Northlake Veterinary Hospital - Jewels. Sweet angel.

Northlake Veterinary Hospital

Our beautiful boy (Charlie!) had an emergency on the 2nd. We rushed him to Medvet (who is…read morewonderful!) but it turned out he was very very blocked and the catheter ended up breaking in him as a result (NOT medvet's fault! They are amazing.) Medvet and my normal vet were both unable to do his PU surgery, which prompted me to discover Northlake. We arrived and right away were impressed with how clean and comfortable the vets office was. The receptionists/techs were extremely kind and we were seen pretty quickly by Dr. Leonard. He examined Charlie to ensure we didn't need surgery, unfortunately we did. He was honest with me, didn't sugar coat things but was kind about it. He told me there was a chance, because of the catheter being broken, that surgery would fail. After he spoke with several other vets to discuss what would be best for Charlie, we decided on the PU surgery. Of course I was a nervous wreck during this time and the techs were AMAZING through out it all, they came out to inform me several times through out the surgery how it was going, kept me comforted and assured (Specifically a tech named Lauren, I believe. She was AMAZING and kept us so comforted) I found out Dr. Leonard also had another doctor working with him, Dr. Linn. Surgery was a success! However because of everything, Dr. Leonard wanted to keep the cath in him for 10 days to ensure proper healing - This is the first time I've EVER been away from Charlie and I was a MESS over this, but the AMAZING staff at Northlake were SO sweet and so patient with me calling a bunch of times to check on my boy. Doctors like Doctor Floyd, Holt, Abbey and Vinterella were also doctors who helped to take care of him during his stay and were always so on point about making sure I got daily updates whenever they were the ones working with him. The patience, kindness and compassion we were shown through out this whole ordeal made what was a terrifying experience so much easier and I can't begin to thank the entire staff at Northlake enough. A simple "thank you" hardly seems like enough. The women who answered the phone (Ashley, Ashley, Shannon and Emily - I believe those were all their names!) were always so kind and patient with me, I wanted to make a mention of them and how great they were. NEVER once did any of them make me feel like I was calling too much or annoying them. You guys were AMAZING. Charlie is now home, and we're watching him closely to ensure that he continues to heal properly, but without Northlake I don't know what I would have done. I wanted to come on here and make sure I left a glowing review, because I cannot recommend them enough. They're an office full of amazing, kind, and determined individuals. I believe with every fiber of my being that Charlie got the best care from this office. I also appreciated how accommodating and patient they were with letting me visit Charlie!! Thank you, Northlake!

they forgot to give my dog her heartworm prevention shot. yet I requested it and paid for it. When…read moreI found out I was furious. they tried to make it right by giving her a free shot. Then they kept sending me text and emails telling me that I was late the next year on the annual visit. I told them that due to their mistakes the prior year, I was waiting to get all shots back on the same schedule. my dog is on a prescription diet and they refused to approve an order of dog food from Chewy online stating that my dog was not current on vaccines. My dog is a small mixed 15 year old who is down to 9 lbs from being almost 20 lbs a few years back. I called and gave them a piece of my mind for the treatment received. Well, I received a letter in the mail stating that they were terminating our relationship and would no longer treat my dog. They said the matter was not life or death. I beg to differ. A 15 year old, 9 lb dog being deprived her food is a life or death situation. And now they keep bombarding me with mail, email and texts to bring my dog in. What is wrong with these people? We have moved on to another vet who switched her food and is putting weight back on her. Do not trust this vet clinic. They are horrible.

Erica was so gentle, patient, and understanding. She took the time to earn our dogs' trust, which gave us complete peace of mind. We received plenty of updates and photos after each visit, and communication was always quick and easy. It was such a relief knowing our dogs were happy, comfortable, and cared for in their own home, and that our house was being looked after, too. We will definitely be booking with them again!

Last year during Christmas travels Blondie stayed and got sick from anxiety and they cared for her and treated her and when we returned she was happy and healthy and she is always happy to see us, but runs back to the staff for love before she leaves. She has been in multiple times for baths and nail trimming and always comes back pretty and primmed. Highly recommended!

Extremely Disappointed - Do Better for the Animals!…read more I'm heartbroken and furious about the treatment my dogs received at Pet Suites in Covington. I paid for day play for three days, and they didn't receive it. Malibu was supposed to be given medication in capsule form--he needed two every 12 hours--but only one was missing from the bottle when I picked them up. That's completely unacceptable. Even worse, when I brought them home, their urine was extremely dark and acidic, a clear sign they were not properly hydrated. It's horrifying to think they were left with little to no water in their kennels. I was told that Finn, my German Shepherd, was "vocal." He's a dog--of course he needs engagement and playtime, especially since I paid extra for that very thing. It's beyond frustrating to think he was ignored or punished for simply being a dog. What's most upsetting is the lack of professionalism. Everyone I spoke to seemed young, untrained, and completely overwhelmed. It's obvious the business is being run by people who either aren't qualified or simply don't care. My pets are family, and they deserve to be treated as such--not neglected and mistreated. Please, if you're considering this place--do your homework. Check the cameras, ask questions (and pay attention to how inconsistent the answers are), and trust your gut. My babies can't speak, so I'm speaking up for them. No animal should go through what they went through. Also not to mention they kept stating they were "short staffed" which is why every dog got let out but my two. DO NOT DO IT!! I wish I could not leave a rating or give an option to shut it down. I posted on Nextdoor my experience and oh MY did people have some things to say about them. Next up is getting ahold of city hall and corporate.
