Went in to get my female bulldog a dress or something cute for the 4th of July and they didn't have her size but we found her something cute in pink. I've used the groomers at this location three times. The first visit the groomer did a great job, I was very pleased. The second visit wasn't as good but it was ok. Today my pretty maltepoo went in for a bath and haircut. Her legs had matted hair and I was told they would have to shave her. I agreed but her head and tail were not matted and didnt have to be shaved. Also her body wasn't matted. When I picked her up she looked like a Chinese created. Before visiting this Petco, I was a little iffy about scheduling my dogs grooming appointment (due to the reviews I read on here.) But the moment I walked I was greeted very friendly and the best part was my miniature schnauzers haircut came out so adorable! The staff were all very sweet to Phoebe (my puppy). Overall, I rate this place a 5 star because I was very pleased with Phoebe's haircut, the friendly staff, and clean environment! Took three of my dogs here to get their nails trimmed and buffed. About an hour and a half or so later I got the message that they were all done, so I picked them up and not a single one of their nails had been done. I'm giving two stars because the manager was great and had them taken care of the next day, but it's a waste of time to have to go in twice and pay for a service that wasn't done in the first place. We had to go here for an emergency visit for our senior dog last December, I've been meaning to leave a review since then because the current 3 star does not apply to our experience. The vet was very kind and was able to see our dog quickly even though he was pulled into emergency surgery halfway through the process. Our Ted was kept very comfortable in the meantime. When he made his diagnosis, he was very straightforward about our options on the phone and was willing to perform more diagnostics on him although he informed us they were most likely unnecessary since our baby had cancerous tumors and spinal lesions he could see from an X-ray. We wound up having to say goodbye to him that night, and despite not knowing our family at all, the staff was so incredibly kind and compassionate that it made an impossible situation at least a little bit comfortable. They made sure we had plenty of time to say goodbye. I'm really thankful for the way they handled it. read more

I had a really sad experience today at Petco. As such a big franchise you would think their online prices would match their website. I asked someone who works there if they would price match with THEIR OWN website. She said no! Which upset me and I took my business elsewhere. I called to see if they have a specific cat to adopt. I live 45 minutes from here and another site said this particular cat may be there for adoption today. I didn't want to make the drive in case they didn't have it. The lady that answered said they only have one other person there so she wasn't going to put me on hold to go look. OK, you may need to hire more people especially during the holidays. Oh and her frustration definitely came through the phone. Another fail! I've worked retail, I know how it goes. Ordered AdvantageMulti with a prescription. Petco uses Express Scripts to fulfill pharmacy orders. Two boxes at $211.80 which is price fixed recurring order price set by Bayer. By the way, this is a recurring order. Express Scripts sent one box only and the order was considered fulfilled by them. After two phone calls to Petco, on hold for over 20 minutes each time, the problem is hopefully resolved, I'm still missing one box. Petco is refunding me for the box I'm missing. They are reordering the second box and charging me again. Needless to say, I will be switching to another supplier. DO NOT USE PETCO for your pet prescription orders!! read more

I have never written a review for anything, but Christian at the Frisco Eldorado Petco gave many reasons for a five-star review. My daughter and her friend went into the store with money they had saved to purchase a small fish tank, rocks and a couple of decorations. When they asked Christian about small fish tanks he took the time to show them every option in the store and explained the differences. When my daughter and her friend went to pay for everything they underestimated the cost and did not have enough money to pay. Instead of telling the girls that they could not purchase the items, Christian paid the difference with his own money! His act of kindness taught two young girls that people are good and some people's actions will be a life lesson that will be remembered. Thank you Christian for being a person who makes a difference in people's lives! read more

This review is for the Grooming department only. I regularly buy dog food and supplies at Petco, and am generally satisfied with shopping for those items there. This was the first time I took my Maltese to get groomed at Petco. She normally gets groomed at another place that specializes only in grooming, but it's quite a far drive while Petco is just minutes away. I decided to give it a shot, thinking it'd be more convenient. Upon making the appointment a couple days prior, I inquired about pricing ahead of time, making sure to ask if there'd be extra charges if they ended up having to shave her, because she was matted in some areas. (For those who are not familiar with Maltese fur, their coats can easily become matted even if you brush them everyday.) They said yes, saying the extra amount to shave her would be $6. Ok - fine, I can live with that. I also told her that I would need to pick up my puppy by 2pm, so she suggested allotting about 3.5 hours to make sure she'd be done in time. Well, I dropped my puppy off at 9am and she was not ready until 2:45! That's over 6.5 hours, people. Ridiculous. But my main complaint is how much they charged me - $68 for grooming a small dog! They were not upfront about "dematting" charges, which is charged on a time basis. At the register, I was informed that I was charged twice ($12) for dematting because it took the groomer longer than 15 minutes to get the knots out, and she ended up shaving those areas anyway, for a third extra charge. Her haircut was fine, but it didn't look like they even tried to wash her face at all. At her normal place, grooming (which includes shaving, bath, nail trim, and gland squeezing) even when she was much more matted than when I took her to Petco, costs no more than $45. Unfortunately, I had to learn the hard way to not take my baby to Petco. Another reviewer has stated that it doesn't seem like the groomers treat their four-legged clients that well, and that terrifies me. Wish I had seen that before taking her to this appointment. Will not be bringing her back here again. read more

