    I love this place, what I like most is they care about the pets they sell, from ferrets, fish, birds,rabbits etc.you can tell they're happy.

My son and I were visiting Adventure Pets in Mandeville and noticed the enclosures were very small and unkept. The Beta fish were in greenish colored water and ammonia build up was at the bottom. A very large rabbit was in an extremely small enclosure, next to an enclosure that was twice as big with rabbit bedding in it where the rabbit could have gone, but it was empty. I viewed the bearded dragon enclosure and was very sad to see no water and no food, this was also the same in other animal enclosures. They were small dragons and they wouldn't go through a whole bowl of greens and water in a day. I said something to an employee (and I said it in a calm, even tone) who said they must have eaten it all. the water and food dish had a black residue at the bottom that looked like a moldy consistency. When the employee went to get the water dish he said, "Well move so I can get the dish out!". I said to him, "That wasn't very nice. Y'all don't keep your enclosures very clean, his response was "well then walk right out the front door". He was very disrespectful. On our way out the door, I saw an older man who I thought might be the owner, as I am now learning, he is the owner's husband...others have complained about him. I said something to him about the employee being rude and what he said to us and the tanks being a mess. He told us to show him. We went back there with him and the young guy who got the water. Started saying nasty things to my son and IN FRONT OF THE OWNER! The employee then asked my son to step outside to which my son replied, "I'll step outside with you!" Then the employee said, "Get out of my face" My son wasn't even standing close to the employee, my son was next to me and behind the owner 5-6 feet from the employee. The owner stood there the entire time and said nothing to his employee about threatening his customers! I was completely appalled!! I signed up for Yelp just so I could report this to others! I plan to take it to the BBB. I could not believe the owner stood for this sort of behavior and talk to his customers!

    We waited a while to send our dogs back here for grooming, I know, we were burned in the past…read more(twice), but the store is five minutes away, so we gave them one more chance for convenience's sake. We had booked their appointment weeks ago. They sent text confirmations, and emails asking that we give them plenty of notice if we have to cancel. I certainly understand that. They called YESTERDAY to make sure we'd be there (yes, we will). So today, 35 minutes before our appointment time, I was told their appointment was CANCELED BY THEM because of lack of groomers (one called in sick). I asked if another groomer could take them, no, they were booked. Can they revise the schedule a bit? No, they didn't "feel comfortable" doing that (unless I just wanted just baths - no, I can do that at home). Can they accommodate us in any way at all??? NO, they kept repeating that a groomer was out. This was from a so-called MANAGER, BTW. I accept some responsibility for this for being naive enough to think they'd offer better service (maybe they improved?), but no they have not. I honestly don't understand how they stay in business. Well, maybe it's the exorbitantly high prices they charge on products. I wish I could give zero stars. To be treated this way repeatedly is unacceptable.
