Nails were trimmed. However, her paw pad fur was not trimmed. Despite their website saying they do a light trimming, the guy said it was an extra charge. Their website does not mention additional services, nor was I asked when I made my first appointment if I wanted any services added. Additionally, she only smells ok. She has a small area on her scruff that seems to be spritzed with something, but overall, she smells okay. Of note, customers can pay with cash, but they don't/can't give change. read more

Was in the hunt for a good groomer. Not one that over charges and don't only deal with little dogs. I have a Prestine exotic bully and am very picky. We visited several groomers then stumbled upon Honolulu Dog Spa. Prices are reasonable. Easy to make appointments. People are friendly! They actually have other bully's and Pitbull's that they service. We felt welcomed and cared for! And most of all Shine our fur-son was happy and relaxed there. They did a great job from head to toe and our Shine came out super duper excited with a cute avengers handkerchief on!! It's also great because we just moved to Manoa and this shop is close by and has great hours!!! Thank you to Shiney's new aunties! This will definitely be our regular groomers!!! read more

My husband and I were so excited about getting a new dog. We got her registered with a new vet, bought new dog toys, new dog beds, etc. But the one thing we didn't even consider was grooming! Our new addition is a 2 1/2 year old golden doodle rescue. In one word she was a fluffball. We were told she would need to be brushed regularly. And we tried to the point of making our new dog miserable. She had matted fur under her curls. Fortunately, we found Honolulu Dog Spa. I sent a request in the night before and received a reply in the morning. They were able to get her in the same day! They did let us know that her fur might have to be cut really short. However, we knew she needed it. Not only does she look fabulous with the super short fur she was so happy! Obviously Honolulu Dog Spa made her feel comfortable. Which was very important to us. We can't thank Honolulu Dog Spa for the excellent service, professionalism, and most importantly the fantastic care they gave our fur baby! Mahalo! read more

This dog grooming salon located in Moi'ilili on Young Street does great work. They get my senior citizen dog looking so much younger than she is. She enjoys going there and being pampered. I do the best I can in between grooming visits, but her coat gets matted easily because she likes to sleep in the damp bathtub when we aren't home. The groomers here get her coat so smooth and shiny. We get compliments from others about how good she looks. Her nails are clipped. She gets a sanitary trim around her private parts. She smells good for a change. The prices are competitive and it's good to help a local small business. There's a bench outside if you want to wait while your dog is being groomed, but it can be a two hour wait, so we drop off and go shopping at Ala Moana until we get the text to return. read more

My favorite place to bring Teddy! It was recommended to me by a friend, who also has a shihtzu. For a while I was going to Petco, which I love also, but they just couldn't seem to get his rounded shape right. Honolulu Dog Spa is the best place to bring your beloved pup! They are a locally owned, female business. I drive all the way from the west side and take Teddy here monthly because I can always guarantee that he is well taken care of! read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS TO HONOLULU DOG SPA. I brought my dog in for a simple nail trimming. After I returned home his nails started to bleed. They cut the nails way too short, and didn't warn me. His nails have been bleeding for the past 3 days. I've made an appointment with my vet. He needs to get antibiotics to prevent infection since the bleeding has persisted for so long. read more

My appr for dog groom was 1Pm.I was told by the girl when I dropped my dog off that it would be 4hrsSo I took the Uber home and walked back around five at 5 o'clock.I saw with my own eyes that my dog was just being washed in the tub at 5PM.I'm laid-back so I walked around the corner and sat there had a salad and waited.I called 2x and sent 2 text messages to the phone number that had messaged me back that morning confirming it was the right address.I walked back about 615 and my dog was on top of table getting her hair clipped so I waited for another 30 minutes before walking back over.I walked back in and the girl straight lied to me and said that she had been calling my number for hours and that my dog had been done for hours. One thing wasn't true is that she had not been done for hours. I saw my dog getting her haircut through the window 45 minutes before that. When I told the girl that she said it must of been a different dog.Number two she told me that she had the wrong number said that she had the area codes mixed up yet I spoke with someone on that phone number and texted it and got a response twice. If it was her business partner's phone wouldn't her business partner at least call her partner or employee and say hey this woman is looking for her Dog? Here is the correct phone number? The lady told me that she had the incorrect phone number and have been calling me for hours. That was a lie. I've never left a yelp review before but my dog was absolutely terrorized. She was in a kennel screaming when I came in as girl sat at the front desk. Why did you have to put my dog in a cage? There were no other dogs in the entire shop? She was completely terrorized the rest of the night she threw up all night long bile she wouldn't eat. She slept on top of my head. It was probably the saddest thing I've ever seen. my dog is very laid-back dog well mannered dog who is 6 and has been to the groomer prob 60 times and does very very well at groomer.I really hope this experience does not ruin it for her.Even if there was the wrong number in the computer, whoever had the phone that I talk to you this morning, should've reached out to the girl that was grooming my dog, and let them know that I was calling and texting looking for my animal. It was very poor service very unfriendly service and incredibly late service. I was there from 1pmto 645 PM absolutely ridiculous. I would not want take my dog here if you paid me. read more

I'd like to add that the new owner refunded the overcharge back to me with an apology.

Friendly, professional, flexible, and CLEAN. I needed a groomer at the last minute for a dog I brought in from the mainland going to his new owners. They were able to accommodate my needs at short notice. The bath and grooming are all open bay. There was no wet dog smell upon entering (it actually smelt really good in there) definitely worth your money. read more

I brought my pug these last couple times and she's not as clean as she used to be when I would bring her prior to those last two visits. There used to be this younger girl that worked there that would do a really amazing job. I loved this place because they did a good job before and they're so flexible. But today is my last visit. My pug wasn't really de-shedded her nails weren't cut short enough meaning they're still pretty long and they left a small piece of cloth in her ear. I called several times to get an update but no answer so I just came to pick her up. When the young girl finished my pug she would be very clean, de shedded and the nails would be cut short. 3 stars because customer service aspect of it is really good. Just one of them isn't as friendly, but not rude just neutral. Doesn't say much... read more

Friendly groomers. Some things I wasn't happy with I asked trim around mouth areas because want to grow her hairs. But the grimed around eye areas not mouth area. I know I should tell them when I picked up, but what can they do? They can't grow the hairs. So I didn't. Also if they cleaned inside her ear's hairs a bit more good would be perfect. Brushing assume! Her hair was super soft and fluffy for long time! read more

Look after 4 months of going this the grooming place. What I expected about post clipping alopecia is REAL. The groomer and the owner have no knowledge about it. If you have any expensive pets or the pets that need to be cautious with grooming. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE. The owner told me to get Thyroid checkup. I got it done and the result is normal! Plus I don't want my dog to take any med because it's only 15% effective. read more

Amy and her staff are great! I've taken my dog to a handful of groomers in the past and no one can do as good of a job as Honolulu Dog Spa. I've been to Honolulu Dog Spa around three times so far and I've never been disappointed. I think I spend a little more here...about $80 including tax and tip for a full groom, but I don't mind since they do such an awesome job! I usually request to book an appointment online and Amy is always super quick at responding and confirming a date and time. When I drop off my dog, I just pull up in front of the shop, which has two stalls that you can park in for drop off and pick ups. I'm always greeted immediately by Amy and her staff. The very first time I brought my dog to get groomed, Amy asked me how I wanted my dog to look...I told her that I just wanted my almost 10 year old Silky Terrier/Maltese to look like a puppy again and showed her a picture of her as a puppy. I left the shop and maybe two hours later was called saying that my dog was ready for pick up. I walked in and was overcome with nostalgia...my dog looked like a puppy again! read more