They had exactly what we wanted, and even offered to stay open later for us since we were running late! I expected them to be rushing us out, but they were both extremely nice and helpful. Omg slowest place ever, especially the aquatics section. I must say 1 employee is good Shanisa, but she's always by herself when there and too many need help for 1 worker. Other than her being there those days it's never staffed. There's always a mad search for someone to help, so if you're in a hurry forget service that day. The lines at the checkout counter are usually long and if your animal is not properly trained YTF bring then in a store to harass others. I do not appreciate someone's dog slobbering on me or I'm sure others don't like their kids being frightened by a massive ass uncontrollably big dog jumping in them. I only go here when there's no time to drive anywhere else. Need improvements in services though. BUT, they do keep pretty much everything in stock like food and supplies. read more

I came in yesterday because I was on my way to pick up my new kitten and needed a carrier for her. I didn't want to go all out and buy a new carrier because I had one at home so I asked if they had the cardboard carriers for sale. Another employee came up and said "did I hear you needed a cat carrier?" And I told him yes and he went up and got me a carrier someone had donated and just gave it to me. This is not a super huge store but that is good with me, because that means their overhead is lower and hopefully they will be around longer than some of the other Big Box stores that open and close so fast in this Hyper Critical Frisco TX market. read more

My experience has been superb so far! I purchased two African dwarf frogs from Petsmart that ended up being sick, I tried to return them two days later at Petsmart(without my receipt, they were 3$ frogs and I had purchased everything else there a few days before so I didn't think I'd need it) well petsmart refused to take them back. Unfortunately, I didn't have the necessary means to take care of them and was going out of town the next day, even if it was a 3$ frog, I didn't want it to die. Ran to Petco to see if they would take it, and without any hesitation or problem, they said they'd be happy to get it taken care of! This was a huge weight and relief off my shoulders. Hailey helped me out big time when I went back in hopes of having some questions answered and possibly getting some more supplies! Kyle and Cameron were also big helps, all super friendly and attentive. I've been converted from petsmart to petco after the experience I've had! I have been taking my 3 month old St. Bernard to this place for puppy school. The Trainer (Tori) is fantastic and very patient. The classes are always on time. My puppy and I feel great when we leave. I have not tried the grooming service yet, but when I am there, someone is always checking in for the grooming. I will continue with the puppy training since I am seeing great results with the class. read more

Horrible horrible experience at the Pet Vet in Petco. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE! I went to take my two pugs in for vaccinations and a nail trim. The lady at the desk was so snobby! On top of that, the vet's technician (MARTI COCHRAN) took my black pug in and literally 2 seconds later she came out and said we can't trim his nails because he's not holding in our restraint. I dont know what they did to my dog, but he came out and ran to hide right under the chair behind my legs. He's so down and scared! I'll put my hand out to rub his ears and he backs away scared. Then, when she took my tan pug in, same thing! She came out two seconds later and said 'we can't trim his nails'- theyre too hyper. I was furious! I even asked if I could hold him or stand there, and she was not willing to cooperate at all! I took both my dogs to the petsmart across the street to get their nails trimmed and grind. Not a single problem, they didn't fuss at all. When we came home, my black pug wouldn't eat or drink anything; he'd just lay there. I am never taking them back there. read more

This is the worst experience ever. The groomer sliced off the tip of my pets ear. They took her tomthe vet in the store who caterized her ear because the bleeding was so profuse. That vet has been reported for verbal,abuse to me in the exam room. He withheld the medicine for my pet and walked out and slammed the door in my face. Petco won't have a face to face meeting with me nor will they pay for the vet bills generated due to the severe injury. This is not possible. We went to this Petco today to get one of our dogs' nails trimmed. He is always skittish pretty much anywhere we go, but today he completely backed out of his collar and darted out the front door (curse you, automatic doors at a pet shop!). An employee named Curt (? or Kurt?) ran all over the parking lot trying to get him as my mom yelled for help, afraid that he'd get hit by a car. He helped my mom get a leash over his head once she finally caught him and escorted them inside. Once we were done with his nails and got home, Curt called my mom to make sure we made it home alright and that the next nail trim would be on him since the whole experience was so traumatic. I truly wish Yelp would allow you to give a business negative stars. On December 6, my husband took our dog to The Pet Vet for her annual shots. He explained to them that our dog is skittish and asked to go back with her in which they would not allow him to. Within minutes, he heard her begin to cry and whimper which he said lasted for approximately 1-2 minutes. When he brought her home, it was apparent that she didn't feel good but we assumed it was because of her shots. The whole weekend, she had very little energy and would not jump onto the furniture to lounge in her favorite spots. On Monday, December 8th, I attempted to pick her up only to have her start squealing and crying. When I examined her, I found that her shoulder was swollen which I assumed was normal and wasn't worried. However, when I ran my hand along her side, she began to squeal and whimper more especially when I put the slightest pressure on her lower rib cage. What I assume happened is that she became unruly during the shots or nail clipping and they held her down too hard thus causing an injury to her. I called The Pet Vet on Tuesday, December 9th, and spoke to Cara. I explained the situation to her and asked that I either be reimbursed the visit so that I wouldn't be out any more money to take my dog to our vet or that they pay for her to be seen by my vet. I was told that the exam would need to be done by their vet. I explained to her that my trust and faith in them has been broken and that I didn't believe they would do a fair exam of my dog. I offered to have a representative from their office present for the appointment with my vet or to have my vet contact them during the exam to report his findings. I was again told that this was not acceptable. I advised Cara that I would be filing a dispute and a complaint with the Texas Veterinary Board as well as with BBB. I called the Petco manager and asked for the corporate number so that I could report this. I was told that The Pet Vet and Petco are not affiliated with each other outside of The Pet Vet renting the space. Brian, the Petco manager, stepped up and contacted his bosses who in turn offered to pay for my dog's vet appointment which they did not have to do as this is not their issue. The Pet Vet could use a lesson in customer service from Brian and his team at Petco. I believe that Petco needs to sever their ties with this "vet". read more
