We waited a while to send our dogs back here for grooming, I know, we were burned in the past (twice), but the store is five minutes away, so we gave them one more chance for convenience's sake. We had booked their appointment weeks ago. They sent text confirmations, and emails asking that we give them plenty of notice if we have to cancel. I certainly understand that. They called YESTERDAY to make sure we'd be there (yes, we will). So today, 35 minutes before our appointment time, I was told their appointment was CANCELED BY THEM because of lack of groomers (one called in sick). I asked if another groomer could take them, no, they were booked. Can they revise the schedule a bit? No, they didn't "feel comfortable" doing that (unless I just wanted just baths - no, I can do that at home). Can they accommodate us in any way at all??? NO, they kept repeating that a groomer was out. This was from a so-called MANAGER, BTW. I accept some responsibility for this for being naive enough to think they'd offer better service (maybe they improved?), but no they have not. I honestly don't understand how they stay in business. Well, maybe it's the exorbitantly high prices they charge on products. I wish I could give zero stars. To be treated this way repeatedly is unacceptable. read more

Petsmart is the best place on the Northshore for all of your pet related needs. There is a huge wall of aquariums that are well stocked with fish. There is even a live plant aquarium. Kids love the cats, guinea pigs and birds on display. Parents love all the food choices, bedding and leash options. This location also has an attached grooming business which does a great job. Another plus is that you can bring your pets into the store as long as they are leashed. read more

Customer service was great. Dad purchased the wrong dog food and I had to go exchange it for the right one. Turns out that he purchased it at a petco and not at pet smart. Manager was still cool enough to let me exchange dog food. Really great experience read more

My very best 4-legged friend asked me to write this review. He said to tell you that this Petsmart has the nicest people anywhere. All of the employees talked to us and asked if we needed help finding anything, and then the cashier gave him cookies on our way out - he didn't have to do a trick or anything! It was definitely his favorite stop during our errands today. I personally like their selection of products, and that they often have fun holiday-themed treats and toys (and costumes, if you like that sort of thing). read more

For the first time in my life... I was just refused in buying a goldfish. HAHA When I have plenty of tanks and all equipment needed, am not a first-time fish owner, and used to help take care of all of Petsmart's sickly pets as a vet tech, I was literally told that I "can get a beta". ‍ I was a little shocked at first, but now I'm just laughing. I had the best experience here today. Even better than I have had at my vet lately. My 10 week old kitten has been having soft stool and some blood in her stool. With 2 trips to the vet for deworming and parasite tests coming back negative, I did not know what else to do. My vet was not very helpful on what to do next. I was told that she could possibly have a sensitive stomach and to try a sensitive formula food for kittens. I went to PetSmart and couldn't find any sensitive formulas for kittens and decided to ask an employee that happened to be restocking on the same aisle as me. Alexis was so informative and helpful it was unbelievable. She blew me away with her knowledge and expertise (I really asked her if she was a vet or in vet school lol). She informed me that it is probably the type of food I am feeding my kitten. She showed me good kitten foods that are grain free as most popular cat food brands are made with mostly corn and wheat (cats are obligate carnivores and many have corn and wheat allergies). She went over ingredient labels with me, and gave me all the information I needed. She helped me for as long as I needed and didn't rush me at all while I was asking my thousands of questions. She is truly one of the friendliest employees I have met at any store in a long time. PetSmart is doing it right by having this girl on their team, and all employees need to take notes from her. I love this store! It always have what I need for my many fish tanks, Crested Gecko, and dog. Everything is great quality. The store is always clean, and the employees are always kind and helpful. Most of my fish are from there, and they have lived very long. Overall, this store is great and I highly recommend shopping there. read more

Selection of foods and pet supplies/toys is good; most of the employees are pleasant and helpful. I am very skeptical of the groomers. I have never taken my dog here (and never would), but I have watched the groomers. In general, they look aggravated and annoyed; they do not appear in any way to enjoy what they do. They don't seem to interact with the dogs, pet them, talk to them, or try to soothe the ones that are upset or afraid. I saw one groomer in particular jerk a little dog by the collar, slap the side of his face with the back of her hand, then snatch his foot toward her as he tried to pull away. I had a manager called to the front of the store and reported her actions; he said he'd speak to her. However, since then I haven't seen much change in the environment in the grooming room. read more

I took my dog here to get groomed. It was a disaster. I'll save the details, but its not the groomers' fault. Who ever trained them did not teach them to deal with dogs properly. My regular groomer always takes new dogs for a short walk, to build trust and to get to know the dog. My dog has never had a problem there. At PetSmart have no idea about trust building, or maybe they're just too busy or they don't get paid enough to do it. I'm not sure. The girls were very nice, and they tried the best they knew how. I blame PetSmart corporate, not the nice girls at the store. They were so nice, I felt bad being a dissatisfied customer. The manager tried to help, but didn't seem to have training in helping customers. Their leaders failed them. I still buy my pet stuff here because they're close and the staff is pretty helpful when it comes to retail sales. I also bought my fish and snail here. They were really helpful and knowledgable about fish! read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG FOR GROOMING HERE!! I went there today and saw them forcing an elderly dog stand and when the dog tried to lay down they put up the noose so the dog was practically hanging by its neck. This is dangerous especially for the dog (cavalier in this case) due to the short nose. The groomer pulled the dogs legs at a right angle to the body causing the dog pain. Unfortunately i couldn't stay around to tell the owner. read more

I have 2 dogs so frequent pet stores often. Pet smart is okay but I prefer smaller pet stores as the service is better and staff seem to know more. If I have questions about an item I would like staff to know what they are talking about. Forget about finding someone to help you on a Saturday! read more

Grooming services are horrible. Do NOT get Heather. Just don't trust them at all. My small dog was half shaved and I had to pay 64$ for him. After four hours you'd think the groomer would be competent enough to shave a 7lb dog........ Wasn't even compensated for the horrible job. read more

Do not take your dog here! I took my Sheltie there last Saturday for the first & last time! He needed grooming badly, as I had been unemployed for 3 months & unable to afford his usual groomer. I spent a good 10 min explaining to the "groomer" Rachael, what I wanted done, even showing her a pic of the classic Sheltie cut. He was not matted, I just wanted his fur to be thinned & shaped up, his ruff thinned, & shortened, his belly hair shortened & thinned out, because the weather is so hot. The dog I picked up nearly 5 hours later, I wouldn't have recognized except for his face!! All the beautiful sable coloring, gone, his ruff, gone, he was practically shaved down to his second coat!!! His belly was SHAVED, the sanitary cut I asked for extends almost across his behind! Way too big of an area was shaved! When I got him home, he drank almost a bowl full of water, which makes me wonder if he had had water the entire time he was there! My dog is very laid back, & calm. In 7 years has never given groomers a problem, every one that has ever groomed him has complemented me on how well behaved he is! When, I hope, his fur grows out, I will take him to his regular groomer, no matter the cost! DON'T GO THERE IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG!!! And, by the way, I am not a very picky owner, this is the first time I have ever complained about a pet groomer! Guess I will have to give this one star if I want it to post!! read more
