We had booked their appointment weeks ago. They sent text confirmations, and emails asking that we give them plenty of notice if we have to cancel. I certainly understand that. They called YESTERDAY to make sure we'd be there (yes, we will). So today, 35 minutes before our appointment time, I was told their appointment was CANCELED BY THEM because of lack of groomers (one called in sick). I asked if another groomer could take them, no, they were booked. Can they revise the schedule a bit? No, they didn't "feel comfortable" doing that (unless I just wanted just baths - no, I can do that at home). Can they accommodate us in any way at all??? NO, they kept repeating that a groomer was out. This was from a so-called MANAGER, BTW. I accept some responsibility for this for being naive enough to think they'd offer better service (maybe they improved?), but no they have not. I honestly don't understand how they stay in business. Well, maybe it's the exorbitantly high prices they charge on products. I wish I could give zero stars. To be treated this way repeatedly is unacceptable.

I was tols the trainers would work around my schedule, also false. They give you times & days they can show. I have a very specific thing I'd like my dog trained out of ( not the normal stuff you'd see in most dogs) and was told that wouldn't be an issue, but since having them, the trainer just doesn't seem to be that advanced. She is a nice lady and all but not the training I was looking for. Their prices are what mainly get you, for $1400/life compared to $2000+ for a course seems worth it, but it isn't. They only give 1hr sessions twice a week but your the one mainly doing all the work. I was under the impression (as they made it seem) that they would work solely with the dog, become aware of the issue and correct it and then slowly give you the lead on correcting it, 100% NOT the case. My dog had become extremely attached to my ex-girlfriend while we were together, and even after 1yr later, he has completely shutdown on going for walks and some other activities. Things he was never scared of before, scare him now. The trainer they have assigned to me is taking an approach like a normal case of fear but almost nothing is working. The worst part is that you can't cancel & get a refund. If you try to cancel, they switch your lifetime over to individual pricing and charge you per session, which is like $200ea making it far more costly then just keeping the lifetime service. The trainer should be able to come get your dog and be them 2 without you to learn the difficulty of what is happeningz figure out a solution, begin to train them out of it and then proceed to teach you what they are doing. Instead the trainer has you do most of the stuff but in my case, is not 100% what is going on. My dog use to be extremely confident in anything and loved walks no matter what, but now the sllightest popping noise to rain, he doesn't want to walk. I brought up its broken heart syndrome but they & other trainers I've spoken to don't believe it is. He is most of the time confident in going to the dog park but thats about it. I've tried all the normal things on my own but nothing goes through to walking. I'm at a loss on both quality of life with my dog and money from paying dog academy. I have 2 other dogs that do NOT show this behavior what so ever and they are also loosing quality of life by not being able to go on walks because my 1 just shuts down. I seriously need help

I have a pretty good dog, she doesn't run away, she can go out front and stay in the yard unsupervised, obeys commands to come, sit lay down, but she can be a little anxious too. She does not do well around other dogs and strangers, but when I put her in the car and we pulled up in front of the groomers, I had already removed her collar and leash (they do not want them there at the shop) and when Goldie got out of the car, I saw a side of my dog I've NEVER seen before in the eight years I've had her. She knew where she was and was in NO way happy about it. Granted, she doesn't like to be groomed, but this was something more than that, she was TERRIFIED of being there and bolted from the parking lot and ran INTO THE STREET, tail between her legs and shaking like a leaf. They must have done something so terrible to her that she would rather risk life and limb and run into the street than go inside that shop. The girl came out and chased her down, grabbed her by the nape and drug her back to the entrance. No one treats my dog like that, I certainly do not. She is NEVER going back there again.

This review should be for the Adventure Pets in Mandeville, not Covington. This was absolutely the…read moreworst experience I have ever had at any business!! My son and I were visiting Adventure Pets in Mandeville and noticed the enclosures were very small and unkept. The Beta fish were in greenish colored water and ammonia build up was at the bottom. A very large rabbit was in an extremely small enclosure, next to an enclosure that was twice as big with rabbit bedding in it where the rabbit could have gone, but it was empty. I viewed the bearded dragon enclosure and was very sad to see no water and no food, this was also the same in other animal enclosures. They were small dragons and they wouldn't go through a whole bowl of greens and water in a day. I said something to an employee (and I said it in a calm, even tone) who said they must have eaten it all. the water and food dish had a black residue at the bottom that looked like a moldy consistency. When the employee went to get the water dish he said, "Well move so I can get the dish out!". I said to him, "That wasn't very nice. Y'all don't keep your enclosures very clean, his response was "well then walk right out the front door". He was very disrespectful. On our way out the door, I saw an older man who I thought might be the owner, as I am now learning, he is the owner's husband...others have complained about him. I said something to him about the employee being rude and what he said to us and the tanks being a mess. He told us to show him. We went back there with him and the young guy who got the water. Started saying nasty things to my son and IN FRONT OF THE OWNER! The employee then asked my son to step outside to which my son replied, "I'll step outside with you!" Then the employee said, "Get out of my face" My son wasn't even standing close to the employee, my son was next to me and behind the owner 5-6 feet from the employee. The owner stood there the entire time and said nothing to his employee about threatening his customers! I was completely appalled!! I signed up for Yelp just so I could report this to others! I plan to take it to the BBB. I could not believe the owner stood for this sort of behavior and talk to his customers!
